Today has been an incredible day! I had the pleasure of meeting so many people who took time out of their day to come and see my exhibition. We are looking at David Hockney this week. He’s such a wonderful and interesting artist. Two of the students wanted to do their initial sketch from observation like he does so say on the step of my studio. I have been working this term on encouraging the children to really look at their subjects and try to draw only what they see. That doesn’t necessarily mean it needs to be completely accurate, it just means to draw what interests them and what feels right. Hockney does the same, hence why his landscape paintings are so bright and colourful. Turn your brightness up and admire the glisten! I made this ink from snow berries not thinking much of it so I left it in an open glass ready to chuck it in the sink. Only to find two days later after testing it again it looks like it has glitter in it! I think the salts have started to recrystallise.
