I DUNNO THE LAYOUT IS JYST VERY CNFYSING AND I CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO DO WITU THE DRAGONS..? LIKE DO I JUYST PLAY MINIGAMES AND FEED THEM OR..? /GEN /NM THERES JUTS NOT MUCH EXPLANATION
OK OK WHEN I FINISH THE OTHER PARTS I'LL REBLOG THIS W/ THEM BUT FOR NOW WE'LL FOCUS ON THE FIRST SECTION: CLAN.
Tumblr media
This is the Flight Rising Main Menu! Here, you'll find links to almost everything there is to do. As you can see I have numbered a few things 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Today I will quickly explain 6 and then go into detail about 1, Clan.
6 is your food bar. If you keep all the dragons in your lair fed above 80% for 3 days you will get:
+5 gathering turns a day
1 gem each day
250 treasure per day
15% more experience battling in the Coliseum
Now that that's done, lets look into Clan!
Tumblr media
When you click on clan, you will get something similar to this. I also have labeled this 1-6 for convenience. Let me explain what each thing is:
Nesting grounds! When you pair two dragons together, a male and female, you can get between 1-5 eggs. These eggs take 5 days to hatch. Each day you have to press an 'incubate' button in order to get them to hatch. When you press 'incubate' on the last day, you have to wait for the next day to hatch them. Also dragons do have a breeding cool down. This is a key feature in the game.
Dragons! This one I felt needed a diagram, as it has so many features.
Tumblr media
There is a feed button(1). After gathering items and turning them into food points, you can feed your dragons in order to get the bonuses explained at the top of the page. There is a settings option(2):
Tumblr media
In the settings you can get more lair space using treasure(1) which means you can hold more dragons. You can also buy tabs(2) which are used to store dragons(See: the tabs named 'Lair, Lore Hatchery, MBS, TBS'), you can add a description(3) of each tab for organization purposes, and you can move dragons to either a new tab(4) or the Hibernal Den(5).
Tumblr media
The Hibernal Den(3 in Clan overview, 5 in Lair Settings) is an extra place to store dragons. It functions really the same as the lair, with a few changes. Once you put a dragon in the Hibernal Den and take it back out, it has a cooldown before it can go back in. Another thing is once a dragon is in the Hibernal Den, it cannot be fed, bred, bonded with familiars, traded via Crossroads, sold on the Auction House, put on a Coliseum team, or exalted. The upside to this is A) more space in lair, B) doesn't get 'hungry'/doesnt need to be fed. The final change is that more space in the hibernal den can either be achieved by gathering certain amounts of items, or paying with gems.
Tumblr media
Now back to the basic lair, I do not need to explain number 5, the tabs, as those already have been explained. Number 4 is just the dragons in your lair. You click on it and you can see the dragon, give it a familiar, write a bio for it, dress it up, and more.
Tumblr media
Now moving on to 3.
Tumblr media
In the gathering area you can gather, dig, scavenge, etc 15 times(1). Now hunting, fishing, insect catching, and foraging are all ways to get food to feed your dragons(2, 2, 2, and 2.). Digging and scavenging give you different types of materials(3, 4), some only found in certain locations. You can also occasionally get money chests from digging.
Tumblr media
I'm gonna get 4 and 6 out of the way because my hands are getting so tired. In 4:
Tumblr media
you can write about what you do and stuff, you can see your friends, you can make posts in the forums, and you can see your recent activity(hatchlings and stuff).
Last but not least in the Clan section, is the Hoard.
Tumblr media
Number 1 is the categorizing tabs, in each tab is the different things you get. Number 2 is how you switch between the hoard and the vault(hoard but shinier, i use it to shove extra money in there so i have both backup cash and to stop my bad spending habits.) 3 is when you select food(little boxes by the number of how much you have) or when you select all(5) you can convert the food to points and that is how you feed your dragons. Also if youve selected stuff you can put it in the vault(4)
I hope you're proud of yourself(i think something in my hand is broken from all this typing and working and stuff) (plus im not even done-) /silly /lh

TEXAS
30 Jan 2019 (Wed) – We packed up and left Abilene around 10 a.m.  We drove over 200 miles to Seminole, right on the border between Texas and New Mexico. During the drive, we went past miles of oil pumps slowly rising and falling as they pull the oil out of the earth. We went past a very large oil field, and at times, could even smell petroleum in the air.  The place we are staying has about ten cabins and ten campsites. All but one of the campsites was taken and all the cabins were rented by workers in the oil fields.  The sites and cabins are all in a line right next to the main highway.  The traffic noise was very loud all night long.  On the other side of the row of campsites were a large field plowed under and a large refinery in the distance.  There was a tower with a flame burning on top.  That always seems to me to be a big waste of fuel.  The place stunk of petroleum.
After we got set up, we drove over the border to Hobbs, NM for dinner.  We ate at the Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood House.  The food was OK but not as good as other places we’ve been to.
Bonnie had diarrhea today.  We fed her a can of salmon and mackerel for breakfast.  It didn’t sit well with her.  She’s been doing so well with the limited ingredient foods.  Apparently, fish is not good for her.
29 Jan 2019 (Tue) – We disconnected the water hose last night because it was projected to drop below freezing.  I put the water pump on this morning and jumped into the shower.  Just as I began to rinse the shampoo out of my hair, the pump quit working.  I’m standing there with soap suds streaming down my face hollering for Paul.  He threw on his coat and ran out to reconnect the hose only to find the faucet still frozen. I then had to take two bottles of drinking water to finish rinsing off my hair and body.  That was quite a shower!
We drove into Abilene today and toured Frontier Texas!.  It was a unique museum that told the history of how Texas was settled.  There was a recounting of Indian settlement, Indian on Indian wars, white settlers, Indian on white wars, buffalo hunting, and outlaw activities.  Stations throughout the museum had hologram-like pictures of different personalities who told stories of what they personally experienced.  Of all the museums we have toured during our five and a half years on the road, Frontier Texas! is among the best.
Next we went to lunch at the Hickory Street Café. It was located in a historical house. We both had chicken salad on a croissant.  I also got a broccoli and parmesan soup but it was more like a flour paste.
After lunch, we drove back into town to tour the Grace Museum.  The building was originally built as the Hotel Grace, named after the owner’s daughter. The hotel was sold in the early 1940s but the town began to degrade shortly thereafter as people moved away. It was renamed the Drake Hotel and operated until 1970.  Then it was abandoned for 15 years.  Like all these historical buildings, it was taken over, renovated, and opened as a museum. The first floor had some art and sculptures on display.  The second floor had a children’s area that was kind of fun to play around.  The third floor had a photo exhibit of the city’s architect and an area that showed what a 1920, 1928 and 1948 kitchen and parlor looked like.  It reminded us of the G.E. Carousel of Progress in Disney World.  They need to compare those kitchens to one from today.
As we were walking back to the truck, we spotted the Paramount Theater down the street.  The woman at the Visitor’s Center in Frontier Texas! had mentioned it.  The theater was opened in 1930 and has been beautifully restored to its previous grandeur.  There was a large stage and all the chairs were upholstered in red velvet.  There was an upper mezzanine and a bar lounge downstairs in the basement.
28 Jan 2019 (Mon) – We sent into the Elks Lodge at 10 a.m. to see if our mail had shown up yet.  The secretary had a chip on her shoulder a mile wide and was on some kind of power trip.  She came in and just walked past us; didn’t acknowledge us at all.  Then she disappeared for over 20 minutes.  She came back and walked into the office without saying anything to us – again.  We went to the door of the office – which was locked – and knocked.  She answered with a pissed off look on her face.  When we asked if any mail had arrived, she walked outside to look in the mail box.  This was just a show because the mail had not come yet.  The mail had been forwarded from Escapees almost two weeks ago.  They had sent two envelopes.  Only one arrived.  That one was given to us by someone else who was in the office at the time Paul asked for it.  He took it out of a box sitting in the office.  When we later asked about the box, the secretary said that was just garbage. She refused to look.
So, with an envelope missing, we said goodbye and left Dallas at 10:45 a.m.  It was a 5-hour drive to Abilene.  I called the VFW RV Park to make a reservation but the number was busy, busy, busy.  I finally went online to search for another number.  I got another phone number and when I tried the number, I got another campground just down the road from the VFW RV Park.  It is called Phil’s Boys Estates.  The man who answered said they had some RV sites available.  Knowing the VFW Park was probably full, we made a reservation and drove to Phil’s Boys.
They are in the process of establishing a mobile home park.  There is a large area with electrical and water lines being run.  Along the side and back fence are sites for RVs to back in. A few single width mobile homes have been placed in the front of the gated park.  We have full hookups but no laundry facilities and Wifi.
After getting set up, we drove into town to do the laundry.  We waited in the truck while it washed, then ran out for dinner while the clothes were in the dryer.  We went to a Mexican restaurant called Abuelo’s.  It was an upper end style restaurant.  The chips came with three salsas.  The plates were huge; more like platters.  The plates were so hot that I actually got a second degree burn blister on my arm when I accidentally brushed against the plate.  The food was way more than we could eat.  We ate half and took the rest home.
27 Jan 2019 (Sun) – We drove to Bass Pro Shop today to have lunch in Islamadora Fish Company.  It is amazing that Bass Pro Shop is basically a department store and has so much in it.  We wandered around they had were red wines.  We were annoyed with the lady’s attitude anyway so we left.  We saw some model homes on the way back to the camper and stopped to tour them.  They were 4,000 to 5,000 SF and sold for around $450,000.  They would probably cost $700,000 to $800,000 back in New York.
We then stopped at Kroeger to pick up groceries and at PetCo to get some pet food, then returned home.
26 Jan 2019 (Sat) – We drove to the Frontiers of Flight Museum.  It was smaller than most plane museums but interesting.  A section was devoted to the story of Southwest Airlines.  It was fascinating to read about their struggle to establish a route in Texas then across the nation and finally, internationally. There were some very interesting aircraft to examine and read about.  The original Apollo 7 command module was on display as well.

After the museum, we had lunch at the Lake House. It turned out to be a bar and café. It was near White Rock Lake.  We couldn’t see any water inside by the bar but there was a deck outside where they probably could see the lake.
Next, we drove to the Dallas Arboretum.  The home once belonged to a wealthy couple and sat on 44 acres.  The gardens were beautiful.  The house was open for touring.  It’s always fun to see how the rich folks live.
25 Jan 2019 (Fri) – My time in New York went SOOOO fast!  Wow.  I didn’t get a chance to see several people I wanted to see – my brother, Dennis, my friends at the American Legion and at church.  Interestingly, my sister, Susan, and I saw each other almost every day.
The first night, Susan picked me up at the airport and I spent the night at her house. She bought a Tesla two months ago and still had her old car which she lent to me for the five days I was in town. That helped to save me hundreds of dollars.  The plan had been to go to the New York Botanical Gardens to see the Christmas display but a cold snap rolled in and the day was too miserable to drive into Brooklyn.  Instead, we drove to Travis & Sam’s house and visited with them.  Susan left and I stayed with them for four nights.  I saw the oncologist and had a lymph node drainage massage.  I also gave Travis & Sam and Miranda and Kenny a chance to go for the night while I was there.
On Thursday, I reported to the airport at 10 a.m. to fly back to Dallas.  Susan and her husband, Bill, drove to the airport to pick up their car.  We said goodbye and they left.  As I waited for my plane, the weather deteriorated steadily. A line of thunderstorms was rolling in from the south and creating wind shears.  After my flight was delayed repeatedly, causing me now miss my connection in Baltimore, I went down to the counter and got my flight rescheduled for the next day.  Then Susan drove an hour back to the airport from the Hamptons and took me back to her house for the night.  She drove me back to the airport the next day.  That was a lot of driving on her part and was very grateful for her help.

When Pilots Get Vectored Across Final
Night alignment with runway
Fly IFR, and you’ll run into this situation soon enough: You’re on a base-leg vector to the localizer or inbound course. This means you’re perpendicular to the final approach course—the course that takes you to the runway—and the next heading you receive from ATC should result in a 20- to 30-degree intercept to that final approach course. You should also get clearance to hold that heading until you join the final course and fly the instrument approach.
The catch is that a kickin’ tailwind has you screaming over the ground, and you can see the course needles for final course already moving toward center. You know you need to start the turn now, or you’ll overshoot.
However, ATC seems to have forgotten you and is currently talking to someone else.
Do you start the turn as you try to verify you’re cleared for the approach? Or do you hold your heading while trying to break in for the clearance, knowing you’ll blow through and need a new heading to re-intercept?
There’s a right and wrong answer per the regs, but it’s not so cut-and-dry in the real world. By the book it’s simple: You have not been cleared for the approach, so turning off your heading is a violation of FAR 91.123, unless you have good reason to suspect communications failure or it’s an emergency. By the book, you’re going to cross that inbound course.

Breaking The Rules
In practice, however, we might exercise a bit more self-determination tempered by situational awareness. There are really two possibilities in this situation: One is that the controller got distracted and wants us to turn. The other is the situation has changed and the controller plans to vector us through the inbound course and has forgotten to tell us that. That last bit is important. Controllers must tell us if they want us to cross the inbound course. Something like: “Fly heading 360. Vectors through the localizer.”
Because the first situation is so much more likely than the latter, if the controller is busy with other aircraft, or if I’m at a remote airport where I know the little blip representing me is out in the back 40 of the controller’s scope, I’d start the turn. That’s me. I’m not saying that’s what you should do. Everyone’s situation is unique.
I’d also do my best to get a heads-up to the controller. The simplest technique is just pushing ident on the transponder. The “splat,” as it’s called, that appears on the controller’s scope is like waving at the waiter—and doesn’t require waiting for a break in radio communications.
Sometimes that doesn’t work, and the situation makes you concerned. If missing a turn inbound puts you on course to rising terrain or other traffic you can see via your avionics, you have a bit more justification for taking matters into your own hands. The last thing you want is for the controller to remember you just because a low-altitude or traffic alert went off in the control room.
Once coming back to my home airport in just such a situation, I could hear my Approach controller dealing with a pilot who was clearly flustered and having trouble on a day with low weather for miles around. I didn’t want to interrupt—and I could see the traffic on an opposite downwind—so I turned inbound and called Tower (while still monitoring Approach), explained what was going on over on Approach, and asked them to relay the information when it seemed appropriate. Tower paused for only a moment before relaying a clearance for the approach, a clearance to land...and a thanks.
Could I have gotten a phone number to call after landing instead? Sure. This decision carries risk. The consequence of obeying the letter of the law and flying through the localizer is usually only wasted time. I wouldn’t fault anyone for just trucking along and waiting. However, aviation is all about managing risk, so step one of dealing with this situation is trying to avoid it altogether.
Vectors To The Gate
Let’s back up a bit and review standard vectors for an approach. They resemble a large airport traffic pattern. There’s a downwind leg, which is displaced a few miles from the landing runway. Then there’s the base leg, perpendicular to the final approach course, which is (ideally) also the heading for the landing runway.
The next heading is the 20- to 30-degree intercept mentioned above. It’s usually accompanied by an approach clearance in the format controllers call PTAC, for “position, turn, altitude, clearance.” “Cessna Two Three Six Whiskey Papa, four miles from FIXIE, turn right heading 330, maintain 2800 until established, cleared ILS Runway 36 approach.” Sound familiar?
We think of this turn bringing us to the final approach fix, but it’s quite a bit outside of that point. Controllers use a point called an approach gate. The gate is a point at least one mile outside the final approach fix (or glideslope intercept) and no closer that five miles to the runway threshold. In practice, approach gates are commonly six or seven miles from the threshold. Vectors to final from a controller must intercept the final approach course two miles outside the gate, so that’s eight or nine miles from the runway threshold. Like I said, it’s a big traffic pattern, with an eight-mile final.
There are exceptions to that required distance. If the weather is good enough, ATC can cut the turn tighter but not closer than the gate. If the pilot requests an intercept that’s closer than normal, ATC can vector to intercept inside the gate but no closer than the final approach fix.
Back to the situation on the base leg with a tailwind. Part of a thorough approach briefing if you’re getting vectors should be what this base heading will be, so you can assess your closure rate when you turn on that heading. This is simple with a moving map or tablet. If you can, give map icon a track vector that shows where you’ll be in one minute at your current groundspeed.
Now watch the situation and, if necessary, be proactive. Suppose you see rapid closure while still a ways out on the base leg. You could preemptively request the final heading and clearance rather than waiting. “Portland Approach, Cirrus Two Fox Tango. Request heading 220 now to join the localizer and approach clearance.” Because you’re asking, the restrictions about distance outside the final approach fix are removed (including in bad weather). You could even try, “Approach, Cirrus Two Fox Tango. We’d like to turn ourselves onto the localizer when we’re ready. Request approach clearance now.” If you’re the only aircraft queued up for the approach, that just might work.
The prevalence of RNAV approaches means it’s common to get direct to a fix along the approach and a clearance instead of a vector. That works great if you’re approaching such that you can just continue inbound for the approach. Not so much if you’re on the downwind.
If you want to hit a point just (barely) outside the FAF, you could ask for a clearance direct to the FAF on an RNAV approach, but this isn’t exactly kosher. That’s not to say it can’t happen in the wild, but know you’re playing with fire if the controller allows it.
Here’s why. You should never enter direct to the FAF in your GPS. The GPS can’t do its pre-approach, signal-quality magic until it’s on a published leg of the approach. Direct-to does not count. If you enter direct-to the FAF, the GPS will wait until crossing that fix and then do its calculations to annunciate LPV or LNAV or even “approach unavailable.” It will also instantly change the full-scale CDI deflection from 1 NM to 0.3 NM or less. All this when you’ve just crossed the FAF and should be descending to a point hazardously close to the ground.
If you shouldn’t go direct to the FAF for an RNAV approach, what about activating vectors to final but requesting a vector to intercept inside the approach gate? No joy. Controllers are required to vector an aircraft at least two miles outside the approach gate for an RNAV (GPS) approach no matter what the weather and no matter what the pilot requests.
So, tip for the wise: If you’re approaching from the downwind side of the airport and want a tight turn at the final approach fix, request the ILS.
And when you get that vector, watch your rate of closure and anticipate that last turn. If you’re worried about an overshoot or want the freedom to make it yourself based on what your GPS tablet tells you: Ask for the turn and the clearance.
IFR Skills For VFR Pilots: Vectors To Final, VFR
VFR flight following can be the perfect tool when flying into unfamiliar airspace, especially at night. Sure, you have a GPS and the guidance is taking you directly to the airport, but finding the field can be an exercise in exasperation, even when ATC says, “Airport, 12 o’clock, five miles.”
Just as ATC can vector instrument aircraft onto the final approach course, they can vector your VFR flight into alignment on a long straight-in to the landing runway.
Suppose you’re 10 miles from the airport and hear that winds favor Runway 36. You could make this call:
“Bigtown Approach, Piper Two Six Three, request.”
“Piper Two Six Three, go ahead.”
“Piper Two Six Three requests vectors to a four-mile final Runway 36 at Bigtown Municipal.”
“Piper Two Six Three, no problem, fly heading three one zero.”
The controller has a top-down view and is a pro at vectoring aircraft. This is really no imposition at all to a controller used to aligning IFR aircraft all day long. Now you simply follow the instructions to get positioned on a long straight-in for the airport.
You can even ask for recommended altitudes if you want.

A detailed look at how MLS exports are faring at clubs around the world
October 18, 201811:00AM EDT
With most of Europe’s leagues now fully back in the swing, it’s time once again to check in with all of the Major League Soccer products scattered around the globe.
It’s a fine time for this update, to say the least. No less than seven players who got their pro starts in MLS or a league academy scored in their last club games before the current international pause, including rising Malmö FF star Romain Gall.
ENGLAND
DeAndre Yedlin
Seattle Sounders: 2013-14
The U.S. national team right back picked up where he left off last season as an ink starter at Newcastle, and even scored his first career Premier League goal at Manchester City last month. Unfortunately, the Magpies are off to a winless start, pocketing just two points from their first eight matches of the season.
Tim Ream
Tim Ream has recovered from injury to return to Fulham’s lineup, but life in the Premier League has been tricky so far | Reuters
New York Red Bulls: 2010-11
The Fulham defender got a late start to the campaign due to a back injury. Ream made his season bow late last month in a third-round EFL Cup win away to London rivals Millwall, and has started the Cottagers’ last two league tilts. Fulham’s return to the top flight has been rocky thus far, with but one win through eight EPL games.
Geoff Cameron
Houston Dynamo: 2008-12
The veteran defensive handyman went out on loan from Stoke City to Queens Park Rangers at the transfer deadline. The Loftus Road crew were off to a miserable start before Cameron’s move, but have righted the ship, going 3-2-2 since his early-September debut. The 33-year-old has started four of QPR’s last five Championship matches as a defensive midfielder, and bagged the 1-1 equalizer against Derby County in their last game before the international break.
Matthew Olosunde
New York Red Bulls Academy
The Manchester United Under-23 defender has yet to appear this season, but seems to be nearing the end of his recovery road from a knee injury.
GERMANY
Weston McKennie
FC Dallas Academy
McKennie, center, is mobbed by teammates after scoring a late winner against Lokomotiv Moscow in the UEFA Champions League group phase | Reuters
Though currently slowed by a knee knock, the Schalke midfielder has begun the campaign in fine form. McKennie has definitely enjoyed his first tastes of UEFA Champions League action, setting up the lone Miners goal in the group phase opener against Porto and striking the late winner at Lokomotiv Moscow on Matchday 2. He followed that goal up with another in Schalke’s league win at Fortuna Düsseldorf three days later.
Carlos Salcedo
Real Salt Lake Academy
After helping Eintracht Frankfurt post a clean sheet victory at Freiburg on Bundesliga opening day, the Mexico center back tore an ankle ligament early in their next match. Salcedo is tentatively expected back in training around New Year’s Day.
Chris Richards
FC Dallas Academy
The FC Dallas loan item has wasted no time becoming a lineup fixture for Bayern Munich’s U-19 side, starting 10 straight games in the heart of defense. Included in that span was a goal at Freiburg on Sept. 15, as well as his first two appearances in the UEFA Youth League (essentially a U-19 Champions League).
MEXICO
Omar Gonzalez
LA Galaxy: 2009-15
The former Galaxy defender has started all but one Apertura match since making a summer switch from Pachuca to Atlas. The Foxes are propping up the table through 12 rounds, but don’t blame the Gonzalez-led defense; it’s kept them in most games, while the attack has managed just four goals. The back line marshal opened his club account just before the international break, bagging their lone goal in a loss at Santos Laguna.
Rogelio Funes Mori
Rogelio Funes Mori has made only three starts and six appearances for Monterrey because of an injury | Reuters
FC Dallas Academy
The Monterrey forward has seen his season interrupted by an injury that has limited him to three starts in six appearances. Funes Mori snapped a two-month goal drought with the early winner against Tijuana on Sept. 30.
Fabian Castillo
FC Dallas: 2011-16
After making a summer move from Trabzonspor, the winger missed Tijuana’s first four league games with an injury. Castillo has now started five straight Apertura matches, and netted his first goal for the club in last week’s draw with Querétaro.
Rafael Baca
San Jose Earthquakes: 2011-14
The veteran midfielder remains a regular starter for Liga MX leaders Cruz Azul. Baca has superbly guarded the back line for the league’s stingiest side (nine goals conceded in 12 games). In the only match he missed, they dropped a 3-1 decision away to strugglers Pachuca.
Lalo Fernandez
Real Salt Lake: 2012-17
After sitting on the bench for every competitive Tigres match during the last Clausura season earlier this year, the netminder finally debuted for the Mexican giants in a 0-0 Copa MX draw against Cafetaleros back in August.
SPAIN
Ballou Tabla
Montreal Impact Academy
The young Canada winger has started in six of his seven outings for FC Barcelona’s reserve side, who are early title contenders in Segunda B Group 3. Tabla has a goal, scored in their season-opening loss, and an assist.
FRANCE
Matt Miazga
Matt Miazga has made egith consecutive starts for the Canaries | Reuters
New York Red Bulls: 2013-15
After watching their Ligue 1 opener from the dugout, Miazga has started eight straight for new loan employers Nantes. It has been a sputtering start for the Canaries, who stand next to bottom thanks to a five-game winless slide.
Timothy Weah
New York Red Bulls Academy
After scoring in Paris Saint-Germain’s French Super Cup rout of Monaco and their league opening victory over Caen, Weah also featured as a halftime sub in a win at Guingamp on Aug. 18. He hasn’t dressed since, as PSG’s attack superstars returned from their post-World Cup vacations.
NETHERLANDS
Erik Palmer-Brown
Sporting Kansas City: 2013-17
The U.S. defender’s first two assignments at new loan home NAC Breda came with the reserve team. Palmer-Brown then started consecutive games for the Eredivisie cellar dwellers in mid-September before working a couple more second-team matches early this month.
PORTUGAL
Eryk Williamson
Portland Timbers: 2018-
The young midfielder has yet to make a first-team debut for loan side Santa Clara.
BELGIUM
Andy Najar
Andy Najar, right, has alternated between a defensive and midfield role this season at Anderlecht | Reuters
D.C. United: 2010-12
After sitting the first four games of Anderlecht’s campaign, Najar returned from a preseason setback in late August. Believe it or not, the diminutive Honduras international has been working on the left side of a three-man back line in league play (he’s operated in a more familiar right midfield slot in their two Europa League losses). It’s still early, but the Mauves are already six points behind first-place Genk.
TURKEY
Cyle Larin
Cyle Larin, right, has featured primarily in the Europa League for Besiktas | Reuters
Orlando City: 2015-17
After merely getting his feet wet with Besiktas last season, the Canada striker has already had his name in the lineup eight times this term. Seven of those starts have come in Europa League play, which has seen Larin bag his second hat trick for the club against Icelandic second-round qualifying foe B36 Torshavn back in August and set up Ryan Babel’s icebreaker in their group stage-opening win over Sarpsborg 08. He’s yet to ring the bell in four Super Lig outings for the Eagles, who stand three points off the top after eight rounds.
Eric Ayuk
Philadelphia Union: 2015-16
The 21-year-old winger has quickly gotten comfy with second-flight outfit Osmanlispor, notching a goal and an assist in his first four starts. The club stumbled out of the blocks, but has now won three of four with Ayuk on the field.
COSTA RICA
Denis Castillo
Colorado Rapids: 2016
The Costa Rican defender moved home this summer to join Pérez Zeledón, but injuries have bounced him in and out of the selection. Castillo sported the captain’s armband in his two starts, a pair of 2-1 victories. With four games remaining in the Apertura season, the Southern Warriors stand fifth, three points shy of the last playoff spot.
ISRAEL
Aaron Schoenfeld
Columbus Crew SC: 2012-15
The Maccabi Tel Aviv forward started four of his six games during Europa League qualifying, notching an assist. However, he has been limited to a pair of cameo appearances in Ligat Ha’Al play thus far.
Jonathan Bornstein
Chivas USA: 2006-11
Having moved from Querétaro this past summer, Bornstein got the call at left back in Maccabi Netanya’s league opener. The Diamonds were demolished 5-0 at Hapoel Haifa that day, and the 33-year-old has not left the bench since. That hasn’t really helped, though, as they sit second-to-last through six games.
NORWAY
Sam Adekugbe
Vancouver Whitecaps: 2013-17
The Canada left back has started 21 of 25 league games for seventh place Vålerenga, and another two in the NM Cup. The Bohemians hold very slim hopes of rallying for a Europa League berth with five games remaining.
Oyvind Alseth
Toronto FC: 2017
After winning the treble for Toronto FC last year, the Norwegian returned to his hometown to suit up for Eliteserien risers Ranheim. Alseth has worked at every back line position while starting five of 13 league appearances. Playing in the top flight for the first time in 62 years, the Trondheim mites have surprised all to stand fifth.
Sean Okoli
Seattle Sounders: 2014; D.C. United: 2015; New York City: 2017
The forward joined second-flight side FK Jerv in August and has quickly become a fixture on the line-up card for manager Arne Sandstø (who previously managed both Nat Borchers and Clarence Goodson during their stints in Norway). Nevertheless, Okoli has tallied just once in eight starts for the OBOS-Ligaen middlers, hitting a lone goal winner against Floro a month ago.
SCOTLAND
Emerson Hyndman
FC Dallas Academy
On loan to Hibernian from EPL side Bournemouth, Hyndman has four starts in six league games and worked his first two Europa League contests in their third qualifying defeat against Molde FK. The midfielder fired his first goal of the season in a 6-0 rout of Hamilton just prior to the international break. After a slow start, Hibs have won four straight to stand just two points behind leaders Celtic ahead of Saturday’s trip to Parkhead.
Andy Rose
Seattle Sounders: 2012-15
The midfielder has started six of eight for Motherwell, who have just one win in their first eight SPL games.
David Norman Jr.
Vancouver Whitecaps: 2018
The Canada youth international is currently on loan to second-division outfit Queen of the South. Norman Jr. made his league debut with a seven-minute shift in a scoreless draw at Inverness on Sept. 29.
SWEDEN
Romain Gall
Columbus Crew SC: 2014-15
After a very brief settling-in phase following his summer move from Sundsvall, Gall has resumed his breakout season with Allsvenskan holders Malmö FF. The winger has four goals and two assists in nine games with the Sky Blues, taking his season totals to 11 (good for fifth in the league) and six, respectively. The 23-year-old also added two goals in Svenska Cupen action, and has made debuts in both Champions League qualifying play and the Europa League group phase.
And there’s still plenty of time for Gall to accomplish more. In the league, Malmö are five points shy of the last 2019-20 Europa League berth with five games left, starting with Saturday’s massive home tilt against second-place Hammarby. Meanwhile, they’re still battling in the current Europa League, with all four Group I teams level on three points after two rounds. Next up in that tournament: an Oct. 25 trip to Sarpsborg 08.
Kofi Sarkodie
Houston Dynamo: 2011-15, San Jose Earthquakes: 2016-17
The former U.S. youth international signed as a free agent with Trelleborgs this July. By the end of the month, Sarkodie made his debut in the first of six straight left back starts. Playing in the Allsveskan for the first time in six years, the southerners have sunk to the basement on an 0-12-3 swoon. With five games left, they are six points short of the relegation playoff slot, and nine from the safety zone. One reason for hope: They still get to play two of the three clubs directly ahead of them.
SWITZERLAND
Kekuta Manneh
Vancouver Whitecaps: 2013-17
The new St. Gallen winger fought through some early injury struggles to make his debut in a Swiss Cup stroll at lower-level side Ueberstorf in mid-August. Manneh’s league bow came in a Swiss Super League win at Xamax a couple weeks later. He’s yet to score in three league outings for the fifth-place side.
SLOVAKIA
Brian Iloski
LA Galaxy Academy
The 23-year-old Legia Warsaw prospect is spending the season on loan to Slovakian top-tier club Michalovce. Iloski has played everywhere in attack during his four appearances. His first start of the season came last week when he played the No. 10 role in their second victory of the season, a surprise 2-1 decision at Trencin.
FINLAND
Ben McKendry
Vancouver Whitecaps: 2016-17
The Canada international has started 25 of his 27 matches since joining TPS, and the last eight in a row. McKendry has alternated between the central and defensive midfield spots for the top-flight survivalists, who hold the relegation playoff slot with two games left on the schedule. Perilously, they still have to play at third-place KuPS before hosting runaway league leaders HJK on closing day.
SYRIA
Mo Babouli
Toronto FC: 2016-17
After netting seven times for Al Ittihad Aleppo last season, the 25-year-old forward has yet to find the net in four league games this term.

It’s incredible how fast this movement grew into something actually cool, over just a few years. It WAS poorly organized, poorly attended n’ pathetically not a true reflection of the carnival zest from Trinidad, representing in LA. But that’s recently changed, also incorporating other cultures from across the globe! Don’t miss from June 21-24 in H’wood, the Hollywood Carnival & Parade + ‘nuff activities surrounding this better soca-infused weekend of LA Carnival’s non-stop bachannal!

Hop on, but don’t hop off ‘til it docks. You’re invited, btw...this is a one-time only summer event, don’t lapse.

Finally got Scales for Brass and Lan!!!
Lan still has one more thing to get: Ribbon Gene. And I'm debating on making Brass a Bogsneak to even out my breed numbers (also she'd look pretty).
