i'd definitely say yours is lore building with a character who, if he existed, would be a 'big deal', and you do it perfectly within the constraints provided. as much as i love 'children of x' ocs, especially if canon doesn't provide them with any, they often don't have just that sense that they are that person's child, or they absolutely change everything in order to make them 'fit'. i have to juggle some of the same balls, putting people like jaina into the sequels, but i don't have to form an entire character that would be a believable child of one of, if not the most beloved character in the franchise, so yeah... you're pretty amazing.

so tldr; your trademark is quality character and lore building.

Perrin deserves it, honestly. That man needs some sense knocked into him.

But yes! I simply adore finnrey. My favorite ships ( of all kinds ) tend to be balanced relationships; where two people are equals in every aspect. And I definitely see that transpiring in a relationship between Finn & Rey. Especially since they embark on their journey of realization together and learn a lot about themselves and each other in the process. They have such a beautiful blend of traits that could make them such a loving, powerful and influential couple who can grow & heal together. And they have such a natural chemistry that manifests beautifully whether in a romantic or even just a platonic relationship.

I think it's pretty obvious that Finn really cares about Rey. He risks his life to save her multiple times. He adores and admires her deeply and sees her as someone he can trust. Which was difficult for him when he was fleeing the First Order. Finn's conscience may have been the catalyst for his defection, but his connection with Rey really helped him discover who he was outside of his conditioning.

Her sentences were measured, her words carefully chosen. Learned and refined by necessity of survival, as opposed to the confident-yet-flawed utterances of those carried through the academies by their zeal and privilege alone. Obscured beneath this cultivated surface was something more. Drive. Dissatisfaction. What he saw before him was a honed blade, underestimated by those around her. Given proper motivation and opportunity, there was much they might accomplish.

“Indeed. Logically, there should be. Initial investment in such a study would surely pale in comparison to many heavy-handed, resource-intensive projects our military has seemingly endless funding for — especially if, for instance, the required infrastructure was already in place.” He clasped his hands together behind his back, lowering his voice slightly. “One must wonder where the priorities lie.”

He knew why such improvements for the common infantry were never a priority. It was made abundantly clear to him, in the Empire’s earliest days, that he and his ilk were expendable assets, to be deployed and discarded as his betters saw fit. The practice remained at the core of the Imperial ideology and its war machine even through the advent of conscription, the unsavory reality painted over by propaganda and promises of advancement. Sheer luck and tenacity allowed him to infiltrate the ranks of his betters, but the knowledge of their sins remained always in the back of his mind.

He wondered if she had connected the dots herself. Something was bothering her. It was a good sign. He preferred those of a like mind.

he doesn't usually travel to this part if the ship. a software malfunction has been driving this team up the wall for a week and mitaka was eager to take a crack at it. a change of scenery was nice. so was a chance to use the skills he worked so hard for in academy. the error was more complicated than he anticipated but mitaka wasn'tcomplaining. compared to his normal shift, this was a vacation. he'd spent over five hours working nonstop. a caf break was way overdue. maybe he'd indulge in a snack. sugar was a source of energy, right? he pressed the button on the caf machine and frowned when a discouraging "brrr" shook the machine. just his luck. the lieutenant sighed and turned to the officer on his right with a weary grin. ❝ please don't tell me it's broken. ❞

    A  flurry  of  thoughts  swarm  behind  a  weary  pair  of  pensive  eyes,  as  @ofblasters​‘s  query  rings  across  the  plane  of  his  conscious  mind.          “What  happened?  This  wasn’t  like  this.”          Ever  analytical,  ever  cautious, —Hux  ponders  exactly  what  data  he  should  convey  to  his  inquisitive  Lieutenant.      ❛  Indeed  it  wasn’t  not,  ❜  The  General  muses,  voice  void  of  cynicism.  His  eyes  gleam  with  mild  exasperation  as  he  observes  the  frayed  wires  of  the  disassembled  charging  station.  While  Lieutenant  Kuroon’s  temperament,  mannerisms  and  background  fail  to  convey  any  potential  animosity  or  ill  intent  toward  Hux  himself  or  the  First  Order,  the  fiery  haired  General  is  inclined  to  practice  discretion  in  the  wake  of  this  incident.  “Someone  is  trying  to  have  me  killed”  is  not  exactly  good  for  morale.  Especially  if  his  suspicions  are  correct  in  regards  to  the  identity  of  the  assassin.

❛  It  was  corrupted  and  therefore  must  be  wiped  and  repaired  to  prevent  the  potential  spread  of  malware  to  any  of  the  droids  aboard  this  ship.  ❜    There  is  a  lightness  that  almost  negates  the  matter-of-fact  undertone  in  his  voice.  The  explanation  is  not  a  lie,  after  all.  Simply  a  limitation  of  truth.    ❛  I  assure  you,  that  the  technicians  will  make  quick  work  of  repairing  it,  lest  the  droids  in  this  wing  suffer  the  misfortune  of  going  uncharged.  ❜

the protective one

it does not require much for you to take someone under your wing. you have a knack for seeing the best in others and rooting for them, and they look up to you in turn. they feel that you are safe to go to in times of chaos or strife, and are calmed by your presence. you take extra measures to make sure everyone feels supported. things that others might not even consider, you have already likely accounted for. in most scenarios, you are "the leader." your struggles tend to come from your desire to provide things to others. you want to give, to see those you love happy, to make wherever you are a place of comfort. your failures hit you hard because you see this as your responsibility, and you hate to let people down. …okay, yes, there's no avoiding it: this is the parent friend.
