Monday morning once again. How did it come around so quick? I am determined not to doom scroll today. I have been known to when there is a big announcement due. Today’s Outfit of the day is entitled allotmenteer chic! My bright orange jumper may be 4 sizes too big but I love it. And it’s super cosy for autumn. I may be too old to pull off leather look jeggings but I don’t care. I may be carrying a turmeric tea & a basket with eggs from my chucks instead of a handbag but they are a great fashion accessory for allotmenteers. So I guess what I’m trying to say is like a lot of people have this week this is me like it or not. I’m a lot more confident in my own skin and with my clothing choices now I’m 40. They may not be everyone’s cuppa tea but I don’t care. So wear your oversized jumper with pride and remember you are never too old to wear what you want so go to it!! Shorts might have been a little optimistic for today with thunderstorms predicted. It is a little chillier this morning too hence the hoodie for now. Good morning. I’m off to an event today! Well when I say off to an event I mean I’m virtually off to the @blogosphere_magazine creative day. I love me an event and this is as close to an actual event as I think you can get while at home. You can wander around a virtual arena, chat to people like you would at an actual event. (I’ll put some of the day in my stories). Anyway off to an event means getting dressed up with no where to go. Well I’ve stuck on my faithful orange and pink stripe skirt and a white t. I’ve even put in some earrings. It’s not even a video conference. But dressing for work or an event puts me in the right mood for the day ahead. Let’s do this. I’m pretty much wearing the same outfits I wore before lockdown. Getting dressed for the day helps with my mental health. I bought this dress last year when I wanted something other than wearing jeans all the time. I mean pairing it with this very old longline cardy. And my @converse makes it look as comfy as it feels. Late to the grid today. We were late up for taking the kids to forest school so was rushing around. Fridays are usually my favourite day. I get to spend breakfast with @spencersarc.daddy then lunch working in my favourite coffee shop and dinner with our friends. Today though it’s half term which means half our friends are away and at breakfast Chris has to go for his “of a certain age” MOT fasting blood test. Which meant no breakfast for him! Roll on next week when things are back to normal. I feel so much better with a routine. For my “working morning” outfit today I’m wearing my black skinny jeans that I’ve probably worn most of the week (who can be bothered washing when it’s school holidays) a very old @fatface shirt my trust bargain (£10) converse. My staple pleather jacket and my favourite scarf from Desigual. Because I believe a scarf like jewellery really finishes an outfit. I just came across a post by @mikhilamcdaid while I was thinking about how good this top is that’s not only bought from a charity shop but was bought several years ago. I have to say I wore it through my last pregnancy, I wear it as a cover up, as a top over jeans, and with my crops like today (also a charity shop bargain) the top in question is originally a @fatface one. I love fat face the quality is so long lasting. Anyway like Mikhaila I need to reorganise my wardrobe and not head to the usual mum uniform of jeans. I’m never gonna be a size 10 fashion model but I am fed up of my jeans and top mumdrobe combination. I really want to look put together more. I love my clothes that feel like jammers. But just some days when the rare occasion of date night happens or I go for a drink with the girls I’d like to look the best I can. So last week when I nipped into Tesco I came across this skirt. It jumped out at me. I picked it up and took it home. Then I thought s**t what do I wear it with. I searched google for @fandfclothing pink orange skirt. Never did a mug cupboard sum me up more. This cupboard has been a mess for ages. You see I’m a mugaddict. I love a mug me. My favourite by far is the pink and white with silver speckles running through. Followed by the bought pottery one that’s actually not in shot. But all the mugs on the front row of my newly organised mug cupboard sun me up. How each mug represents me! From top left we have ☕️2 tin camper mugs. - for the adventures we go on and the constant obsession with wanting to build our own camper. Also in twos which every thing is this family has to be. ☕️ strong & northern @hendersonsrelish mug- thats me. It’s taken a while to realise how strong I am but now I know. Also my love of the hendos. ☕️ the pottery mug I made that had holes in. - This represents the fact that you don’t have to be perfect which clearly I’m not. ☕️ dear mum mug - obviously I’m mum in this family. It also says I know I’m your favourite. - I have my favourite it just changes by the hour. It really depends on who gives the best cuddles at the time. ☕️ Yoga, tea & naps - Oh in a perfect world this is what I would thrive on. I love how yoga make me feel. Naps are just great aren’t they and well tea. I mean. Say no more right? ☕️ - @brummymummyof2 stripes for life mug - I’m obsessed with a stripe. They are an essential past of my mumdrobe. ☕️ pink with silver specks - this mug filled with tea is like a hug. Ok I’ve been for my swim now off for a pub breakfast with some girly friends. Picture is entitled this is why o don’t do fashion shots. I wear comfy clothes. I love my what I like to call lanzarote trousers. Basically they are a little like hareem pants. As close to jammers as I can find. Some people even say to me why are you wearing your jammers.
