As I watch more and more YouTube videos of artists throwing on the wheel, 3 lb doesn't seem like a whole lot, when I see stacks and stacks and stacks of 25 lb Plus made into these phenomenal vases. Anyways, here's three pounds! At some point I want to get better at throwing larger, and this isn't huge by any means, but probably one of the biggest amounts of clay I've thrown at once. This has surprisingly come along quicker in process than I thought. At least the first coat has. I enjoy the light blue versus the pure white as it helps to tie together the piece and really unify it. I think about the contrast with the open sense of space on the right and the closed sense of space on the left as well as the variations in the thick mark making on the right versus the glazing on the left.
