Idk if you’re into omega verse but omg I just thought of it being applied to Yujiro and poor omega reader goddamn 😭 (I think I may have gone a little bit too far on this one ngl, also I’m half asleep so sorry for any issues..)

Nasty nasty Alpha Yujiro who takes advantage of poor little you. Who would have thought he’d ever encounter such a rare beauty? Omegas were practically extinct in the baki universe, the world full of hardened alphas made no room for the sweet soft omegas. And yet here you were against all odds.

You must have read my mind anon, I was just musing the other day on how I want to some day take a stab at writing an ABO fic and the Bakiverse would be perfect fodder for it. 😌

But God... Yujiro would be the worst fucking Alpha. That man could track you down from miles away, knowing where you are at all times should he need you. And he has such intricate knowledge on basically every aspect of you and your life that it goes beyond concerning, it's downright invasive. It takes no time at all for him to claim fuck you, giving you no time to really sus him out or get to know him before you've become irrevocably his. He's now your bonded partner, and you are not at all thrilled with that.

When yujiro comes to claim you he attacks you with such a bestial, feral intensity that you are afraid one day your body won't be able to take the abuse he inflicts on it, giving you serious concerns over whether you will survive the mating process. You got lucky the first time, but what about in the future? How many pups does he plan to pump inside of you? The thought keeps you up at night. You don't even want to parent his offspring, let alone be demoted to his breeding stock to be fucked full again and again and again. You would have chosen ANY alpha other than Yujiro, but now this was your lot in life-forced to not only be his mate, but bear his children, creating new versions of this monster to roam the planet. Would they grow up to be like their father, or would you have any hope of raising them to be decent, loving people?

Also, I feel like your body will just constantly be marked up everywhere. His mating bites don't stop at the scent glands, and you usually end up looking like you just left a 12 round boxing match on the losing side instead of a mating session with your alpha. :(

And when you are in heat its the absolute fucking worst. Lusting after Yurjiro, your entire body aching for him to desecrate and destroy you, your insides burning white hot for his touch. Only your alpha can cure you of this all consuming sickness that plagues you, and you turn into a whiny blubbery mess when Yujiro is around, pleading and begging for him to claim you. It's absolutely dreadful how much you yearn for such a barbaric man, and each and every time you are disgusted with how easily you give in to him. What would he think of the whole situation, particularly because he is of a *very* different temperament than his son? Would he develop some sort of feelings for (reader)? If by some miracle act Yuichiro was able to obtain a corporeal form and once more walk amongst the living, he would be very intrigued by how far his lineage had come and what the Hanma’s were able to accomplish. Being the start of it all, he had a vague idea of how things most likely have progressed. There is no doubt that his unruly son has grown massively strong, and he’s sure that strength has caused countless problems for people near and far.

He was aware that Yujiro had children at this point, taking quite an interest himself in Baki and Jack’s development. Children weren’t always guaranteed to take after their parents, so it was always a delight when at least one of your offspring was able to carry on the family line with the strength and power you and your ancestors worked so tirelessly to cultivate. When Yuichiro found out that of all the children Yujiro had fathered, not just one, but two showed such immense potential? He was as pleased as he was proud, even more so to discover Baki and Jack lacked the level of belligerent arrogance that made their father an unbearably volatile presence to be around.

While he was taking note of his family line he happened upon a surprising outlier- you. He was at first puzzled by the fact that the Ogre, with all his rampant testosterone, was even able to produce a daughter. When he dug a little deeper and realized you were adopted into the family, while that in and of itself made sense, it left him with even more questions. Why would someone like Yujiro go out of his way to adopt someone else’s child, let alone a female, when he barely cared about the children he himself had brought into this world? Based on the limited knowledge he had of you, you didn’t have any kind of superior strength or secret, hidden abilities that may have spurred his son to take you under his wing. So how exactly did you become awarded with the name of Hanma?

The mystery became too intriguing to ignore, thus he sought you out.

The moment he saw you, he instantly began to understand your appeal. He kept his distance at first, not wanting to overwhelm you with his presence as he made his initial observations. From what he could gather, you were a thoughtful girl, kind and affable to your friends and strangers alike. He noted that you seemed a little jumpy, on edge in scenarios you should feel more at ease, and he worried that maybe he wasn’t concealing himself enough and you were catching on to his surveillance. You may not have Hanma blood in your veins, but you’ve been around them enough to recognize the specific aura they exude. He would need to be more careful, maybe conducting his research on you was best done through other means.

Hence, he decided to look into your relationships with his son and grandsons, hoping to get a better picture of who you were as a person and unravel the secret of how you became intertwined in their lives.

However, what he ended up finding out was not anything he ever expected.

As soon as he learned the horrific truth of how his family had handled you, the revolting nature in which not just his son, but his grandchildren, showed their ‘affection’ for you, he was at a loss for words. Yuichiro was beyond disgusted by their actions, particularly due to the fact that their aggressions were against an innocent woman who had no means of defending herself against the brutes that were incessantly at her heels.

Your jittery nature made complete sense now. You weren’t constantly on edge because you were a naturally excitable person- you were on edge as a defense mechanism. You had to be cautious around everyone for your own self-preservation, frightened that you may unwittingly be subjugating yourself and the people around you to extreme danger by being in a public space. The man who was supposed to be your father figure had assaulted you, hurting and scarring you in irreparable ways. The brothers that you loved and looked to for protection ended up having the same perversions as the man who had created them, betraying your trust in their attempts to force themselves upon you.

Disgusted wasn’t a strong enough word for what he had felt upon learning these revelations. His disappointment in his kin was immeasurable.

When he finally introduces himself to you, it’s apprehension that greets him in return. He can see the fear reflected in your eyes as you were faced with the instant realization of his strength the absolute power he held over not just you, but anyone who may step to him. Yuichiro was a complete stranger to you, in fact you probably hadn’t even seen a picture of him to make any sort of connection. But he could tell that within moments of making your acquaintance, you understood who he was. He was a Hanma, and therefore, he was a threat.

Seeing you cower before him, your whole body vibrating in a state of alarm, eyes darting around the vicinity as you tried to map an escape route should this meeting go south… it broke his heart. It wasn’t that he was immune to your charms, Yuichiro could definitely see the appeal of wanting to be close to you in an intimate manner, but to take you by force? To treat you so horribly, handle you so violently? It took all his power not to make his rage over the injustices you had faced show on his features, lest he frighten you further.

It took a while for you to warm up to him, but the relationship that blossomed was well worth the effort. You were a lovely person all around, beautiful in every sense of the word. The more he got to know you, the more he saw your true personality shine through, and the longer he spent with you, the more his affection for you grew.

Yuichiro had made his decision. You would be safe with him-completely and undeniably cared for under his watchful eye. He would be the father Yujiro never could be, the protector your brothers failed to be. He would become your family, a true family, and insure that you will never have to spend another day living in fear ever again.

In short, Yuichiro’s arrival would probably be the ONLY thing that would ultimately protect you from Yujiro and the rest of the Hanma family. This is great for you because he’s a man of his word, the moment you come under his care Yujiro’s entire existence is like a distant nightmare, and that is something you are exceedingly grateful for. However, you feel the absence of Jack and Baki much more profoundly, as you considered them to be your true family and still love them very deeply. Even though you know ultimately this arrangement is for the best, and you feel much safer and happier in Yuichiro’s care than you have ever felt with anyone else in your life, you still find yourself missing Jack and Baki greatly. Even with their betrayal shattering the last of your innocence, causing you deep and lasting scars, life without them still hurt, and you don’t think you’ll ever heal enough to ignore the pain.

… All this being said, it wouldn’t be on brand for me to answer this without fucking it up a little bit, right?

After some time living with Yuichiro, growing dependent on him for basic care and protection, his fondness for you begins to manifest in ways that are… shocking, even to Yuichiro himself.

Maybe it was the long absence of a lover that began to steer his desires, or perhaps it was the sweet and selfless nature in which you offered your love to him? Who knew it would warm his heart so much to see you standing in the kitchen, sweet little apron tied around your waist as you hummed a little tune, hard at work preparing a new recipe you had picked out specifically to please him? All the little things you did without a second thought made is body and soul ache for you.

You were always cute, but when exactly did you become so irresistible to him?

It caught him off guard to feel a flutter in his stomach when he saw your smile or heard your laugh. At his age he figured he was far past feelings like this, especially with someone so much younger than himself, especially with you.

He didn’t expect the blush that dusted your cheeks when he entered the bath you were currently occupying to excite him as much as it did. He took great pride in the control he had over his body, keeping his emotions and desire in check was one of his strong suits. But seeing you there, bare and bashful, trying desperately to cover yourself while your eyes refused to linger on any part of his exposed body for too long… you were definitely testing his limits here, sweetheart.

Did you know how effortlessly beautiful you were? Did you realize just how tantalizing even the most innocent of your actions were? Would it upset you if he told you how pretty he found your body, as his eyes drank in every inch of skin you were working so hard to hide? Would it scare you if he helped you to understand just how much sway you had over not just his heart, but all of his wants and desires?

He had chided and scorned his family for their mistreatment of you, the sick, twisted feelings they pummeled you with not only threatened your existence, but were also a stain on the illustrious Hanma name. Yuichiro wanted nothing more than your happiness and your security, both were things he took great honor in providing to you, and he found his own joy in knowing you felt contentment with him after so much suffering. But he was starting to get an itch that was growing harder and harder to scratch. An itch he felt his kin was all too familiar with.

Maybe he’s not so different from his son and grandsons after all?

Sooo First of all I love how you write and I have been binge reading yujiro stepfather serie(?) And absolutely love it; but stepdad yujirou + Baki and jack the yandere/siscon stepbrothers could you imagine like:

*Katsumi became her eternal friend but feels like he can't be with y/n, so ends up as her loyal/platonic companion or ends up as a teacher and friend and go on with life because yujirou is hell of strong and Sadie to pummel him again

*yujirou marries s/o and impregnate her, but y/n gives love to the child because she doesn't want him/her to suffer like her brothers

*yujirou wanted to rill up his son's and knowing their dark yandere side put the scenario on so the two end up taking her as well

*Baki and jack won't left her until she at least have s baby of each because hanma bloodline and a sense of twisted family

*and what would happen if pickle also gets interested? How would he reacts with y/n pregnant or with kids and with the scent of the hanma's? Would he tried to kill the kids like the lion in a new pride? Or just add them to the family and put his seed too? And the hanma's what would they do?

If the two Hanma brothers didn’t have any kind of breeding kink before, seeing their sweet little sister heavy with child is about to change that REAL quick.

Don’t get them wrong, it makes their blood boil to witness you carrying some other man’s child, let alone Yujiro’s spawn. Seeing you grow each day, swelling with the ogre’s unborn infant, is enough to make them go damn near feral. The whole situation unleashes a torrent of emotions -rage, disgust, pity, vexation, and sympathy, all swirling together within the two of them, vying for dominance. They don’t know whether they wanted to give this kid the world (it was your child after all, and it wasn’t that they weren’t sympathetic to its situation, they probably knew the tribulations and hardships that baby was to face more so than anyone else) or completely disregard it (they just couldn’t shake where it came from, what brutality was committed against you to conceive it).

On one hand, how dare Yujiro force himself inside of you, planting a seed that will bind you to him irrevocably? It was maddening knowing you were trapped by Yujiro’s side, saddled down caring for his offspring. The ogre had you right where he wanted you now, stuck between a rock and a hard place, trapped just beyond the brothers reach.

But on the other hand, two can play at that game.

It was easy enough to convince you to come to them. You loved Baki and Jack. You respected them and you trusted them, you had no reason not to come to them willingly. You were always so eager to see them, so grateful for their companionship. The day they entrapped you, you approached the brothers with arms spread, heart bared, and eyes sparkling as you walked blindly into their trap.

The last thing they wanted was to hurt you, that was never their intention. But you just looked so beautiful when you were pregnant, full and round and glowing, like an angel had landed on earth. They were craving seeing you that way again, adamant that they would be the ones who would fill you with their seed, and you would be the one who would help them create a new life.

And you were such a good mother, doting on your baby with love and affection despite the circumstances of how they were conceived. Didn’t Jack and Baki deserve that too? Why did their monster of a father get the only honor? They certainly treated you better than he did, loved you far more than he ever could or would. And they would never treat their children the way the ogre had treated them growing up, disregarded, abused, or as petty amusements their whole lives. Yujiro was such a terror that the brothers tried to keep themselves from growing overly attached to the baby he had created with you, not only due to the mixed emotions they felt about the situation, but because they knew the likelihood of having an infant survive growing up around the Ogre was optimistic at best.

However Baki and Jack were not their father. Maybe they had to resort to underhanded methods to get to you, sinking down to Yujiro’s level to get you pregnant with their children, but the difference between themselves and that monster would always be the overwhelming affection they held for you. Even if you had trouble understanding what was going on, or couldn’t quite wrap your head around the fact that everything they did for you was for your own benefit and safety, they knew that the lives they were forging for you was what would ultimately make you the happiest and bring you the most joy, you just needed time to get used to it first to realize that. Seeing you waddle around fat with their baby’s is both brothers ultimate dream, and they will destroy anyone who tries to steal that from them, whether that be their father or otherwise. And unlike their father, any life they bring into this world with you will be cherished-the baby will essentially be half you, after all, how could they not adore it?

They know you will cry and feel betrayed and possibly even get a bit hurt should you try to deny them. But no matter what happens, they know you will forgive them because when it comes down to it, you love them just as much as they love you. They are ready and willing to give you all the time in the world to adjust, you are worth any amount of effort to keep happy.

(Also poor Katsumi, but I am glad he gets to be a homie at least lol. The eternal suffering that poor man receives through our prose…)

Now for our caveman situation…

Pickle knows there is something different about you, something that draws a family as strong as the Hanma’s to you. There’s a reason why they are all vying for your attention, eager to procreate with you, and your beguiling presence is not lost on him either. Should his interest become strong enough he’ll definitely snatch you away to create a brood of his own with you. He would become EXTREMELY overprotective of you while you were pregnant, monitoring you like a hawk to make sure you are comfortable and that there are no predators a foot to cause you any harm. When you are full of his children, he treats you more gently than you thought a beast like him possibly could. Were this a situation you were actually compliant in, you would almost call it charming how gently he handles you, or how quietly he tries to lumber his large body around you so as not to disturb you.

As for the other children you had previously… I feel like that is very dependent on the situation. He would not outright kill them by any means. Right now they are small, helpless, they don’t pose a threat to him and you care for them, he has no reason to take them from you nor does he really want to. Also, they have Hanma blood running through their veins and that intrigues him. What manner of person will they grow up to be, he wonders? The thought of watching such people grow, even have a hand in raising them or training them, was too interesting of a prospect to throw out the door.

THAT BEING SAID, his children with you will always take precedence over them. Should you find yourselves in a situation that requires him to choose who he needs to protect, you will always come first, followed by the children he sired with you, anyone else is nonconsequential. Though he has no true ill will towards the children, he certainly doesn’t harbor the love for them that he does his own offspring. He cares for the Hanma kids well enough, but base interest is about as far as it goes. If they starve, get hurt, or have to get sacrificed, so be it.

And Yujiro def still has that ashtray. For WHATEVER reason, even though it’s a shitty little trinket that was crudely made by the hands of your child self, he can’t seem to part from it. He even travels with it and uses it regularly. Weird, huh? I wonder why…

sorry if this is weird but I just found out Baki is only 5’6” and now I’m obsessed with the idea of Baki having a s/o who’s like way taller than him and it’s so funny to me because even if their a fighter Baki can still easily destroy them but at the same time they have to bend down to look him in the eye and could probably pick him up bridal style x3 x3

I honestly love how much of a lil big guy Baki is. He's so compact and cute yet also some how the size of a refrigerator. And I ADORE size difference couples (even when the difference isn't that much loool).

I think that Baki would find the height difference a mix of humorous, obnoxious, and sexy. He may find it annoying when you rest your arm on top of his head to catch your breath, but it is hilarious when he can duck into small places you have to hunch and crawl around in, lest you suffer a bruised head. It urks him when you call him pipsqueak or shorty, but he gets to laugh his ass off when you get a taste of your own medicine as he retorts with a casual 'Goliath' when addressing you. The grumpy expressions you make are always the most satisfying. >:)

Though he wont lie that when he gets you all worked up and you are staring down at him with smoldering, hazy eyes, the moment thick with anticipation as you tower slightly above him moments before some true passion is about to unfold... He lives for it. Nothing makes him hotter than you enveloping him in your love. <3 Kabedon the shit outta this man. (¬‿¬)

...Just be mindful that every ounce of teasing you give him about the height difference he gives back to you ten fold, and he's not above strong arming you to remind you who the true big guy is. ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)

I'm curious. Given some of the men are overprotective as hell, how would they respond when reader practices dangerous things like they're a high diver or biathlon (skiing shotgun) or any other dangerous sports

Here is my humble two cents on the matter:

They’re ALL for it! They think it’s cool as hell and even want to look into taking up the same hobby/sport (if they don’t already participate in it) so they can enjoy it with you! How neat is it that their S/O can do such an intense thing??? Just another aspect of you they get to brag about to all their friends. (Also, you look hot as hell doing it, so that’s a total plus too).

-Baki, Katsumi, Jack, Koushou, Pickle, Musashi.

Has their reservations, but trusts you and knows you will be careful. They want you to have fun and enjoy yourself so they try not to let their worries overtake them. You have made it this long without any serious injury, right? You are seasoned and capable, so it will all be fine and they will support you in your death defying activities… but if you hurt yourself even ONCE it’s over and you are never touching said activity again, do you understand???

-Baki, Doppo, Retsu, Shibukawa, Katsumi, Hanayama, Pickle.

They haaaaaaaaaaaate it. It keeps them up at night. They toss and turn and worry and fret over you out there doing this stupid, dangerous thing. Why can’t you have a tame hobby like bird watching or something??? Doesn’t that seem nice? Please reconsider this. If you don’t they will NOT shut up about it and will send you countless articles and links about the dangers of said activity, or clips about people who got seriously injured doing the same thing. They refuse to be worried and scared alone and if they goad you enough you will stop, right?

-Doppo, Retsu, Biscuit, Motobe, Kureha.

They just will straight up not let you do it anymore. Sorry, but they love you too much for you to fuck yourself up with some dumbass hobby. If you won’t listen to reason they will physically restrain you, separating you from this dangerous nonsense by force if you so much as think of attempting it again. They will be keeping a vigilant watch on you (even if you don’t think they are) so don’t get any funny ideas.

-Yujiro, Shibukawa, Hanayama, Biscuit, Jack, Motobe, Kureha, Katou, Doyle.

It pisses them off because they know they will be better at it than you could ever be and they will immediately pick up the hobby/sport to prove this so that they can shove it in your face. You aren’t special babe, stop pretending you are cool for participating in thing thing that was so easy for them to learn. Amateur. Also they hope their overwhelming skill dissuades you so much that you’ll stop doing it and then they can stop secretly freaking out over you potentially dying :)

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

I feel like Katsumi would be all about making your relationship seem as normal as possible, even though it’s anything but. So he shows his love for you in all the classic ways, like holding your hand when you go out together, or surprising you with small gifts and flowers whenever he comes home. He love to cradle you and kiss you any chance he gets, trying his best not to let it get to him when you try and squirm your way out of his grip, or make a face when his lips collide with your cheek.

To any outsider you look like a normal happy couple, and he likes it that way. It gives him a sense of normalcy, makes it easier to convince himself his ardent feelings for you are pure and natural. His strong desire to keep you by his side at all times, never letting you out of his sight or away from your home without his company, are to be expected-it’s what any good boyfriend would do. If he weren’t there to watch over you who knows what could become of defenseless, sweet, naive you? Really, it's lucky you have such a devoted and protective lover.

Katsumi is a perpetually lovesick puppy around you. The intensity of his affections never wavers, making you feel like a cornered mouse. His overwhelming presence is unbearable, but you are too scared of what he might do if you try and escape or deny him to actually attempt leaving. You sometimes wonder if the people around you can pick up on it, if strangers can tell how constraining his grip is by the grimace on your face, or know how suffocating his company is by how you try and pull away from him. Could anyone ever know just how uncomfortable his seemingly well intentioned little tokens of affection make you feel? It’s as if he is using them as means to keep you indebted to him instead of as a gift directly from his heart, and in a way you know that they are. Katsumi knows you, knows what a sweetheart and people pleaser you are, so he also knows you wouldn’t dream of turning your nose to a heartfelt gift from a man who loves you, right? Of course not, so just keep taking them with that pretty smile on your face, all he asks for in return is your unwavering gratitude (and well, maybe a kiss too).

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

He is definitely not above forcing you to do things against your will, but he really prefers not to. Despite how misguided it is, he truly does love you, and his dream in life is for you to reciprocate that love just as naturally. As such, he hates having to force you to do things because it reminds him that you are with him against your will, that you don’t harbor the same all-encompassing feelings that he has for you. He wants your relationship to be seamless, and he dreams of making the happy façade the outside world sees your reality. He’ll do whatever he can to placate you when you get upset, but he has his limits. If you spend too much time being standoffish or avoiding him he will eventually snap, smothering you and forcing you to give him attention whether you want to or not.

He’ll beat himself up after these moments of weakness, especially if he takes it too far and ends up hurting you during the tryst. He makes sure to give you space afterwards, he already knows you harbor contempt for him and fears that pushing you too far too often will only make those feelings grow, which is not his intention.

Other than the occasional uncontrollable moment of heated passion, I only feel like he would force you to do something if it was for your own health. If you stopped caring for yourself, or were ever in a position where you may cause yourself harm, he would not hesitate to force you to eat or take your meds, physically overpower you if he ever caught you trying to hurt yourself to get you to stop. Otherwise, he stays in his lane and hopes that all his lovey-dovey desires for the future come to fruition, and that someday soon you are struck by cupid’s arrow. Then you can both have a good laugh over how stubborn you used to be, the ridiculousness of it all nothing but a comedic side note of the past. :)

I love being asked questions like this, so thank you for asking it back to me! I did answer it a little when I reblogged Momo's response, but I have had more time to think about it at this point.

Realistically I do not really know how many of the characters would honestly be interested in me. ^^; I am pretty weak and introverted and prefer staying in my house most of the time instead or venturing out in the world. And to be honest... I am kind of a weeny and I think a lot of the Baki men would intimidate my ass so much I wouldn't have the courage to approach them, let alone speak to them or form a bond. (ヾ;￣▽￣)ヾ It's the anxiety. (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

BUT... I feel like Biscuit and I would be pretty good friends, because even though I am a homebody I do love to go out and kick it with buds, and he actually kind of reminds me of one of my close friends IRL so I think we would get on just fine. I also feel like when Baki, Retsu and Katsumi aren't in fight mode they would be pretty chill and nice people to hang with too, so I think we could/would be homies. I would equally want to be friends with all of them also (imagine the connections you would have being Biscuit's bff? I would be like bestie we need to go on a cool fun vacation together stat, fuck prison, lets gooooo), and maybe Jack, though I don't know how much Jack and I actually have in common? It would be cool to have Jack as a friend though because like... Look at him. No one would ever fuck with you again lol.

As for any of them being interested in me romantically... Maybe Biscuit? Or Sukune? They both seem/are good romantic partners who I think/know would really care for their S/O's and treat them well. I like being domestic with my S/O's and going on stupid little cutesy dates and I feel like they would appreciate that loool. Also, not to sound like a princess but it's very nice to be pampered and doted on and I think they would both be more than happy to do that for their lover. 😌

Now in my own little head-verse I would want all of them Katsumi and Retsu to want me carnally and romantically. I love them and they are so handsome and cool and strong and ugh... A girl can dream. If I could be the object of either of their affections should I magically get transferred into the Bakiverse that would be A-OK with me. (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

I hope I’m not the only one here on your blog just for the Tokyo revengers content because I never watched Baki should i thought??

I have been very Baki focused as of late, huh? ^^; You are def not the only TokRev fan though, I assure you! My first really sizable chunk of followers came from my Taiju fic, and though I have been slacking a bit on posting anything TokRev related, I promise you much more is planned/being written currentl. A large chunk of bigger fics I am working on are actually mostly TokRev, I just wanted a lil break and so I focused on smaller stuff for a bit, and pretty much all of that happened to be Baki.

Now, as for if you should watch Baki…

Short answer: Yes! :D

Thoughtful answer: I think Baki is a very interesting take on the fighting genre, and I do highly recommend it. The saga of the Hanma family is as engrossing as it is entertaining, and there is a colorful cast of characters that support the series that you can’t help but love, hate, or love to hate. I have been kind of waiting for a Baki renaissance for a while now-I feel like other than in Japan, it really isn’t a super popular series and that’s a bit of a shame because it truly is an entertaining watch/read. The Netflix adaptation I think has helped the series a lot (and we are all grateful for it, to see our lovely boys animated so beautifully :)) and put it on the map for newer audiences to enjoy, but I definitely recommend the manga too. It’s a pretty fast read because a large chunk of it is action, but it’s pretty cool to see how Itagaki’s art has changed over the years and also how he has grown and changed as a story teller. Earlier Baki is much different than newer Baki, and some of the characters feel a bit foreign when you go back and reread some of the earlier stuff after being immersed in the newer content.

Baki also has some very bizarre and downright comical aspects as well that kind of put it on par with JJBA while making it very charming. The mangaka def adds some quirky flairs to his story telling, which while sometimes I can get a little annoyed/bored/confused with them, I feel like overall they make the experience of watching/reading the series its own unique and fun experience.

And if you love delinquents, Kaoru Hanayama is like… one of the best and coolest delinquents. If you put that man in Toman he would be running the whole gang within days and 90% of the bullshit everyone had to go through in Tokrev probs would have been resolved fairly quickly, if it even happened at all. This man would grind Kisaki to paste in the blink of an eye and I would pay to see it happen. :)

THAT ALL BEING SAID: Not everyone likes Baki, and that’s fine too. I know personally a lot of people are turned off by the art/how the characters look and honestly… That’s valid lol. I remember I once showed my friend a picture of Biscuit and her direct response was “Why does he look like he’s made out of balloons, like a clown constructed him?” LOOOL and often times if my friends mention weird body proportions in comics/manga someone inevitable asks when I am gonna chime in with a Baki manga panel. ^^; Most of the rest of my friends don’t really have any desire to partake in it though, and a few that have just really weren’t in to it. It’s very heavy on fighting and martial arts, and though the fighting is rather fantastical in a lot of cases, it (usually) doesn’t have supernatural elements or magic involved. So if that seems kind of bleh to you, you may want to avoid it.

Horny answer: Incredibly sexy men who are at least half naked a large majority of the time beating the shit out of each other is very fun, nice, and fulfilling to watch. :)

So I say give it a try if you are interested at all. At the very least, some of the fics on here may make a little more sense.
