I love and appreciate wakanda forever exactly as it is, but a part of me grieves the version we didn’t get with T'Challa in it.

Because him having his story to follow with his son, while at the same time Shuri is having her own arc in Talokan with Namor, it makes everything 75% funnier.

Just imagine T'Challa, returned from the blip, mourning the years he has lost, especially trying to catch up with his son... meanwhile a god mutant king shows up to cause some mayhem and calls him out because he put his kingdom in danger by revealing Wakanda to the world. Then proceeds to kidnap his sister, who truthfully doesn’t seem to exactly mind, and who when comes back she's all like "He is not so bad once you get to know him." "What? Wait-" "And Talokan? Oh brother, it's beautiful." "Shuri..." "THEY HAVE A SUN UNDERWATER, BROTHER. A SUN."

// Shuri POV //

"Riri we need to find a way out of here! Okoye, we have to split up."

"Absolutely out of the question. Get in the car princess." She said as Riri got into her suit. I tossed the kimoyo bead onto the car as Okoye got into the driver seat. As soon as the door blew I saw our opening. 

"Activate autopilot." With that command the car drove off with Okoye inside and I took off on the dirt bike. The police wasted no time giving chase while Riri took to the skies. I dodged through oncoming traffic avoiding any cop brigades. 

"Princess, you have an overhead drone zoning in on your location. 

"How high?"

"I got it." Riri said as she ascended into the clouds. 

"Riri! You can't go that high without losing oxygen." I warned her before AI told me the tracking drone was gone. I looked up to see Riri falling from the sky and heading for the water. "Riri are you okay!?"

Miraculously she came to a stop right above the water before meeting back up with us. The police started to block off the bridge and I clenched my jaw. I honestly didn't know what more to do before Riri's voice shouted out to us.

"Got a gift for ya coming in 3, 2. The drone that was flying ahead was now scattered on the ground, crushing the police blockade. 

"Let's go!" She shouted as I came to a stop. 

"We should hurry out of here before-" everything went silent until an unknown explosion went off behind us with so much force I had to create a shield with my kimoyo beads. My head hit the concrete and everything went black. 

Okoye called out to the princess as she lay still in the street. Maneuvering her way out of the car she checked her over as Grio spoke.

"The princess is okay. She lost consciousness but she should be waking up momentarily." Okoye looked behind her as Riri was getting dragged away by a rope. She ran rlup and cut the spear before it took the girl any further. Then a group of blue skinned people emerged from the water with weapons of their own. She didn't hesitate to grab her spear to prepare for a fight. She easily took down 3 of them but then they did the impossible. They got back up. 

 Soon enough, another approached the woman with a weapon of his own. The fight between them was swift and quick till he knocked her to the ground leaving her with a distracted shoulder. Okoye looked over at the princess before snapping her bone back in place, grabbing her spear and rushing him. 

Shuri began to come to just as Okoye was tossed until the waters below. Before the threat could advance to Riri, the princess jumped in front of them with an extended hand. "I am Shuri. Princess of Wakanda and I ask that you don't hurt this girl. Take me instead." She said to them as Grio translated her words.

"We should take them both back alive." The woman nodded as the bigger man took off a mask. He approached the princess and placed this mask over her mouth and nose. 

"Breathe."

// End of Shuri POV //

You had regained consciousness about half an hour after Namora and Attuma left. You have been alone in the space ever since. You figured Namor was with his people and you let a hand brush over your face. You couldn't believe you showed him that. Your past. One you're not completely proud of.

"So stupid." You mumbled as the sound of water splashing around caught your attention. Maybe Namor was back to make you feel bad again. Your eyes lit up when they landed on a familiar face. The princess. You stood and walked around the structures to get to the other side. 

"Shuri?!" You said and she turned to you with wide eyes. 

"Y/N!" She ran up to you and wrapped her arms around you, slightly lifting you off the ground. She had grown taller. You held each other in silence before she pulled away looking you over. "Why are you here? Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm okay. Just a little lightheaded." You shocked your head and she hugged you again. She was the closest thing you had to a sister and she was standing right in front of you after not seeing her for years. She sighed into the embrace and you knew it was something she really needed. 

"What are you doing down here?" She asked with worried eyes.

"A colleague of mine brought me on a ship because they found what they thought was vibranium. Out in the Atlantic. Unfortunately it was. Namor and his people attacked and killed everyone there. Brought me here because of what I knew. Who I've been around." You said looking up at her before someone cleared their throat. You turned to see a young girl but you recognized her face from a file that the general had given you.

"The scientist?" You whispered and she nodded. 

"How did you know?" 

"I was given this information when I stepped foot on that ship. But I didn't know she was a kid. Hell, I didn't even know about the machine until they found the vibranium." You said with a scowl.

"This is Riri Williams. The machine was just a science fair project." She frowned. "Namor wants her dead for her creation. I'm trying my best to protect her." She told you and you couldn't believe it. He was willing to kill and kid over something that wasn't voluntarily her fault.

"She's just a kid. How was she supposed to know her machine would end up in the government's hands?" You shocked your head before turning to the girl. You reached for her hand and she didn't back away. Just melted into your protective aura. "We won't let him hurt you." She nodded before grabbing her head trying to make sense of the situation. One of Namor's people approached us with some clothes and presented them to the princess. 

"Way princesa. Le usados tumen le realeza way te' Talokan."

"Here princess. They are worn by royalty here in Talokan." You translated and Shuri looked back at you in confusion. Long story." Shuri changed clothes before she was told Namor had summoned her. She looked back at you and Riri and you gave her a nod.
