Crewfu Appreciation Week!

Day 4: Alternate Universe

DND AU LOL

I made this au with my darling, dnd-nerd bestie m’s help, thank you ever so much king <3

Steve – Tiefling Bard

Dumbdog – Half-Orc (possibly Quarter-Orc, he isn’t sure) Druid

Ellum – Half-Orc Paladin

Koji – Partial-Dwarf (just a liiittle bit dwarfish, mostly human) Wizard

Baycon – Half-Elf Ranger

Gumi – Half-Gnome/Half-Elf Fighter

Cib – Satyr Bard

DK – Dwarf Sorceror

(note: this au is not as fleshed out as I’d like, so I do not have too many characters. Basically just the people I obsess over the most adfklgjhdakg sowwyyyy. But I have lots of shit for the top 6! I digress)

So, here’s how it goes down. This was an au that I made up a few weeks ago as I was literally learning how to play dnd. So it's less of a real dnd game mechanics thing, and more of… what if they were placed in a random generic medieval dnd world lollll I think that would be sick as fuckkkk

...but also with some vague, cherry-picked nerd rules applied here and there as I saw fit because I'm god here.

I have some scattered lore.

The main adventuring party consists of: Steve, Dumbdog, Ellum, and Koji. The reason Baycon and Gumi are not a part of it is because they are too awesome and sexy and good and dope and they would solve every single problem instantaneously, so that had to get nerfed.

(Also, I literally only have Cib there because I wanted Steve to have a language shared with Cib (I went on dndbeyond and made character sheets for all of them shut up) and so I just made Cib's character barebones for that)

(Also DK is a side character in a random plot idea, I had nothing else for him I'm so sorry DK. Him being a sorceror is sick tho, he got that au naturahl magic!! Idk I think it's more fun than him just being a wizard, idk idk :) )

Scattered, very messy lore

So, Steve and Dumbdog grouped together first. I imagine that Dumbdog seeked out a party because of [general conflict + plot reasons, he needed to make a party!] and OH YEAH I FORGOT, I dreamed up a whole scenario where Dumbdog went searching for adventurers in Steve’s city (Steve lives in a huge busy medieval ass city that’s pretty much in the middle of the world, so that's why. Thought it would be fun to make it kinda like LA but also just like the world epicenter idk) and he just went into a gambling den to look for ppl to join him, cause sure. Why not. There's probably some adventurous people there. And he kinda sucked at gambly games, but he was GREAT at cheating at them without people knowing. Steve frequents whatever den it is, not to gamble but literally just to watch other ppl gamble for his own entertainment. He sometimes performs/plays his instrument there (I'm thinking a zither? Or a dulcimer for technicality, I guess. It's basically the first version of a keytar, prove me wrong) but he's also self conscious about it, so not often.

Anyways, Steve thinks Dumbdog is cool cause he’s watching from the sidelines as this guy cheats without getting caught. Something about an among us parallel. Blah blah blah, they talk, Steve calls him out for cheating but says he thinks it's cool, dd tells steve that he's looking for an adventuring party to [go on some plot-related adventure] with, and I forget why but they end up dueling. I think it was some kinda dick-measuring competition to make sure they thought each other was sick nasty enough to adventure with, and it was sick nasty cause dd has druid magic and steve has wicked riff bard magic, they went stupid went crazy. Okay cool. Now they're emerging besties who bond over music (dd plays instruments, not for bard magic (tho maybe he'll double class one day idk how double classing works whatever im god) so they bond over mad jammin and nerdy technical music shit) and also being bastards. Instant friends.

...And then they go adventuring and just immediately get their asses kicked. Because literally neither of them are healers/have any healing spells. So, they go on the lookout for a healer to add the the party. Like Steve jus joins dd's quest to look for party members, he's just fully on board now! Let's go.

And okay, I don't remember exactly how or when or why but they get Ellum on board to join the team, and he's is a badass half-orc paladin he's fuckin awesome and a healer. Dd and Ellum bond over half-orc tingz while Steve and Ellum bond over being little losers. Then it’s the three of them for a while, and then they eventually pick up Koji (somehow or other) who’s a sick wizard who def has like One healing spell but also probably some bastard spells, you know me. There’s some funny goofs and gaffs about Koji being a vegetarian/vegan, but now their party is all kitted out!! Thicc ass party!

...Listen, I did have thoughts on Ellum and Koji's backgrounds, but I never wrote them down and now I can't remember shdhseh. One day I'll fix those up but this is all I have for today leave me alone jhshdjsj you'll live

Baycon and Gumi are the only people of tha characters (so far) who live in Steve’s city. Well, Baycon is a ranger who lives on the outskirts of the town, but it counts. He lives in a fuckin treehouse that HE built, and it’s sick. Steve+party go back and forth across the world n shit on their adventures, and bc Steve’s-city-that-desperately-needs-a-name is the mufuckin epicenter, they pass through/by it often and shack up with Baycon at his sick treehouse, or they at least drop by for a visit, whenever they do. Idk how they met each other initially. Baycon and Steve probably knew each other first, or met through other ppl that don't exist in this au yet. I digress.

The party actually asked Baycon to join their party as well, to go on sick nasty adventures with em (I'm thinking this was before they got Koji on the team), and he considered it. But he eventually turned them down for a few reasons. 1. He’s a fuckin homebody and likes his little treehouse, and he’s kinda like a solo vigilante outpost out here, so he doesn’t really wanna abandon his town. Responsibility to his role or whatever. And 2. Gumi would fuckin kill him.

Gumi is a guard for the city, idk who runs the guard but basically she's a small strong ass city guard and she's sooooo fuckin cool. She isn't actually suuuper loyal to the guard as like a group, but its her job and she vibes with the coworkers. $14/hr kinda vibes yk. She sometimes abandons her post to go and hang out at Baycon’s, and Baycon will sometimes stroll up to the city walls and shout up at her while she's patrollin. It's real cute, they’ll walk together, Gumi up top of the wall and Baycon on the ground below and ueueueuee I love them. So yeah Gumi would fuckin kill this mans if he left to go adventuring, like bitch!!! He already doesn't live in town so she has to drag her ass out to his stupid ass treehouse to see him!!! He'd never do that to her 💔😡

And also just for fun, here's the minimal amount of lore I have for the other charas mentioned:

DK lives in a town way far ass away (Florida equivalent) that the party adventures to one time, he's a bartender who sells mad wicked dwarf alc (ty m for his entire character jsfhdhe I did nothing).

Cib is Steve's bard bestie they definitely had a bard bros thing going on for a while, idk where he lives tho. He definitely DID live in Steve's town for years while they did their bard bestie thing, but there's prolly gonna be some lore about mans not living there anymore so Steve's willingness to go adventuring with the new group makes sense. I'm so sorry you're just a support character luv, you deserve so much better

Anyways so that’s kinda the vibe of relationships. Now it's time for how they look 🥰🥰 I wish I could draw, but I can't so you'll have to live with my descriptions 🖕 I'll try my best

I also worked out all their spells in my little dndbeyond sheets but whatever, that's too nerdy to list today, okay anyways

Their looks

Steve – so mans is a tiefling. He’s also cute af! I’m thinking gazelle-esque horns, reddish/maybe-a-tiny-bit-purpleish skin (idk why I'm imagining it like makeup guru highlighter on his cheeks and nose and shit?? Mans is glowing?? But I digress), fun rose gold eyes (FOR THE FLAVOR) without the irises and pupils and shit, flat rose gold yuh the tiefling way, and tha tail. I've just been imagining a little devil tail tbh, ik that probably isn’t accurate to tieflings but whateverrrr. Okay fine, it's a realistic looking purpley/red tail (red rocket) BUT with a lil cliche classic devil arrow/pitchfork tip-of-the-tail there ya go. Then also just his normal ol hair 🤗

Dumbdog – okay this is the fun one. So the reason I said he may be only a little bit orc is. is bc. He… he's a half-orc that looks almost completely human-shaped except for him being Very tall, and having Big Ol Fuckin Chompers. Got tha big ol fuckin TUSKS yessss. But he's Very Physically Weak and Frail because I think it’s hilarious. He’s got a good bit of dark green tint to his skin tho, like you can tell he’s an orc. He’s just a little fucked up and I love him for it. Also LONG HAIR DD SUPREMACY. AND FULL BEARD NOT THE TRIMMED ONE HE NORMALLY HAS (AND HE HAS THE BEARD BC OF THAT POSSIBLE MORE-THAN-HALF-HUMAN BLOOD). EAT MY ASS HIS HAIR IS SOLIDLY TO HIS SHOULDERS. AND HE LOOKS GREAT.

Ellum – God I love ellum so fucking much. So he’s a proper half-orc, big n beefy and strong as fuck, tall as fuck, god he’s so fuckin cool. Gray-greenish skin I guess? God he’s so fucking cool I don’t have a crush on him shut up. He’s got his cool shaved haircut, the shit he has now, and god it looks so fuckin cool with the orc traits. BUT. One thing. He has. Teeny. Teeny weeny little orc tusks. It’s the Only thing dd has on him in orcishness. Dd’s got big proper tusks and ellum’s got lil baby ones, except they're full-grown for him. And that's on god, and they look Adorable. He’s taller than dd tho by a solid 2-3 inches, but they’re both at least 2 inches taller than themselves irl.

Koji – He literally looks exactly the same. 100% normal. The only difference is that he’s like… a couple inches shorter than irl, 5’10ish, and his beard is… maybe just a little bit fuller, if such a thing is even possible. Still looks human af tho. However he’s got dwarf traits on the inside thumps chest. Also his hair is split-dye bc of magic sorry I don't make the rules

Baycon – half-elf 🥰 he got tha elf ears 🥺🥰 I don't have a crush on him I don't I don't I don't anyways so he has kinda coppery-green tint to his skin (he’s specifically part wood elf) and his eyes are still blue, BUT with lil flecks of gold/copper shit in it. God it's pretty in my head bro. ANYWAYS got his normal lil blonde hair it’s all cool. He just looks fuckin cool. God he’s cool.

Gumi – SHE'S SO FUCKIN COOL. HALF-ELF HALF-GNOME, THATS SICK. By the way, she and baycon share like 3 languages (common, elvish and gnomish. Baycon learned gnomish for her. Also unrelated, baycon knows sylvan for unrelated reasons but it’s cool cause he and Steve have that in common too, just randomly, it's lit. anyways back to gumi). Her skin has a lil silvery-blue tint to it (part moon elf specifically) and her eyes are dark pink, it’s sick af. Long black hair mhm, and idk how tall she is irl, I assumed she was over 5 feet so I shrunk her down for half-gnome reasons. She’s 5’0 even now.

God I wish I could draw. In my head they all look so fuckin cool 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Their weapons

Steve – zither, shortbow, and a dagger (like I said before, dulcimer/zither/box zither: basically the og keytar) (and it’s fucking disgusting how accurate he is with the bow. Sickening. He literally rivals Baycon’s aim, and as a ranger vs a bard it’s EMBARRASSING.)

Dumbdog – club (literally just a fancy-lookin, beat-em-up version of a stick. Cause- cause dog), and a light crossbow. He also has a lyre, not as a weapon tho; he just has it (Steve is also proficient in lyre so they bond)

Ellum – handaxe, longsword, and a shield (literally just wanted him to look like a classic hero type with big sword and shield)

Koji – dagger, and a rod (his arcane focus thing, it prolly looks silvery and emo and punk and cool) (he also probably has one of those wiggly-blade daggers for his little aesthetic god I love him)

Baycon – longbow, and 2 shortswords (he has the fighting style where when he dualwields weapons he has a little bonus. Because I think Baycon dualwielding swords would look cool as shit. And then he also has a massive ass longbow. My little ranger who looks so sprunkly and cool)

Gumi – hand crossbow, heavy crossbow, and a maul (so not only is she a freakin god with a little 1 handed crossbow and a massive ass 2 handed crossbow, she also has a giant 2 handed hammer weapon. gOD she’s cool. She has the fighting style where 2 handed weapons give ya a lil bonus)

I decided to make it so the valorant people all have some variation of bows/crossbows because I thought it was fucking funny

And that’s it tbh. I need to work on this au a lot more ajsdfhkgjd but I love it so much and it truly drives me coco bananas to think about,,, I have No plot ideas whatsoever besides one brainworm where they have to visit steve’s parents, but fuck it and whatever, dude. I love it and I hope you like it too. If anybody wants to know more about their stats or more info or literally anything please for the love of god message me, because I like talking about this au so god damned much, and even if I don’t know the answer I will make it up on the spot and then boom that’s this au even more fucking fleshed out.
