Aha, I'm less in the know than you think!! But I can assure you there IS a new trigun, trigun stampede, a reboot which seems to have different takes on some of the characters and themes!! I've not seen it yet and don't plan to for a while (I'm trying very hard to be kind to my brain and at least let the og settle in my head as I read the manga), but what I've heard sounds super cool!!

#in honesty i find the art style a little offputting (it's 3d and i'm sure i'd get used to it given the chance #but rn it feels like looking at a video game) #and i've heard mixed reviews on the character portrayals-- mainly that everyone seems younger and ww is edgier? #my main problem is they REMOVED MILLY #and replaced her with SOME GUY #WHAT COULD POSSIBLY JUSTIFY THAT. HUH #ahem. anyway. from the analysis posts i've been shamelessly reading it has some REALLY cool takes on gendered trauma #and places a new spin on the lore and vash and knives' relationship which all sounds incredible #and yeah overall reviews seem very positive!! #i'd totally encourage you to take a stab at it if you please (and maybe let me know what you think if you do!!) :)) #asks #thetragicallynerdy #kay talks #oh god PLEASE don't let this maintag i'm pretty sure there's enough filler tags at the front #trigun #tristamp #oh wait addition!! i did scrub through tristamp ep1 just to see what it was like and it was very different from what i was expecting #my main takeaway (gleaned all from analysis posts) is that if i'd watched tristamp first i'd be ALL FUCKING OVER IT #but since being a bitchy purist is one of my favorite things to do i might not like it as much just in comparison #it really does sound like a good story though!!!!
