That being said..

Scorbunny has an everstone. Inspired by Mellysketches 's drawing of Bennett and Scorbunny (and also the yellow patch on the nose looks like Benny's nose bandage).

Kantonian Vulpix is just vibes I think; may have been inspired by an old fanart I saw and lost.

Absol's chosen for how previous pokedex entries describe it as an ill omen/ the "disaster pokemon" and how it sorta matches up with Bennett's bad luck. She'd definitely have a mega stone if her trainer's bad luck didn't make it difficult to find any /j

Blissey has a few reasons. Last I recall, they're some of the pokemon commonly paired with Nurse Joy in the Pokemon Center (for some regions, though blanking on which). I thought it matched Bennett's healer kit, but also made sense with his frequent injuries. The pokemon's egg is technically used to make people happy and not actually heal them, but that also fit to me because of Bennett's special dish.

Wooloo is half vibes and half based on its Sword dex entry: "Its curly fleece is such an effective cushion that this Pokémon could fall off a cliff and stand right back up at the bottom, unharmed."

Togedemaru is because of its Moon dex entry: "The long hairs on its back act as lightning rods. The bolts of lightning it attracts are stored as energy in its electric sac." He caught one to see if that'd help him not get struck by lightning as much. The pokemon's presence did very little.

#ask games #me when i forget my own ask games /lh #not sure which would be his partner pokemon though. highly inclined to say Scorbunny or Blissey #I also had 2 thoughts for Blissey's origin- a wild pokemon that took pity & stuck around for awhile 'til Benny decided to catch her; OR a #gift from the Adventurer's Guild (one of his dads probably) when he set off for his first adventure. not sure if they'd be fully evolved or #not by then though- I doubt it. Maybe a Chansey? #I also had Quilava as an option but swapped for Togedemaru
