my mom introduced Signed, Sealed, and Delivered to me as a cheesy feel good Hallmark. I stayed for all the autistic coded characters.

So I was talking to Carrie Coon today (well, I was talking at Carrie Coon, more truthfully) and she was talking about how every so often she'll get someone tweet at her "I like your acting, but you should really keep your mouth shut" [regarding politics]. And after my outrage at what a monumentally moronic thing that is to say to anyone died down, I was like "Can you imagine the absolute shitstorm that would follow if some entitled American dipshit told an actor like Richard Harris 'I like your acting, but you should really keep your mouth shut'?" Like, that idiot would open the door and standing there'd be Harris, Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton, and Oliver Reed, all brandishing steel pipes and soused to the gills.

Spending my night watching interviews with the four great hellraisers: Reed, Harris, O'Toole and Burton.
Say what you will about them but they were all great storytellers and very sexy.

There is NO Return-to-Sender on this one! Hallmark Mystery took to its Social Media last night to officially announce/deliver the exciting news ALL POstables (Signed, Sealed, Delivered fans) have been waiting for: "#POSTABLES, WE'RE BACK!" I captured the image above as soon as I saw it, and I may have squealed with excitement!
Hallmark shared this wonderful news with the image (above) of the main Signed, Sealed, Delivered cast - Eric Mabius, Crystal Lowe, Kristin Booth, and Geoff Gustafson - from the movie Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again, and I must say, the series truly is returning to its Hallmark home - once again!
The last Signed, Sealed, Delivered film, Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made, was released in 2021, so it's been a long hiatus. Will the cast pick up where they left off—immediately after Oliver and Shane were married—or will time have gone by since then? Ironically enough, only time will tell. Certainly, there will be some changes; even the channel SSD premieres on has changed, from Hallmark Movies & Mysteries to Hallmark Mystery!
Fans took to Social Media with the best enthusiastic responses to this news:

I just loved reading everyone's excitement over this news! Even though we sort of knew it was happening due to production notes and clues from the cast, it was still a huge thrill to see Hallmark's official announcement! If you'd like to check out this wonderful series filled with moments of faith, love, drama, inspiration, humor, and more... please be sure to visit my Signed, Sealed, Delivered Series/Movies in Chronological Order page - here. DVDs for each film are also listed there.
Also, if you have the Hallmark Family channel, you can look forward to a 3-day SSD marathon next week, running from Monday, March 25th through Wednesday, March 27th! Thank you to the incredible SSD cast and Hallmark for making these new Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies possible! It was divine providence, I believe, that Hallmark chose the image from Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again to share this news because we POstables are absolutely ready to welcome Signed, Sealed, Delivered into our Homes Again!
Sincerely,
Net✍

'"Oppenheimer" is huge. It's one of Christopher Nolan's most massive movies, a sprawling epic that covers the life and times of J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the atomic bomb. The film spans several years of Oppenheimer's life, zeroing in on specific time periods — specifically the lead-up to the building of the bomb, and then the aftermath when Oppenheimer's career was destroyed due to his leftist leanings. As I wrote in my review, "Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' is nothing short of extraordinary. In what might be his magnum opus, Nolan has meticulously crafted a biopic that feels like a thriller. He's also managed to find a way to make 3 hours of people sitting in rooms talking at each other downright exciting."
Like all movies, "Oppenheimer" draws on films that came before it. It owes a debt or two to Oliver Stone's "JFK," in how it's a star-studded, 3-hour epic about grave decisions, and Nolan has cited Andrei Tarkovsky's "Mirror" as an inspiration, too. And Nolan isn't the only one drawing on other works. His star Cillian Murphy also turned to films for inspiration. Per the Independent, when it came time to make the movie, Murphy watched two specific movies as research. This was all part of Murphy's process to "connect with and find the truth" of his character.
Lawrence of Arabia
The first film on Murphy's list: David Lean's massive 1962 epic "Lawrence of Arabia." The film stars Peter O'Toole as T. E. Lawrence and follows his journey uniting Arab tribes during World War I. It's often held up as one of the best movies ever made, and it covers a huge amount of ground in its lengthy runtime. As Roger Ebert wrote, "For a movie that runs 216 minutes, plus intermission, 'Lawrence of Arabia' is not dense with plot details. It is a spare movie in clean, uncluttered lines, and there is never a moment when we're in doubt about the logistical details of the various campaigns."
Murphy says he watched "Lawrence of Arabia" "in terms of the scale and the life-story aspect," and that makes a lot of sense. Like "Oppenheimer," "Lawrence of Arabia" is a biopic that doesn't really feel like a traditional biopic. It's not a cradle-to-the-grave story, but rather a glimpse into a period in the life of its main character. Nolan takes a similar approach to "Oppenheimer," zeroing in on specific times in Oppenheimer's life rather than telling his complete life story.
Amadeus
The second movie Murphy watched: "Amadeus," Miloš Forman's 1984 film about the death of Mozart. The film is heavily fictionalized and focuses primarily on F. Murray Abraham's Antonio Salieri, a composer who is fiercely jealous of Mozart's talents, which Salieri sees as divine. He loathes that Mozart is better than him, and his insecurities drive him mad to the point that he plots to destroy Mozart. The rivalry between the two men is played up by having Salieri working to sabotage Mozart while Mozart remains blissfully, tragically unaware.
If you've seen "Oppenheimer," you can probably guess why Murphy watched this film. The rivalry between Mozart and Salieri mirrors the rivalry between Oppenheimer and Lewis Strauss, played by Robert Downey Jr. Strauss offers Oppenheimer a job early in the film, and the two appear to be colleagues on friendly terms. But a perceived slight from Oppenheimer burns at Strauss for years and causes him to sabotage Oppenheimer's career late in life, just as Salieri targeted Mozart. As Murphy put it, he watched "Amadeus" "because of Salieri and Mozart, that kind of competitive relationship."
The one-two punch of "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Amadeus" can be seen reflected in "Oppenheimer," be it through the film's sprawling nature or its story about a bitter rivalry between two men. No wonder Murphy turned to these movies for inspiration.'

And here's my ShOliver finished drawing at long last! I loved drawing Shane and loathed drawing Oliver lol
It was my first time drawing a guy so I guess I did alright but those lips are literally the worst I have ever done lol. I am proud of how his outfit turned out though!
Tumblr media
I actually finished this last Saturday but the lips were so bad I didn't want to think about it but today I went back and worked on them a little more and I guess they're better now

I love your blog! What did you think of the Vows We Have Made?
Sorry, I just saw this! It's not my favorite movie out of all of them, but I love it. I had hoped that we'd get to meet Shane's sister, Alex, as well as her mom, so I was a little bummed about that. I was surprised (in a good way) that they kinda made Shane's mom like Oliver - I actually wasn't expecting that. At least, they felt alike to me. But it also explains how Shane was able to *see* Oliver, to get to the heart of him so quickly when others just dismissed him as idiosyncratic. Two moments I especially loved was when Shane's mom (I can't think of her name right now) basically tells Oliver that she's his mom now, too, and they hug - and the moment when Oliver admits that it was love at first with Shane, but he was married.
What did you think of it?

The Signed, Sealed, Delivered fandom is super small here on tumblr dot com, because it mainly exists on twitter, but if anyone wants to join the small fandom here, @anextraordinarymuse and I would love to chat with you!
We started one of those chat things you can join and we'd love for you to come on over and talk with us about all things SSD!
(I suck at being a hype person because I believe if something is good enough, it'll sell itself. So please just join us on our chat because there's no other place on this site for Postables to talk.)

I know this is a COMPLETELY niche interest but
Oliver and Norman from Signed, Sealed, Delivered are autistic and here's why
Oliver
1)He's not exactly the best at social interaction, but he can talk for a while about things he's interested in
2) he says things that seem harsh or underempathetic but also shows empathy in his actions more than his words, by remembering little things about people and bringing them up to talk about
3) he avoids eye contact, even looking uncomfortable when people try to look him in the eye. His love interest tried to make eye contact and he looked at her forehead or nose as much as he could.
4)he gets fiercely passionate about stuff and has trouble stopping once he's started until he deems it useless to continue
5) he can tell others how they're feeling based on what's going on with them but can't really explain or want to feel his own emotions
6)he's got a very linear way of speaking and uses elaborate words and specific movements
7) gets upset when his routine gets messed up
Norman
1) is super in love with facts. he collects them and memorizes things because they interest him
2) he has hyper-empathy along with trying to please everyone
3) he talks to himself and has tics
4) has special interests and is very knowledgeable about certain things "i know a lot of stuff, I just don't know what to do with it."
5) quiet, doesn't talk to that many people, comes off as shy
6) was talking to a dog with ptsd, trying to get it to get out of the car and help find its owner and said something along the lines of, "I know how it is. the world is loud and bright and scary, but it's okay to go out in it, if you have someone to go with you."
7) he sometimes struggles with jokes and figures of speech
Personally, this means the world to me. Because they are portrayed in a beautiful realistic way and not used entirely as comic relief or shown to be stupid or strictly savant. it's just beautiful to see.
therefore it's at least a headcanon that you cannot change my mind about.
