Inconsolable over how even after his mom dies, Palm never once cries. He screams, lashes out, sits there silently in his grief, but he never outright cries - because of a combination of the sense of duty that is built into his bones (he has to be the stronger one, he can't break down) and the sort of intimate grief that feels too close and not enough (like maybe he's not allowed to grieve his mother, like he's not sure how to grieve someone he already grieved for years on end).

Palm never cries, and that's heartbreaking in ways that's too difficult to put into words.

palmnueng is LITERALLY 'I love you because of your flaws, not despite them' and to me that is so so insane. they see each other as worthy of love and that in turn makes them so much more likely to love themselves because in the other's eyes, they're the one who is loved. that is so truly deeply insane. imagine loving someone so hard you start loving yourself.

also. they're inverses of each other in so many ways and their love works the same - to palm, it is the only thing he does completely unrestrained. but to nueng, his love for palm is the only thing that's really capable of keeping him grounded. anyway I want to cry
