DNF DUEL DLC character Battle Mage launches December 18

DNF DUEL downloadable content character Battle Mage (voiced by Nanami Yamashita) will launch on December 18, publisher Nexon, and developers Neople, Arc System Works, and Eighting announced.

Battle Mage is the third of five downloadable content characters to be added via the Season Pass. The first two characters were Spectre and Brawler.

The trailer description reads: “Brace yourselves for the arrival of the mesmerizing Battle Mage! Embark on a journey where magic and spear techniques come together to create an unforgettable adventure. Embrace the magic, feel the power, and prepare for an epic journey like no other!”

DNF DUEL is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

I’d guess I play more fighting games than the average gamer. I'm no master at any one but I really enjoy them (I've at least been able to beat some KOF and Samurai Shodown bosses on normal difficulty, so not too bad!). But the final fight in my first foray into DNF Duel's arcade mode infuriated me, taking nearly 30 minutes worth of retries and almost giving up!

Using Dragon Knight, I eventually realised that Lost Warrior, at least, is not so great at defending against her Knuckle Blaster move. I sure spammed it when it felt right, but it’s not foolproof. So I tried to mix that up with Biting Dragon and tried to trip him up with low attacks. Took a chance with some combo moves too. The first round went well, the next two…well, I got the job done at least!

Granted, I barely touched the tutorial to get a grasp of this fighter's unique systems. Normally I would jump right into - and complete - this mode first in any other fighter. But still, playing on the easiest difficulty (“Normal”), I never thought I'd be in for such a nightmare with some really intense and aggressive CPUs. Also, I felt it while fighting other characters and especially against Lost Warrior here, but the CPU really feels like it's reading your attack inputs due to the sheer amount of successful standing and crouching guarding (and how quickly they swap between the two) they perform. That’s been frustrating.

Having said all that, it doesn’t really spoil the fun either - it’s heaps of fun and feels fresh. And after spending some more time with the tutorials, I feel “somewhat” improved!

DNF DUEL DLC character Monk announced

Publisher Nexon, and developers Neople, Arc System Works, and Eighting have announced DNF DUEL downloadable content character Monk. A release date was not announced.

Monk is the third of five downloadable content characters to be added via the Season Pass. The first three characters were Spectre, Brawler, and Battle Mage.

The teaser trailer description reads: “Brace yourselves, Monk is coming! Get ready for intense Holy Fist battles in DNF DUEL. The stage is set for divine justice—are you up for the challenge?”

DNF DUEL is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

Spectre se suma al plantel de DNF Duel

El editor Nexon y los desarrolladores Neople, Arc System Works y Eighting han anunciado que DNF DUEL recibirá un gran parche de balance en diciembre del 2022 e incluirá los siguientes cambios:

Actualización de balance de batalla: mejora para más de 100 habilidades.

Sistema de indicador: Mayor HP y Guard Gauge para todos los personajes.

Habilidad de despertar: Habilidades de despertar mejoradas.

Sistema de defensa: Evasión mejorada. Más ventajas para Guard Cancel.

No solo eso, sino que también se ha anunciado que DNF Duel llegará a Nintendo Switch en primavera de 2023.

Por último, se confirma que Spectre será la primera y nueva incorporación jugable post lanzamiento, eso sí, sin fecha anunciada y sin mencionar precio.
