Most of the drivers are more concerned about padding their own pockets. Lando is probably the worst on the grid though. He has a lot of influence and acts like he keeps it real and doesn’t care bc he tells it like it is and isn’t afraid. He’s a total faker. He never speaks up and only repeats what his PR team tell him to say. Nothing seems genuine or real about him. Not only that but Lando travels the world and has fans from all over and doesn’t even care to look at a map and be made aware of what part of the world he’s in. He charges obscene amounts for his shitty merchandise when he knows his fans aren’t making that kind of money. He also accepts money when he does stream on twitch. He has no shame. At the Miami GP he goes and says people should respect a guy who has a known reputation for being an incredibly racist and misogynistic. His fan girls don’t care though bc they all think they have a shot with him and think he’s cute.

I used to be a fan of his but over the years I’ve been finding him more and more annoying.

Anon, in the most gentle way, while I do agree with some things here, I feel like there are so many other things ur getting angry at him for, for no reason.

Like yes, I am INCREDIBLEY angry/ irritated abt the stuff he said abt trump, and his unawareness/ ignorance of the boycott, as well as (and this for all the drivers, EXCEPT LEWIS HAMILTON THE GOAT), his inability to post/ talk abt the genocide happening in Palestine.

However, U saying there's nothing 'genuine' abt him, and talking abt how he doesn't know 'which part of the world he's in', is just way too much. Like we've never met him, we dont know him personally, so we can't really say anything when it comes to him being 'genuine' or not. Also, come one getting mad at him for not knowing where countries are is a bit to much, like ofc everyone is free to dislike a driver just bc, but don't hate on him for smthng so lame😭.

U also talk abt how 'he made his merch too expensive for fans', anon, merch - in general - has ALWAYS been expensive, like go look at the rbr, mercedes, ferrari, ANY OF THE TEAMS' merch. Go look at TAYLOR SWIFTS merch, at OSCAR'S merch, at DANIEL'S Enchante stuff. Obv, we'd all like if the stuff was less pricey, but u can't just get mad at one person and not get mad at the others for the same thing.

'He accepts money when he streams on twitch,' I feel like u don't get how his fans VOLUNTARILY give that money, like no lando does not demand them for it, or tell them he'll hate them if they don't give him anything, he's NEVER said he wants them to donate😭. And me personally, if someone was giving me money willingly and happily, I wouldn't refuse it ( its hard out here😔✋🏽) no matter if I was rich or not.

Anyway to end this, I just wanna say that I don't like lando either😭, it's not that he sucks, or that I think he's 'overrrated' I just don't personally vibe with him. (He gives me like 17 yr old f boy energy vibes). But that doesn't mean I'll create reasons to hate him, or like be one of those weirdos who go and talk shit in his comments. I just don't follow him, and when he DOES do smthng wrong, I call him out for it, like I would do for every other driver.

And whoever likes him, can like him. Its their choice, as long as they can admit when he does smthn wrong.

lewis has been posting about palestine for years though unfortunately i think there was a lot of pressure from mercedes and probably above (daimler) so he ended up deleting some of the stuff like the story with the map of palestine shwoing the resuls from the nakba, but he kept on reposting stories from what was happening in gaza like hospital videos etc.

I mean personally I think people read too much into the vogue quote from kelly. They went to dinner together with Kelly's brother, cause Max and Nelson Jr are friends. Having "a magical night" can also mean they just had fun.. They were both in relationships at the time, or at least very soon after and Kelly even had a kid with someone else before they got together when he was 23. While for me, a 9 year age gap is too much, I don't think Kelly was like actively preying on him and grooming him when he was 19 💀 which btw not to you but for some the people who think he was 16/17 in 2016, he wasn't. He was 18, maybe even 19.

I mean I get where ur coming from, but then again, she DID say this after they were in a relationship, and come on using the word "magical" to describe just a normal fun night??

Also I would've genuinely been fine with a 9 year age gap, if it weren't for the fact that max had just begun his adult yrs. Like if he had started dating kelly at his current age (and she was her current age), and they had had no prior communication, then I gen wouldn't have cared. But the fact is that they DID start dating when he was 23, and she DID meet him, and (I think) kept in contact with him when he was 19.

I know she isn’t insanely young but if what people say is true they were dating way before they became offical so she would have been even younger.

Shes 27!, but they went public with their relationship 2 yrs ago, when she was 25, and if I'm assuming they dated at least for a yr bfr that then she was 24 when they got into a relationship, making him 30 (thry have a six yr age gap). Personally I feel like thats iffy, but not like creep behaviour. Just basing this off of the different age gap and how he didn't know her in her teen yrs/ bfr she was an adult.

Idk if you’ve talked about this already and this is not a defense of her but it is interesting to me how people take the comment from Kelly about a “magical moment” with Max (and why would you ever admit this? you couldn’t water board this shit out of me) when he was 18/19 to run with as her grooming him or being a pedophile but see Pierre’s and Kika as #goals.

I’m somewhat offended that you think that a person at almost 18 years old can’t date whom he wants. It is not for nothing that the age of consent in many countries is 16. I like older people myself, and when I was 19, I was having fun with a man who was 43. Grooming is out of the question when a person is almost 18 years old. At this age, quite many people leave their parents to study at universities in other cities/countries.

Also I know my apologies mean for nothing, but I'm genuinely distraught that people are attacking you for your own opinions (which hurts no one!) No omg, because the way I looked up Max's dating history and he dated sm women (who were at least +3 yrs older than him) in the span of his early career is insane. How is not one person noticing that these older women should be ASHAMED for literally dating a child. Don’t get me started on the friendship with Nelson. Nelson was 32 when the magical night happened. Max was 18. They were friends beforehand. Why does someone in their 30ies befriend someone that is not yet off age. And why are they inviting the recently legal person to dinner at their place without any other people around? (I don’t care that max turned 19 after the dinner, my point still stands)/// not to defend Nelson Jr too much but pretty sure Max and him have said he was one of the first people he met when he moved to Monaco. I'm pretty sure all the people he met in Monaco were older than him since other drivers his age apart from Charles who is from there were not living there at the time. Nelson was always hosting dinner parties when he was living in Monaco, he would invite other drivers and members of his team. I mean who would turn down a home cooked meal if they were living by themselves in a new country. Pretty sure there are still photos up of Max at some of the dinners with members of Nelson team. I think that is also how he met Mark Cox who is a cousin of the Piquets and a friend of Max. His siblings would also join in sometimes when they were in town. I don't think there is a picture of Max and Kelly from back then but I think I remember seeing a post tagging Max, Julia Piquet, Pedro Piquet and some of Nelson's team like his trainer and PR at one point. But I don't think Nelson specifically set a dinner for Max and Kelly to meet since Nelson Jr seemed to host these dinners a lot. Which kinda makes sense since he comes from such a big family you get used to being with a lot of people and at the time only he was living in Monaco. In 2016 there were reports of Max with Joyce Godefridi and Roos van der Aa.

I've been trying to dig for pictures/ info abt this specific dinner, but I genuinely can't find anything other than that one kelly quote of how 'blah blablah magical blah blah', so I'm not gonna say anything abt it rn (bc im not sure what other ppl were invited, my only problem would be if max was the ONLY person there from his age group, and the rest were older).

I would like to say that 'performative' posting about Palestine doesn't exist. These celebs/influencers at most gain brownie points with fans, but the way even posting about Palestine makes them lose sponsorships and branddeals is crazy and even influences literal A-listers. They have more to lose than to gain, which I why I will always have respect for the ones that did post, even if I find them disingenuous, I just try to remind myself that they have no real personal gain in the matter.

I’ve started unfollowing some of the drivers and a lot of celebrities.

They have money, privilege and a whole lot more than I do and yet everyone is super quiet.

I do wonder though in all honesty would this effect them in anyway, us doing all this?

Yes! The main example (I've said bfr as well) is lizzo, as well as a BUNCH of other influencers! (Chris olsen, Hank Green, reece, moose, etc) A celebrity finding out that their following has dropped MASSIVELY, WILL cause them to go investigate on WHY.

'Why have so many ppl unfollowed me?'

This leads to them either making a statement, supporting palestine, joinig the 'Olive Branch Operation', or completely ignoring the problem (which in that case I don't want to follow someone like that anyway)

The main thing is that ALL of us do this, as to ensure that celebs DO face a very visible drop in follower counts.

I think doing stuff like this is the best way of protesting/ advocating for the Palestinian ppl peacefully, and I dont want to be following ignorant celebs/ influencers anyway.
