Buster Moon Headcanons

As part of the other half of that Ask

I'm sorry this took so long

Joseph Buster Moon

39, He/Him, Cis-Asexual

Just not interested in a relationship right now, but he believes he'll find that special someone down the line

No it is NOT Jimmy Crystal

Get off my page if you ship them ok he tried to murder buster TWICE

His father's name was Buster Christopher Moon and his first name was given to his son as a middle name, but Joseph goes by his middle name out of respect to his father's work to get him that theatre

Some people called him "Junior" when he was a kid

His father passed of old age/naturally

Mom was Monica Cassidy Moon

She died of leukemia when "Buster" was really small

Buster's father was the sole owner of the theatre when he first acquired it, he left it to Buster in the Will with instructions to use the remainder of his Life Insurance after funeral costs to pay off the remainder of the mortgage

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough left over for the mortgage after cremations and the ceremony and the burial and the plot for his father's ashes was paid for

Buster was certain that he could pay off the mortgage with funds from shows

Granted, that meant spending money on the actual productions for said shows

And concessions

And costumes

And advertising

And the bills for electric company, the water company, etc etc

So he took out a loan

And then another loan

And then a private personal loan

And then another loan after that

Dude was about $130,000 or so in debt because the shows weren't selling tickets

And most of the actors quit when there wasn't much publicity

Hey it's discouraging when you want to put on a show and no one actually comes y'all

Oh God I never noticed the look on his face in the film until now I'm 😫😫😫

Ms. Crawley isn't exactly a paid employee of Buster

She also lives in an apartment next door to the theatre

She's technically supposed to be in Senior Care

But she doesn't have any family left to actually pay for it so she's kinda just there

She has her apartment because the landlord felt bad for her and let's her stay there rent free

She wandered into the theatre one day

And Buster welcomed her in and she's been there since

He makes sure she's taken care of

They've only had to put a Silver Alert* out for her once

Or twice

Ok technically three times if you count the "interaction" with Clay Calloway the first time

She still gets the job done like a Trooper

And Buster literally could not do anything without her honestly

*A Silver Alert is a public notification system in the United States of America to broadcast information about missing persons – especially senior citizens with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other mental disabilities – in order to aid in locating them.

He met Eddie Noodleman in High School when Buster's school was combined into Eddie's

Aka, Eddie's high school was in an upper class area

Buster's was a low income area

The school was undergoing renovations under a new budget so they were temporarily combined into nearby schools

It was Buster and Eddie's Senior Year, so the ended up graduating together

Eddie's college tuition was covered in full by his dad

Buster got a lot of scholarships under his belt

Buster met Nana Noodleman on accident, actually

She was at their college graduation

And Buster... Had a so-so interaction with her

To say the least she was not impressed by his bluntness

Buster treats the gang like they're his kids

He doesn't want them to feel like they're not getting the spotlight they each individually deserve

Taking Rosita's lead role for example, he made sure Porsha got her chance to shine

Ash is like his grown independent child

So is Rosita

Shops for all 25 Piglets' birthdays

He is very careful about how he talks to Porsha

Not because of her overreacting to the role swap, but because she's told him some of the things that Jimmy's said over the years

Some, not all

Buster had decided he'd heard enough after "talentless excuse for a daughter"

Never calls her a brat

Definitely brought her down from the rich life a bit as far as being independent

Even though technically she's still filthy rich because she inherits that money now

She now knows how to make her own French Toast ✨

Buster is one much better terms with Clay now

They'll have a beer from time to time

Though Buster doesn't like beer—

Sense of fashion is yes

Sense of Aesthetic is yes

Dude was so used to having to do every single bit of planning that having Nooshi on to do the choreography was both nerve-wracking at first but relieving as time went on

Took him a hot minute to remember that the choreography was in good hands

Not because he didn't trust her but because he was so used to having to do it all himself

Makes sure she's got her own space

The choreography room has been completely redecorated into a more "energetic-slash-lively-go get em" space

Basically, it's Nooshi's space

He personally got the newcomers nice apartments when they moved to town

Porsha stayed with him for a little while in the guest bedroom of his apartment

Oh, and Ms. Crawley has her own room in Buster's apartment too

He made sure of that before he bought it

He worries about her health from time to time because she's up there in her years

Has also caught her writing a will

So the anxiety went 📈📈

Is relishing in the Touring Life™

Does worry about Jimmy Crystal returning

Or hurting Porsha

Considered a restraining order but the story usually went that getting a restraining order was a surefire way for the dude to come for you

Keeps it in his back pocket

Porsha is on his own will now as next of kin because of how much she's grown from the toxic hell hole her dad had her in

Buster Moon--ENTJ

“This show is not gonna save your theater! Maybe it's time to just move on.”

Buster Moon has an enterprising and goal oriented personality. He has dreamed big all of his life, and he has never let go of the grand visions he’s followed so tirelessly (Ni). He has a natural knack for taking charge and organizing large events and other people (Te) which he puts to good use in making his dreams come to life. Buster Moon has an eye for the aesthetic and cares a lot about quality (Ni-Se). His draw to the visual arts also show his extraverted sensing. And he never forgets what is meaningful to him, liking to be defined by his expertise in doing what he loves to do, as well as following what was meaningful to his family (Fi). As an intuitive, he can sometimes get a little more lost in his ideas than sticking to reality, but ends up serving him well.

Eddie Noodleman--ISTP

“This show is not gonna save your theater! Maybe it's time to just move on.”

Perhaps Eddie has led a bit of an easy life, but nonetheless, he clearly most enjoys the moment and the albeit laid-back experiences he has (Se). He often approaches situations with his own logical reasoning, thinking it’s often better just to let things go and move on in a realistic manner (Se-Ti). His inferior Ni can be seen in the way that he not only lacks a future plan or goal, but more importantly that this doesn’t seem to bother him at all. Eddie is happy to live in the moment and mostly take things as they come.

Nana Noodleman--ESTJ

“Oh, lucky me. If it wasn't for my useless grandson and his ghastly little theater friend.”

Nana Noodleman isn’t afraid to voice her opinions. She enjoys the glorious sensory world of the theater, and she would love things to remain as they had been before, enjoying reliving all the experiences and the memories (Si). It’s quite important to Nana that her wishes and decisions are taken seriously, and she regularly keeps the outer world and others in check (Te). She has a soft heart below that surface, though, and it’s especially when something reaches a deep, self-defining part of herself that she opens up a bit more emotionally (Fi).

Miss Crawley--ISFJ

“Johnny, your jacket is talking.”

Miss Crawley is very loyal and caring to Buster Moon and his wishes. Even though she is elderly and a bit slow, she works tirelessly to get everything done. To the extent of which she is capable, she is careful of details and wants everything to be right. Miss Crawley dedicated and loving, and it clearly upsets her greatly when something she’s done hasn’t met expectations or wasn't done quite correctly.

Rosita--ISFJ

“Norman, would you please tell them what a good singer I am?”

Rosita is clearly a great mom, but what isn't so obvious from the surface is how great she is at singing. Even though she loves singing so much, her family and current life don’t leave much room for following that passion, so she puts it to the side (Fe over Fi). Though she does believe she can sing well, Rosita doesn’t pursue that life, sticking rather to what she knows and the way she feels things must be done (Si). She’s a bit hesitant to seek different possibilities (inf. Ne); she is hopeful to see the contest flyer, but she doesn’t race to the opportunity right away. The elaborate setup that allows her to go and audition shows some strong logic (Ti) and the importance of and comfort with routine in the household and great attention to detail (Si). She is alway very kind, understanding, and the first one to show emotional support when her fellow singers need it (Fe). Once she embraces a different side of herself, one more eager to explore all of her possibilities (Ne), she really shines.

Johnny--ISFP

“Dad, I don't want to be in your gang. I wanna be a singer.”

Johnny is kindhearted and tries very hard to do what will make his family happy, but his heart clearly isn’t in it, and for an ISFP, that’s clearly not a good place to be in. His soulful performances indicate his emotional sensitivity, and he’s generally pretty sweet natured and reserved. As much as he wants to make those he loves happy, Johnny’s strong desire to follow his dreams and do what is deeply meaningful to him end up leading him away, even in rather risky situations (Fi). In the end, nothing will really be able to stop him from doing what he loves--and he’s good at it, too; his father finally realizes this when he sees how important this passion really is.

Mike--ISTJ

“A penny? How dare you! I happen to have studied in the Lincoln School of Music!”

Though not extremely outgoing, Mike is very confident in his act and proud of what he can do. Perhaps not the healthiest personality, Mike’s world revolves greatly around his perceived self-importance. But still, his stick-to-it-ness (Si), his commanding nature that sometimes favors external logic (though unhealthy) over heart (Te), his strong belief in himself and his dreams (Fi) and the fact that it takes him a while to warm up to knew possibilities (inf. Ne) all point to his being an ISTJ. And even though he may not always be the most honest, Mike must be quite hardworking and dedicated as well with his musicianship, so not all of his pride is an over indulgence.

Meena--ISFJ

“I don't know, but...I wanna try.”

Meena is a reserved character who also suffers from shyness. She is also often held back by the fear of negative events possibly happening again (inf. Ne), and she tends to stick with a safe an trusted approach to her passion, singing by herself and dedicatedly listen to music as well. When she tries to audition, it’s largely the want to please her family that pushes her to do it (Fe). When she finally gets over her stage frights and opens up from her shyness, she is delighted to do what she loves and give the audience a wonderful time.

Ash--ISFP

“I am not singing this.”

An introspective type, Ash is initially held back by Lance, but even then, she isn’t afraid to take center stage and make music her way, even if it isn’t what the audiences are looking for at all. She bravely follows her passion regardless of the negative general opinions she gets in return plenty of times (Fi). She is thrilled when she can finally reach her audience and make them smile by being who she feels she is. She also loves the physical aspect of her art (Se), cranking the volume all the way up. Nothing bothers her more than the thought of having to play some song that isn’t her at all, and when she does compose her own song, it’s pulled straight from her heart.

Gunter--ESFP

“This stage is about to explode with major piggy power!”

This pig loves the spotlight. He shows great comfort in his physical presence (Se), and he doesn’t easily comprehend Rosita’s struggles in the area, which indicate a lack of Fe. Gunter will follow his act no matter what (Fi), not always leaving much room for the opinions of others. His Te is visible in the way he can be somewhat commanding around how the performance should be executed.

Sing (2016) Notes (OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS)

Just some notes for people who want to write fanfics or something for the movie, but forget the order of certain events happening. This list states the different main plot points that happen and certain songs that each character sings during the movie. (Obviously, there is spoilers for the entire movie. So if you haven’t seen it, don’t read. Capeche? Good.) So use this list to your leisure!

Just some side notes

-For personal purposes I’m calling Meena's family the "Inis".

-For people who don't know, Mike's love interest got her name revealed: Nancy. Just to let y'all know.

-I’m still not 100% sure when exactly Mike and Nancy escape the gangster bears for the first time at the club. If anybody would like to help clarify, I’ll appreciate it.

-The way I know about what day of the week each day was is because Eddie told Buster about his schedule: With the meeting with Nana Noodleman being on Wednesday. It also mentions how the final show is on Saturday, so I just worked from there.

-I’m just assuming that this whole story takes place in a one week time period (minus the ending scene). If info comes out about how long apart each event is, then I’ll come back to edit this correctly. (And I know it seems weird for Rosita sending her kids off to school on a Sunday. So maybe... Sunday School? IDK man, I don’t have all the info.)

•Flyer Making day (Saturday): After having a flashback on his childhood theater love (watching Nana Noodleman sing "Golden Slumbers" by The Beatles as a child), Buster bails on meeting his angry underpaid crew and bank Judith, going to meet Eddie for lunch. Moon talks about a singing competition, gets kicked out for bringing in lunch, then goes back to make flyers. Miss Crawley accidentally turns the "$1,000 prize" into "$100,000 prize", and sends the flyers soaring out the window through the city.

•Meanwhile Throughout the City: Johnny messes up with a bank heist job while singing ("The Way I Feel Inside" by "Zombies"), Mike is playing sax for money ("Take Five" by Paul Brubeck) and steals some money from a baboon. Meena is celebrating her grandpa's birthday, Rosita is singing ("Firework" by Katy Perry) but is feeling under-appreciated by Norman and her kids, Ash and Lance fail to get a gig with one of their songs ("I Don't Wanna" by themselves). They all get the flyers and are ambitious for tomorrow.

•Auditions (Sunday): Buster wakes up to a ginormous line and starts auditions (If you'd like to know which song each animal sings, look up "Sing Cast Auditions (lyrics and real song name))". Johnny arrives on his skateboard, Rosita leaves the house after she gets her kids to leave for school, Mike gets interviewed in line about auditions, Ash and Lance play their song during auditions (”I Don’t Wanna” by themselves), and they all do great. Meena however, fails to sing her song ("Chandelier" by Sia) and is pushed off of the stage by Mike (Who proceeds to sing “Pennies from Heaven” by Louis Prima). Meena goes back home, kicking a tree on her way out, causing it to lose all of its leaves. The winners of auditions are chosen (Mike, Johnny, Rosita, Gunter, Pete, Frog Trio), but Buster just now finds out about the typo from Eddie. Continues on the show anyways.

•After Auditions: The Ini family makes muffins and grandpa tells Meena to march back and demand to try again and Meena agrees, Ash argues with his boyfriend about selling out, Mike meets Nancy for the first time (trying to serenade her by playing "The Girl from Ipanema" by Antônio Carlos), Johnny gets the escape plan for the gold heist and Rosita tries to get a nanny (failing after telling she has 25 kids) and builds her grand machine to take care of the house, staying up all night to finish it, then leaving early in the morning for practice.

•Practice Day 1 (Monday): Buster gives out the song sheets to the winners, Frog trio immediately starts to argue, Japanese Foxes think they're in and practice, Rosita and Gunter start their regular dancing (with Gunter showing his dancing suit), Mike HAS his sass to the pigs, Ash complains about her songs and the blackout happens. Meena helps out with blackout and gets accepted as the stage hand.

•After practice day 1: Mike gets platinum card and car to swoon Nancy, Ash talks about writing a song to Lance who denounces it, Inis invite the street for party for Meena, Johnny practices driving for the heist escape, Bank Judith confronts Moon about money (by the end of the month must pay up), Buster and Eddie hang and Buster learns about Nana Noodleman’s fortune.

•Practices day 2 (Tuesday): Meena IS getting better at stage handling but rejects audition offer, Mike almost gets crushed while practicing (while singing "Let's Face the Music and Dance" by Fred Astaire), Pete gets sent to hospital, Frog trio breaks up, Japanese Foxes storm off. Rosita and son (Casper) try to practice with Gunter with dance sheets (and fails), Buster convinces Ash to sing "Call Me Maybe" (by Carly Rae Jepsen), Johnny isn't good with piano practices and gets called back early by his father.

•After Practices Day 2: Ash finds Lance cheating with Becky and kicks him out, Mike and Nancy escapes from the bears.

•Dress Rehersal DAY 3 (Wednesday): Buster meets Nana Noodleman and convinces her for a dress rehearsal for money, Johnny tries and fails to do both Job and Rehersal (singing "All of Me" by John Legend) at the same time and gets his gang in prison, Mike has a new suit, Ash cries while singing "Call me Maybe", Rosita comforts Ash but doubts on her talent (when singing "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift) and bails, Mike insults Rosita's talent.

•After practice Day 3: Ash rips up photos and starts work on her song ("Set it All Free"), Johnny and father argue, Johnny tries to steal money and ends up taking more piano lessons (playing a calmer version of "Im Still Standing" by Elton John), Rosita gets her groove back (dancing to "Bamboléo" by Gypsy Kings), Meena and Buster work all night to get the theater into squid theater.

•Nana Noodleman Show Day 4 (Thursday): Rosita's machine breaks down, Johnny perfects piano song, Ash shows Buster her song, Rosita comes back, Meena finally accepts a part in the show. (ORDER: Mike, Pig duo, Johnny, Ash, Meena). Nana arrives, BEARS notice Mike's car and find mike, Buster shows off the squid stage (Dancing to "Flashing Lights" by Kanye West), bears interrupt performance. Real Prize money is shown, Mike gaslights, theater is destroyed.

•After crash (Thursday night): Mike hides in sewers from bears, Rosita finds family in machine, Inis comfort Meena, Johnny's dad doesn't talk to Johnny, Ash grieves over lance, Theater land is reclaimed by bank Judith and Buster moves in with Eddie.

•Day two after Crash (Friday): Gang comes to comfort Moon but he turns them all away, Meena storms off after Buster calls them both failures, Buster and Eddie car wash fun times, Buster hears Meena sing ("Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley), Gang comes together to build a stage for the show (most likely takes two days).

•Performance Day (before performances) (Saturday): Eddie becomes new stage hand so Meena can have her part in the show, Mike bails after hearing that there's no prize money, and in audience from the start are the Inis and Rosita's family among others. Not many people show up at the start.

•Showtime: Buster faces wrong way at the start, but keeps going with the show.

-Pig duo do their act ("Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift), Mike goes back to prove watchers wrong about doing better, Norman makes amends with Rosita. More people arrive.

-Johnny begins performance ("I'm still Standing" by Elton John), dad breaks out of prison to meet him, Ash' prepares for her song, but Johnny still has doubts about himself as his father gets more police to chase after him.

-Bank Judith arrives and cuts off Ash's song ("Set it All Free" by herself), continues anyways, Judith calls police, Lance falls for Ash again, quills fly, but people loved it. Japanese foxes also show up to cheer on Ash. Johnny's dad escapes police.

-Mike shows back up and begins ("My Way" by Frank Sinatra), bears and Nancy race to Mike, Johnny and his father make amends, police arrive, Mike gets lifted up from helicopter draft, rolls with it and makes a good finisher. Watchers cry from amazement, Johnny's father leaves.

-Bears arrive, Buster helps Meena overcome stage fright, but slips up with the mic again, turning away Mike. Meena begins (Singing "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" by Stevie Wonder) gentle and slow, drawing Mike in again, and then goes full force, becoming cheerful and peppy as she sings. Bears arrive and take Mike, but Nancy saves her and the two drives away (unknowing of the bear on the back). Meena literally brings down the house, finishes up, and the group takes a bow.

•After show (time lapse unknown): Nana Noodleman buys the land from Bank Judith for Buster and rebuilds the theater, new and improved. Group and Buster (minus Mike...) meet up for the grand reopening of the Moon Theater, and the movie ends after the ribbon is cut.

The true (part 1)

Today that Nana Noodleman goes to the theater to see show.

All of the contestants are preparing for the competition, Daisy was anxious because she will finally meet Nana Noodleman and she will see her greatest talent. She was after Ash.

Until...

Ms. Crawley: Mr. Moon! She is here!

Daisy gets more nervous than ever! Meena begins to notice.

Meena: Are you nervous?

Daisy: Maybe yes...

(Everyone also notices too)

Rosita: You do not have to be nervous.

Daisy: I know, Rosita. But I have little fear that it will go wrong.

Johnny: Look, Daisy. We'll all support you.

Daisy: Really?

Ash: Yes, you have an incredible voice.

Daisy: Thank you guys!!! By the bottom of my heart!!

Rosita and Meena: Awww...

Johnny, Ash and Gunter: Your welcome.

(Buster arrives with news)

Buster: Nana has arrived and has already sat in her seat. The hour of competition will start and I wish you good luck and give your best. You work hard at rehearsals.

(When Buster noticed that a person is missing)

Buster: Where’s Mike?

Rosita: I do not know what it sounds like he was talking on the cell phone.

Buster: I hope he shows up, otherwise he'll be disqualified.

Buster: Anyway, the time of the competition! Good luck everyone!

The competition begins with introduction, but when it started. The stage was a tank of bright squid, it had different colors. Everyone are surprised and happy to see that.

But something unexpected happens, a bunch of bears appear with Mike. They wanted money because Mike cheated at card games. So they asked Buster to open the chest that has prize money, but Buster refuses to open it. A bear used his cue to break the chest, when he left... All he had in the chest was a lot of things. Everyone was in shock.

Mike: He lied!

(When everyone approaches him)

Daisy: STOP! Please,

Mike: Are you defending him?!

Daisy: Yes, I am! Because he has an explanation. I do not know if he hid the money anywhere or sold the things in the chest. Is it true, Buster?

Buster: Is not true...

Daisy: What? You lied to us. Why did not you tell the truth?

Buster: Because the theater was in financial trouble and I did not have the money to pay the debits. So the competition was the last chance to save my theater.

Daisy: That is why the theater had some problems.

From nowhere the glass of the tank begins to break and the water begins to flow out. Everyone had no idea what was going on. The theater starts a few will get flooded.

This was in 1st part. Will everyone be safe? Will they be able to escape?
