I need get this out of my head. But whats yamato(one Piece) damn gender? People keep saying different things all the time. Some say "you can't call yamato trans because oda hasnt comfrimed anything." Like the thing is just so messed up.

I apologise for sounding so dumb. But ever since I got introduced to yamato things had been so confusing

Please help.

Oh baby, you don't sound dumb at all, this can be a little hard to understand if don't are a trans male, but I will try to help

So here a quick and easy explanation about wtf is Yamato's gender!

First, when we learn about Yamato they said that Kaido have a daughter, then at first you would think, okay its a girl? Not exactly

That was said for people outside of Wano, who only know about the birth gender of Yamato, since Kaido doesn't let him leave Wano is kind of obvious that no one would know about the way he identifies himself, so people know him as Oni princess

adding this to the fact that in the Vivre card, a book with a lot of facts about the chars, is write that Yamato is a woman, a lot of people get confused and even use that last info to say that Oda confirms that he is a girl

But the important thing is: ODA DOESN'T WRITE THE VIVRE CARD, THIS BOOKS WRITING BY OTHERS ARTIST AND ROTERISTS OF ONE PIECE

So, we need to get based on things that Oda really said, what it means, let look at the manga!

After we have this about Kaido daughter, doesn't take too long to finally meet Yamato, and guess what

Everyone in Kaido crews calls him a boy??? Not only that, the Kaido himself calls Yamato his son??? Wait, this is getting confusing right?

The thing is, Yamato was called a girl, we can't deny that... BUT FOR THE REST OF WANO HE WAS ONLY REFERRED TO AS A BOY!

Yamato is called by son by his own father kaido, Yamato is called as young Master and not other title that girls used to have, like young lady

Yamato is referred by Luffy as a boy, and even called Yama bro, Yamato has the honofic of MALE SAMURAIS, Yamato even have the Japanese refer to boy, like Nami and Robin have gain the O in front of their names

Yamato literally Y both male Japanese and English pronouns, and guess what, HE IS EVEN TOLD TO BE THE SHOGUN, A MALE TITLE

AND IF IS NOT ENOUGH, YAMATO GOES TO THE MALE SHOWER WITH ALL THE BOYS WHEN KIKU (A CANNON TRANS FEM) GOES TO FEMALE SHOWER

YES DUDE ODA ALREADY TOLD US THE GENDER OF YAMATO AND HE IS A BOY!

So, then why people call him a girl? Why people insist on that?!

First of all, because they are transphobic

Yeah, you can't deny boy, if you don't see Yamato as a boy after all of Oda show, then yes you are a transphobic

Those transphobic say like "Oh but there are boobs!"

First, everyone has boobs, and of course, Yamato would have, he is not doing any hormonal stuff! Also, he is a fighter, he can't use a binder or he probably will faint in the middle of the battles

And guess what, not all trans male people want to get rid of their boobs! Woooow, so incredible right???

After that, people use the argument of like, he is called one princess, kaido daughter! Bla bla bla

What again is not a strong argument since he is also called as kaido son

The most strong argument they have is "Yamato only says he is a man because Oden is a man and he wants to be like Oden!"

So again if you are cis you won't understand that, but this is actually a common way to trans masc people say that they are a boy

The same way that Kiku says she is a woman in her heart, saying that you want to be or that you are a boy like a man person is used by trans male people

As an example, I always say to myself that I want to be a boy like Luffy or Ace because that is a way to motivate myself to never give up, is also a goal, I want to be see as a boy much as they are seeing by other people, makes sense?

And even if Yamato is only a boy because he is following Oden, at the end of wano he says to Luffy that he won't follow more Oden, because now he wants to be only Yamato and have his own dreams

And guess what, weeks later of he said that, people still refer to him as a boy! Because he is a boy doesn't have anything with Oden!

Oden was the inspiration for Yamato to discover himself and also a way to fight against the cruelty of Kaido

But when he has his dream fulfilled, that is wano be free, he is still a boy! Because being a boy wasn't a joke or just a term for him, he is truly a boy and he knows it!

So yeah, Yamato is a boy and if you don't accept that you are really dumb and transphobic, but like I said, if you are a cis person you probably won't get it that

Because oda has to be really careful saying that Yamato is a boy, because you know how Japan is, also he made that because guys, oda is a cis old man, he doesn't know the best way to do this

But he did a great job with Yamato and Kiku, they are some of the best trans people written and they even show too much

If you read Wano again looking more carefully for each signal, you gonna see that Yamato is always called a boy, and the only times he is not, is for people that don't really know him before that

The final result: YAMATO IS A FUCKING HOT GUY AND HE CAN CALL GOOD SLUT AND I WILL BARK FOR HIM

important things to know about one piece if u know nothing else:

luffy IS going to be the pirate king

yamato is a man

o-kiku is a woman

don't let zoro wander off on his own, he WILL get lost

swords and boats are alive/have spirits/souls

nami wasn't stupid for trusting arlong to uphold his end of their deal, she was a literal Child

hancock's obsession w/ luffy is caused by her trauma and is NOT funny/cute, even if oda wants it to be interpreted that way

Brook and Laboon WILL be reunited someday

usopp is NOT a coward actually and deserves better

robin got utterly destroyed by the anime and it's actually so tragic

Whitebeard is the best and most present father in the whole series

sanji is Gross and in the real world would be on at least one government list probably

franky has laser beams in his nipples. there's nothing more to say

songs to play at funerals—chapter 1041 spoilers

Okay, so we get Zunesha and Momonosuke’s besties relationship, and Yamato’s knowledge of Oden’s journal, and that rapscallion Oden, tore out the crucial pages about Laugh Tale (or did he)?

AND we get the Five Elders giving impossible orders to both the remaining CP0 and Drake overhears, I think. Whole page. And watch out for the last panel.

It’s interesting too that CP0 feel for their colleagues here. We haven’t seen that before. And even the Elders aren’t privy to all the details (or CP0 isn’t)?

Maybe because it’s Im’s instruction? Got the feeling that Izou’s playing dead there, but just in case he isn’t, take the panels below.

Okay, we do not want that to be the end of Izou. Nup. Nope. Never. Was it @ninhaoma-ya who noticed the foreshadowing on this last chapter? AND, CP0 asks:

why Izou was there wanting to help out, and so the family connection, and Wano connection is unknown. Man, I’m gonna be so sad if it’s curtains for Izou.

But I wonder also if the Whitebeards being involved links into something larger. Maybe Raizou is also referring to this his talk of ‘preparations’. After all, why did Nekomamushi deliberately seek out Marco? For the past connection, for sure, but is there something else in those ripped-out pages of the journal?

It seems that CP0 would’ve known that Ace was Luffy’s brother, so—not dismissing that connection, but why wouldn’t they think that the Whitebeards would help Luffy? Not knowing about the Kiku connection is another thing altogether and very poignant.

Okay, so Kiku and Kin’emon are hanging by a thread, and so is this guy (above. Our man Zoro). He’ll be okay, but, and these two (below) are knocking on death’s door, or will be if Kaidou (or any other opponent) comes down/out to play:

So last chapter I said it was unusual that Law was upright after such a wild ride, ant “THUD”, there you go, he’s out for the count.

Kid too. Law said, and Kid agreed, that their awakened powers would put them in jeopardy. It was a great fight. Don’t care what unawakened dude bros say anywhere, I loved it.

Now, also a chapter of bullies somewhat getting their comeuppance:

Pudding’s not happy with the Vinsmokes, but more so, Komurasaki plays the song that her father requested he play at his funeral, he loved it so much (and caused her to cry for the day). The below is from chapter 973.

And Nami crediting Law, and Luffy crediting Kid (or Tora-o and Giza-o: Like, credit can only be given on Straw hat terms, and fair enough), the crews kinda know their names:

But that brings us to Lin-Lin, and Kaidou’s Weepy Drunk stage. Man, I guess the Emperors need to be taken out, but I don’t want to think it’s the end of Big Mom. I’m not surprised that the woman got taken out first, or in conjunction with Kaidou, but at least her strength wasn’t underestimated, even if she was basically a running gag. Though I know aspects of all the emperors and bad guys are lampooned.

Kaidou’s still as drunk as, and it seems he was a quiet kid. I’m not gonna show that panel, but Big Mom asks if he knows how to talk and asks how old he is, 15? (yup).

Now that I think about it, he says, we were great friends! Sentimental drunk is sentimental. Even if we say he’s weeping. And she did rule the seas of certain domains. Vale Big Mom, if it really is an end.

Oh, Carrot, Wanda and Neko are going in to the castle (I think), or away from the edge of the island. Nami and Zeus cement the contract between them, Marco is with Toko, Nami, and Toko’s dog and baboon (I know they have names. Forgive me). Luff’s fighting, of course.

Yamato One Piece is a man. Full stop. He is a trans man. IDK how many times he has to say that he is a man, how many times everyone refers to him as a man for y’all to fucking figure it out.

If you’re fine only with O-Kiku being a trans woman bc she fits your ideal as what a woman should look like but not with Yamato then you need to fuck all the way off.

This is better than Bon Clay.

Ok, I'll go in order but I just wanna say I love Kaido's daughter, or son I don't know, they introduced her as daughter but she says she's a man, I'm gonna go with she because that's what the introduction says, for O-kiku Oda made it clear she was a woman, Yamato feels a bit more ambiguous for now. I fucking love the fact that she's so strong, also if she really is trans I love the fact that Kaido supports him because he refers to him as his son. Pronouns can be overwhelming when you don't know what to use.

That front piece was beautiful, I snorted, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Jinbe and Robin are like Russian spies, totally man, totally. I wanna see this bit animated.

We're back on the yellow submarine, climate change is real on Wano. I always see Law in action and think he's so cool, but then I remember what a huge nerd he is.

I love Marco, I've said it before, I'll say it forever, I love that chicken, and now he went after a shadow. Izo 😭🙌🏻 we all knew but still, love his design.

Oh look, the backstreet boys. Momo is so tiny in comparison to Kaido, poor boy.

Just how old is Yamato? At least 30 if she was like 10 when Kaido died, now that she'll see Momo is alive I wonder if she'll want to fight for him, maybe she'll give him the journal, that has "many important things" written in it, something about Joy Boy? And she knew Ace? Like just how much did Ace learned about Wano, he's like Luffy so it surprised me to know he didn't tried to free Wano, maybe Yamato told him they had to wait for the one who carries Joy Boy's will, maybe Yamato knows it's Luffy by the description on the journal? And maybe she's been following his journey.

At least Yamato is on the good side and she seems strong so that's good news. I'm just waiting for tragedy to hit me at this point, we're getting way too many good news.
