“But are you really sure you’re fine?” Florence asks for the millionth time over the phone. “You know, I could come over anytime, have a few drinks and forget about the idiots who decided you don’t deserve that Emmy.”
“I’m very sure,” you chuckle, sinking further down on your couch, kicking your heels off your feet. “It’s not a big deal.” “Oh it is, but you are trying to act all tough, though I know it bothers you.”
“I didn’t say it doesn’t bother me, but there’s nothing I can do about it,” you tell her truthfully.
“You know, sometimes I forget that you are this wise ass bitch, not some petty loser that I usually am.”
You snort at her words laughing loudly. Florence is by far one of the funniest people you know, she never fails to make you laugh, no matter what’s the situation.
“It’s sad that I didn’t win, but I’m fine. Really. Maybe next time it will be me,” you say, genuinely hoping this wasn’t your first nomination.
“Okay, I’ll stop bugging you, but call me if you change your mind and want company.”
“Thank you, Flo. Talk to you later.”
Once you end the call you let a long, heavy breath out that feels like you’ve been keeping in all night. Walking into your closet you stop in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror, taking a look at yourself, still wearing the burgundy pant suit you wore for the award show. You were the only woman in pants all evening and you felt more powerful than ever. You’ve always loved to make a statement with your fashion choices and tonight you feel like you definitely succeeded in getting the message through: you are a bad bitch.
Stripping out of the outfit you hang it carefully before putting on some sweats and an oversized vintage t-shirt, feeling so much more comfortable already. Your hair is still in loose waves and you kind of like the texture, so you just leave it like that, moving into your bedroom to check up on some emails.
Cozied up under your duvet, laptop resting on your thighs, you start replying to some emails, updating your schedule for the next week. You almost don’t notice the text you get, barely catching the lit up screen from the corner of your eyes. Grabbing the device from the night stand you smile down at the series of messages from Harry.
“Bunch of idiots,” the first one reads.
“I’m suing them. All of them.”
“You looked fucking unreal by the way. Couldn’t take my eyes off you.”
Biting down on your bottom lip you read the last one over and over again. It’s been weeks since your number landed in Harry’s phone and you’ve been texting nonstop since then. Whenever you pulled your phone out to check if someone had tried to reach you, there was always a text rom him waiting for you, making you smile most of the time.
“Thanks Xx,” you reply shortly, not sure how to react to his heated words of calling the whole Television Academy a bunch of idiots, though it surely warmed your heart.
“Enjoying the after party?” his next text comes fast.
“Nope, I’m home already. Didn’t feel like partying.”
“What?! You not winning is not an excuse to skip celebrating. You still got nominated!”
“Already celebrated that, so I’m out of occasions.”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t let you do that. Text me your address, I’m going over with wine and takeout.”
His bluntness in flirting and shooting his shot has been amusing to you since the moment he sat next to you on The Ellen Show. Harry Styles doesn’t shy away to try and show his attraction, or at least not towards you.
You hesitate a little, not sure if you want him here, but something deep down in your guts is telling you that you definitely want him to come over, some dirty thoughts already popping into your mind, but you are quick to get rid of them.
You send him your address and he tells you he’ll be over in twenty. You use that time to clean up a little around your apartment. You left in kind of a rush earlier, being a little late with your glam team, so you didn’t bother to leave the place in a decent state. It doesn’t take long though to clean up the mess and checking the time you see that you still have a little time until Harry arrives. As you walk past one of the mirrors in your hallway, you take a look at yourself, debating whether you should change or stay in your comfy homey outfit. At last you drop the idea to put on a different outfit, not wanting to look desperate when Harry arrives.
Not long later you get a notification from downstairs that a so called Mr. Styles has entered the building and is heading up to your floor. Running a hand through your hair you walk over to the front door and opening it you stand there, waiting for the elevator to arrive. When the familiar ding hits your ear you notice how your heart skips a beat upon seeing him walk out.
“Hi,” you smile at him holding the door open for him. He looks amazing, as always, wearing a pair of brown high-waisted pants with a loose white shirt tugged into it, a teal denim jacket topping the outfit. He looks comfortable, but still well put together, something you have always admired in his style.
“Hello, Love,” he smiles back at you and pulls you in for a short, one armed hug before walking fully inside. “Didn’t know what stuff you fancy, so I got a bunch,” he admits with a chuckle, holding up two plastic bags completely stuffed.
“You really shouldn’t have,” you shake your head at him smiling as you lock the front door and lead him into your open concept kitchen.
“But I should have,” he argues, setting the bags down to the counter, packing out everything he brought.
Three bottles of wine, all of them different kinds, snacks, both sweet and salty, topped with an insane amount of Chinese takeout that could feed a whole family, not just two people. You put the wines into the fridge though you know they won’t get chilly enough by the time you open it. Turning to Harry you smile at him shyly, only just now realizing that he is in your home for the first time.
“Want a tour?” you ask, pulling your shoulders up to your ears.
“Would love that,” he smirks and lets you lead the way.
The modern apartment in Manhattan has been your home for a little over a year now. One of the first things you invested into once you started earning like an A-list celebrity. It’s spacious, you did the interior over once you bought it, formed it a little more to your taste. You walk Harry through the living room, the three bedrooms from which one is yours, the others function as a guest room whenever a family member of one of your friends needs a place to stay. There are three bathrooms in total, a study room that’s always a mess, your desk filled with scripts and books most of the time, but Harry tells you it suits your vibe.
“And this here is my wardrobe,” you end the tour, flicking the lights on in the walk in closet, probably your favorite part of the place. It’s bigger than your bedroom, but it’s exactly what you and your passion for fashion needs.
Harry curiously walks inside, his eyes immediately stopping on the burgundy pant suit you wore earlier that night.
“This, Darling, was an excellent choice,” he smirks over at you, his fingers dancing over the soft fabric of the pants.
“Felt amazing in it,” you nod smiling.
“I bet you did,” he chuckles softly.
The two of you head back to the kitchen and sit at the kitchen island, roaming through all the food Harry has brought. A short silence comes over the room that’s broken by Harry first.
“So how are you really feeling about tonight?”
“I’m fine,” you shrug, but then feel his hand on your knee that’s closer to him and your eyes flicker over to him, his gaze burning down on you intently.
“No, I’m asking fo’ real. You don’t have to mask your disappointment.”
Licking your lips you look back at your plate filled with dumplings and you start to just poke them around with the chopsticks in your hand.
“Of course I’m disappointed. Who wouldn’t want to win? But there’s not much I can do about it, right?”
“Still, you shouldn’t push it all down.”
“I’m not the type to rage very publicly, if you haven’t realized that,” you chuckle, diverting your eyes back at him, catching a soft smile on his lips.
“That I know of. Miss No Beef,” he teases you, even though you could pretty much say the same thing about him. “I was properly screaming at the screen when they said someone else’s name over yours.”
“Yeah?” you chuckle.
“Mhm. I was rooting for you big time.”
“Well,” you sigh turning back to your plate. “Sorry to disappoint.”
“Nah-ah, none of that crap, Y/N,” he protests right away, dropping his chopsticks to his plate as he slides off his stool, stepping closer to you, one hand lying flat on the counter, while the other one finds the underside of your stool and he easily turns you so you are facing him, your knees involuntarily parting so he could stand between them. “I’m not letting you think of any less of yourself because of some stupid award.”
“The Emmys are not stupid,” you correct him, but it seems like he doesn’t even hear you, staring down at you with a smug grin, his hand moving from the stool to your waist.
“Mhm, they are. They made the most talented and beautiful woman think she is not the best of all.”
You can’t push down the smile that tugs on your lips as you watch him slowly lean closer. Heart beating faster, you let him do whatever he has on his mind, not finding the will to push him away. Not that you want to do that, you’d be stupid to say no to this man.
“Who’s this woman we are talking about?” you breathe out with a teasing smile. Harry smirks back at you, his hand squeezing your waist gently as his other hand moves up to the base of your neck, his thumb running along your jawline.
“The woman I’ve been fantasizing about lately.”
A desperate whimper tries to escape your lips, but you bite it back in time, feeling so lost how much effect he has on you with just a simple sentence.
“What are these fantasies about?” you find yourself asking as he leans closer, his nose brushing against yours.
You’re aching for his lips, to feel him touch you everywhere. You want to come undone under his hands and the breaking point where you won’t be able to mask up your desperate feelings is threateningly close.
“I’ve been thinking about making her feel real good. Watch her fall apart under my touch,” he murmurs lowly and this time, you can’t hold that moan back. Your lips brush against his, but he pulls back smirking, not kissing you.
“Fuck,” you breathe out when you feel his hand move from your waist to your stomach, cheekily teasing you as he is drawing circles around your belly button over the soft fabric of your shirt.
“Can I touch you, Y/N? I really want to make you feel appreciated and good. Will you let me do that?”
Not able to find your voice you whimper out something that’s close to being a yes, but it’s not enough for him and while you are losing touch with what’s really going on, Harry is very much enjoying seeing you like this, all for himself.
“Use your words, Love. I wanna hear you say it.”
“Yes!” you choke out and luckily, he doesn’t waste any more time.
You feel his lips connect with your neck as both his hands work on the waistband of your sweats, pushing them further down a little before his right hand taps on the top of your lacy underwear, the one you wore under your suit tonight, the one Harry definitely thought about when he first saw you through his screen.
You gasp when his hand slides into your underwear, fingers finding your sensitive bud of nerves, pressing down on them softly. You desperately turn your face, eager to meet his lips, but he pulls back for your dismay.
“Not now, Love,” he tells you and though the words sting a little, you don’t have much time to dwell on them when you feel his fingers slide back and forth between your soaking wet folds. “So wet for me, aren’t you?” he smirks while you’re trying to breath evenly, though it’s quite the challenge.
His lips return to your neck and your hands fly up to grab onto the back of his neck and shoulders, his fingers teasing you around your hole, not entering just yet. You start buckling your hips, desperate to get him take the next step and he is surely enjoying the show you are putting on for him.
“Ready to feel good?”
“Yes,” you breathe out, hands grabbing onto his hair roughly and a loud moan escapes your lips when he pushes two of his fingers inside you.
“Fuck, this feels so nice,” he groans, lips nipping on the soft skin under your ear. He is quick to take up on a pace, moving his digits in and out, his thumb circling on your clit, adding that extra magic most men always forget about. But not Harry, he is eager to please you the best he can and if you weren’t sitting, you’d be on your knees for him by now.
“Yeah, tug on my hair, Darling,” he growls, his voice sending chills down your spine as you tighten your grip in his hair just as he asked, while you feel your climax building up.
He picks up his pace, curling his fingers inside you every time he thrusts them in, making you almost see stars. Your legs fly around his waist, ankles crossing above his bum as you bring him closer, and a whimpered groan bursts out of him, probably because his erection just got squeezed against his hand by your action, his nonstop moving hand now stuck between your heated core and his throbbing member. When his head pulls back you quickly look at him, about to ask if he is alright, but he just presses a soft, lingering kiss to the corner of your mouth as his unsaid answer that he is perfectly fine.
His forehead comes to rest against yours as he adds a third finger, making you moan his name in ecstasy. Your mind is starting to completely shut down, the sensation of utter pleasure taking over your whole body as you can feel your orgasm just a few thrusts away.
“C’mon, Love. Let it go for me,” he mumbles, his free hand sliding to your back so he keeps you flushed against him, your heaving chest touching his upper body with each drawn breath.
“Fuck, I’m so close,” you pant, eyes screwed shut, tipping over the edge of your climax. “Please don’t stop!” you beg whining.
“Never, Darling.”
And he keeps his words. He keeps going and going until your walls close up around his slick fingers and your thighs tremble around his waist. You tug on his hair once again, pulling his head back just enough so your eyes meet right when you come undone. His fingers keep moving a little longer, bringing you down from your high before the last wave of your orgasm dies down and you are brought back to reality.
When his fingers slide out of you, the feeling of emptiness makes you breathe out in dismay and it brings a smile to his lips as he licks his fingers clean and you swear that’s the hottest thing you’ve ever seen, watch him taste your pleasure on his own fingers.
Glancing down you see the very visible bulge in his pants and you reach down to return the favor you just had the pleasure to get, but his hands wrap around your wrists stopping you, your eyes snapping up to meet his.
“Not now, Love. This was all about you. I’ll be fine.”
“But—“ “No,” he cuts you off shaking his head gently. “Seeing you like this was more than enough for me.”
Biting down on your bottom lip you feel yourself blushing at his words, the whole situation that just went down dawning on you just now. Harry really did just finger you on one of your kitchen stools and it was one hell of an experience for sure.
When your gaze wanders over to his lips you remember how he refused to kiss you and now you actually have the chance to pay more attention to this tiny detail.
“Why didn’t you kiss me?” you ask him, legs falling from his waist as he goes to sit back on his stool. He glances at you, a soft smile on the lips that never touched yours.
“I wasn’t planning to do this, but I just couldn’t stop myself. However, I’m still trying to be a gentleman, so I won’t kiss you until I’ve taken you out on a proper date.”
“I can’t believe you,” you chuckle shaking your head at the absurdity of what he just said. “So you are fine fingering me shamelessly, but you won’t kiss me without a date?” you ask, rephrasing his words.
“That’s right,” he nods, his smile growing into a smirk now. Shaking your head you turn back to your probably cold plate of food, chuckling to yourself.
“Harry Styles, you are… something else.”

Monument 14 Trilogy Review!!
I just finished reading the Monument 14 series by Emmy Laybourne, and it was really good! It’s a story about a massive series of disasters and 14 kids get trapped inside a Greenway superstore, and how they survive and cope.
Spoilers under the cut!
ok, trigger warnings for mentions of sexual assault
I think the first book was my favorite of the trilogy. At first I wasn’t too much of a fan because the pacing seemed slightly weird. Like, zero exposition, by page like, two, there’s already a disaster going on.
But once I got into it, I just couldn’t put it down! Dean, the main character, was very interesting and pretty relatable, at least to me. Loser nerd kid type.
I loved the little kids! They were all so funny and I think the author really did a good job portraying young children, and how they were all very different and had different habits/personalities/coping mechanisms. The twins and Max were my favorite of the littles.
The whole disaster thing was pretty crazy and intense. First massive volcano eruption, then tsunami, weird weather patterns, and then chemical compounds leak everywhere and cause crazy effects based on your blood type.
Let’s just say, the fact this was taking place in 2024 was not sitting well with me, lmao. If this kind of shit happens I will be dead, because me and everyone in my family has type O blood, aka the “kill everything on sight” people
When they let the grown ups inside I was like “noooooo this is bad” and it was! Robbie molested Sahalia, and then the guys did the proper response and killed him. Good on them.
Except Brayden and Jake just gave me really bad vibes the whole time. They were acting realllly creepy around Sahalia, and if Josie hadn’t stepped in we could have had high school seniors with a 13 year old. I don’t care how old she dresses, she is t h i r t e e n.
I knew that someone was gonna get pregnant. Even in the apocalypse, locking a bunch of hormonal teenagers in with each other is not a good idea. Though, I’m pretty sure Astrid was already pregnant before this whole thing.
Anyway, loved book one a lot!
If I’m being completely honest, Astrid and Dean really didn’t seem like a good couple to me. Like, it just felt like one moment Astrid didn’t really care and the next they were making out or something? They had more development after the fact, but I just felt weird that she didn’t care about him and then suddenly, overnight, she’s in love with him.
The last part of book two I think was trying to be intense? But for some reason I wasn’t a huge fan. All of the chapter breaks after like one paragraph just made it feel choppy to me, rather than intense. Or maybe that’s because I read it at like 3 in the morning.
Book two was great!
Book three was... not my fav. It had hardly any little kid content, and their group was all split up and I was sad. Jake was honestly an asshole, and I just wasn’t a fan of him.
Forgot to mention, when Brayden died... I didn’t care like, at all. If the author wanted more emotions she should have killed someone I actually cared about, like.. literally anyone else. I would have been more sad if the dog died.
Anyway, while book three was good, it just wasn’t my favorite. There seemed to be a lot of lucky breaks with people? Like, all these kids parents were in Colorado, but for some reason Brayden’s dad was working in Maryland? Where? How?
And then after all of the drama over Josie’s spinal tap, it never happened, and we never learned what would have happened. I felt a bit led on. Not that I wanted her to die or get hurt, but I just wanted to know what would have actually happened rather than vague “you shouldn’t do that it’s bad”
The cast of characters was fairly diverse, I guess. Batiste was Korean, Ulysses was Hispanic, Josie was black, and I’m pretty sure Niko was Native American. It didn’t say explicitly, but from his description and the nickname and stuff he was given, I think he could have been. No gay couples, though there totally could have been. Niko gave me some real bi energy, tbh. Dean and Alex were sort of ethnically ambiguous, but not really. Almost positive they were white.
Anyway, all in all, it was a really great series and I really liked it! Definitely recommend!

SUMMER MOVIE RECAP
I know, I know; It’s been over two months since I have written anything and I am sorry! There are PLENTY OF MOVIES to go over.  Half of this will be a rent list and half will be a theater list. This will be a different kind of post, it will be a “See or not to see” list. So, here we go.
IN THEATERS NOW:
Tumblr media
Spider-Man: Homecoming PG-13 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8.1/10 on IMDB
SEE THIS MOVIE IN IMAX!!!
Holy cow guys, what a great movie. Rotten Tomatoes is ranking it in the top 5 comic book film list ever. Tying with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, Fellow MCUer and the film that started the MCU 2008′s Iron Man, and Logan. This has definitely been the year of comic book films with five already released and one more on the way.
My wife and I saw this movie in IMAX and it did not disappoint. This is the first Spider-Man film I’ve actually liked in 13 years since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. The prologue of this film picks up following the events of 2012′s Avengers with a New York clean up crew led by Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) cleaning up the mess the Chitauri Army, Loki, and the Avengers left. Another time jump to Peter Parker filming on a go pro the events that took place during Captain America: Civil War in 2020. Then another time jump two months later to where this story takes place.
Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is a sophomore in High School and is considered a loser nerd. Nope there is no Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborne, or J, Jonah Jameson in this version folks. This takes us back to the basics. Peter is just trying to navigate how to be a teenager and have powers. Interestingly enough, this is the first cinematic Spider-Man without an origin story, AND IT WORKED!
Tumblr media
Yes, Hot Aunt May is the best part of the movie. Marisa Tomei stole the whole movie. I think she should get her own spinoff. She is a great mother figure to Peter. And Tony Stark (RDJ) cannot get over how unbelievably attractive she is.
The entire cast top to bottom, Holland, Tomei, Michael freaking Keaton, WOW WOW WOW; Jon Favreau, Zendaya, everyone is fantastic in this new take on Spider-Man.
Go see this movie in theaters. Excited for what we are going to see from the new Spider-Man, Mr. Tom Holland!
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman PG-13 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.9/10 on IMDB
More babes.
Gal Gadot is the fox of all foxiness. She is also incredibly elegant, witty, and stands for unity and love in DCEU’s take on Wonder Woman.
She didn’t come to a fresh start in Batman v Superman. One of the worst comic book films of all time, the script was so bad they only gave her three lines of dialogue. She was the only thing that makes the film watchable because she stole the entire movie. With Zack Snyder at the helm of the DCEU, the Wonder Woman film was not so promising with three out of three bad movies already on the slate.
This film was shockingly good. All the characters were great. Chris Pine was amazing, Danny Huston was a great villain, and the reveal plot/twist of the main villain was also great. This movie was full of action, great visuals, stunts, and humor!
This movie was not full PC (politically correct) and try to push feminist agendas which I liked. It portrayed women as loving, caring, smart, and charming, but can be badasses and not over sexualized.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE BEFORE IT LEAVES THEATERS!!!
Tumblr media
Despicable Me 3 PG 61% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6.4/10 on Rotten Tomatoes
Universal looooooves milking their franchises. Mummy, Fast and Furious, Despicable Me, Jurassic...the list keeps on going.
Gru and the Minions are back for the 4th time in seven years to take on another evil villain who thinks he is badder than Gru, IMAGINE THAT!
Yes, it has its humor, yes its a great movie for kids, but unless you have kids, there is no reason to go to the theater to see this. Save your money for Dunkirk or Planet of the Apes.
If you love these movies, wait for rental, it will be out in September.
Tumblr media
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales PG-13, 29% on Rotten, 7.0 on IMDB.
Unfortunately in today’s cinema culture, if you do not have a good score on Rotten Tomatoes 24 hours prior to release, you’re not going to do well in the box office. Sad day for the swashbuckler franchise.
I honestly thought it was one of the stronger movies in the franchise. It was a whole lot better than the third and fourth installments. Unfortunately it did not do well enough to include a sixth installment, so it is looking like this is the final adventure for Captain Jack Sparrow.
I liked it, but didn't love it. What this film did was make my love for the first two films grow and appreciate the characters a lot more. I don’t care what anyone says, Geoffrey Rush is part of the heart and soul of this franchise, His character in this final installment makes him one of the most lovable anti-heroes (or villains) ever. Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann make their return and they get the ending we were all hoping for. Javier Bardem is 100x better than Bill Nighy’s awful CGI filled Davy Jones character. Due to the technology, this is the best film of the franchise as far as visuals go. With the new characters they could have easily renamed the film Pirates: The New Generation.
This movie honestly needed a lot less Johnny Depp. It was overacted and too much. I like him less and less every film.
This will be a great movie for rentals, probably your best renter this year. It is still in limited theaters, but don’t go out of your way to find it. It will be out on digital 9/19.
Tumblr media
The Fate of the Furious PG-13 66% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6.9/10 on IMDB
Guilty pleasure.
I hate to love these movies, but I do. We watched on Exodus KODI on digital and I was surprised at how good it was and how they can keep the plot going. I would rank it as third best in the franchise next to the original film and Dwayne Johnson’s debut in the franchise: Fast Five.
Following this film there will be a F9 and F10, as well as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham getting their own spinoff from the franchise after studio altercations between Johnson and Diesel. Vin, we know you are Dom Toretto, but clearly you cannot smell what the Rock is cooking...step off.
Great renter, I wish we would have seen in theaters, but it will not disappoint in your living room.
Tumblr media
Gold 43% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6.7/10 on IMDB
It’s strange. Matthew McConaughey is one of my all time favorite actors, but since Interstellar in 2014, all he has done is crap movies. Makes me hesitant to go see The Dark Tower next month. I honestly think he believes changing his appearance and weight will win him Oscars and Emmys. I mean he did it for Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective, it will work again right?
No Matthew, it won’t.
If you want to completely waste your time, watch this movie. One of his worst films to date. Now on DVD and Digital.
Tumblr media
Saban’s (Mighty Morphin reboot) Power Rangers 45% RT, 6.2 IMDB
It just keeps getting worse and worse people.
If you’re a 90s kid, you loved the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, if you go back and watch the nostalgic 3 season series on Netflix its so campy for its time. Its as bad as the 60s Batman series, but yes I understand it was made for kids, as this film probably was too. Its not made for grown ups who watched the series as a child, if that was their goal, they did a terrible job. Its such a campy 2017 movie. The CGI is not even that good and you can tell it was done a tight budget. Looked like a TV movie.
Sorry 22-30 year olds, but let the nostalgia on this one stay nostalgia and don’t see this movie. (Don’t worry the sequel wasn’t greenlit). Now on DVD and digital.
Tumblr media
A Dog’s Purpose 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6.7/10 on IMDB
All dogs don’t go to Heaven apparently. Nope, they get reincarnated into other dogs’ bodies. Yes people, yes that is the plot of this film, told from a reincarnated dog’s perspective who remembers all of his lives. What a retarded concept for a movie. My wife was watching at home and I caught the last hour.
It might be the stupidest movie I have ever wasted precious life on. No one should see this movie, I am not even going to let you know of it’s availability for rental because I would do a disservice to you.
Well that’s a rap peeps! Next review will be on Nolan’s Dunkirk dropping next weekend!
Thanks for reading!

10 years ago today we were introduced to a rag tag group of losers who, with a song in their hearts, were just looking for a place to belong as they made their way through high school in Nowhereville, Ohio. We met a young teacher trying to rediscover his passion for teaching. We came across your usual high school jocks and cheerleaders, we had our first run-in with a slightly scary, slightly crazy cheerleading coach, and we heard that iconic song for the first time closing out the episode.
Yes today marks 10 years since Glee’s pilot aired. How little we knew then the impact this show about a high school glee club that was littered with song and dance numbers that ran the gamut from top 40 pop to rap to classic rock to Broadway staples would have on our lives. And it’s not just our lives that it changed, it also changed the TV landscape… bringing musicals back to TV, opening up mainstream TV to LGBT issues, and raising awareness of issues from the value of arts education to texting and driving.
Let’s take a look at where the cast are now.
Dianna Agron – Quinn Fabray
Credit: FOX
Credit: Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images North America
Dianna became a household name as the Queen Bee head cheerleader Quinn Fabray with the seemingly picture perfect life… little did we know from that very first episode. Following her character’s high school graduation at the end of season 3, Dianna only appeared in a handful of episodes for the rest of Glee’s run. Since landing Glee, Dianna has had a number of film roles. They include The Hunters (2011), I Am Number Four (2011), The Family (2013), Zipper (2015), Bare (2015), and The Crash (2017). She also made her London theatre debut as Dahlia in the play McQueen in 2015. Dianna married Mumford & Sons’ Winston Marshall in 2016.
Chris Colfer – Kurt Hummel
Credit: FOX
Credit: Chris Colfer/Instagram
Chris was a cherub-faced 19-year-old when Ryan Murphy created the role of Kurt Hummel for him and just like his character, Chris is not taking ‘no’ for an answer and forging his own career as a storyteller. Chris won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his portrayal of the fashion-forward countertenor in 2011. During the Glee 2011 hiatus, Chris wrote and starred in the film Struck by Lightning. Chris adapted the film’s script into a novel, which was published in November 2012. While working on the Struck and during breaks in the Glee Live! in Concert! tour through North America, the UK and Ireland, Chris was working on his draft for The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, the first in his fantasy children’s series and earning him his first New York Times Bestseller’s list entry. The novel has spawned five sequels, two picture books and a couple of companion books, not to mention a number of other Bestseller’s list entries. It was announced last year that the first book was being adapted for film. Chris will not only serve as writer and executive producer, but will also make his directorial debut on the project. He also released his second Young Adult novel – Stranger than Fanfiction – in 2017. Although his writing has kept Chris largely busy since Glee wrapped, he has had a guest spot on Hot in Cleveland and guest starred in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
Jane Lynch – Sue Sylvester
Credit: FOX
Credit: Andrew Toth/WireImage
When Glee debuted 10 years ago, Jane Lynch was probably the best-known cast member. It’s hard to imagine anyone else in cheer coach and Will Schuester/Glee club antagonist Sue Sylvester. Jane had some of the best one-liners throughout the series, with many still littering social media today. From 2013, Jane has hosted NBC’s game show Hollywood Game Night (on which a number of her Glee castmates have appeared) for which she was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Host in 2018. That same year was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor for her role in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Jane executive produced and starred in the comedy web series Dropping the Soap, earning an Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series Emmy nomination for her performance. Her autobiography, Happy Accidents was published in 2011, and Jane returned to the stage, making her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan for a limited engagement in 2013 in the Annie revivial and touring her cabaret show, See Jane Sing, which debuted in 2015.
Jayma Mays – Emma Pilsbury
Credit: FOX
Credit: NBC
Jayma played the germaphobe McKinley High guidance counselor, who always had a motivational leaflet on hand for any occasion. Her infatuation with Will Schuester provided her with much angst in the first few seasons, but her patience and long-suffering was finally rewarded, notwithstanding her runaway bride escapade. Jayma starred alongside Neil Patrick Harris in the two Smurf movies and had lead roles in the TV series The Millers (2013-2015) and Trial & Error (2017-2018). Jayma and husband Adam Campbell welcomed their son, Jude in August 2016.
Kevin McHale – Artie Abrams
Credit: FOX
Credit: Roc Nation
Former boy band member, Kevin took on the role of wheelchair bound Artie Abrams. Since Glee wrapped in 2015, Kevin spent some time in the UK hosting the comedy panel show Virtually Famous for its first three seasons. He also played supporting roles in the independent film Boychoir and the docudrama miniseries When We Rise, which detailed the history of US LGBT rights advocacy from the 1970s to the 2010s. On the music front, Kevin joined fellow Glee star Darren Criss in Katy Perry’s celeb-filled video for her 2011 hit “Last Friday Night “(T.G.I.F.)” and has recently my working on new solo work, with his song “Help Me Now” released at the end of March. Kevin can also be heard every Thursday with best friend and Glee co-star Jenna Ushkowitz on their podcast Showmance – part of the Ladygang Network, of which fellow co-star Becca Tobin is co-creator of.
Lea Michele – Rachel Berry
Credit: FOX
Credit: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Lea starred as the Broadway-obsessed, New Directions-lead diva, Rachel Berry. Following Glee’s end, Lea joined Ryan Murphy’s new Fox comedy horror series, Scream Queens. Lea played Hester Ulrich for the show’s two seasons. In 2017 she starred as Valentina Barella in ABC’s ill-fated sitcom The Mayor, which despite positive critical acclaim, was cancelled after one season. Lea made her feature film debut in 2011’s New Year’s Eve. Lea has released two studio albums: Louder (2014) and Places (2017), and has recently teased work beginning on a new album. She promoted Places in 2017 with the mini tour An Intimate Evening with Lea Michele, which took her to nine cities in the US as well as Toronto, Canada and London, UK. She teamed up with fellow Glee-alum Darren Criss for the LM/DC Tour in 2018, which saw the pair perform across North America, the UK and Ireland. Lea has also penned two books: the New York Times Bestseller Brunette Ambition and You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life. Lea married president of clothing brand AYR, Zandy Reich earlier this year.
Cory Monteith – Finn Hudson
Credit: FOX
Credit: rederick M. Brown/Getty Image
Cory played the lovable giant Finn Hudson, McKinley’s star quarterback who also slayed it on the drums and could nail any classic rock song. While working on Glee, Canadian native starred in Monte Carlo and Sisters & Brothers, both were released in 2011. Cory made no secret of his struggles with addiction, both before and during Glee. Cory was found dead in a Vancouver hotel in July 2013. His two films, All The Wrong Reasons and McCanick were released posthumously. The cast and crew paid tribute to both Cory and Finn in the season 5 episode, “The Quarterback”.
Matthew Morrison – Will Schuester
Credit: FOX
Credit: Getty Images
The role of McKinley High’s inept Spanish teacher who revives the glee club was played by Matthew Morrison. Matt released his first solo studio album in 2011. The self-titled album was followed up in 2013 with the release of Where It All Began, a collection of Broadway standards. Matt also starred in The Muppets (2011) and the film adaptation of bestselling book, What To Expect When You’re Expecting (2012). Matt returned to the Broadway stage in 2015, performing the title role of J.M. Barrie in the new musical Finding Neverland. The role earned him two Broadway.com Audience Awards: Favorite Actor in a Musical and Favorite Onstage Pair (with Laura Michelle Kelly). He has had recurring roles on The Good Wife and Grey’s Anatomy and earlier this year, Matt was one of the dance captain’s in BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer. He married Renee Puente in 2014. The couple welcomed their first child, Revel in 2017.
Amber Riley – Mercedes Jones
Credit: FOX
Credit: Getty Images North America
With a killer set of pipes and a huge dose of diva, Amber Riley played the unstoppable Mercedes Jones. Amber put her years of Glee dance training to use, taking out the Mirror Ball trophy on Dancing with the Stars. She starred as Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North, in NBC’s live performance of The Wiz in 2015. Amber then came across to London and made her West End debut as Effie White in Dreamgirls, a role that won her the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2017. Later that year she was a judge on BBC One’s musical talent show Let It Shine. She also joined forces with Beverley Knight and Cassidy Janson as Leading Ladies. They released their first album, Songs from the Stage at the end of 2017.

Mark played McKinley’s resident “badass” Puck. A bully who has been in and out of juvie, he’s Finn Hudson’s best friend and teammate on the football team, however, this doesn’t stop him from knocking up Finn’s girlfriend Quinn. But this relationship does bring him to the New Directions as a way to be closer to Quinn. Mark released the studio album Pipe Dreams in 2010 where it received modest success reaching 29 on the US Indie chart. In 2013 Mark was accused of sexual battery, which was settled out of court. He was later arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. He died by suicide in January 2018 before he was sentenced.

More recently she has joined Glee best friend and costar Kevin McHale as co-hosts of the Ladygang Network podcast Showmance. Jenna also founded Kindred: The Foundation for Adoption with fellow adoptee Samantha Futerman.
Heather Morris – Brittany Pierce

In what was only meant to be a background role, Heather Morris so endeared ditzy cheerleader Brittany Pierce to the fans and the Glee writers that she quickly became a series regular. Heather provided the voice of Katie in Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) and has starred in Spring Breakers (2013), Most Likely to Die (2015) and Folk Hero & Funny Guy (2016). Heather appeared in the 2017 season of Dancing with the Stars, being eliminated in the sixth week of the competition. Heather gave birth to her son, Elijah with Taylor Hubbell in 2013. Harry was involved in a number of web series during Glee’s run, including Step Up 3-D and Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Since Glee he has starred in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and the hit 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians. With a failed audition for Finn Hudson behind him, Darren Criss was cast as rival glee club Dalton Academy’s lead singer, Blaine Anderson, in season 2’s sixth episode, “Never Been Kissed”. Initially a short guest stint as a role model-type character for Kurt, the chemistry between Darren and Chris Colfer and the fan response to both Darren and his debut song “Teenage Dream” soon saw him join the regular cast. Darren made his Broadway debut in a three week stint as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in January 2012. He went straight from Glee into rehearsals for Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch, taking the stage for 12-weeks in 2015. He reprised the role for the San Francisco and LA legs of the US tour in 2016. He has starred in the films Girl Most Likely (2012) and the upcoming WWII drama Midway. The film All You Ever Wished For, which was filmed straight after his first Hedwig run and received limited cinema release, will be available on DVD from next month. Darren teamed up with Ryan Murphy again as Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, a role which won him a slew of awards in the past award season including the Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG for Best Actor in a Limited Series.
Darren’s first solo tour, Listen Up, played to sold out venues in Glee’s 2013 summer hiatus. He formed the band Computer Games with his brother Chuck last year. They released their debut EP Lost Boys Life and played a few concerts around the US and in Mexico. They are set to release some new tracks over the next few months. Darren released his second solo EP Homework at the end of 2017. He toured with co-star Lea Michele throughout 2018 as well as performed intimate solo sets in London and Sydney. Darren realised a long-held dream in 2015, with the launch of Elsie Fest – a Broadway and pop music festival. The festival has been held annually in New York City. Darren married long-time girlfriend Mia Swier earlier this year. They opened the piano bar Tramp Stamp Granny’s in LA last year.

10 Restaurants and Bars Based on Your Favorite TV Shows
If you’ve ever longed to drink a beer at a bar where everybody knows your name, celebrate a Bayside Tigers victory with a burger and milkshake or thank your gal pals for being a friend over a shared cheesecake, you’re in luck. All around the world, hit television shows have been providing inspiration for restaurateurs and bar owners, so whether your small-screen tastes lean toward classic sci-fi or cheesy ‘90s teen dramadies, there’s a place for you. Here are 10 of our favorites, based on all your favorite TV shows.
1. Rue La Rue Café from The Golden Girls
Though she amassed more than 100 acting credits throughout her nearly-50-year career, the late Rue McClanahan will always be best known for her role as randy retiree Blanche Devereaux in the beloved NBC series The Golden Girls. Though McClanahan passed away in 2010, her legacy lives on at Rue La Rue Café, a European-style café that just opened in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood last month. The brainchild of Michael J. LaRue, a longtime friend (and dare we say “con-fi-dant”) of McClanahan’s, LaRue described the eatery — which has been jam-packed since it opened — as “a museum with good food.” Among the many cherished items on display are various pieces of clothing she wore both on the screen and stage, her 1987 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and a replica of the feisty foursome’s Florida kitchen. Save some room for cheesecake!
You can see photos of actress Rue McClanahan on display at the restaurant. Image courtesy of Rue La Rue Café via Facebook.
2. George’s Bar from Seinfeld
Though the show was set in New York City and filmed in Los Angeles, if you want to pay tribute to Seinfeld’s most lovable loser, you’re going to have to head to the Land Down Under. In early 2016, George’s Bar — a tribute to all things George Costanza — opened in Melbourne’s Fitzroy neighborhood. Though its façade belies the Seinfeld obsession within, it doesn’t take more than a quick look at the art on the walls — as well as an entire entryway filled with George’s best quotes, written in sharpie by visitors — or a glance at the menu to realize you’ve been transported to Costanza-land. In addition to a menu of more than a dozen beers and ciders, there’s also a small menu of toasties — like the Art Vandelay, a tasty ham and cheese sandwich — or you can order signature Seinfeld favorites like Snickers, Twix and pretzels (because, hey, “These pretzels are making me thirsty!) There’s no secret handshake needed to get inside, but we’d recommend learning the Van Buren Boys’ sign, you know, just in case.
A visit to the bar about nothing should be on every Seinfeld fan’s bucket list. Image courtesy of George’s Bar via Facebook.
3. Saved by the Max from Saved by the Bell
In early 2016, it was announced that the Bayside Tigers would be coming to Chicago’s Wicker Park via Saved by the Max, a Saved by the Bell-inspired pop-up restaurant that was scheduled to open — and close — last summer. Summer came and went, but the crowds remained, and nearly a year later, it’s still open and reservations are still strongly recommended. The restaurant is a pretty close replica of The Max, Zack Morris and the gang’s favorite diner, complete with retro video games, a jukebox and even a row of lockers. Who needs to pop caffeine pills when there’s all this excitement?

4. Central Perk from Friends
If you ever wondered whether the very specific humor of Friends got lost in translation when it aired in international markets, consider this: Beijing is home to its own version of Central Perk, the coffee shop favored by the friends of Friends. But rather than create an exact replica, the café is set up more like a set, a subtle reminder that makes it feel a bit like a studio tour — there’s even a laugh track. In addition to that big orange couch, there’s a resident feline named — you guessed it — Smelly Cat, and the series plays on a loop. A separate room recreates Joey and Chandler’s apartment, foosball table and dartboard included (but no Duck and Chick). Amazingly, the Beijng café is not the only time Central Perk has sprung to life — there’s one in Singapore, too. In honor of the show’s 20th anniversary in 2014, a pop-up version of the café opened for about a month in New York City, and Gunther was there to welcome guests.

5. ABQ London from Breaking Bad
It may not have the Sandia Mountain views, but ABQ London has created a pretty powerful formula for replicating the Breaking Bad experience — in a bar — and best of all, it’s a completely interactive experience. For £30 (~$37) apiece, guests can book an hour and 45 minutes of time in ABQ’s RV-turned-cocktail lab. With Walter White’s chemistry manual as your guide, you can cook up a few batches of cool cocktails like The Gale, a mix of tequila, mezcal, Kahlua, cold-brewed coffee and cinnamon espresso topped with green cardamom and pink peppercorn hydrosol air. Unfortunately, there’s no Los Pollos Hermanos around (though a short-lived version of the chicken joint will pop up at SXSW in Austin later this month). Yeah, science!

6. Walter’s Coffee Roastery also from Breaking Bad
Somewhere between the aforementioned Central Perk and ABQ London is Walter’s Coffee Roastery, a Breaking Bad-style coffee laboratory — or Coffee Super Lab — that takes a more scientific approach to java. “From extraction and brew temperatures to espresso machine pressure and grinder configuration, we have coffee down to a science,” states the company’s website. After beginning its life in Istanbul in 2015, a second outpost opened in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood in September, while a third recently opened in Dubai.

 7. Cheers from, well, Cheers
Given Cheers’ popularity throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, it was really only a matter of time before someone thought to create a replica bar. And that does exist, in Boston’s Faneuil Hall. But then there’s the “real” Cheers, the Beacon Hill bar formerly known as the Bull & Finch Pub, which has been around for nearly 125 years and was the inspiration behind the series. It kept its original name until 2002, when it was renamed for the series it inspired. (We know, it’s confusing.)

8. The Pandorica from Doctor Who
Whether your allegiance lies with The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) or you’re more of an old-school Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) type, Doctor Who fans of every stripe can come together to celebrate their favorite Time Lord at The Pandorica, a restaurant in Beacon, New York, named after the fictional prison built under Stonehenge to contain The Doctor. According to the website, it’s a place where “you can enjoy watching Doctor Who whilst indulging in an eclectic menu of intergalactic comfort foods starting with ‘spoilers’ and ending with ‘sweeties.’” And yes, The Doctor’s favorite dish — fish fingers and custard — is on the menu.

9. The Way Station also from Doctor Who
90 minutes from The Pandorica (or even faster if traveling via TARDIS) is The Way Station, another ode to the BBC’s long-run sci-fi series in Brooklyn. More of a music venue than a straight-up fan hotspot, the bar’s main feature — a TARDIS at the bar — makes for a great photo op.
The perfect photo-op for Dr. Who fans everywhere. Image courtesy of The Way Station via Facebook.
10. The Black Lodge from Twin Peaks
More than 25 years after it went off the air, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks still maintains a devoted following. And while fans don’t have long to wait until the May 21 series’ revival on Showtime, they can get their fix of a damn good cup of coffee in one of two places: Twede’s Cafe in North Bend, Oregon, which played the part of the Double R Diner in the original series, or The Black Lodge, a charmingly rustic and appropriately Lynchian bar and (vegetarian) restaurant located in a cabin in Vancouver, British Columbia about 500 miles north. In addition to a nice selection of local beers, The Black Lodge features a Twin Peaks-inspired cocktail menu. We like the Dr. Jacoby, a mash-up of coconut rum, banana liquor and pineapple juice that feels strangely out of place surrounded by all this rusticity. Then again, predictability isn’t one of Lynch’s strong suits anyway.
Have you been to any of these places? Tell us about your experience, below.

About Me :D
Okay! So I was tagged by my good friend @fanfictionwhump and I’m really excited and happy that you want to know more about me! Some answers may be long and I’m sorry... So let’s do this!
Name: Emrys. It’s a Welsh name that means immortal or immoral one. I hated my name until I found the show Merlin.
Nickname: Em, Emmy, Emry, and Stitch (as in Lilo and Stich. My best friend is Lilo)
Gender: I am of the female gender. I’m not a girly-girl though. I’m not a tomboy either. I’m kinda in the middle.
Star Sign: Aquarius. If that’s bad, please don’t judge me! lol. I’m not a bad person; it would just mean my star sign thingy is bad.
Height: Almost 6 foot. I’m not entirely sure.
Sexual Orientation: I could not be more straight. Men suck sometimes but dammit they can be GORGEOUS!!! If you know me at all, you know who my favorite man is. (if not, Sebastian Stan)
Hogwarts House: I’m not a Potterhead so I don’t know...uh...lemme see... *five minutes later* Okay! I took a test on Buzz-feed and it says Gryffindor. This is what it says about me... You have a heart of a lion. You never give up, never back down and give everything 100%. Good things happen to you because you fight for them. You stand up for yourself and for your friends because you believe in what is right. Your energy is magnetic and makes you a natural leader. I’m not even gonna lie this is a really good description of me.
Favorite Color: Black. Nada mentioned her least favorite color and I can’t say I disagree. Ever since I was little, I’ve hated orange! I digress. Black is my absolute favorite color.
Favorite Animal: I’m not sure. I love most animals. At gunpoint, though, my favorite animal is a wolf. I’d say my least favorite animal is a snake. I have ophidiophobia which is the phobia of snakes.
Time Right Now: 3:27 PM
Average Sleep Per Night: It really depends. If I find a new show or really good fanfic, I get about 5 or 6 hours. I’m the kind of person who likes to stay up late and sleep late.
Cat or Dog Person: Dogs!!! The unconditional love that they give you is something I absolutely love! Cats are more of an “Oh. You’re home. Fine.” but dogs are more “HI HI HI HI HI HI HI HI YOU’RE HOME I LOVE YOU HI HI HI” I like that! I had a dog, before, though; and he was my entire world! He, sadly, passed in January of 2016.
Favorite Fictional Characters: Oh gosh! I have a lot! Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, Matthew Murdock, James Cole, James Buchanan (Bucky) Barnes, Killian Jones, Wade Wilson, Steve McGarrett, Castiel, Dean Winchester, Martin Riggs (Lethal Weapon TV show), Stiles Stilinski, Sheldon Cooper, Mike Baxter, Bruce Wayne, Patrick Jane, Shaun Spencer, Jensen (The Losers movie), Danny Rand, Kuzey Tekinoglu, etc. (I can’t think of any more off of the top of my head but BELIEVE ME, there are plenty more.)
Number of Blankets I Sleep With: 3. One really thin one, one medium one, and a really thick thermal blanket. If I get sorta hot, I take off the thick one. If I’m hotter, I take off the medium one and when I’m hotter I turn the fan on. :)
Favorite Singer/Band: Imagine Dragons is number one, hands down! Then theres One Republic, Fall Out Boy, Needtobreathe, Pentatonix... I’m more of a band/group person. (Other than Imagine Dragons, these aren’t in order.)
Dream Trip: San Diego Comic Con! My entire family is a sports-loving family. I hate it with every fiber of my being. (I went to a professional baseball game for my brother’s 18th birthday and had a really bad panic attack from the noise and other things) Not a single member of my family likes the superheroes and sci-fi that I do. So, going to a place full of people who feel about sports like I do and love the things that I do, it would make me feel less alone. That’s why Tumblr’s so good for me. I’ve met a lot of people like me.
Dream Job: Actress. I absolutely love acting. I love movies and television and I’d love to gain fans so I can meet them and talk to them and learn about their countries I go to and make films and TV shows that make them smile. I have heard the stories that fans tell my favorite actors about how they didn’t commit suicide because of their movie or TV show. That would be so precious to me. I would treasure that with my entire heart.
When This Blog Was Created: June 17, 2016
Current Number of Followers: 70!!! So happy.
What Made Me Get Tumblr: I used to spend a lot of time on an app called Pinterest. I spend a lot of time on Instagram. I would see really funny text posts and decided to get one! I had also heard that it was a place that everyone could find a community that they fit in. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t just take people’s word for something. I do research for myself to make sure I agree or disagree with them. I agree with those people. I have always struggled with loving whump and feeling alone in it. Now, I found the amazing whump community. Tumblr can be crazy and fun, and I love that.
