i watched dead poets society (yes, again, this time with my mom and sister) and like. yeah. Yeah. good movie.

#dont understand how its put into the whole Dark Academia category despite the fact that (at least to me) it reads like a heavy criticism #of the whole thing but honestly i dont care about the aesthetic when this movie is just so damn good #i Do have more ideas about the whole 'criticism of dark academia' thing if anyones interested but like that has to wait for tomorrow bc i #worked too hard today and its too late for me to have spoons to explain. #dead poets society #wait correction on these tags: #obviously i know Why its put into the Dark Academia category and thats bc of the aesthetic #but i genuinely think that only viewing it through that lens does a great disservice to the movie #it has so much more to say than just that and is rather self aware for This Kind Of Stuff imo. #this isnt about the dark academia fantasy of boarding school and sneaking out and mysteries. its about a bunch of teenage boys #fucking around and living life. like its not about some very Prestigious Experience its about. life #the things the characters aspire to or want or like are kind of the opposite of the environment theyre forced into #agh. i need to make a post. someone send me an ask about this and ill reply in about 10 hours give or take. #cg.txt
