One week of pottery was great, and now final coats on this painting. It's been a lot of learning last week in throwing 3 lb balls of clay. This has surprisingly come along quicker in process than I thought. At least the first coat has. I enjoy the light blue versus the pure white as it helps to tie together the piece and really unify it. I think about the contrast with the open sense of space on the right and the closed sense of space on the left as well as the variations in the thick mark making on the right versus the glazing on the left. I see some areas were more contrast needs to happen, but that'll happen later. This weekend, pottery! Please enjoy and share my work.
