For every § I receive I will say one random fact about my muse

Botta is actually very good at sewing, even beyond just repairing clothes. He learned how to sew from his mother, and would often help her with larger projects, especially since his older brother and sister were often gone on the ships with his father and grandfather. After they lost most of their family it was Botta who dealt with the clothing for his little sister and himself. For all that she loved pretty dresses her stitches were still clumsy and she had a talent for jabbing herself with the needle.Even among the Renegades Botta still helps with the sewing, from repairing a beloved stuffed toy or doll clothes for kids or more complicated requests. More than once when Botta’s been hunted down by a Renegade for help with formal and even wedding attire. As one captain put it “ just because a girl can take down a dozen Desians barehanded doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to look like a fairy tale for special events”. Botta actually finds sewing relaxing and enjoys doing something that could be considered comparatively normal chores in his spare time.

As stated before, Botta had a few siblings. Unfortunately the majority of his family died before he even knew about the Renegades. What most people don’t know is that his older sister was still alive. She had left Palmacosta about two years before most of their family was wiped out, due to a Desian recruiter harassing her. Arianne was a very intelligent girl and a gifted mage. She was sick being harassed whenever she was home, and sick of them bothering her mother and younger siblings when she was out with the ships, so she eventually slipped out of Palmacosta and settled in Luin. She lived there for a few years before the Desians eventually found her and began trying to recruit her again. She eventually did join the Desians, as a Renegade spy. The family resemblance between her and Botta isn’t obvious, and the Desians never really paid much attention to her little brother all those years ago any way. She’s been leaking information to the Renegades and subtly sabotaging Desian projects for years, but no one has figured it out yet. (If anyone remembers the thread where Botta’s exsphere evolves and he becomes an angel, she was eventually discovered and killed by Pronyma in that verse, which was the main catalyst for his transformation)

And finally because this post seems to be centered on family factoids; while Botta does love those he calls family and will seriously ruin the day of anyone who harms his family, there are somethings he doesn’t like to talk about. When he was growing up his parents and grandfather did their best to raise Botta and his siblings to be accepting others, be they half elves or full blood humans and elves. People were to be judged for their actions, not their heritage. Unfortunately not everyone in Botta’s extended family shared their ideals. Botta’s mother came from several generations of half elves, some whom held rank among the Desians. Botta’s maternal uncle was one of those. His mother’s brother was a sadistic and ruthless man who could have been in good company with the likes of Kvar and Rodyle. Botta’s uncle was a candidate to become a Grand Cardinal, and likely would have been appointed. Why wasn’t he? He didn’t live long enough fill the position. It wasn’t a rival Desian; it was Botta himself who made sure his never got the power to back his sadistic ambitions.
