⊹ 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 ⊹
              ⊹ 𝙁𝘼𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍 ⊹
               ➤ Hameed Ansari, 47, alive
Her relationship with Hameed is cordial. Though both her parents have contributed to mental health issues that Kainaat still struggles with to this day, she is unable to hold a grudge against the people who raised her. That being said, Kai doesn’t forgive her father for the way he treated her brother— that was never okay. They have a rocky relationship because she blames him for driving a wedge between herself and her brother, but Hameed has since apologised and is actively making an effort to change his conservative views. Sometimes Kainaat thinks it’s too little too late, but she appreciates that her father is trying at least, which is more than what some people can say about their awful parents
               ⊹ 𝙈𝙊𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍 ⊹
               ➤ Nadia Ansari, 43, alive
Like her relationship with her father, Kainaat has a complex relationship with Nadia. On one hand, her mother caused a lot of the trauma that led to Kainaat’s eating disorder, but on the other hand, Nadia herself has gone through similar experiences with her own mother. Kainaat can recognise the signs of generational trauma and learned behaviour in her mother, making it slightly easier to forgive her for the things she's said and done. Kainaat believes her mother's heart was in the right place but her upbringing made her cruel in the aspects where a mother needed to be kind. After a thorough sit down with her mother, Kai explained all the ways in which she hurt her. To her surprise, Nadia seemed genuinely remorseful for her actions and sincerely promised to do better. Now Kainaat and Nadia have a good relationship, getting better every day that they talk about their issues together
               ⊹ 𝙎𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙍 ⊹
➤ Nawaal Ansari, two and a half years older
Kainaat’s relationships with her family have all been difficult but perhaps her most difficult relationship has been the bond she shares with her sister, Nawaal. Nawaal is the middle child and the older sister, but she never acts like it— Kai had never gone to her for support because she had always been cold and icy towards her. Growing up in the Ansari household, it was every girl for herself. While Nawaal continuously rebelled against the wishes of her parents and quickly became yet another black sheep in the family, Kainaat chose to stick to the dutiful role and keep her parents’ affections. Since neither one of her older siblings turned out to be favourable in the eyes of their parents, there was a lot of pressure on Kai to be the perfect kid they had always wanted. This caused a lot of resentment between her and the older children. Farhan was able to snap out of it earlier but Nawaal still holds a strong grudge against Kai
               ⊹ 𝘽𝙍𝙊𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍
➤ Farhan Ansari, four and a half years older
The most important relationship in her life is with her brother, Farhan. The two weren’t always on the best of terms, thanks to her family unintentionally poisoning her against him when they were younger. Despite their tendencies to get into fights, Farhan loves Kainaat very much and is very protective of her, going above and beyond to make sure she’s okay whenever the two are separated for too long. Farhan has his own fashion line and often collaborates with Kainaat’s makeup company to come up with brilliant designs that make waves on the runway
               ⊹ 𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙁𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙉𝘿 ⊹
➤ Nikolai Alexeev — same age
Kai met Nik for the first time in Greece during her vacation but had actually become close with him online before that. He had started watching her channel because she gave excellent tips on managing anxiety and he began to resonate with a lot of her struggles too. Nik eventually reached out via instagram and the two got to talking, trading stories about familial expectations and the pressures of being in the public eye. When the two met in person, they instantly clicked and quickly became friends shortly after that, bonding over their shared love for art history and cooking. Kainaat feels like she can tell him anything and he'll understand exactly what she's going through. Though they barely get a chance to meet up in person, they always find the time to stay connected through FaceTime. When they /do/ catch up face to face, Kainaat likes inviting him over to her place to guest star in her videos on productivity
               ⊹ 𝙁𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙉𝘿 ⊹
➤ Kanan Siddiqui — same age
Kanan and Kainaat met at an influencer event in Dubai. They were the first ones to show up to the event— in fact, they were two and a half hours too early. Why did it say 6PM if the event was going to start at 8? Kanan and Kainaat had a fun time talking about their different creative endeavours, and since the two are extroverts, they riffed off each other the whole night and made easy conversation without a hitch. By the end of the night, both had left the venue with a new friend
               ⊹ 𝙁𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙉𝘿 ⊹
➤ Matthieu Xiuren — 3 months older than her
Kai met Matt while she was travelling in New York, filming a vlog. She’s seen a group of skaters performing tricks at the local skate park and had asked their permission to start filming. Matt had been impressed by her videography skills and had asked her to send him the footage on instagram, where the two followed each other and quickly became friends. She likes how laid back and easy going he is, and though he is a little reserved, he’s very sweet and charming once you get to know him. Whenever they’re in the same time zone, Kai likes inviting him over to film for her podcast. He talks about the struggles he’s faced coming to terms with his mixed cultural identity— something Kai finds herself resonating with
