Mr Evershed x daughter!reader - some days
Tumblr media
Hiii darling!! Is it possible to request a Martin Evershed x Daughter!reader in which the reader really struggles with Anxiety/social anxiety? If not if your uncomfortable writing this that's absolutely fine! Thank you for taking your time to read this askk - big love you ❤️ - Anon 💜
Generally your dad dropped you off at school when he was leaving. It didn’t make much sense for you to go earlier since he was heading there anyways.
But there were days when he would find you had already left for school, and he knew they were bad days.
The days when your anxiety was so bad you wanted to walk and clear your head, try to calm yourself down before you had to head to lessons.
He was expecting you to turn up, but when he got an email saying you hadn’t made it into your first lesson he began to worry and pulled out his phone to message you.
Mr Evershed knew texting was easier for you, especially on a bad day, and he would never call you unless it was an emergency or you hadn’t replied within so long.
So went he messaged you he set his unlocked phone down on the table and waited for your reply.
You looked at the message from your dad.
Dad: are you in the school?
You debated lying to him, but you had a good relationship with him and you didn’t want to ruin it.
Sighing, you replied to him.
You: no, I’m not. I’m not feeling well I’m going back home.
You weren’t lying, because after sitting in the cool morning air, you didn’t want to be outside anymore and were walking back to the house.
You were around the corner when your phone chimed again.
Dad: is everything alright?
You: I’m just not feeling well.
Your dad sighed as he read your message.
He wanted to go home and check on you, but he couldn’t just leave work, so he decided to message you every now and then.
You texted him when you were home, so he knew if you weren’t responding to him now you had gone to your quiet corner.
And that’s where he found you when he got in.
Sitting in your quiet corner, soft music playing through the room as you sat in the corner of the room surrounded by blankets and some papers.
Walking over, he sat down next to you, covering his legs with a blanket.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked quietly.
You shook your head.
“Is it just a bad day?”
You paused for a second before you nodded.
Mr Evershed nodded back at you.
“Do you want me to make your favourite hot chocolate?”
You nodded again and he smiled.
Getting up, he went and made two hot chocolate’s and brought them in, sitting down with his, he set yours next to you.
He knew when your anxiety was bad you found it hard to communicate. Closed questions you could respond with a nod or a shake of your head were easier, but sometimes you struggled with them as well.
And he understood that. He respected that.
Sometimes it wasn’t easy to go outside, sometimes it wasn’t easy to do every day things, and sometimes you struggled with the worries of everything washing over you.
So he would sit there with you for as long as you needed just so you were reassured that you weren’t alone.
You rested your head on his arm, and he looked at you.
“You’re alright, come here…”
He gently hugged you, and you hugged him back tightly, trying to hide yourself away.
“You’re okay..”
Some days you didn’t want to be around anybody, including him.
And others, just like today, you needed your dad to hug you and remind you that everything was going to be okay

Mr Evershed x teen!reader - our interests
Tumblr media
Prompt number 20 with mr Evershed x student reader? :) - Anon💜
20: “I can’t read, you know that right?” “You can read, stop lying and help.”
Sitting in the music room, you had your feet kicked up on the chair in front of you, guitar in your hands as you sat playing the tune you had been practicing for a while now.
You had been kicked out of your class, you were supposed to be in resolve, but you had no interest in going to do that.
After all, why would you? The music room was always unlocked first thing in the day anyways, so why not make use of the instruments other students weren’t?
Standing up you walked around your room, a little grin on your face as you emerged yourself into your own world.
The door was opened and you turned around, grinning even more.
“Morning sir.”
“Good morning (Y/N), you were supposed to report to resolve.”
You shrugged a little bit, setting the guitar against the wall.
“It’s a waste of time in there.”
“Then maybe we should reconsider swearing at our teachers.”
You grinned a little bit at him, sitting down on the chair again, kicking your feet up on the chair you had them up on to begin with.
Mr Evershed sighed, propping the door open and made his way over.
“Feet down, let’s go.”
“Nope.”
“This isn’t a debate (Y/N), half the language you used in that argument I can’t even repeat, I don’t even now what some of it means but the point still stands.”
You shrugged a little bit.
“It’s still pointless, you’re going to make me do work I already know how to do.”
“Unfortunately this isn’t up for debate (Y/N), please come with me to resolve.”
You just crossed your arms, looking at him.
You were challenging him, daring him to try and do something to get you to move.
“What if I can promise you that it doesn’t involve doing work you already know how to do?”
You sat up a little bit.
“Depends on what it is.”
“Well, I’ve got a presentation to go through, and since you enjoy being so honest with everybody I thought you could help.”
You grinned from ear to ear.
“I can’t read, you know that right?”
Mr Evershed chuckled a little bit, shaking his head at you as he picked up your bag, swinging it over his shoulder.
“You can read, stop lying and help.”
You laughed a little, getting up to follow him out of the music room.
“What’s it about? Is it a lot of reading because nobody likes that.”
“It’s about Shakespeare, and it’s not a lot of reading you’re just dramatic.”
“Sir you can’t say that it’s not nice.”
He opened the door for you, letting you walk in and sit at one of the tables.
Mr Evershed sat next to you, setting your bag on the ground and he pulled his laptop out of his own bag, setting it on the table so he could set everything up.
“I can, and since you missed the last lesson for English, you can read through the presentation, because this stuff will be on your exam.”
“Come on sir, I know this already.”
“I know, but just humour me please?”
You let out a groan of annoyance, and you titled the laptop towards you, scanning over the first slide.
“That’s wrong.”
“What is?”
“About the characters and symbolism and all that. It’s wrong.”
Mr Evershed smiled a little bit, gesturing to the laptop.
“Go on then, show me.”
You changed the slide, and then you moved to the next one, seeing that it was wrong as well.
You turned to the teacher.
“It’s all wrong isn’t it?”
He chuckled a little bit, setting some paperwork on the table as he began to go through it.
“I know you (Y/N), I know you don’t like to leave things unfinished, or leaving things done wrong when you know the right answer.”
“Touché.”
You took the laptop so you could carry on correcting the work, occasionally going into google so you could do some research.
You were invested in learning, maybe not so much the things you should be learning about, but you were fascinated by facts and history.
Mr Everhsed glanced up half and hour later, and he leant over.
“I don’t think the evolution of birds is going to help.”
“Well I was researching, then I saw something about Darwin, and I had a thought about if it was him who said something about finches and they’re birds and now we’re here.”
He chuckled a little bit.
“Okay, well you can tell me about the evolution of birds after your homework.”
“Ugh fine.”
“Thank you (Y/N).”
You went back to the presentation and paused.
“Homework?”
“Yes, homework. Did you really forget that it’s your own homework?”
“This is mine?”
“Well, not exactly. I know you got somebody else to do it for you. So, now you’re rewriting it.”
You turned to him.
“Lying in a sin.”
“Well, I guess both of us are in trouble then.”
You hummed, nodding your head in agreement before going back to fixing the homework you were supposed to have done last week.
Mr Evershed smiled, turning his attention back to his paperwork.
Not even ten minutes later you were back to researching something else completely unrelated and he pretended not to notice to give you a little more time to do something you enjoyed

Mr Evershed x teen!reader - into reality
Tumblr media
Maybe prompt 38 with mr evershed x teen or foster reader? :) - Anon💜
38: “I never asked for any of this!”
TW: mentions of parental loss, talks about being in a car accident
Sitting in the car, you looked out the door as you watched the rain fall into the puddle just below your feet.
You listened to the sound of it hitting the top of the car, hitting the road, it was cold, but not the kind of cold that made you want to put on a jacket. It was the type of cold that you enjoyed on a hot summer day.
“(Y/N)? Come inside before you get drenched.”
You lifted your head a little bit, looking up at your social worker and he sighed, walking over again.
He held the umbrella over your head as you stood out of the car, and you slammed the door closed, following him to the school.
You walked inside, sitting down on a chair in reception, burying your face into your hoodie as he spoke to the receptionist.
He glanced over at you before he went back to speaking to her for another minute, that’s when he finally decided to walk over, sitting next to you.
“Mr Evershed is in a meeting, he’s going to come out in a few minutes. He’s going to be your foster placement while you’re here, do you remember what I told you?”
You ignored the social worker, turning your attention to the doors, focusing on the rain as it ran down the glass panes.
He sighed softly.
“(Y/N), I know you don’t want to be here, but all I’m asking is that you try. He’s a good man, and I know you’re in good hands.”
You didn’t reply, inside you got up, over to a window and you leant on the windowsill, staring outside.
You heard a few doors open but you didn’t pay them any mind, you ignored the people walking, the hushed conversations.
None of it interested you.
Being there didn’t interest you.
You were stood there for a few minutes until finally someone said your name, and you turned around to look at the two men.
They both smiled, gesturing to the office and you trailed after them both, sitting on the sofa in the back of the room.
They sat on the chairs in front of you.
“Hi (Y/N), I’m Martin Evershed, I’m the headteacher here at Ackley bridge, I’m going to be your fosterer for the time that you’re here.” Mr Evershed said gently.
You looked away from him, resting your head on the back of the sofa.
“I’m sorry, please don’t take it personally. (Y/N) is a good kid, they’re not a trouble maker, and they’re not a flight risk they’re just… they’re not present.”
Mr Evershed turned to the social worker.
“What do you mean?”
He sighed.
“Well, they’re here. They know we’re here, they know where they are and what’s going on but at the same time, they’re not really here. They’re somewhere completely different.”
“Where do they go?”
“Honestly I don’t know, I’ve tried to ask but they’ve never spoken to me. I suppose it makes sense, I’m the person that moves them from pillar to post.”
Mr Evershed nodded his head slightly, turning his attention back to you.
“(Y/N)?” He asked gently.
You looked at him.
“We’re going to get you enrolled for after the half term, is it okay if you stay in my office with me for the day?”
You ignored the question, going back to look at the ceiling.
“Please be patient with them, everybody else decided they’re too much to handle, but they’re really not. They’re suffering, they just need time.”
“I’ve got all the time in the world.”
They spoke quietly among themselves and eventfully your social worker left, bringing your bag through with him, along with a box before he did.
He set them on the floor next to you, and you sat on the floor, opening the box to pull out a photo frame, holding it in your hands.
Mr Evershed noticed this, but he didn’t ask you any questions about it, he just wanted you to get used to the surroundings first.
When it came to lunch he finally made his way over, kneeling down in front of you.
“Are you hungry?”
You never looked up from the photo, and he glanced down, trying to see what it was but you had it turned away from him.
“Let’s go get some lunch, the staff room will be empty.”
You set the photo back in the box, and you stood up, putting your hands in your pockets as you followed him into the hallway.
He had to stop a few times to make sure that you were still there as he led you to the cafeteria, and after grabbing you some chips, he noticed you stopped by any window or door you could.
Eventually you made your way to the staff room and sat down, taking the plate from him.
He walked over to make himself a drink, and he brought you over one as well, setting it down on the table in front of you.
You didn’t finish all your lunch, and you didn’t touch the drink.
Mr Evershed wanted to give you some time, and he hoped maybe as time went on you would open up, but you never did.
As the days turned to weeks and weeks into months, you still didn’t show any signs of wanting to open up to him.
At school you just sat in your own world, and at his you usually kept to the room he had given you, only coming down to eat.
It was the weekend, your social worker came over on Saturdays to see how you were doing and speak to Mr Evershed to see how he was doing with you.
They were in the living room speaking, you coming down the stairs, grabbing your shoes you sat down on the sofa so you could put them on.
“Are you going out?” The social worker asked.
You flicked your gaze up, but never said anything, you just grabbed your phone from the table and left.
“They go out for a few hours every Saturday, I don’t know where they go, but it’s always at the same times.” Mr Evershed said.
He turned to the doorway as the front door was slammed closed.
“I think I know where they’re going.”
Mr Evershed looked at the other man.
“They’ll be going to the cemetery, to sit with their parents. Every foster home that reported them missing that’s where they would be. The same time on the same day every week.”
“What happened to them exactly?”
The social worker sighed.
“Honestly I don’t know the ins and outs, but I know there was some sort of accident involving the (Y/N) family and a lorry. It happened on a weekend, I’m sure you can figure out the time and day.”
Mr Evershed nodded his head.
“Saturday.”
“Their mother was declared dead on the scene, their father was taken to the hospital where he died in surgery, (Y/N) was in a coma while this happened, they woke up two months later.”
Mr Evershed nodded his head again.
“I’m not sure what happened in that time, but it was a few weeks later when eventually I was assigned to their case. I don’t think (Y/N) has ever fully processed what happened that day, and part of me thinks maybe they think this is a dream.”
“Trauma is hard enough for anybody to deal with, but to wake up and find that your family is gone, that’s going to be hard, especially for a teenager.”
The two carried on talking for a little while, and eventually the social worker left, and you came back an hour or so later.
You walked into the living room, setting your phone on the table so you could take your shoes off.
Mr Evershed smiled at you, setting his laptop and the papers he was grading aside.
“Hey, do you want to come pick what you want for dinner?”
You got up and followed him to the kitchen, and he stood by the door while you looked through everything.
You didn’t seem much interested in any of the food you could find, so finally you just pulled some chicken out of the fridge and set it aside.
“Is there anything else you want?”
You pulled out some herbs and spices, setting them down as well, grabbing a few bowls and anything else you could find that you needed.
You stood at the counter as you began mixing some herbs into a bowl.
Mr Evershed walked over, standing next to you as he looked at what you were making.
“Do you want to roll up your sleeves? That way you won’t get anything on them.”
You paused for a moment, looking at your sleeves of the hoodie you were wearing, then you slowly shook your head.
“Alright, you don’t have to. We can wash it straight away if we need to. Can I help?”
You passed him a bowl, setting some peppers in front of him and he got to work cutting them up.
He spoke about the day he had while you both prepared the food.
He didn’t need to, maybe you weren’t even listening, but he thought maybe it would help you grow more comfortable to eventually one day open up to him.
But when you were finished preparing the food, you simply washed your hands and left.
You didn’t often interact with anybody, you didn’t interact with the anybody else at school aside from him when you had to, and your grades weren’t the best.
You were trying, but he could tell you just weren’t interested and he didn’t know how else to get you interested in school, in your grades, in making friends.
Even on the trip the following week you just kept to yourself, sitting on a rock while Mr Hyatt explained something to do with science.
You had a small notebook in your lap, and you were sketching, and that’s what caught Mr Evershed’s eye.
He was telling off two students for messing around by the rocks, and he noticed you sitting there, occasionally looking up, then back to the paper, pulling different coloured pencils from your pocket when you needed them.
He walked over, standing next to the rock you were sat on, glancing down at the work you were doing, and he studied it for a moment.
You were proficient in art clearly, it was almost lifelike, a beautiful yet dark scenery of a forest in the hills, exactly like what you were looking over.
Except instead of students or people, you had just filled the page with trees, even matching the thin layer of fog that came from the upper trees.
“(Y/N)?” He asked quietly.
You looked up at him.
“I know you’re not interested in this, but you need to come stand with the rest of the class, okay? We’re taking a short break soon if you want to go back to your sketch after.” He smiled.
You let out a small sigh, putting the pencil back in your pocket, along with the notebook and you stood up, trailing after him.
They began to walk along the trail, talking about photosynthesis, how clouds were made or something similar you weren’t listening.
You were paying attention to the trees instead, and you watched as the class passed over a quiet road and you stopped.
“Ew look!” A girl yelled.
A bunch of students came running over to see what she was pointing at.
“I bet someone ran over a deer.” One of the boys said.
“Right yes it’s a bit of dried blood, let’s not focus on that.” Mr Hyatt said.
“Look! I bet somebody died here!”
They began pointing to the dented barrier at the side of the road, and yelling among themselves.
You stared at the road, and you slowly walked forward, looking at where the barrier had obviously been replaced.
“Let’s go! Let’s go! We’ve all had a look now!” Mr Evershed called.
You looked past the barrier and you carefully climbed over it, walking down the hill, and you knelt down, rummaging through the leaves.
“What’re they doing sir?”
Mr Evershed turned around, looking to where a few students were looking.
“(Y/N) we need to go, come back up!” Mr Hyatt called.
Mr Evershed walked over, and he looked at you digging through the leaves as if you were looking for something.
He climbed over the barrier and made his way down, crouching next to you.
“We need to go, I need you to come with me.”
You shook your head, still digging through the leaves.
“(Y/N)…” he whispered.
You sniffled a little bit, wiping your tears on the sleeve of your hoodie.
You reached into your hoodie, pulling a chain from around your neck, and you took it off, holding it out to him.
He took it, looking at the single golden band that was on there.
He looked up to the other teacher who was waiting.
“We’ll meet you at the next stop!” He called up.
Mr Hyatt nodded, gathering all the students to carry on with the walk, and Mr Evershed looked to you.
Your fingers were bloodied from digging at the ground, and he reached out, stopping you from digging anymore.
“(Y/N), stop, please. You’re hurting yourself.”
You shook your head and tried to carry on.
“I know it’s hard, and I’m sorry we brought you here, I didn’t know this was where the accident happened.”
You wiped some tears from your face, getting a little bit of dirt on it.
“It’s going to be okay… you’re going to be okay..” he whispered.
You didn’t seem to be listened to him, you just turned to a different spot to begin you search there.
You got up, moving to another tree and he followed you, trying to get you to stop, trying to get you to go back up to the road, but you wouldn’t.
So, he sighed, brushing some of the leaves aside to help you.
If he couldn’t encourage you to stop, he could at least try make the search quicker, he didn’t know exactly what it was he was looking for, but he assumed it was properly the missing matching ring.
You stopped, finally pulling something out of the dirt, and you wiped the mud away with your hoodie, looking on the inside of the ring.
Holding your hand out, you took your chain from him, putting the ring on it and you sat down with your back against the tree.
You just had tears running from your eyes as you clutched the two rings tightly.
Mr Evershed crouched down in front of you.
“I know it might not be the same, but I know your parents would be really proud of you (Y/N), I’m really proud of you as well.” He whispered.
You glanced at him, and you looked away.
Mr Evershed sat next to you, watching as the mist rolled in from the hill above.
“I wish I died that day too…” you whispered.
He turned to you in shock, not only at you speaking to him, but at the comment you made.
“You can’t think like that (Y/N).”
“It’s true… I don’t have anything left…”
You stood up, wiping the dirt from your trousers and he did the same thing, following you back up the hill.
“You have so much left, I know it may not seem like it but you’ve got your whole life ahead of you. Your whole life to live however you want to, to tell your parents story, to keep their memory alive with you.”
You stopped by the trail, and you turned around to look at him, tears falling down your face.
“I don’t want to keep their memory! I don’t want to tell their story! I want my mum and dad! But they’re dead! I can’t have them!” You yelled.
You took a deep breath.
“I didn’t want to watch my dad bleed out calling me and my mums names but I did! I didn’t want to feel all the pain I felt because I had something stuck in my side but I did!”
Tears streamed down your face.
“I never asked for any of this!”
Let out a loud yell, and you crouched down, burying your head into your arms.
Mr Evershed walked over, kneeling in front of you as he placed his hand on your back.
“I didn’t even get to say goodbye..” you whispered.
“I know you didn’t….” He whispered.
Something inside of you had just snapped, for months you refused to acknowledge the accident had even happened, you lived in your own head dreaming a make believe world where everything was fine.
That one day your parents were going to come home.
And now it finally hit you they were really gone, and they weren’t ever going to come home.
You sat on your knees, looking at Mr Evershed.
“I didn’t want them to go…” you sobbed.
“Come here…”
He held his arms out and you hugged him tightly, crying into his shoulder, and he had a few tears of his own in his eyes.
You kept repeating how much you loved them, and how you didn’t ask for them to leave.
“I know… I know (Y/N)…” he whispered.
Finally the world you had hidden behind had broken, and you were in reality where you had to see that you were alone now.
You had no family anymore, it was just you and Mr Evershed who was responsible for taking care of you now and that was it.
“You’re going to be okay… one day you’ll be okay..” he whispered

Mr Evershed x student!reader - what you need
Tumblr media
Hi, how are you? 🫶 I have a request for an EvershedxStudent Reader story. R has lived in the orphanage their whole life. It's anything but great there. However, at school R claims everything is fine. But Mr. Evershed finds out during the school year that R is not feeling well. Prompt List 21: No matter what happens I am here... Maybe you want to write it. Thanks and have a great day. 🥰 - Anon💜
21: No matter what happens I am here...
Sitting on the steps inside the school, you were reading one of the worksheets you had to complete for the following day, tapping your pan against the step.
“School finished half an hour ago (Y/N).”
Glancing up, you smiled a little bit.
“I know sir, I’m just doing some homework.”
“We have a library you can sit in, but unfortunately if you’re not here for an after school club or detention I do have to ask you to leave.” Mr Evershed said.
“Sorry, can I have just a few more minutes so I can finish this?”
He smiled, nodding his head as he sat on the step next to you, watching as you worked.
“You always sit here after school don’t you?” He asked.
“For about an hour so I can do some work yeah.”
“Is there a reason? Is everything alright outside of school?”
He knew of your circumstances, and a lot of the teachers closely monitored you, from your work, to your overall health and appearance to make sure you were okay.
And aside from the fact he wasn’t sure he had ever seen you eat in school before, he was aware that you seemed to take a lot of days off sick.
“Yes sir, it’s just easier to work here so if I need help I can find someone to help me.”
He nodded his head, holding his hand out so you could hand him the work.
“I understand that, if you want we can arrange something for you in the library, so you don’t have to sit in the stairs.”
“No thank you it’s okay, I don’t mind it really, plus when I’m done I can leave straight away.”
“You mean you run off before we notice?”
You laughed sheepishly, nodding your head as you took the paper back from him, stuffing it into your bag.
“That’s all correct, go on now, get out off here, go have fun or whatever it is you lot do after school.”
“See you later sir!”
With that you ran away, and he sighed a little to himself.
He’d noticed the few small holes in your jumper, and the fact that your shoes seemed to be barely hanging in there.
The next day you came in, and you sat on the same step before lessons to go through some of your papers, your stomach rumbling a little.
Mr Evershed walked over, sitting next to you, and he held a cup out for you to take which you did with furrowed brows.
“Do you like hot Chocolate?” He asked.
He picked his own cup up from the steps and held it in his hands.
“I do, but I like milk in it because I can drink it so much faster.”
He chuckled.
“Come on then. But don’t tell anybody.”
You got up and followed him to the staff room, and he handed you the bottle of milk so you could put some into your hot chocolate.
“Do you mind if I ask you a question?” He asked.
“No sir.”
“Do you have any warmer jumpers or jackets you can wear during winter?”
You glanced at him before putting the milk back in the fridge.
Walking over to your cup you picked it up and sat on the floor.
“I do, but one of the younger lot like wearing them because it reminds them they’re not alone, so I let them have mine.”
“So what do you wear in winter?”
“Just my school jumper.”
He sighed a little bit.
“Alright, is there anyone to drop you off and pick you up?”
You shook your head.
“Alright.”
Mr Evershed carried on asking you questions, trying to understand what your situation outside of school was like.
You answered him, but your answers just seemed so strange to him, and when you replied you made it sound like it was totally normal or that it was okay.
Then he began to notice a decline in your attendance and grades again, and he grew worried.
When you were next in, he spend some time trying to find your timetable and found out what lesson you were supposed to be in.
Knocking on the door, he glanced around before turning to your teacher.
“Can I borrow (Y/N)?”
“Of course.”
He looked at you and you gathered your things, making your way over so you could silently follow him to his office.
He got you to sit down and looked at you.
“You’re not in trouble, i just need to know what’s going on with you (Y/N) I’m worried about you.”
You sighed a little, giving a small shrug.
“I’m just not feeling great…”
“Can you explain why?”
You gave him a brief explanation to him, explaining how you just didn’t feel well, and no matter what you did the feeling wouldn’t go away.
You told him about the lack of sleep, and how you had to spend most of your nights looking after some of the younger children at the orphanage.
“Plus my shoes are broke so I have to wear these ones that are too small…”
“Why didn’t you tell us any of this?”
“Nothing you can do…”
Mr Evershed sighed.
“There is, we can offer you help.”
You looked at him.
“We can help you, get you new clothes and shoes if you need it, we can also get you free school meals.”
“It’s okay, that sounds like a lot of work.”
“I’m more than happy to sort it all, okay? You’re not alone, and if you ever need any help all you need to do is ask.”
“Thank you…”
He smiled at you, reaching down he pulled up a bag and handed it to you.
“No matter what happens I am here...” he said softly.
You took the bag and found new shoes and a jacket in there, and you gave him a sad smile as you took it, holding it closely

Mr Evershed x student!reader - different approach
Tumblr media
Could I possibly request a Mr Evershed and Saul Silva X teen!reader with social anxiety. If having both Silva and Evershed isn't possible could you do one or the other? Many thanks - Anon 💜
Mr Evershed knew there would be some students that would be harder to reach out to than others, as a teacher it wasn’t anything that he wasn’t used to.
There would always be students like that, and he had met all sorts of students, including students like you.
He could see that you struggled in school, you seemed to prefer sitting in the back of the classroom away from everybody, so that’s where he put you in his seating plans.
At first he asked you a few questions, but you would always duck your head and avoid it, and he stopped, realising it made you uncomfortable.
He spent a few days trying to figure out how to go about talking to you, and when he was letting everybody go after lesson, he watched as you trudged up to the door last.
“Hi (Y/N), do you mind waiting a moment, you’re not in trouble I just want to ask for your help with something.” He smiled.
You stopped walking, taking a step back and he closed the door, moving away from it.
He watched as you glanced to the door then back to the ground, then you glanced elsewhere.
You were looking for all the ways that you could get out of the situation, your flight or fight response kicking in, and yours was slightly.
“Hey, you’re alright, you don’t have to do that. The door is there and you’re free to leave without any problem. Do you like music (Y/N)?”
You said nothing.
“I’ve seen you constantly with headphones on, music is nice, it’s relaxing.”
You shuffled a little on your feet, crossing your arms over your chest, turning your head towards the ground.
“I just want to ask what helps you the most, makes you feel more comfortable. I know you find it easier in the back of the classroom, and not having me come up to you during the lesson. You don’t like drawing attention to yourself do you?”
This time you shook your head.
“I didn’t think you did, and that’s alright, not everybody is a big fan of being the centre of attention. I’m concerned about what to do if you’re struggling, and I think I’ve found a way around it.”
Mr Evershed picked up your workbook, holding it out to you.
“If you can, I’d like you to put a mark next to tasks or anything else you don’t understand, and a note explaining why if you can’t, then, when I look at your book t the end of the day I can respond by writing down the answer to any questions you have, show you what to do step by step in writing or I can compile a list of websites that can show you. Would that be better for you?”
You carefully reached out, taking the book, putting it in your bag and he smiled a little bit.
“That’s perfect, thank you. Just had it in at the end of tomorrows lesson, you don’t have to bring it back today. Do you want to sit in here during lunch?”
You glanced at the door then nodded your head a little.
“Alright, you stay here, I’ll leave you be, don’t worry nobody will come in while I’m gone.”
With that, he left and you sat down at a table, headphones on as you began to work on your book, making small notes my a few things.
When you were done, you checked the time, and you got up, leaving the book on Mr Evershed’s desk, and you made your way to your next lesson for the fear of being late.
When he came back, he saw your book and smiled a little to himself, sitting down so he could check what you wanted him to explain to you.
It wasn’t much, and you didn’t write much in there, you just made a note next to certain things saying ‘don’t understand’.
But he could work with that, it could still get you the help and support that you needed in your lesson.
And the system worked pretty well, he noticed that you began to do it during lessons as well after a few weeks.
He knew the importance of patience when it came to somebody with social anxiety, it wasn’t easy for you, and although he couldn’t pretend to understand he did want to help.
And no matter how much research it would take, how many different approaches he had to take Mr Evershed wanted to give you the best experience he could at school, and give you a fighting chance at the grades you deserved.
You just needed that time and patience, that little extra care and he was happy to do that

Mr Evershed x student!reader - not just mindless anger
Tumblr media
Heyyy! Is it possible to request a Mr Evershed x student!reader where the reader has really bad anger issues and Evershed is the only person who can sort of figure out why? Thanksssss - Anon💜
Sitting on the chairs outside reception, you balled you hands into fists, jaw clenched as you listened to the two teachers speak.
“You both know we don’t tolerate any kind of violence here.” Mrs Carter said.
“But they started it miss, they hit me!” The other student huffed.
“It doesn’t matter who started it, you shouldn’t have raised your hands back.” Mr Evershed said.
You glared harshly at the floor.
“We have seen the footage, and we know it was some sort of verbal debate gone wrong, and we will be reprimanding (Y/N) for their behaviour, but you will also spend the rest of the day in isolation.”
The other student tried to argue, but soon realised it wasn’t going to change anything and stormed away to isolation.
“We will be calling somebody to come pick you up and you will be suspended for the rest of the week.” Mrs Carter said sternly.
You said nothing as she walked away.
Mr Evershed leant back against the reception desk, setting the radio down.
“Do you want to explain your side of the story? You haven’t said a word this entire time.”
You said nothing.
“(Y/N) this is serious you hit another student. You’re going to be suspended and eventually expelled for this.”
“Because it’s my fault right? Because you’re all just going to believe what one student has to say because I have a reputation?” You snapped.
You glared at Mr Evershed and stood up.
“Because it’s always my fault right?! I’m always going to be the one to blame!”
“Calm down.” He warned.
“Scared I’ll hit you too?” You mocked.
You clenched your fists, and you stared at him.
“I’m not saying this is your fault, but I am saying what I saw, and I saw you hit another student in the face multiple times. Not only that but you broke a door as well as destroyed numerous books.”
“Why the fuck would I waste my time destroying your books?!”
“Watch your language. You were the last person in that classroom and everything was fine when you teacher left.”
“I didn’t fucking do it!”
Turning around, you slammed your fist into the wall with a yell, cracking the wall, splitting your knuckles at the same time.
“Fuck all of you!”
With that you stormed out, throwing the door open as hard as you could, making it bounce back and slam closed with a loud bang.
You jumped over the fence and began to wonder, trying to do anything to calm yourself down.
Mr Evershed sighed, looking at the minor damage you had done to the wall.
You lashed out a few times over the past few months, but he had noticed as time went on you seemed to be lashing out in anger more and more.
He wanted to get to the bottom of it, but everybody he spoke to said the same things, you were just problematic.
You of course stayed away from the school for the duration of the rest of the week, but you didn’t seemed bothered about coming in for your meeting, or the following week.
It wasn’t until nearly two weeks later did you show back up at school, late.
“Well it’s good to see you, can we have a chat?” Mr Evershed asked.
“No.”
You walked away, but you never went to your lessons.
He did want to try and reach out to you, offer you some sort of support and try to figure out what was going on, but you wouldn’t let him.
You kept everybody away, and the anger got worse and worse until eventually you just stopped turning up to school.
He tried to reach out, but was met with no response.
So he did the next thing he could, which was go around to the spots the school had often been informed that you were hanging out at.
And he finally found you in a quiet cafe, head in your arms as a staff member sat opposite you.
“You know running away from your problems won’t solve them.” She said.
“Maybe not, but makes it easier.”
“But getting angry at everything? You can’t keep going on like that, there’s people who want to help you if you just let them. Not everything has to be all or nothing.”
You sighed, sitting up.
Your eyes drifted to the door and Mr Evershed smiled, walking over to you.
“Are you ready to talk now?” He asked.
The woman smiled at you, stepping aside and he sat down.
“You’ve been gone a while, I was worried something had happened to you.”
“Clearly I fine, you can leave now.”
“Hey, be nice.” The woman whispered.
You grumbled a little, slouching down in your chair as you took a sip from your milkshake.
“Are you ready to come back into school?”
You said nothing, instead you pulled your phone out and began to scroll through it.
“I’m trying to help you (Y/N), I really am, but I can’t help you if you’re not willing to work with me and help me help you.”
You stayed quiet.
“I know you’re not an aggressive person, and that you wouldn’t hurt anybody just for the sake of hurting somebody.”
“What do you know? It’s you’re job to teach so shut up.”
“Maybe it is my job to teach, but it’s also part of my job to help and support my students.”
You glanced up from your phone, then went back to looking at it.
“Alright, well how is your hand doing? Did you get it looked at?”
“No, but it doesn’t hurt anymore so.”
You showed him a dodgy looking bandage and he shook his head.
“That won’t help at all, come on, we’ll go get you looked at.”
“No.” You snapped.
He raised his hands.
“How about we book you a doctors appointment instead?”
You slammed your hand into the table.
“I said no!”
“Calm down.” He said softly.
You dropped yourself back into your chair and picked your phone up again.
He was getting to the bottom of your anger issues slowly, he could tell that you didn’t like hospitals or doctors.
“Let me see your hand.”
“Why?”
“So I can fix that bandage up properly.”
You held out your hand so he could unbandage it and look at the dark bruising on your knuckles.
“This looks new.”
You shrugged a bit.
“Punched a wall at my therapists office.”
“Any reason why?”
“Cause he’s an asshole.”
He sighed.
“You can’t go around swearing at people and hitting everything. You were doing so well.”
He tied the bandage together and you took your hand back, looking at him.
“I’ve been getting reports from your therapist and doctors saying you haven’t been taking your medication to manage your emotions.”
“What’s the point in taking them? They make everything feel so numb and pointless…”
Mr Evershed nodded his head.
“Can you explain it to me?”
You began to explain everything to him, about the medication and how it made the world so dull and boring for you.
He carefully listened to what you were saying.
“Does anything trigger the anger?”
“Sometimes it just gets bad again, sometimes my therapist pisses me, sometimes it’s something someone does. I don’t know.”
“What was it this time?”
You glanced at him and said nothing.
“(Y/N)?”
“It was just getting bad again..”
He nodded.
“Well, how about you come back to school, and we’ll see what we can do for you.”
“What’s the point?”
“The point is you still need an education, and i need somebody to join the rugby team.”
“You seriously think that’s smart?”
He smiled.
“Of course I do, it’ll be a good way to get your anger out. It’s that or boxing.”
You thought for a moment.
“Boxing.”
“Come on then.”
He got up, heading to the door and you grabbed your milkshake so you could follow him.
Mr Evershed was slowly getting to understand you, and he was going to figure out how to help you because he had a feeling there was much more to you than just mindless anger

Mr Evershed x Student!reader - the reason behind it all
Tumblr media
Evershed adopting a neglected animal and bringing them in as it got super attached to him. Student Reader is like a bad student (doesn't do homework on time, interrupts class whenever someone picks on her etc.) Turns out she's being neglected at home and Evershed's pet tries to get her attention because it can tell the Reader is like them? Fluffy ending with Reader sleeping with the animal beside her asleep? - Anon💜
TW: neglectful parents
Sitting in the back of your classroom, you rested your head on your arms as you stared out of the window, watching as the rain tricked down, a bright flash of lightening streaking over the sky.
Then a dull rumble of thunder somewhere in the distance threatening to get closer.
“I can’t say I’m surprised to see you here (Y/N), but you Sam?”
You turned your head to looked at the other student sat at the front of the classroom.
“Not doing home working, I’m sorry.”
“Why you apologising for? Shouldn’t be giving work outside school hours anyways.” You said.
Both Sam and Mr Evershed looked at you and you rested your head on your arms again, going back to looking out the window.
“And why are you here this time?” Mr Evershed asked.
“You’re the teacher you tell me.”
“Well, I’m asking you.”
You said nothing and he sighed, setting some a paper down in front of you.
“Right, well, you’re both going to do a short homework task then you can go.”
You rushed your chair away from the desk and stood up, stuffing your hands in your pockets.
“Forget it, not wasting my time with that crap.”
You padded out of the room and down the hallways.
“Hey! Stop walking and let’s talk about this, come on it’s just a small task you’ll be done in a few minutes at most.”
“I’ve better things to do.”
You padded to your locker and you pulled out your jumper.
“At least wait for someone to pick you up, it’s pouring it out there you’ll catch a cold.”
Closing your locker, you pulled your jumper over your head and stuffed your hands in your pocket again as you carried on walking.
“(Y/N)!”
Mr Evershed stopped you again, just before you reached the door.
“Right at least let one of us drop you off then, or call you a taxi.”
“Get fucked.”
With that you walked around him and outside, immediately getting soaked to the bone as you wondered.
You didn’t bother going straight home, you simply just sat in a park for a little while, watching the lightening burst through the clouds, listening to the thunder.
And when it got a bit too close you began to make your way home, and you walked inside, peeling your jumper off.
Trudging through the house, you tossed it on the radiator, and took a pot out of the cupboard, setting it on the floor under the leak.
Heading to your room down the hall, you changed into some dry clothes and put your school clothes around the place in order to dry.
Then you walked into the living room and picked up a letter on the table.
‘Back soon.’
Sighing, you set it back down and sat in the old sofa, looking around the messy house.
You shrugged a little bit and grabbed the tv remote, deciding to find something to watch in order to pass the time a bit.
After a few hours you found yourself getting hungry, so you began to look around the house for something to eat but there was nothing to be found.
With a huff, you sat back down on the sofa and pulled out your phone to pass some time.
The following day you woke up late, and you changed and slowly wondered to school, and you looked around and you kicked the gate.
You stood there for a couple of minutes kicking the gate until Loraine finally came over and opened it for you.
“Sorry love, didn’t hear you down here.”
You shrugged a little bit and yawned.
“Mr Evershed said he’d like a word with you if you came in, so do you mind going by his office?”
“Yeah I guess so, but I’m leaving as soon as that lunch bell goes.”
“Just hear him out.” She smiled.
You got in and you padded over to the office and opened the door and closed it, and you crossed your arms over your chest.
“What?” You snapped.
“Well good morning to you too.” Mr Evershed smiled.
He gestured for you to sit down, and you stood in the middle of the room instead, hands in your pockets as you looked around idly.
“I just want to talk about yesterday, and about you coming in late today.”
“Okay, I left yesterday because I wanted to go home. Late today because I can.”
“And the lack of homework? Getting kicked out of your math and science lessons back to back?”
You chose to ignore him, and instead you turned your attention to the German shepherd next to you cautiously sniffing at your leg.
Mr Evershed stood up and looked at the dog before looking at you.
“Her names Bella, she’s a rescue. Do you want to try pet her?” He asked.
You ignored him and you stepped away from her.
She followed you a little, and you wondered over to the sofa and stood on it.
“Come on man I don’t want to be covered in dog fur.”
Bella sat down, looking at you, and you crossed your arms as you looked at the teacher.
“Don’t stand on my furniture get down.”
“Or what?” You scoffed.
“You can spend the day in resolve.”
You shrugged a little.
“Going there anywhere.”
“You’ve just got in, there’s no chance you’ve already been sent to resolve.” Mr Evershed sighed.
You shrugged a little, looking down at the dog still sat looking up at you.
“Lessons are boring as crap anyways so.”
You jumped down and wondered over to the door and you left the room, brushing some dog fur of your clothes.
You were bored, so you went to the canteen early and slipped some food away, and you sat in resolve eating.
Lunch came and went, and you were taking a nap on one of the tables when you felt someone hit you on the head with something.
“What the fuck..?”
You sat up and looked around, finding Mr Hyatt stood behind you with your work book his in hand.
“No swearing please.” He said.
“That’s abuse that you know, I’ll call police on you mate.”
You took the booked and threw it like a frisbee across the room making him sighed.
“Come on (Y/N), I just want you to come through to my lesson, that’s all.”
“Go to lesson or take a nap? I think amma stay here.”
You rested your head in your arms again, and as you looked at the floor you came face to face with the dog from earlier.
“Oi get your dog under control yeah!?”
You sat up and glared at the headteacher who was talking to Mr Hyatt.
He held a finger up telling you to wait and you picked up the workbook that was sat next to you and tossed it at them.
“Oi! I said get your damn dog outta here asshole!”
Mr Evershed walked over to you.
“Right, that’s it. Enough if the swear and enough of the throwing things.”
“Then get the dog gone mate.”
“I know you aren’t scared of dogs because a few months ago you snuck in a few stray dogs you found.”
You scoffed and rested your head on your arm again, staring down at the dog who stared at you and she whined a little, nudging your leg with her nose.
“Your behaviour is starting to get out of hand, it’s not acceptable (Y/N) and you know this.”
“Don’t care.”
Mr Evershed sighed.
“You should care, this is important. If you need help you just have to ask.”
You sat up and glared.
“Don’t need your hand outs so fuck off.”
“Enough of the language.” He warned.
“Oh so scary.” You mocked.
You kicked your feet on the table and leant back in your chair, resting your arms on your stomach as you stared up at the ceiling.
“I just want to help you, but if you don’t tell me what’s going on I can’t help you.”
You carried on ignoring him and he sighed.
You felt the dog rested her head on your elbow and you looked down at her.
Reaching over, you scratched behind her ear before moving your hand away.
“At least go to lesson, you don’t need to be in here.”
“No.”
“(Y/N), if you keep this behaviour up I’m going to have to suspend you, I’m already trying to get in contact with your parents about your behaviour, do you really want to be suspended as well?”
“Gives me time to sleep.” You shrugged, “and if you manage to get in contact with em tell me cause I’d just love to know where they went.”
Mr Evershed sighed and he got up, both him and Bella leaving the room and not long later you grew bored and left as well.
Every time you were sent to the office, or he came to talk to you while you were in resolve his dog would try and get your attention.
This time you had barely even started your lesson when you were kicked out and sent to the office so you wondered over and walked in, but it was empty.
So you walked over to the sofa and laid down, and you heard the jingle of the tags around Bellas collar.
You turned around head and she wagged her tail a little as your eyes locked with hers.
“Come on then.” You sighed.
You held your hand out and she put her front paws on the sofa, and then she jumped up making your groan a little as she stood on you.
She payed down on you and looked at you, and you placed your hand on her back, gently petting her.
While you waited, you decided to take a nap, and he gently nudged her off and laid on your side and she whined a little bit.
“Oh for god sake fine then.”
You laid back on your back and she jumped back up, happily tail on you, tail wagging lazily.
You closed your eyes and sighed a little bit.
Mr Evershed finished his meeting and he left the room, running a hand down his face.
“What was that about?” Ken asked.
“Child services, someone’s been reporting one of the students parents to them for over a year now for being neglectful.”
Ken nodded his head and looked as the people left.
“They’re coming back tomorrow for a meeting with the student, so now I need to see if they’re still in.”
“Well you’ve got a student sleeping in your office so I suggest you start there and deal with that first.”
“That would be the student I’m looking for.”
Mr Evershed headed back to his office and he walked in, looking around.
He found you laid on the sofa, and his dog fast asleep with you, her head on your shoulder and you hand an arm on her to keep her from falling.
Walking over, he stood in front of you both debating on what to do.
If he woke you both up, or if he left you both there.
At least if you were asleep you couldn’t be getting into any more trouble, so he decided to leave you both and just quietly left his office, going to do another things.
And on his way back, he grabbed some food from the canteen and brought it back in, setting it on his desk for when you woke up again.
Maybe with food as a little peace offering, or a gesture of goodwill you would be willing to talk to him so he could see if the allegations were true or not about your parents.
He heard a noise and he looked up to find Bella looking at him, wagging her tail slightly and he smiled to himself.
“Come on then.” He said.
He held out her hand, but instead she put her head back down and let out a small huff as she went back to sleep

Mr Evershed x student!reader - look out for you
Tumblr media
Can you write something with Mr. Evershed getting sick during a class, please? - Anon💜
Mr Evershed hadn’t been feeling to great when he woke up, but it wasn’t bad enough to warrant him taking the day off.
He thought maybe he could get away with it, maybe it would go away as the day went on but he was wrong.
It only seemed to get worse and worse, but as the last lesson of the day he decided to power through it.
He set some work for everyone to do on their own, and he just sat down at his desk, trying to focus on the computer screen.
You were struggling to complete your task, you couldn’t figure out what you were supposed to be doing, so you simply just picked up your book and walked to the front.
“Sir I don’t get it.”
He let out a small sigh and slowly picked up your book, trying not to move too fast for the fear he would be sick.
“What don’t you understand…?” He asked quietly.
You stuffed your hands into your pockets, shrugging your shoulders a little bit.
“I don’t know, all of it I guess.”
“Did you read through the task?”
“Yeah.”
He sighed and set your book down, grabbing a pen so he could help you with what you had to do.
You watched as he hesitated, his hand shaking and the way he narrowed his eyes as he stared at the paper, bringing a hand to cover his mouth.
“You alright sir?”
“Yes, thank you.”
You hummed a little, looking around the classroom to all the rowdy students who weren’t doing anything.
It wasn’t like Mr Evershed to let them get away with all of this, on their phones, walking about and just messing around.
So you turned your attention back to him.
He was still sat like that, and you decided to do something about it.
“Can I go to the bathroom?”
“Of course…”
You left the room and wondered down the hallways, looking out the windows as you went.
You stopped by your locker to grab the can of your favourite drink from your bag and carried on walking, jumping down the stairs one step at a time.
“Miss!?” You yelled.
“There’s no need to shout I’m here, what’s wrong?”
You turned to the receptionist and leant against the desk.
“Is Mrs Carter in?”
“She is, is she expecting you?”
“Nope.”
You walked around, knocking on the door before waltzing into the office.
“Hello (Y/N), why aren’t you in lesson? And why is that in your hand?”
“Somethings wrong with Mr Evershed, he doesn’t look right.”
“Can you explain how someone looks right?”
“Like he looks really pale, and kinda like his just gonna be sick.”
Mrs Carter got up, and she held out her hand, so you Reluctantly handed her your drink to set on the desk.
She walked in front of you and you took it back before jogging after her.
“Can you tell me anything else about him?”
“I don’t know, don’t seem with it, kinda spaced.”
She walked into the classroom and everybody went quiet, and you stood in the doorway, happily drinking from your drink.
“Right, can all of you go to the library please someone will be there soon.”
The students whispered to themselves but left the classroom, and you walked in to grab your stuff, walked over to Mrs Carter.
“Is he dead?” You asked.
“No he’s not dead, don’t he so morbid (Y/N), he’s sick that’s all, I’ll have to get someone to come get him, but I can’t leave him like this.”
“I’ll stay.”
“I can’t ask you to do that.”
“You’re not asking, and come on, we both I’m not making it to that library.” You snickered.
Mrs Carter laughed a little, shaking her head at you.
“That’s true, you’ll stay here?”
“Promise.”
She nodded and left, and you sat on the chair, looking at the teacher who had fallen asleep at his desk.
Getting up, you grabbed his jacket from the back of the door and put it over him, then went to stuffing whatever you thought belonged into his bag in there.
You had no clue what a teacher would bring to work, so you put everything you could find in there.
Then you set it aside and began wondering the classroom, picking up a few things, tossing them in a random corner.
No one said you were good at cleaning either.
You stacked some chairs to see how high your could get them, rearranged the tables and began drawing on the whiteboard when Mrs Carter came back.
“Really?”
“I also never said I’d behave.” You grinned.
She shook her head at you and gently woke the other teacher, letting him know his wife was coming and he grumbled out something neither of you understood.
“Mrs Carter, does this mean I don’t have detention?”
“Well, since you were kind enough to help me, i think I can let you off.”
You beamed from ear to ear, and did a handstand, walking as far as you could before falling over and you kept doing that while Mrs Carter kept an eye on Mr Evershed.
It didn’t take long for his wife to get there, and she was shown to the classroom to find you doing handstands still and Mrs Carter trying to keep Mr Evershed asked.
“Im sorry to call you in, I just didn’t think it would be a good idea for him to leave alone, (Y/N) came to get me to tell me about his condition.”
“He did mention about feeling a little sick earlier but brushed it off.”
“Have him take a few days, maybe see a doctor.”
“Definitely see a doctor, that ain’t normal.”
“Why are you still here?” Mrs Carter asked.
“I’m bored.”
She sighed, apologising to Mr Evershed’s wife and picked up your bag to take you to your lesson while the other teacher was escorted out.
He took the rest of the week off, and when he was getting ready for the following week, he realised his bag was crammed with everything but what he needed.
“Did someone pack my bag?” He asked.
“One of your students, apparently just shoved everything on your desk in there.”
Mr Evershed thought for a moment but couldn’t remember what lesson he was in when he took a turn for the worse.
He went in on the Monday and was greeted by Mrs Carter who gave him a rundown of everything and what happened.
And as he watched you try to run past and quickly stopped you.
“I heard you were quite the little helper last week.” He said.
“No idea what you mean.”
He chuckled a little, shaking his head a you.
“Thank you (Y/N).”
“I guess I’m glad you’re not dead.”
“(Y/N)!”
You laughed and ran away

Mr Evershed x Student!reader - alone for Christmas
Tumblr media
Number 16 on the winter prompt list with mr evershed x student!reader please :) - Anon💜
16: “Christmas is a time of happiness.” “Not for everybody.”
Looking at the flyer you had been given, you set it on the table and carried on putting your books into your bag.
Standing up, you swung it over your shoulder.
“Don’t forget the flyer (Y/N), you’ll need it so you remember the Christmas party.” Mr Evershed chuckled.
He held the paper out of you, and you shook your head.
“Don’t, I’m not interested.”
“Is everything alright?” He asked.
“I’m late for another class, can I go?”
Mr Evershed sighed, taking the paper back and he nodded his head.
“Yes, of course. But if you do want to talk my door is always open.”
You waved your hand dismissively and left the classroom, leaving the school so you could head to a few after school classes.
It was late by the time you got home, and you rolled up your sleeves, as you began to prepare your dinner.
You hated this time of year with a burning passion, to you there was absolutely nothing special about it.
It was something everybody knew about you, even Mr Evershed, but he didn’t understand it and nobody really bothered to ask you about it.
And it’s what he wanted to do.
For the next week he tried to get you to take part in some of the activities that the school were running, but you always brushed it aside.
Again, he decided to try his luck and getting you involved.
“We’re taking a lesson to craft some decorations for the school, do you want to help?” He asked you.
Glancing up at Mr Evershed, you turned your attention back to your work as the students excitedly left the classroom.
“No thank you, I have other things to do.”
He sighed, sitting on the table next to you.
“You don’t want to take a break just for one lesson? I’m sure it’ll be no bother for you or your grades, and it’s Christmas.”
“That’s not a reason.”
“Come on, it’s a good reason, Christmas is always a good reason.” He smiled.
You sighed, setting to pen down and you looked at your teacher.
“It’s a distraction sir, I have other things to be doing.”
He furrowed his brows a little bit.
“What’s your problem with Christmas (Y/N)? You seem to make it an active point to avoid anything Christmas related.”
“It’s a waste of time and money, you blow money on present for people who’ll keep them for money a month and pretend to like them.”
“Come on, that’s not true, there’s loads to Christmas.”
You rose a brow in question.
“Like what?”
Mr Evershed smiled, and he placed the flyer in front of you again, tapping it a few times before he moved away.
“Christmas is a time of happiness.”
You scoffed a little bit.
“Not for everybody.”
Mr Evershed sighed, and he got up, grabbing a chair he pulled it over and sat next to you.
“Why isn’t it a happy time for you?” He asked quietly.
“Why would it be? It’s the same every year, I’ll wake up, study, cook, then go back to bed at the end of the night like every other day.”
“Do you mind if I ask about family?” He asked.
“Just me.”
“I see..”
He gave you a small smile, and reached into his pocket, pulling out a Christmas card and he gave it to you.
“Everybody has one, u wasn’t sure about giving you yours, but I think you need it.”
You took it, putting it in your bag.
“Thanks I guess?”
He pushed the flyer towards you.
“Just think about it, it could be good for you. And if you do want somebody to spend Christmas with, you can come here, there’s a small event on for people who don’t want to be alone.”
You pushed the flyer away from him and stood up.
“Thanks but I don’t really need your pity.”
With that you left and he sighed.
He thought he had made some progress and maybe he had, but he wasn’t sure if he actually had.
All he could do was hope you turned up to the events he’d mentioned, so that you wouldn’t be alone on Christmas or feel like you had to be alone

Mr Evershed x student!reader - communication
Tumblr media
Hey! I read your recent Evershed x daughter readers about anxiety and they were written beautifully! I was wondering if maybe i could request and evershed student or daughter reader it doesn't matter which, where the reader is mute or only really speaks a few words and evershed tries to get to the bottom of it? Thanks for taking the time🤍 - Anon 💜
Sitting at the back of the classroom, you were busy working on the work you had been given to complete that you didn’t notice the teacher walking around.
“How are you doing (Y/N)?”
You jumped a little, snapping out of your own little world, and you looked up.
Seeing Mr Evershed you smiled at him, moving your hands away from your book so he could take a look.
He crouched next to your table, and he turned your book towards him so he could read through your work, and he nodded his head, mumbling to himself as he read what you were writing.
“This is good, have you read this book before?”
You gave a small nod.
“I can tell, this is great stuff, is there anything you need help with?”
This time you shook your head.
Smiling, he turned the book back towards you.
“I didn’t think there was, great work.”
He got up and carried on making his rounds.
He was used to you now, he knew you didn’t talk.
He had never heard you talk, and from what he could gather nobody had, so he, much like all your other teachers learned that in order to get through to you they needed to ask closed questions.
Questions you could easily respond to without actually having to speak or write too much down for.
It made it easier for you, and it made it easier for him to figure out what you needed, if you in fact needed help or not.
Though he was still curious about your lack of verbal communication.
Sometimes he did see if he could try catch you out, but you always knew and never verbally responded to him.
So when you approached his desk at the end of the lesson with a bit of paper in hand he decided to just outright ask you.
“Can I ask you something?”
You nodded.
“You don’t have to answer, but you never talk. Is there a reason for this? Is it anything we can help with?”
You stared r him and he smiled slightly.
“Sorry, is there a reason?”
You nodded.
“Is it anything we can help with?”
This time you shook your head, and you smiled a little at him.
“Alright, that’s alright. Thank you. Do you want me to write these down in an email for you?”
You nodded again, waving as you left the classroom.
He hadn’t really solved his curiosity, but he did have a little bit more in an insight.
He had spent time researching why people wouldn’t talk, but he wasn’t sure which one would match your situation.
You had confirmed there was a reason, but not if you could actually speak or not.
He wondered if it was something he could help with, since you had a mandatory speaking exam at the end of the year and he wasn’t sure you could get out of it.
So after the following lesson, he asked you to stay behind and you sat patiently.
“I want you to understand you’re not in any kind of trouble, alright?”
You nodded.
“You understand there is a speaking exam at the end of the year?”
You nodded again.
“Unfortunately there isn’t a way we’re able to get you out of it. The exam board won’t be willing to consider making you exempt without a reason.” He explained.
You sighed, looking down at the table.
“I’ve tried everything I can think off.”
You nodded your head and looked up at him, then you grabbed some paper and a pen from your bag.
‘Is there anything I can do?’
“Well, you either have to sit the exam, or you have to tell them exactly why you can’t.”
You nodded a small bit.
You didn’t know what to do.
You hadn’t spoken in school. Or to anyone for that matter.
So you couldn’t exactly sit an exam for speaking.
But you hadn’t told anybody why either, and you didn’t know if you could tell some strangers why.
You felt conflicted about what to do, and you looked at Mr Evershed who offered you a reassuring smile.
You knew you could trust him, so you debated on if you could trust him to help you on this too, and maybe for the first time you could let somebody know the truth about your lack of verbal communication

Mr Evershed x teen!reader - daily antics
Tumblr media
Please write prompt 22 Christmas music in November. Mr Evershed x teen reader where R plays Christmas music over the PA, announcment system, I think it would be funny Thanks. - @witchreporter 💜
22: “It’s November, stop.” “Let the Christmas music commence!”
Creeping around the reception, you grinned a little as you saw it empty.
You would’ve thought that they would’ve at least had somebody covering the desk at this point, it was a shock they hadn’t thought of that.
Making your way over to the desk, you went to the computer to see that it wasn’t locked, so you began to go through it, trying to find the schedules.
Once you had you knew you could achieve your plan without outright being caught you made your way to the next destination.
The office in which held the single bit of equipment that you needed.
Grabbing your phone, you went to YouTube and tried to find the perfect song before holding down the button.
“Hello Ackley bridge, let’s get ready for Christmas!”
You hit play on the video, letting it down on the desk playing as loudly as possible befit sitting in the chair, kicking your feet up.
You grinned a little as you waited for the door to open again, and you were only waiting for minutes before it flew open.
“Seriously?! Again? How did you get in here?!”
You grinned.
“Christmas music sir! Come on! Get in the festive spirit!”
Mr Everhsed turned the PA off, and he paused the music on your phone.
“It’s November, stop.”
You grinned, slowly reaching to your phone.
“Let the Christmas music commence!”
With that you played it again, grabbing your phone so the headteacher wasn’t able to stop you from blasting it in the room.
You walked around the desk and he gave you a warning look.
“(Y/N) (L/N) we’ve been through this everyday since November started.”
“It’s Christmas!”
He shook his head at you.
“It’s November!”
You grinned and he chuckled.
“You know this means another detention, right?”
“Yeah but it’s worth it.”
You sat down in a chair and Mr Evershed sat down in his.
“Seriously, how do you keep doing this?”
“You guys aren’t exactly max security sir it’s well easy, at least make it a challenge.”
“I’m not encouraging this.”
“Come on, admit it. You find this funny, everybody does!”
He smiled a little but didn’t say anything because he knew you were right, everybody loved your little daily antics, and you weren’t really hurting anybody.
So what was the harm of letting it carry on for a little longer, if you wanted to break in and play Christmas music then that was fine by him

Mr Evershed x student!reader - the closest to family
Tumblr media
Hej me again. I have another request. Can you write a Evershed x Student Reader with prompt List 2024 number 27? Thank you again! Have a nice day. ☺️ - @marieamardill 💜
27: “I need a parent or guardian to sign this.” “I’m neither.” “You’re close enough, sign it.”
Looking at the letter in your hands, you looked back up at your teacher.
“Seriously?”
“I’m sorry, but we need written consent by somebody to say you can come on the trip.”
You held up the letter.
“Who the hell am I gonna get to sign it? Let me just consult the spirits of my dead parents and see if they’ll let me go on a trip.”
“(Y/N), I legally can’t let you come without the consent form, I’m sorry.” She sighed.
“Didn’t want to go on the shit trip anyway..”
You shoved the letter into your bag and you stormed out of the classroom furious.
Walking down the hallways, you barged past a few students, and you made your way to the office and threw the door open as you walked in.
“(Y/N), as energetic as ever I see. Have you had your lunch?” Mr Evershed asked.
“Not hungry.”
He looked up from his computer and he sighed softly.
“What’s wrong?”
You shrugged a little and you buried your nose into the fabric of your jumper.
“There’s a trip I want to go on..”
“Well, why don’t you? I think it would be a nice break for you anyway, there’s no reason for you not to be able to go.”
You looked at him.
“Really?”
“Well, yes, of course. You should go.”
You nodded, digging through your bag to pull the letter out and you handed it over to him.
“I need a parent or guardian to sign this.”
Reaching over, Mr Evershed took the letter giving you a sightly confused look.
“I’m neither.”
You shrugged slightly, grinning a little at him.
“You’re close enough, sign it.”
Mr Evershed looked at you, and he chuckled a little bit, grabbing a pen, signing the paper.
He held it out and when you went to take it he pulled it back making you huff a little bit.
“This doesn’t mean you get a free pass at of everything, do you understand?”
You quickly nodded your head and he handed it over to you this time.
You grinned a little and put it back in your bag.
“So, I’m really the closest thing to a guardian?”
“Well yeah, you convinced the school board and social to let me stay here, even though they don’t know I’m living on my own. You still look after me, that’s basically a guardian right?”
“Yes, thought I would still appreciate it if you found a responsible adult you could live with, a family friend or something of the sort.”
You shook your head.
“Nah, plus it’s just for another year anyway, until I can leave and get a job.”
“No college?”
“Nah, I don’t have time for that. Plus if I get a job I can buy things.”
Mr Evershed rose an eyebrow at you.
“Do you need money to buy things?”
“I have money, I can buy some things?”
“What are you living off exactly?”
Digging through your pocket, you pulled out your phone and took the back of your phone case out, putting a £20 note on the desk.
“This.”
“A week?”
“Every two weeks, but it work you know? If I don’t buy all that much, and get the cheaper stuff.”
“This isn’t enough (Y/N).”
“It’s fine sir, really, I got it all figured out.”
Mr Evershed sighed heavily, and you put your money back in your phone case and put your phone away.
Reaching under his desk, Mr Evershed pulled out a plastic bag and stood up, placing it at your feet and sat down down, going on his computer again.
You looked at the bag and opened it, looking inside to see some food, mostly canned or dry foods you could store for a long time.
“What’s this?” You asked.
“I know you feel embarrassed about going to food banks for help, so I did some shopping, this is stuff that’ll last longer, every month I’ll get you a couple of bags.”
“Why?”
“Because you need to eat, and it’ll take some stress of your shoulders.”
You smiled a little and looked at the headteacher.
“Thanks sir..”
He smiled back at you.
“If you need any more, or want something different just let me know. But you can’t tell anybody (Y/N), because if you do I’ll have to stop, and they’ll most likely put you in care.”
“I won’t, I promise. You’re the best! I’ll come get it after school!”
With that you grinned brightly and jumped up, running out of the office making him laugh slightly and shake his head.
He knew you weren’t a bad kid, you were just trying you best and you were doing great, you just need an extra helping hand here and there

Mr Evershed x Autistic!student!reader - it’s alright
Tumblr media
I was wondering if you could do a Mr Evershed x student reader where they are autistic and he finds them overwhelmed and they begin to have a meltdown due to overstimulation and begins to hit themselves or something as I tend to do this a lot when I’m overstimulated - Anon 💜
Mr Evershed was doing some work in his office when he heard the voices on the radio talking.
He couldn’t make out much, but he managed to understand a students walking out of lesson, yelled and hitting things.
He got up and grabbed the radio, jogging down the hallways, and that’s where he found you, backed up against some lockers, hitting your head against them as you hugged yourself, your hand hitting your upper arm.
“(Y/N)? Hey there…” he said gently.
One of the other teachers went to step forward and he stopped them, holding his hand up.
“It’s alright, I’ve got this. Thanks.”
They seemed unsure about leaving but did, and he carefully walked around you, standing in front of you as he leant back against the wall.
“Alright, it’s okay. It’s just us, alright? Everyone else is gone.”
You shook head head, resting it on the lockers, but you kept hitting your arm.
“Alright, you remember what we do when we feel like this?”
You didn’t say anything.
“We sit down, can you do that? Can you sit down for me?”
You shook your head and slammed your head into the lockers, and you started to walking away and he quickly followed you.
“(Y/N), hey, don’t come on, we’ll go to the office, alright?”
You kicked the door open, and he put his hand on the door to stop it from bouncing back into you, and you stood in the stairwell, pacing back and forth.
“Alright, come in, let’s go to the office. We’ll have a seat and we’ll just take some time.”
You walked down the stairs and made your way to the bottom and you looked around, looking at everything and nothing all at the same time.
“Come on, it’s alright, I’m not angry at you, alright?”
You shook your head and started to pace again and he walked over, setting his blazer and the radio on the reception table.
“Can I get an ice pack and the medical box?” He asked softly.
“Yes, yes of course.”
Loraine quickly rushed away and he walked back over to you.
“Alright (Y/N), alright, it’s okay. You’re okay. I just need you to give me your hands.”
You shook your head again.
You were breathing heavily, and you couldn’t stop moving.
“I need your hand, alright? I need you to stop hitting yourself, I don’t want you to get hurt.”
He walked a little closer and held out his hands.
“I know you don’t want to keep hitting yourself, so just put your hands in mine, alright?”
You stopped pacing and reached your hand out, placing them on his, lightly hitting his hands but he didn’t say anything about it.
It didn’t hurt him, and he knew you couldn’t control it.
“That’s it, thank you. What’s going on? You were going so well this morning.” He spoke softly.
You shook your head head again.
Mr Evershed realised what was going it, it wasn’t you shaking your head saying no, or refusing to listen, it was you trying to shake your head so you wouldn’t have to listen.
You did it when it was loud, you would shake your head every so often, like you were trying to shake out all the noise.
“Alright, okay, come here.”
He reached up, covering your ears with his hands as you stopped shaking your head.
You slowly sank down to your knees and he copied you, letting you sit on the floor while he covered your ears, blocking out all the noise the best he could.
He moved his hands slightly.
“Close your eyes.” He said.
You did as he said and he want back to covered your ears.
You balled your hands into fights, hitting them against his arms and he looked at your hands.
He used it as a chance to asses what had gone on, and what he needed to do going forward, your hands were a bit red, and you had some small cuts along one of your hands from hitting the lockers.
He then looked back at you, rocking back and forth slowly on the floor.
“Here you go Martin.”
Loraine gently placed the ice pack and the first aid box on the floor next to him.
“Can we turn the bell off for the day? Just send an email out to all the teachers.”
“Of course.”
She went to email everyone about the absence of the bell and Mr Evershed turned his attention back to you.
You stopped hitting your hands against him, settling for tapping your knees now instead and he knew that was a good sign.
He pulled his hands away.
“Can I have a look at your head?” He asked.
You nodded, keeping your eyes closed and he looked at your head, using the light on his phone to make sure you hadn’t hurt yourself too back.
He picked up the ice pack and waited a moment.
“Alright, this is going to be cold.”
He carefully pressed it against your head, and took your uninjured hand, pressing it to the ice pack and he shuffled back around in front of you.
He opened the medical box and pulled some stuff out.
“Alright, I’m going to clean your hand now.”
You opened your eyes to watch him carefully clean the wound, stopping when you pulled your hand away.
“Okay, that’s okay. We’ll give it a minute.”
He waited patiently and waited for you to give him your hand back before he carried on.
“There we go, that’s better, can I put this bandage around it? Just for an hour and we’ll take it off.”
You looked at it and he held it out to you.
“It’s soft, see.”
He placed it in your hand, letting you feel it deciding if you wanted it or not and you finally gave it back.
“Can I put it on?”
You just held your hand out and he took that as a yes and carefully wrapped it around your hand.
Once he was done, he looked at your head before pointed to your arm and you took your blazer off, letting him roll your shirt sleeve up.
“Here, put the ice pack here for a few minutes.”
You did as he said and he sat in front of you with a soft smile.
“You’re alright, it’s alright, we’ll just sit here until you’re ready. Okay?”
You gave a small nod and started to look around and he smiled at you, occasionally checking your head or your arm so see how they were doing and if he needed to seek more assistance.
He knew it was hard for you some days, some days you were all day, sometimes you would be doing great and things would go downhill but he was always prepared to help you

Mr Evershed x student!reader - live your youth
Tumblr media
Hi would you write number 66 on the 2024 prompts with Mr evershed x student!reader? - @rogerssssssss💜
66: “Why do you insist on breaking all the rules?”
Running through the hallways, you wore a large grin on your face, gripping a doorframe so you could swing yourself around the corner before running down the next one.
“(Y/N)!” Mrs Carp yelled.
She was some distance behind you, unable to keep up, and you knew somewhere else there was another teacher trying to find you.
You ran straight towards the fire exit, pushing the bar to open the door, making your way outside.
You slowly your run into a jog, and you looked at the trophy that you had managed to take and grinned even more.
You spent ages trying to find the perfect place to put it, but you found it, and you placed it there, just in view of anybody who walked past and smirked at your handy work.
Hearing your name being shouted, you turned around, backing up a few steps before spinning around, nearly crashing into Mrs Carter and Mr Evershed.
“Nice to see you’re still in spirit.” Mrs Carter sighed.
“Never out of spirit miss, just thought I’d add some new decorations to the school.”
You side stepped around her and carried on walking backwards.
“Gotta run, but I’ll catch you tomorrow!”
Mrs Carter sighed.
“My office!”
“I’ll be there tomorrow! Got places to be and all of that!”
Mr Evershed did try to catch you, but he failed, and you were gone from sight before he could even say anything about it.
You behaviour never changed, you were always up to something, finding some way to break the rules, trying to break as many in one day.
You spent a lot of time in resolve or detention, and Mr Evershed there was sure that since he started working there that there wasn’t a whole week combined where you weren’t on report.
As he listened to the chatter on the radio, he sighed heavily as he walked into the canteen.
“(Y/N) that’s enough!” He snapped out.
You looked at him from the table you were stood on, and you tossed a bag of crisps at him.
“You seem hungry.”
“I’m not hungry, I’m cross because everyday there seems to be something new with you, let’s go, my office.”
You smirked a little, jumping on a different table.
“Or what?”
“Or you can find yourself suspended.”
“Oo scary, suspension, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing outside of school, that’s not going to stop much.”
He pointed to the door, and you gave a small bow to the students who laughed and clapped, and you jumped down, heading towards the door.
Hands in your pockets, you hummed happily to yourself, making your way to the office and stood behind a chair.
Mr Evershed sat down, placing a file on the table.
“You have the biggest folder here compared to any other student, yours is bigger than most of the students combined.”
“Impressive.”
“No, it’s not. It’s disruptive and honestly it’s concerning to see how relaxed you are about ruining your own education.”
You shrugged a bit, sitting down in the chair.
“Did you know that most of the students in this school don’t eat lunch.”
He blinked a little confused.
“What does that have to do with your behaviour?”
“Well, everybody is entitled to food, yet you’re here charging them for it, and if they can’t afford it they can’t it. So what if I’m handing food about, I paid for it, I don’t need it.”
“You were stood on a table throwing it.”
“I threw it at you, I nicely handed it to other people. I just happened to enjoy standing on things.”
He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I’ve had enough of your behaviour, at this rate you’re going to find yourself stuck, not going very far in life and you’ll be wondering why you wasted so many years being childish.”
“My mother said you should speak with anger, you should try that sometime.”
“(Y/N)!” He snapped.
You looked at him, smiling a little and he sighed.
“Do you think this is funny? Do you think it’s going to be funny when I call your parents? When you get suspended or expelled?”
“I think it’ll be hilarious.” You grinned.
Taking a deep breath, he got up, walking around to sit on the edge of the desk as he looked at you.
“Your lack of concern for your own future worry’s me, your behaviour worry’s me.”
“I’m just a nuisance, I’m not hurting anybody. Plus if you must know sir, I have some decent grades.”
“And you’ll think this behaviour will be tolerated in a work place?”
You half shrugged, leaning back in your chair as you looked up at him.
“Probably not, but I’ll grow up by then.”
“Why do you insist on breaking all the rules?”
You grinned a little.
“We’re kids sir, kids should be having fun, living life in their youth before we have to grow up and be boring, shoving us into little rooms, forcing us to take work outside of home, which by the way most jobs won’t make you do, it takes out time to be kids away from us.”
Mr Evershed furrowed his brows a little.
“People grow up too fast, I don’t want to look back later in life and see I didn’t do anything fun.”
“So, this is your way of trying to solve that?”
“Some rules are made to be broken.”
He shook his head.
“They’re made to be followed (Y/N).”
“If everybody followed the rules, I think that would be a boring world, we’d all be the same, there’d be no difference between me, you and the next person.”
He crossed his arms, raising a brow in question.
“What exactly is the difference between us here?”
“You’ve lived by the rules your whole life, I break them, you tell me. Who seems happier here?”
You grinned at him, and tried to look unimpressed but all he did was chuckle a little, shaking his head.
“All of this is just so you can live in your youth?”
“Maybe I’ll be embarrassed when I’m an adult looking back, but right now, I’m having the time of my life.”
“And that’s unfortunately going to land you in detention.”
You shrugged a little.
“Might as well go all in right?”
You stood up, and you walking over to his desk, flicking through your folder as he tried to take it back from you.
You ducked under his arm, read it aloud.
“Seriously? We’ve just talked about this.”
You ducked again, stepped around the table and you grinned from ear to ear, holding it up.
“Being the same as everyone is boring.”
With that, you tossed the file aside and jumped around the table as he went to get it and you were out of the room laughing loudly.
Yes, he was furious with you, but it did make him relieved to know that you weren’t just acting out for a serious reason.
You were just doing what kids did best, you were doing what any other teenager probably would’ve bern doing if the school rules weren’t in place.
It didn’t mean he wasn’t going to give you detention, of course he would, but it meant he knew that you meant no harm on anybody, which made things just a little better.
But of course you couldn’t go the afternoon without causing trouble, and he sighed as he heard your name over the radio and got up.
Maybe one day you could get through just a single day without trouble, today definitely wasn’t that day
