It reminds him of that pensive way she'd looked in the passenger seat when he'd dropped her off at JFK, eyes full of longing and then quiet resignation when neither of them had reached across the gearshift. And then she'd gotten out of the car and never come back.

Benny suddenly realizes he doesn't care about circumspect behavior in public or the two relative strangers in the front seat anymore. He's already made a thirty six hour poker run, dropped three grand and flown more than four thousand miles in order to be right here – the whole fucking world probably knows exactly how he feels, and yet Beth still doesn't seem to.

So he closes those last few inches between them definitively, and the way she whimpers with relief and kisses him back, burying her fingers in his hair and dragging him close – god, this was exactly the welcome he wanted.

Most people who read my obscure body swap crossover fic Bound (Arya/Gendry, GoT x KNNW) were people scrolling the Gendrya tag who took a chance on it. The hits were dismal but the comments were awesome! This one was particularly nice because this was my first attempt at a crossover and the commenter found it off a link on my DW and wasn’t actively in the fandom.

“Oh wow, this is fantastic. Really, really excellent work. Striking the right balance in a fusion is tricky, but you’ve made it look effortless; the Your Name inspiration is clear, but you’ve taken the concept and done your own thing with it, making it fit the characters and the world you’re working with. You’ve got an incredibly readable style, too, which is great for this.

I’m nervous about where this could possibly be going, but I’m hugely looking forward to finding out. I’m so glad I clicked on this; what a wonderful fic!”

outside of this fandom, i would kill to write like meg cabot. a true queen among us.

within the gendrya fandom, i could go on and on. like, does it get better than @scrubclubwrites. than @yanak324. than @arsenicandfinelace. i think in terms of style and flow and general storytelling, those are my main influences, but i cannot sing the praises of people in this fandom enough. the power of that one grain sack scene….iconic.
