“Renjun!” The boy blinks his eyes and stares at you upon hearing his name. “Are you even listening?”

“I was wondering if I could drop by later tonight so we can work on the project, the deadline is fast approaching.” You repeat organising the scattered papers over the library table.

“A thing?” You raise one of your brows. “What thing?”
“N-nothing important just… Stuff to do…” He avidly avoids your eyes making you wonder if any of this is true. “But we can do it tomorrow for sure.
“Ok we’ll do it tomorrow then. I should go now.” You gather your things and place them inside your bag, Renjun following right behind.
As you two walk outside the wind pushes the hair away from your face and you cozy up inside your warm jacket. Biding your goodbyes, he pulls the white hood from his sweatshirt over his short black hair, hands tucked in his blue puffy jacket as he walks the opposite direction from you.
Making your way home you can’t help feel a little uneasy, what is it that he’s doing that he can’t tell you? When you got into college you two met and got really close with each other. Renjun presents himself as a shy, nerdy, gamer type of guy but there’s so much more to him that you got to know over time. And maybe that’s why you can’t help your heart from fluttering when you’re with him.
You don’t want to feel this way about him and that’s why you never told him about your silly little crush, this is such a precious friendship that you don’t want to lose specially when he doesn’t seem to have the same feelings. So you just keep being his friend and you believe you’ll eventually get over him and find someone knew to fancy.
But when you get home and throw yourself over your bed, bag forgotten on the floor, you can’t help but daydream about shy little Renjun laying right there next to you, how it would feel to hold him close, kiss him, touch him, feel him against you-
Shaking your head you get back to reality. You really need to get these feelings sorted but dreaming about him as become a regular thing and you’re not going to drop your feelings if you keep living like this.
Getting up you walk towards the kitchen to make some dinner and follow up to the living room watching some TV with your roommates.
After feeling like you’ve done enough procrastinating you decide to go back to your room to study for a while. Opening your bag you take out your notebook but then see something familiar that is not yours. You pick it up and take a closer look.
“Renjun’s wallet?” You mumble to yourself wondering why you’d have that with you.
Then it hits you: you might have accidentally picked it up when packing your bag at the library earlier. You check your phone to see if he had contacted you about it but he hasn’t so you decide to call him.
Ring. Ring. Ring. The contact you’ve tried to reach is not available right now…
He’s not answering. Maybe he’s busy with whatever plans he had for today so you might as well just drop by his apartment and leave it there, one of his roommates should be home to receive it and let him know.
Picking up a jacket you head outside, Renjun’s apartment is only a few blocks away from yours so this will be a quick trip. A few seconds after you ring the bell a sleepy figure opens the door.

Before entering Renjun’s room you knocked and called his name but there was no answer. You assumed he didn’t hear you as you could hear music coming from inside so you thought it would be fine to just walk in. Nothing would’ve ever prepared you for the scene before your eyes.
