The Waters Above

Wakamizu - In Japanese mythology it is a gift for humanity from the moon god, Tsukuyomi. It can be a reward for good deeds a human performs, or simply as the god's benevolence/pity for the suffering of mortals.

Waka-mizu is more aptly translated as the water of youth (where waka - youth and mizu - water). It seems to refer to the same thing as ochi-mizu (rejuvenating, reanimating water).

This was a long time coming. It was for the Hanami event, but as always, I take more time than should be legal to finish my ideas. The associated one shot fic that will make things clearer and (hopefully) better.

Huge thanks to @breezypunk for Goro’s netrunner suit & to @nananarc for the “on location” research upon Japanese myths and beliefs. Two essential things that helped me tremendously.♥️

Long Awaited Sunrise

Almost ready to post the long photostory I have had in my drafts for over a month.

I worked harder on editing this one than I did on the ones that were heavier on gifs. Perhaps because it has quite a lot of dialogue, or perhaps because it is a new and a bit delicate HC that I've had stewing in my brain for years, but never talked much about.

Lately it has definitely been because a certain new muse distracted me a lot...lol

Either way, it's finally almost done and I am incredibly excited and just a bit closer to updating perhaps too. :D <3

Takemura Week 2022

Day 4

There came a day when she had to admit to herself that things weren’t as simple as she thought and especially hoped.

Had they ever been?

The day when everything fell apart and their plan was in ruins, only bare truth mattered and the truth was that she didn’t want him to die. Losing Jackie had left a deep, bleeding mark on her heart and another one would break her completely.

Johnny being so desperate to stop her from saving Goro only spurred her on and made the journey through flames, smoke and Arasaka special forces, more exciting.

Goro shared these thoughts as the dingy room that served as home crumbled around him. Knowing she’d survive gave him the will to accept his own end.

He would stand here, distract the soldiers, keep them away from her, help her escape. It was good, fair, honourable even.

Had he ever had the chance to die for someone he willingly grew affection for? It was freeing, his choice how to leave this plane. His will…

When he saw her running through the flames, bloody, wide eyed and borderline crazed, he almost resented her. He had made his choice and she took that away from him.

“Why did you return? You’ll die here with me!” He bellowed over the roar of the flames. Only later he would realize that he had been rough, insulting even in his tone, but she had answered in kind.

“Shut up, Goro. Help me get out of here! Not gonna let you die. Can’t afford it…”

Blood and smoke and fire and screams. A blur of blades and bullets, her sword swishing brightly, electric blue runes a blur, blending in with the absolute chaos around them.

The sickening, humid air of NC felt crips and clean when they finally broke through the heavy doors outside.

Johnny took his revenge just then and as the relic glitches cut like blades through her brain and she fell to the ground, she swore at him, knowing full well he did it intentionally and that he could hear her loud and clear.

Smeared in blood, rain and smoke, her sword clattering loudly and the runes extinguishing like blue coals, he cradled her and shook her hard, almost violently.

He had to run. They had to run… He had to take her somewhere… But where?
