I think I got a ship from you before, but I cannot find it, so I hope you don't mind me sending another! lol Can I get male ships from Enterprise & AOS? I have anxiety, depression & chronic pain, but deal with it very well. I'm kind to a fault, and patient. I tend to be the problem solver or the shoulder to lean on, but never the one who is offered that in return. I studied Anthro/Archaeology & History for 6 years. I love food/cooking, I read and paint. I adore nature and animals, and only ever feel at peace outside. I'm often attracted to more mature men with a fun side, rather than an immature man with a mature side lol, and I love kind and funny men. I also like to be taken care of but not babied. I hope that's enough lol. Thank you ❤❤❤
Hey Mera! I don't mind at all! <3
Enterprise ship:
Tumblr media
TRomantic partner: Jonathan Archer
Best friend: T'Pol
Right, so you would be a xeno-anthropologist and as such would work closely with T'Pol. You would be her favourite science officer (though she'd never admit it) due to your intelligence and diligence. She would thus often recommend you for missions and projects, often citing your skills to the captain. Jon would become intrigued by the officer who captivated T'Pol. He'd start requesting your company skills on away missions just to spend time with you. You would become Jon's confidant; he'd lean on you for support and ask you for advice often. He would definitely be sure to offer you his shoulder to lean on, too. He'd be gentle about it, though, never trying to push his support onto you if you weren't up for it. Porthos would become your best friend, and sometimes would spend the night in your quarters. As your captain, it would be Jon's duty to make sure you were doing okay. But as your boyfriend, Jon would make it a point to see to it himself that all your needs were being met. He'd do literally anything for you and would be all too eager to care for you.
AOS ship:
Tumblr media
Romantic partner: Spock
Best friend: Jim Kirk
Like on the Enterprise NX-01, you would be a xeno-anthropologist. You'd work under Spock's command, and he would quickly come to appreciate your talents. He would be most impressed at your skills and knowledge of other cultures and races. But it would be more than just your job skills that impressed him: your strength and determination would be admirable qualities to him. Once the two of you are friends, he would teach you Vulcan meditation techniques to help with your anxiety and depression, and would even do Vulcan neuro-pressure to help your chronic pain. You'd learn Vulcan recipes so you could cook Spock some of his favourite dishes. In return, he'd read your favourite books and would do paint nights with you (despite him not being overly artistic). Though Jim is the captain and has to keep a certain distance from his crew, he'd be quite invested in your and Spock's relationship. He'd say it's because Spock is more efficient at his job with you by his side, but really he's just happy the two of you are so in love.
Ships are open for January! See pinned post for details

32 for the prompts please!!!
Of course! Thanks for the ask, hopefully you don't mind but I did more of a doctor/doctor au... but anyway I had a lot of fun writing this for you! :)
32. Doctor/Companion AU
It’s amazing how a human brain works.
How mysterious it was and the many, many ways it can help you be so alive. Hank knew instantly when he was a resident what field he wants to work in. He had worked so hard just to become the neuro surgeon he is today, he be damned if he lets someone destroy it on him now. He loves being a surgeon, trust him he really, really does he just hates working with the one ortho surgeon that always annoys him.
Alex Summers.
He’s a great surgeon, does miracles on fixing bones but even from the very start they just hated each other. He never knew why, or how it even started in the first place but the whole hospital knows that Doctor McCoy and Doctor Summers hated each other. Which is kind of funny because for some reason Alex keeps the whole hate thing happening at work compared to home. That’s right, they have been together for three years and no one even knows it.
Why you ask?
Because Alex thought it was fun to keep it going and somehow roped Hank into agreeing with him. It was fun, no doubt. But how was Hank supposed to get Alex to take the next step into the relationship when no one knows about them in the first place.
“Wait, so for this patient has a aneurism, and a broken arm in three places?” Raven asks in surprise. “Plus a shattered hand on the same broken arm.” Hank says taking a bite of his salad. “How did they even?” She asks and then shakes her head. “You know what nevermind, I’m glad to pick cardio. I’m good with hearts.” She says and Hank chuckles. He does have to agree with Raven though, she was one of the best head of cardio surgeons in the country. Had a natural talent from the very beginning of her residency that they didn’t let her go try the other fields. The previous Head of Cardio saw talent and he helped her become even better, even though they had a secret relationship going on three weeks later and he ended up breaking her heart by running away to marry another woman.
Hank would know, he was her best friend and she told him everything while crying and eating lots and lots of ice cream. “Oh shit, you know what that means?” She asks, her eyes going wide. “Uh what?” He asks, not quite understanding what she was asking for. “It means you’re working with Alex Summers. Man this is a disaster.” She says and Hank chuckles. Most times it was hard not to think of them as a couple at work. That he constantly trash talk about Alex even though he doesn’t mean any of it and it makes him feel super guilty saying such horrible stuff about his boyfriend.
“Oh I know.” He groans and sighs. “Ruins my whole day, you know I had such a great morning too. I mean, I got great sleep, my first surgery went great, my patients are great and now this.” He says. He really did have a great morning, Alex was really in a cuddling mood which he isn’t often and Hank loves to hold him and well, let’s say it quickly got heated.
Alex was right, morning sleepy wake up sex was great.
“I feel bad for you, you must be dreading it.” She says and Hank nearly snorts. It was the opposite in fact, he was excited to work with him. “Yeah well, just ignore him and the surgery won’t take long on my part.” He says and stands up. “Wish you luck.” She says, flashing a smile and Hank nods back at her walking away. He quickly throws his lunch away and walks to the patient room, hoping to explain the surgery to her.
However, that quickly gets thrown out the window when he walks in and Alex was finishing explaining it to her. “So, Doctor McCoy and I will work together and you will be healthy and new in no time.” He says grinning and Hank barely stopped himself from rolling his eyes at the woman’s giggle. Alex has a way of charming all the girls without even trying, not to mention his blond hair and blue eyes instantly makes them fall in love with him. “I take it Doctor Summers already explained everything to you?” He asks, grabbing her chart and quickly scanning it to make sure she doesn’t have any allergies to the tools they were going to use.
It was difficult last time because the last patient was allergic to latex without telling him and that patient nearly died if it wasn’t for Hank’s quick thinking.
“Yeah, uh are you sure this is going to work?” She asks nervously and the blond grins. “Don’t worry, Hank here is the best neuro surgeon. I trust him and he hasn’t lost a patient yet and he won’t start now. You’re in good hands Mrs. Dane.” He says and she blushes. “Okay, I’m ready.” She says and Alex gives her a thumbs up. They didn’t really notice that Sean was there staring at them with wide eyes. He was probably shocked that Alex gave him a compliment and he kicks Alex lightly in the ankle without anyone noticing. As they walk out Alex gave him a glare. “Tell anyone I said that bozo and I will kill you.” He growls and Hank rolls his eyes.
“Whatever.” He says and the blond huffs as he storms off. “Are you sure you two won’t fight during this surgery?” Sean asks and he shrugs. “If Summers stays professional.” He says. “Now, prep her for surgery. I will meet you in OR six.” He says and walks off.
He takes a little detour and slips into the on call room and locks the door. “Thanks for the heads up, just don’t kick me in the ankle next time will you?” Alex asks exasperated and Hank gives him a look. “How else was I supposed to get your attention?” He asks and the blond rolls his eyes. Hank sighs and pulls Alex closer, wrapping his arms around the man as Alex reaches up to give him a quick kiss. “How much longer you want to hold this whole façade up?” He asks and Alex shrugs. “It is getting a little boring huh?” He asks and Hank kisses his neck briefly before nuzzling his nose into the soft blond hair that he loves.
“Yes it is, let’s surprise them.” He says and Alex gives him a confused look. “How?” He asks and Hank grins fondly at him. “By being all sweet and loving to each other during the surgery. Everyone is going to watch in the gallery to see us fight.” He says and Alex giggles. “Now that is genius. Have I ever told you how much I love your ideas?” Alex asks.
“Not often but I’ll take it. I can’t wait to see their reaction.” He says and the blond kisses him again. Hank draws it out, not letting him pull away. “Wish we had more time.” The brunet grumbles as he presses more kisses along his throat, making Alex shudder. “Later, right now we have a surgery to do.” He says and grabs Hank’s hand. “Right.” He says and with a sigh, he slowly pulls away and unlocks the door.
“Come on, let’s go see their reactions. It’s going to be priceless.” He says and Alex grins as he quickly follows Hank out of the on call room.
Anyone else wants to request a number, go right on ahead!!

2017
okay let’s see! first off, i want to start with just a general thank you to the writers, the artists, the fic reccers, the charity stuff, the websites, etc. you guys--the people who bust ass for this fandom for fucking free--i just love what you do and i’m proud to be a little part of it.
special thanks to those who’ve read my fics, recced my fics, shouted at me about my fics, sent me messages about my fics, left comments or kudos on my fics, etc. thank you thank you thank you.
below the cut because i rambled. sorry.
fics. friends. depression. art. my house. the camper. my kids. tour. louis.
those are the main things i want to touch on and idek where to start.
so fics. at the beginning of this year, i was writing ‘fall at my door’ and feeling shitty because DEPRESSION and some situational shit. i signed up for big bang, and my first exchange--the hp1d exchange, and then my second exchange--hlsummer, and then boom i decided to do 50 reasons, and tbh it’s been a fucking ride, my friends. because of fanfiction, i’ve made so many friends in this fandom, and i’m so thankful for our little corner of this absolutely bizarre world that we call the 1d tumblr fandom. i can’t name you all. i won’t even try because i’ll leave someone out and then i’ll cry. but to everyone i’ve met/talked to because of fic?? it’s a fucking pleasure knowing you. 2017 was my first full year of fic writing and just the fact that i’ve written anything at all still blows me away.
FRIENDS! okay, i just have to say that i love nic @louandhazaf and without 1d and tumblr, i’d never have known her. so, really, thanks to whoever posted the link to the treatise on gomi, because so many things in my life have changed for the better because of it. i have a friend that i want to be friends with forever :D and i can’t wait for summer to come visit!!! to all of my other friends--idek what to say. you guys make me laugh, make me think, make me proud, and change me for the better, i think. so... i love you all.
depression. okey dokey. thank you to my gc wenches. i would never have had the courage to start therapy without your encouragment, so @louandhazaf @justafatbirdonaboat @theonewiththebluemic @fratboylouie you guys mean so much to me <3 and i love you. therapy is some crazy fucked up shit, but it works, soooooo... i’m going to keep going. also, high five to wellbutrin. i’m so glad that the first med i tried worked for me.
ART! when things started to go to shit in this fandom, i started looking for fan art to distract myself and found out that our fandom is so fucking talented! i am so amazed by you guys and you really do have the ability to change my mood. when i feel like shit, i reblog art. so thank you.
my house/the camper. guys, ngl this has fucking sucked. it still sucks. we’re literally having the coldest winter in yearssssssssss and our heat broke lol. still in the camper. thank you for listening to me bitch and complain and talking to me about the bullshit surrounding this whole thing. hopefully it’ll be over soon. i do have some pics to post, so i’ll do that later.
i don’t post about them much, but i have shared a bit about my kids. homeschooling and especially dealing with my youngest and all of the shit that has happened this year from his first seizure, our visits to the neuro, the tests, etc. you guys have been so lovely. the messages and comments just sending positive thoughts mean a lot to me. thank you <3
TOUR. okay, so @fratboylouie i am so happy that i got to meet you and hang out with you for the entire fucking day while waiting for harry. and then on top of that to meet @laurabelle0624 and for us to get that bi flag passed up to harry???? y’all harry styles has my hair tie. plus i got to meet @laynefaire and @always-aqua and @roguecurls (and i feel like i’m forgetting some urls here and this is why i don’t do this!!!!!!!) and i had so much fun. it was a wonderful day and harry was amazing in his plant pants!
LOUIS. i have to end on louis. louis has changed my life in so many ways and idek where to start. his strength, his perseverance, his kindness, just his overall loving nature has made me want to be a better person. he’s made me want to try harder, to fight for myself and for other people. i honestly wish that i’d known of someone like him when i was a teenager and/or in my 20s. i just love him so much for everything that he is and everything that he does. he’s just absolutely the best person. pure sunshine and love. and i wouldn’t be here if not for louis.
anyway, this is messy and probably full of misspellings and other errors and maybe doesn’t make much sense at all, but idc. i can’t wait to say BYE to 2017 and tbh 2018 better kick ass.

majin tantei nougami neuro week day two: rivalry
notes: IDK if this drabble ends up fitting “rivalry” as much as I wanted it to. It kind of went a little differently than planned. But that’s okay I guess lmao. Also, if this is too hard to read on my blog and you don't have "Read More Now" for x-kit, all of my drabbles are getting posted onto AO3 as well!
That she can remember, it’s the first time this has ever happened to them.
They’ve both realized who the culprit is at the exact same time.
For any regular job that they work ( one that’s not on any sort of larger scale and doesn’t take them more than a day or two to solve ), it’s not always easy to see the precise moment when Neuro’s actually connected every dot and decided he’s ready to break it down step by step. An ever-so-slight tug of a smile upon his lips, a twitch of his brow, a momentary flicker of his true nature reflected in his eyes--his reactions are subtle. Which isn’t very surprising since most cases aren’t too much of a brain-teaser for him in the first place.
She, on the other hand, is a little easier to read than her demonic partner. Not that she is over the top or an open book, of course; she certainly knows how to behave in front of culprits and clients so that she doesn’t give anything vital about her thought process away. But in the presence of those she can trust, when the metaphorical pieces click together in her mind, Yako is much more candid. Her eyes widen, her spine straightens, and her lips part just the littlest bit. Even cases that don’t test her abilities too much can still elicit more subtle reactions--it is rare that she is completely devoid of any sort of emotion.
And they both know each other’s ticks and habits; hell, they can converse with just their eyes. Of course they can read the signs and tell when their opposite has cracked a case or at least figured out something of significance.
So, when she cranes her neck back to look up at him and present the demon her thoughts, what she sees throws her for a loop. They’ve both come to a conclusion and turned to face each other not even seconds apart, almost as though some invisible force had moved their heads in unison. Even he looks just a little surprised.
They have definitely had close finishes before where one reaches an answer right before the other does. More often than not it is Neuro quickly deducing the method of the murder and tearing any alibi to shreds, caring very little about the why--because that’s her job. And even with it being her forte, she still doesn’t always work as fast he does. But on certain cases that are dripping with human emotion and require her talents to unlock the puzzle, she can often excel and beat the demon to the punch.
And though they are the perfect partners, making up for what the other lacks while working with and not against one another ( “torture” excluded ), Yako won’t deny that she enjoys being able to hold it over him whenever she can actually keep pace or even pass him. This is no exception, regardless of how surprising and eerie their simultaneous revelation may be. Once she is able to break free of her stupor, a grin spreads across her lips, and she raises an eyebrow at him.
        “--Another point for me.”
“Excuse me, mealworm? Is that boasting I hear? When you haven’t even bothered to explain who you think the culprit is?” In an instant, his gloved talons have snapped out and harshly grasped her skull in a painfully tight grip. “I think you’re getting a big head. Perhaps I should pop it.”
“Owowowow,” Yako rattles off, her face contorting in discomfort as her hands fly up to tug at his sleeve in defiance. “I am not! It was a joke!” Mostly.
“A poor one,” he says, tightening his grip just a tad more. “You would not receive a point for a simple tie, even against me. Now, tell me who you think has committed this murder, and if it’s correct, I might consider not splitting your skull open like a melon.”
“Hey, who says I wouldn’t get a point for a tie?” she shoots back, brows tightening in a blend of both mock and genuine offense. “There are games where a tie will give both players a point instead of neither getting zero.”
“In hell, a tie means that both participants are dead.” Pinching the fabric of the glove on his spare hand between his teeth, Neuro yanks the fabric off his body to reveal bladed fingers. He runs them lightly across her throat, his expression absolutely menacing. But she knows he would never actually do such a thing to her; Yako doesn’t even flinch. “So no points.”
“We’re not dead, though,” she deadpans back to him before yelping when he twists her head sharply to the right, shooting pain through her muscles. “Ahgh! Fine, fine! It was the mother that did it! There’s a million small signs that she’s unhealthily attached to our client, even if she’s good at hiding it from most people. Not to mention, I found out the park where the murder took place holds great significance to her because of our client, and she’s had a history of causing a scene or two there in the past. I think it’d make sense for her to plan something in that location since she knows it like the back of her hand and holds such an intense emotional attachment to it. Especially considering who the victim is.”
There’s a short pause before she is dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes. This barely fazes her, though, and the so-called “detective” is back on her feet within a matter of seconds, brushing off her clothes and massaging her neck after its rough treatment. He says nothing, staring down at her as she readjusts herself as though he is pondering her words. And once their gaze meets once more, she can’t help but smile a little. There’s a palpable sense of satisfaction reflected in his eyes, their demonic nature deepening in a way that she hasn’t seen directed at anyone else but herself.
“--Hm. Your assumption is correct, slug. It was indeed the mother,” he says, slipping his glove back upon his hand before heading across the room. “But how she did it, I will explain after you have played your part.”
“Right.” Grabbing her purse, she follows after him, rushing to match the demon’s pace and walk side by side with him down the hallway to where their client and the culprit are waiting. And once they make to the door and Neuro begins to turn the knob, Yako can’t stop herself from whispering, “I still think I got a point.”
The door swings open, and before she can even say her line, her own fist shoots up to punch herself in the face, rather than point at the murderer.

Autistic Community Manifesto Part 1: Us Autistics Chapter 1: Autistic Brotherhood by Charles McIntyre
Prelude:
Greetings fellow Autistics, I am Charles McIntyre, I am 26 and was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (Autism) when I was 4. My greatest strengths are Hyper Empathy, being analytical, seeing details and patterns others miss and word-smithing.
My greatest struggles are connecting with people, executive dysfunction, SPD, CAPD. I officially formed the group Call "Intelligent Autistic Media" in April 2017. Our mission statement is to spread 1. Autistic Pride 2.) Encourage and instruct Autistic Self Advocacy 3.) Defeat Anti-Autistic stigma and myths, 4.) Encourage and instruct NT Ally ship 5.) Improve the lives of Autistics and their families as much as possible.
I run this Facebook Group has at this about 380 members and we have been active for almost a year. We are an okay group, but I have not been as a successful leader as would like to be. I believe this to be because I my struggles with struggles with executive dysfunction and my inability to connect to people in an effective and consistently. In short, I am more a creative, ambitious visionary, than a leader and organizer.
So, I decided to write this sort of "Manifesto of Campaigns" as way to offer up a list of campaigns and initiatives I believe could elevate the status of the Autistic Community and solve some of our problems. It is hope that this manifesto will inspire various members of the community to time, resources, and talents to execute the fore mentioned project and initiatives. I feel like success hinges on ability to organize and mobilize. With our collaboration and unity can we ever hope to overcome NT supremacy. I am not sure if everybody will agree to all my ideas, but I am throwing them out there regardless. If you do find ideas appealing, please contact me. I hope to set up some collaborations.  If you have any constructive criticisms, please elaborate. If you don’t have anything of meaning to add please ignore and scroll pass.
Part 1: Us Autistic Chapter 1: Autistic Brotherhood
Now, as were particularly diverse demographic of exceedingly unique individuals, unification is of   course easier said than done.  I would propose constitution or a share list of demands. As often have embracive personalities and none of us like to walk on eggshells we try to be patient with each other as much as we and agree to interact with a shared written code of ethics or social guidelines
Here is an example of such a code: 1.) If you are not of groups demographic stay in your lane. Ie don't talk about something that you don't understand. 2.) If you post something covers anything that may cause someone a panic attack or extreme discomfort; ie Sexual assault, violence, bigotry ect... ad a Trigger warning. 3.) If you post anything that has possible uncomfortable subject matter or contents; ie swearing, sex, sensory issues ect ad a content warning. 4.) Do not use sarcasm or hyperbole or otherwise confusing language.  5.) While in debate or disagreement do not assume hostility unless it is blatant. You maybe projecting or overthinking. Try asking the other person to clarify.  6.) Try to stay on topic with the post while commenting. 7.) If you see a post or comment that upsets you or that you disagree with scroll past it unless you deem it necessary.  8.) When engaging in a debate be polite and avoid using vulgar language or name calling.  9.) Walk away from an argument if it gets to heated. 10.) If someone does not want to argue, don't drag them back into thread by tagging them. This is harassment. 11.) Do not play mind games or gaslight. This is harassment. 12.) Conversing with multiple people use tags to distinguish to whom you speak.
First and foremost, though, we must spread Autistic Pride and self-love. I did not want to admit to having any connection to my fellow Autistics until I was able to accept my own Autism. Even now sometimes I get discouraged and wish I was different. I think Autistic self-defecation should thought as virus that we must try to remedy as soon as possible lest it spread through toxic interaction. This does not we shove pride down are fellow Autistics’ throats, but we must always strive to encourage and uplifting whenever possible.  This again would require us to mutually patient with each other.
One idea I have for unification is reject any ideas that we can be or should be Neuro-typical. We shall not try to be what are not. In do this we should reject Neuro-typical social customs viewpoints. We should instead develop our own Autistic social customs and viewpoints. Thus, establishing Autistic social culture.
As we all know functioning labels divide, silence and stigmatize people across the autistic community. The simplest fly, generalize, and stereotype the experiences of all autistic people. We must never let the neuro- typicals force them on us nor any other autistic. At the same time however, we must be sensitive to the two different ways autistic people struggle. We must never imagine that our experience with autism the same as anyone else’s experience with lot. To demonstrate this point, I’m going to exemplify to members of the autistic community with very different forms of autism without relying on functioning labels.
Many of us know of John Elder Robinson. He is the author of such books as “look me in the eye”, “be different” and others. In both books, he talks about his struggles and talents. Some of his struggles include sensory processing disorder, social ineptness, aversion to eye contact and possibly executive dysfunction. There is natural engineering talents and creativity, he was able to leave home, find employment, incomplete independence, at age 16. (He also grew up in a different time).
This contrasts with the experiences of Carly Fleishman. Carly, who is a brilliant young woman, is a brilliant writer, and has developed quite the charming TV personality has struggles and talents very different to Mr. Robinson. In the memoir she wrote with her father Arthur Fleischman; “Finding Carly’s Voice” Carly is described as being nonverbal, having episodes of intense sensory overload, as well as experiencing more extreme meltdowns and coping with more prominent stemming. Throughout her early in adolescent years Carly has been sent to live in a variety of institutions designed for people with her type of autism. Before she learned to effectively type, or diagnosis also included intellectual impairment. She has recently been nominated for a reward called a “Shorty”, but I am uncertain if she has managed to live independent yet.
Essentially what I’m saying is, we must give recognition to struggles and talents of the Carly Fleishman’s, the John Elder Robinson’s, the Naoki  Higashida’s, Stephen Wiltshire’s and everyone else in between in the autistic spectrum. It might be most convenient, we mapped out different types of autistic. This way be as crude was insensitive as functioning labels but would be more like 16 personality types. It would provide some symbolic shorthand to understand the person struggle and strength, without knowing everything about that person.
If we do not commit ourselves to encouraging self-advocacy and union ship in cooperation with people throughout different autism types, if we say, “oh yes, I am autistic, but I don’t want to be associated with these autistics, because I’m not freak like them,” then we are not really better than those neuro- typical bigots alienate, and discriminate against us. We autistics are also all we have. We must be inclusive as possible to maximize our numbers. If we cannot be inclusive to towards our own people how can we expect neuro- typicals to be inclusive towards us?
Once we have figured out way to bring empowerment, self-love and pride to people across the spectrum must also remember to be intersectional. Intersectional means that while we focus on autistic issues, make ourselves aware that people with identities other than autistic marginalized in different ways and therefore may have different struggles. To illustrate example, I once got accosted with a police officer because he suspected me of smoking cannabis at a town dance. The truth is my eyes were red because I was crying. I couldn’t look him in the eye, because I am in fact autistic and my ability to look people in the eye diminishes as I get more nervous. He thought I was lying in my have arrested me of his partner had pulled him away as he pulled away he shouted, “if you’re lying to me 10 times worse!” Now this was not my only encounter with police. Not my only misunderstanding. It is very common for autistic people to have some dealings police either as a victim or as a suspect. As we are autistic, it can be difficult to be out how to figure these situations and police sir severely under trained to understand or accommodate autistic people. While this incident was fortunate, I will tell you, that would ruin been worse if I were Black. Police tend to unjustly patrol black neighborhoods more and act more hostile towards people of color. If I had been black is much more possible that I would have been arrested and/or beaten by the police. Being intersectional means that we are sensitive to such issues of extra vulnerability to autistics who have extra vulnerability due to belonging to another marginalized demographic.
Being intersectional means that as leaders we do not let the members of our community indulge in any form of bigotry. Mustn’t allow any; racism, six them/misogyny, homophobia, trans-phobia, ablism, Islam phobia, anti-Semitism, classism or any other form of bigotry. (If we criticize any creed or religion we must be careful not to act discriminatory against all the members of that said creed or religion. For example: is perfectly fine to criticize Christianity and other religions for things that homophobia, trans-phobia, misogyny, racism and ablism Etc. but we cannot take this out on a random Christian. We should be accepting of people of differing creed identities under the condition that they are accepting of people different identities as well. Again, if we are not willing to be accepting of people from demographics that are different from us, if we indulge ourselves in bigotry, we are no different than those neuro- typical bigots that alienate discriminate against us.
Once we formed an all-inclusive and all accepting that all intersectional, autistic community we must strengthen it. We need people to feel pride. To do this we must remind people that autism is a pervasive condition meeting affects every aspect of a person. This means that while your struggles are because autism strengths and talents and expertise is also thanks to autism. We must also remind those autistics who have not found self-acceptance, of those autistics across the spectrum are found major success. Again, self-pride is necessary to push one’s self forward on a tough road ahead.
It will also be important for autistics to be experts in autism. We must do this to best understand ourselves and spread awareness to others. Also, I want us all to be old to really drive it home to those neuro- typicals who believe they understand autism better in anyone else that we are the ultimate experts. And we understand autism in ways that no one else can possibly can.
One of the most important things for everyone in the autistic community to know how to do is self-allocate. I will go over this in more detail in a future chapter. It should go without saying that is a tool that carves our path to self-empowerment and control of our own destiny. Self-efficacy is something that autistic children should learn from an early age. We must never allow members of her community to be apologetic for being autistic.
One interesting person has memorized the basics of self-advocacy, they are ready to graduate to social political activism for the entire autistic community. I will also go into more detail on such ideas in a later chapter. Basically, we must make sure people the autistic community are aware of the political and activism tools out their disposal. We must help make sure members over community are aware of how they are being marginalized and how their community the daily subject of social political discussion whether they like to acknowledge it or not. A shocking number of autistics seem to be oblivious facts. Thing to consider is while autism can make it difficult to stand up for oneself against an oppressor, we all must learn to do so.
This has been chapter 1 of my autism community manifesto. And I discussed basic folkways autistics should apply to themselves to get along with the community, how to make sure the community stays all-inclusive and intersectional, how people in the community should be proud aware of their own autism now they should learn how to self-advocate and eventually politically activate for the community. I hope you found it useful so far or at least provocative. Next chapter will discuss stuff out is the and social political activism in greater detail. Until then, this has been Charles McIntyre, power and peace to the community!

5 Ways to Avoid Home-based Business Burnout
Home based professionals, solopreneurs and small business owners do a unique juggling act. There’s nothing like commuting to the room that is next a dress code that includes pajamas, and dealing with kids’ concerts and games. But, the flexibility of working from home has a front and a back. The front is an blessing that is incredible everyone in the household but the back can lead to burnout unlike any other.
As a mother with a home-based coaching/consulting that is international, I coach successful professionals in the same way that Olympic coaches work with athletes. My clients run the gamut from United Nations members, corporate executives to solopreneurs in the US, UK and Canada. Many are parents either based at home or who have created a ongoing work life that highly values family time. They’ve taught me 5 important things about successfully working from home:
1. Expectations:
Discipline is necessary to allow it to be at home but unrealistic standards cause stress. Stay at home moms and dads who aren't running businesses can’t be the standard for those who are. Likewise, people who are on someone else’s payroll can’t dictate work parameters. Too often stay at home workers and the people they should produce full time homemaker results while producing more than full time work results around them believe. People are doing amazing things from dining room tables but unrealistic expectations are a set-up for individual and angst that is social.
2. Boundaries: While home-based organizations break the confines of the standard workweek, they also require constant boundary setting. Many at home workers just don’t set clear ground that is enough like hours of operation, restrictions on interruptions, clarity on whenever it's okay and when it is not to put in laundry, start dinner, do a favor for a friend...
The most successful at home workers allow their inner “diva” to prevail. Family and friends often just don't get it about being self-employed so boundary crossings are an occupational hazard. Women are especially reluctant to say, "even though I'm technically house, I'm not available."
Having the ability to set clear boundaries requires getting enough down and time that is alone; a Catch-22 because it takes serious boundary setting to create that quality of time. Recharging batteries isn’t a luxury. Too few home-based professionals account for cabin fever and the value of fresh air, mental stimulation, and new faces. It’s easy not to know where your boundaries are from the outside if you never get to see them.
3. Scheduling: Especially when kids and/or businesses are young, it's not only tempting but critical to break the work day up - and probably to work extraordinarily late or early hours. Very few jobs in the world require the extreme hat flipping and very few workplaces entail the range of agendas and unique surprises that work-at-home parents handle.
As the kids and/or the company hit subsequent developmental stages, new rhythms have to be established - a task compounded by the number of people in the family. Families and businesses have long range and day-to-day rhythms. It’s important to create leeway in the home-based schedule to account for the inevitable chaos between the times when work and family are in sync with one another. The solopreneur walks a delicate balance between honoring the family rhythm and honoring the rhythm of the diva s/he needs to be to realize professional and potential that is personal.
Since the office is always there, sometimes stay-at-home workers habituate to working whenever they know deep inside that it is the right time to play with a kid or to date their spouse, which leads to all types of social stresses. schmuck basteln zubehoer accessories for ipad It helps to stick with set hours unless specific pre-established requirements kick in, like a large order or a significant deadline, or to schedule time for some extra playtime that is delicious. Publishing a schedule/contract (often done on the refrigerator) and regular meetings with a peer mentor or coach can make all the difference for striking a satisfying balance of priorities.
4. Delegation: one of the primary causes for home-based burnout is the shortage of delegation. Home-based working moms are the superwoman that is quintessential who are expected to do all of it for everybody at all times.
In early years before profits stabilize, most business owners are reluctant to hire enough help to take earnings to the next level. Work at home parents don't hire home and/or business help soon enough and when they do, they spend far time that is too much themselves for getting it. Too little help means not only that the business limps but family needs go unmet. And don’t forget, child labor has a very different meaning in the home-based business household! Let your kids and spouse see just how much they matter - put them on the team. Twenty years of experience tells me that, despite the resistance, you’ll all be glad you did.
5. Support: it could be a tough call between holding firm on your office hours and yielding to a carpool need. On the one hand, you chose your work setup to allow you to say yes to family, but on the other, you have to continually muster what it takes to stand firm for your work. Professional support is the best way to help yourself discern where the lines are and how to negotiate them so everybody wins.
Even they can really enjoy the fruits of their labors if you barter with a colleague for a weekly mutual support call, it’s well worth the time investment because people who coach are better able to frame their unique circumstances so. Home-based professionals/entrepreneurs who use coaches have a grasp that is healthier work/life stability. They not only negotiate distractions a lot more effectively, they work forward so they have a edge that is competitive. Clients who coach develop their visions into reality faster and with more stability than those who don’t. MasterMind group members say the support that is intensive anchor their work and personal stakes and allows them keep their bearings. MasterMind members report a sense of equanimity so that all of the juggling isn’t unsettling.
To prevent or remedy burnout: Rather than focus on failed expectations, weak boundaries, overwhelming hours, the never ending to-do list, etc., take an asset inventory. Take time to list what you’ve accomplished and what assets you bring in terms of talent, commitment, resources, and family that is helpful friends and associates. List what shows up whenever you do, even on a bad day. That’s your real business and personal treasury and it’s easily a few hundred items long!
Also, every right time you feel guilty about not being at work or not being with family, take a moment to appreciate what’s going on and why. No matter how small, find something good about the moment and then expand on that thought, even if you need certainly to start with being thankful for your chair. If you more naturally find gratitude for the big stuff, break it down to articulate just how good it all is. Gratitude will make you more effective in the brief moment and better prepared for what’s next. The act of appreciation has a neuro- and bio-chemical profile that can actually repair burnout symptoms and trigger insight.
It is truly amazing what can be accomplished in shorts and flip-flops, on patios, on the bleachers, and even in beds. At-home business owners and professionals are unsung heroes who are creating brand new social mores, living family that is strong, and accomplishing the American dream.
