There's a faint crackle and a hum as the overhead speakers come on, but neither Narrator's voice comes out like it normally would to address the residents of the comings and goings of the Office. There's silence, except for that crackle and hum, for nearly ten seconds.

And then...

Then there's a voice...

It's very quiet, like it's standing far away, at the other end of the room from where the microphone would be and the person might be soft spoken to boot. They're whispering, and it's difficult to tell if it might be masculine of feminine. Even more difficult is to tell what they're saying. Actually, it's so difficult you can't tell at all, especially with that piano music playing over them.

"Music" is putting it generously. It sounds like someone is just mashing piano keys at random. Either that or someone has rolled a piano down the stairs and this is the song of its descent you are hearing. In any case, its discord is making it impossible to hear what the voice is saying.

You do manage to catch one word. No, two.

"Help me..."

The crackle, hum, piano, and voice continue on for a couple more seconds before suddenly stopping, the sound disappearing into the silence of the Office.

The speakers come on again barely a second later, and this time Cyrus speaks.

"...Did you hear that?" he asks. He sounds confused, and on top of that, concerned. Frightened, even.

It had been a rather quiet day, yet again..so Fin and Yagi had decided to walk about town. The tall blond still got a few odd stares, and every now and again, someone would walk up wanting an autograph. It had taken the world time to get used to Yagi as he was now- and while the whispers of 'the Symbol of the Dead' weren't exactly welcome...it was better that than All for One in the streets.

"What do you say to dropping by Smoothie King before we head back to the school?" Yagi's suggestion hadn't been in the air for more than a second when he bumped into something- or rather, someone. He took a stumbling step back, his smile instantly transforming to apologetic as he raised his hands. "Ah- sorry about that! I didn't mean to bump into you."

Huh....Fin wasn't exactly the best at Heroes, but this one...didn't look familiar. They'd seen a few ever since their rise in Hero society, but they had yet to see one that looked so...robotic? It wasn't like Ingenium or his younger brother, Ida- this felt...different.

Their eyes flickered towards the nearby store the stranger had stepped out of- revealing an interior beyond the door that very much wasn't what could be seen through the glass. They immediately jumped towards it- but the door slammed closed before they could catch it.

"Shit...!"

been playing around with this idea of kurier going to boston for no real reason (for now) except that he. has a way to get there since he has access to stuff like vertibirds anf shit. anyways he gets there and gets hired as nick’s partner and they’re besties. also it takes on the pseudonym “kier” (like the card) (it still uses kurier but. yeah). probably “non-canon” but it’s fun to think about it and nick as friends. 

#i think it would also probably get more confident as time goes on #they mostly do notes since. nick doesn't write stuff down but eventually they also start asking questions during investigations and #that's kind of like a starter to opening up even more than they did during nv #ok well whatever. it's mostly about two old men that solve cases and gossip together #kurier is probably in his like. mid-forties by then #idk what i'd do with sole in this case lol

This was perfect.

Not only was Kai being pleasant tonight, but she was attached to his hip on full display for everyone to see. He was showing her off, she knew this and it made her cheeks redden in satisfaction. They made a perfect couple and with time they would conquer the world. For the first time since she landed in Korea, she felt at ease. Glee danced in her chest and her head moved in agreement with the three men circled around them. They were important Kai had whispered to her earlier. Even now the memory of the heat of his breath on her skin gave her shivers. She snuck a peek at his handsome face to make sure she wasn't dreaming. She wasn't and it made the happiness in her chest intensify. If things went well tonight they could turn the page and maybe attempt to give their relationship the chance it deserved. Her laughter sprung from her chest easily at a joke one of the chairman told, her mannerism poise and elegant. It wasn't necessarily comedic but appearances were everything especially to her man. Another few minutes passed where the men discussed company revenue. A topic Zhi couldn't care less about but she showed her interest. Commenting when necessary. Kai would be happy with her. It took another moment before they were wrapping things up and moving to another group of individuals. This would be their night. The CEO and his wife.

She kept her arm ticked into his, her engagement and wedding rings sparkling against the sleeve of his jacket. She wanted everyone to know he was hers. "我现在要去哪里? Where are we going now?" she whispered softly by his ear.

She would forever be grateful for what he had done for her and her child. “We’re going to win the case,” she said, smiling at him. “I know I’ve been too busy with this battle, and I forgot to thank you, but I can’t stress enough how grateful I am. If it weren’t for you, this wouldn’t be possible.”

there were a lot of things that were important to taewan outside of his relationship and he tried his best not to put them in any order but his career and, ultimately, the fame he got from said career were pretty highly ranked for him. being in a public relationship would surely put him in the doghouse with his, quote-unquote, fans. so he decided it was best to keep his private life private and he thought the other understood that... that is, until he received a text saying they were done. taewan dropped everything and raced to his partner's place to confront them.
