5 Reasons Why Mobile Bartending Adds Flair to Your Event
In the fast-moving event planning industry, it is very important to be different and make experiences that people will remember. To make your event better and give an impression that stays with guests, using mobile bartending services can help a lot. Mobile bartenders provide a mix of ease, innovative service, and expert behaviour that can enhance any event. We will explore five persuasive arguments for why you should consider mobile bartending an essential addition to your upcoming gathering.
Tumblr media
Convenience Redefined
The big advantage of mobile bartending is how convenient it is. If you have a business meeting in Singapore or a wedding at a beautiful place, using mobile bartending means there's no trouble with making a regular bar area. With mobile bars and experienced bartenders available, you are able to concentrate on different parts of organising the event while your guests receive excellent service. Corporate catering in Singapore has now become simpler as these travelling bartenders deliver the bar atmosphere right to your location, making things more efficient and pleasing for attendees.
Tailored Cocktails for Every Occasion
Mobile bar service is more than just serving drinks; it involves creating special cocktails that match the theme and mood of your event. For events like business mixers or wedding parties, skilled mobile bartenders can design a drink selection tailored to what you desire and need. Mobile bartenders, with their skill in mixology, turn the bar into a central feature of your event and make guests happy by preparing expert drinks. They offer special cocktails that reflect your brand and also have non-alcoholic choices for those who prefer them; there are many options available.
Interactive Entertainment
The times when bars did not move and guests just stood in line for drinks have passed. Now, mobile bartending brings fun and engagement to your event by making the bar a lively centre of action. Professional bartenders are good at making drinks and also know how to charm guests with their entertaining skills. They can do tricks while mixing drinks or involve people in making cocktails together, which keeps everyone amused and involved during the party. This helps create a fun environment and gives guests special moments to remember.
Flexibility and Versatility
If you are organising a wedding party, mobile bartending brings great adaptability and many options. Portable bars for weddings can be placed anywhere, like in outside gardens or inside places, and the bartenders adjust to the special characteristics of your event area. The menu also has this adaptability, with mobile bartenders who can meet specific dietary needs and likes, making sure all guests feel taken care of. It doesn't matter if it's a formal business gathering needing fancy drink choices or a wedding party with various people to please; mobile bartending services are well-equipped to handle the situation smoothly.
Professionalism and Reliability
Mobile bartending definitely adds a high standard of professionalism and dependability, improving your event's overall impression. From the first meeting until the last drink is served, professional mobile bartenders focus on being thorough and precise to make sure everything runs smoothly from beginning to end. Mobile bartenders have a lot of experience in the service industry, so they are very good at making drinks and also know how to organise things and change plans quickly when needed. They can work well with other service providers and make changes based on new demands, which makes them very important for making your event go smoothly.
Conclusion
To finish, mobile bartending truly changes the experience at events. It doesn't matter if it's for business gatherings in Singapore or movable bars at wedding parties. Because of its great ease, customised drinks, engaging activities, adaptability, and skilled service, mobile bartending brings a special touch and elegance to all kinds of celebrations. Hence, now you can enhance your event with the special appeal and skill of a regular bar without any hindrance. Raise a glass to memorable moments and allow mobile bartenders to bring another level of excitement to your gathering.

4 Cocktail Tips That You Can Use For Bartending
It isn’t hard to make a great cocktail if you know the perfect recipe. Just like food, a cocktail doesn’t have an element that requires you to be a specialist. The type of complex cocktails we see at bars are easy to make at home. But if you are thinking to serve them to your guests, you will certainly need to hire bartender Los Angeles. But before we get into that, here are some tips that can help you create the best cocktails: Read the full cocktail recipe You should always invest some time in researching the cocktail recipe before getting into the details. This way you can eliminate surprises while making a drink. There are some ingredients that you need to prepare in advance before making the cocktail. Other ingredients are readily available in the market. Know your measurements Try to align your measurement according to the recipe. Most cocktail recipes use shot measurement. Usually each shot measures about 30ml. But it is a good practice to research the exact measurement before you start planning. If you can’t find the exact measurement, make the shot to the amount you like and stick to those measurements for the evening. Have good quality ice You should have high-quality ice with you if you want to serve a great cocktail. Managing your ice is a quality that will be incredibly beneficial for bartending. You should rely on good quality ice that is dry and hard. The ice container should always be accessible with a water drain tray to drain the melted water. Try to pack ice cubes together so that they don’t melt down easily. Always use fresh juices There is no simple substitute for fresh fruit. You cannot replace fresh fruit with a packaged paste from the market. You can use a hand juicer to get maximum juice out and avoid fruit pulp getting into your glass. If you are going to host a party soon, you can take our suggestion to hire bartender for party Los Angeles. About Barspirit: Barsprit is a Los Angeles-based business that you can book for mobile bartending service Los Angeles. One of the greatest bartending services in the city is offered by Barspirit, a well-known and long-standing bartending and service company. Numerous venues and well-known businesses have benefited from their expert bartending services. Numerous honors, such as the Lux Global Wedding Award have been bestowed upon them (2021). The Billionaires secret
“Hi there. Find what what you were looking for?” I ask in my customary upbeat yet soul-dead customer service voice.
“I think so. Going to give this one a try.” She says handing me a copy of a book called The Billionaire’s Secret from the romance section. I can see why she picked it, on the cover a man in a suit lay on a bed with the buttons of his dress shirt undone showing off his impressive six-pack and strong hairless chest. Brownish red eyes smolder seductively outwards from a masculine face. High cheekbones, soft lips, and a wide square jaw adorned with black stubble that connects to a short-styled head of black hair.
Tumblr media
“I’m Bridget by the way,” she says, obviously a bit embarrassed to see me eying up the cover. “Oh, and this is Dan.” She says gesturing at the man standing a few paces away, engrossed by some mobile game on his phone.
“Nice to meet you, Bridget.” I scan the book. “That will be $17,” I say.
She glances over at Dan, he doesn't seem to notice so she retrieves her credit card from her purse and taps it against the machine. “I don’t know why I expected him to offer.” She tells me in a conspiratorial whisper “He’s broke. I mean not that it matters to me, but it would just be nice to date a wealthy man or one who at least pays attention to me.”
Tumblr media
Customers often confided in me. I wish I could say it is because of my open honest face or charismatic demeanor but it probably had more to do with a book I once ate about a bartender people told all their secrets to.
I look around. There are a few consumers browsing the book shelves and my manager is sitting at his desk in the back, no one close enough to notice. Bridget seems sweet, too sweet to be with a man like Dan. Poor girl just wants to escape with some fiction, so why not indulge her a little.
“Did you get a chance to check out our books on sale?” I ask Bridget diverting her attention away. She looks over at the shelf I pointed at giving me enough time to crack my knuckles, take a deep breath, and begin.
I place my hands over the cover of the book and it springs open, the pages start to turn themselves slow at first then speed up. Words start to flow from the book as the pages flip past. The letters lift from the page like a sticker being peeled, floating into the air to spin around me. They form a cyclone of black ink as the pages that flip by are left blank.
I feel the lines as they flow off the paper. The first line reads. “Kustav tower is 400 stories tall, rumor has it, it’s smaller than Dane Kustav’s dick.”
I directed the words towards Bridget’s boyfriend. The ink splashes into him, absorbing into his gray hoodie but leaving no mark. None except for the fact that his basketball shorts start to thrash like a wild animal is trapped inside. Dan didn't look up from his phone even as his dick doubled and then tripled in size to match the one described in the book Billionaires Secrets.
I tried to be sparing with my abilities. Fiction is great so long as it stays fiction, otherwise you have evil robots or sparkly vampires running around. Still, every once in a while my heroic urges will take over and I am called to help someone with my power to bring words to life. Bridget is one of those people.
More words flowed off the page. “Dane Kustav is well dressed at all times. One would be hard-pressed to ever see Dane not in a suit. If one did see him without a suit, it would be in the bedroom where they would be very, very hard pressed indeed.”
The words spin around me once then drift over to Dan again on an invisible wind. This time his clothes were affected by the words. His grey hoodie which he wore with the hood up, melted off his body, the threads unwinding then rebinding themselves into a far higher quality dress shirt and black jacket complete with a blue tie. His shorts became black dress pants and his sneakers a pair of brown loafers. The outline of his much larger dick was clear in his new tighter pants. A few seconds passed with no changes then, slowly his tie undid itself and each of the buttons on his dress shirt opened so that he was sporting a matching look to that of the man on the cover of the book. Unlike the cover, however, Dan lacked the chiseled face or body to pull off the open shirt. His slight gut and saggy, hairy chest made the outfit look awkward rather than sexy.
Bridget looked up from the sale rack and glanced at her half-nude boyfriend with a chagrined glance. In her mind, he was always dressed in the finest clothes even if he still acted like a man-child.
“Dane Kustav towered over everyone be that in stature or in business.”
I directed the words into him. Dan shot upwards, his modest 5’10” frame becoming a proud 6’3”, clothes growing to match. And though it wasn’t visible Dan’s head was also filled with business smarts he had lacked before. The game on his phone shifted from Fruit Ninja to Hey Day.
The pages continue to flip, their words leaving the page to float in the air under my command.
“Dane Kustav's muscles were like that of a brass statue, smooth, hard, and golden. Each curve could only have been sculpted by the hands of an artist for nature could never make anybody so perfect.”
I look over at Dan’s soft pudgy body. Not the words I would use to describe him, at least not yet. I float the sentence to him.
Instantly Dan’s belly flattens. One by one his abs pop into being as if pushed out from the inside like one of those pop-it toys. His man boobs visibly transmute from fat to muscle, perking up and then growing into a strong chest like that of the man on the cover of the book. Inside the sleeves of his dress shirt, his arms thicken into a pair of round vascular biceps while his legs below do the same. A tan, like oil spreading over water seeps across his body until his exposed muscles really looked like sculpture bronze turned to life. The few hairs that had looked sloppy before now lent his body a rugged masculinity.
Bridget looks at her boyfriend with a new lust. Her hands start to roam his abs and chest but Dan, still on his phone, only bats them away.
Man-child indeed, a man in the body, a child in the face and the personality. I divert my attention back to the flipping pages looking for words I could use to fix that. The book is reaching the end, and the main character, assistant to the billionaire, has finally seduced her boss in a very steamy scene. High-class writing it is not, but at least it gives me plenty to work with.
“I ran my hand down his sharp square jaw.”
I throw the words at him. The shape of his face shifts to be more masculine.
“He looked at me through squinted sexy amber eyes.”
His eyes shift from a pale blue to an amber so rich it almost looked red. He finally looks up from his phone and deep into Bridget's eyes. She returns the stare with a smile.
“He brought my hand up to his cheek, I felt each bristle of his short sharp stubble.”
Dan moves Bridget's fingers up to his face which is now covered in a sexy two days' worth of growth.
“Then he kissed me with his soft sensual lips hard enough to make me weak in the knees.”
The words flow off the page and into him. His lips grow pillowy and pink and interlocked with Bridget’s. He wraps his muscular arms around her, keeping her steady as she collapses into him.
“I warp my fingers into his jet-black quaffed hair as I prepare for him to take me.”
His hair gains a stylish cut and is dark as pitch, body hair and stubble do the same. Bridget greedily runs her hand through his new dark dew.
“He smelled like sports deodorant, woody cologne, and sex. I wanted nothing more than this man to take me.”
The bookstore fills with his scent. I am surprised to find myself turned on by the whole thing. I have reached the end of the book, the final page.
“It was then that I learned the billionaire's secret.”
This was the good stuff. I leech the words off the page and send them to Dan, or rather now, Dane.
“His secret wasn’t that he was hot, or rich, or could make any girl swoon.”
Their kiss intensifies. Dane started to undo Bridget's blouse.
“No, the billionaire's secret was.”
Suddenly Dane pulls away.
“The billionaire was gay.”
“Sorry Bridget,” Dane says taking a few steps back and looking at her with sudden realization. “I don’t think I can do this.”
His eyes wander over to lock onto mine, rich amber orbs seeming to really take me in. He winks. “You thought, I think that could work. What are you doing after this?” He asks smoothly “Want to go get coffee in Paris on my jet? My treat.”

The Thirst
Vampire Miguel AU? Why not. I will inevitably add this as a proper chapter in The Looking Glass, but this is the X Reader version. Typing on mobile is hard...
Earth 9962 (Iteration: 300)
The Unorthodox, London, 2022
The club had once been an old church, now it served another order of service altogether; aglow in vibrant neons, heaving with the pulse of music and life. Dancers lost in the beat on the shining floor, couples lost in each other on plush sofas on the upper levels and at least one or two strangers passed out in each other's arms somewhere in the shadows.
'The regular tonight, Mike?' The bartender spoke up to be heard over the pounding beat of the music, addressing the figure seated before him; Slicked dark hair, brown eyes, always mumbled when he spoke, always with a strange hunger about him, yet the guy couldn't be lacking in cash, for the pricy clothes he always strutted up in.
'Yeah, just the usual...' He took the crinkled note that was slid across the counter in response and replaced it with the strongest whiskey the house could offer. The whiskey would not soothe the ache in him, Miguel knew that, but this scene served two purposes: the first reminded him of what it meant to be human, to do things mortals did- like breathing, and drinking. For certain he could still eat and drink, hell he could even still get drunk if enough of a vast quantity passed his lips, but these were just simple pleasures, nothing would truly sate him. Then came the second reason; the club itself, the heaving bodies, the pulse of life. He could hear the heartbeats over the music, practically smell the liquor laced blood thundering through excited veins. He glimpsed at his watch, marking the time and raised the glass in a silent toast before taking a hefty sip. Here was to five-hundred years. Five hundred years since that night in old Mexica where his life had been stolen and his death denied.
It had been a long journey, of tragedies and wars, and loss. Eventually he had grown numb to it all, mortals did as they did, and eventually they slipped away and the next generation made the same mistakes. He had made mistakes, too. A frantic and young Fledgling who assumed he ruled and had quickly learned humility, of failed romances, of the fleeting fatherhood stolen by plague, of so many broken hearts. Even an Elder felt that kind of pain still. It was a blessing and a curse both, to be untouched by time, disease and death.
'What a nice surprise...' The scent of sweet perfume, the ghost of a hand across his shoulder, the beautiful vision in silken crimson cooed by his ear, her free hand clutching her bag tight.
'Another sweet night, my darling...?' Her voice was soft as silk in his ear, he merely took another sip from his glass, placing it back on the counter. If only the sheep knew there were now two wolves prowling incognito among them.
'Entertain yourself elsewhere, Christina, I am not in the mood for your games.' His response was curt, uncaring. Her charms would not work on him. Christina's smile was unfaltering, her icy blue eyes found his own inevitably. Once she had been a model, an actress of considerable skill, destined for stardom. Now she was barely half a century into her darker existence and had adapted far better than most. Miguel did not know who had Turned her, but the rare few who shared these streets with him knew one thing; this was his city, first and foremost.
'Aww, always a pleasure, sweetheart..' She purred with a playful wink, heels clicking on the floor as she weaved between the crowds, effortlessly drawing longing stares from man and woman alike, someone would find themselves going home with her tonight. Miguel shouldn't have looked, should have returned to his drink, but his eyes lingered as the crowds parted briefly, that was when he saw you.
High on life and booze, you had found yourself on the dancefloor, limbs twirling, uncaring for anything else as you and a friend lost all awareness for the outside world. It was only when the beautiful woman in red passed did you briefly falter, like the mere sight of her had hooked something into your skull. Then she passed by and the spell broke.
'You've got an admirer!' Your friend called out over the deafening thrum, and repeated themselves louder still as you held up a hand to your ear. You followed their pointing across the room to the bar; the tall, broad man sat half in shadow as if the light refused to cling to him, the feeling of hungry eyes upon you. Perhaps you'd get lucky tonight after all...
Miguel had drained the glass, uncaring for its burn down his throat and plotted his next move with patience. He could be very, very patient. You were aware of him, and he of you. He was content to wait, to see if you would make the next move. It would be so easy for him, just a touch of vampiric charm, a slight crook of a finger to beckon and you would be in his lap in moments, mind wrapped around his little finger. No. That would be far too easy.
He felt the atmosphere shift, something inside him bristled at the new presence; full of swagger, a young man had entered the club, dressed for a night out, for someone who desperately wanted attention. The eyes of every mortal on him, finding him irresistible. All Miguel saw was a troublesome Fledgling who needed to be put in their place.
He smothered the Fledgeling's charm with a strong arm across his shoulder, steering him away from the dancefloor- away from you, no sooner did they find a relatively quiet spot, did the troublesome new one find himself slammed against the wall with a hand at his throat.
'There are now three of us here. That is too much trouble to keep quiet. I also do not appreciate you so brazenly strutting in like a preening rooster, there is an art in charm and seduction that you wield with all the grace of a sledgehammer.'
The Fledgeling hissed at him, fangs bared, trying to amp up his intimidation through vampiric willpower. It was almost cute. Still easily keeping him pinned, Miguel stepped closer and returned the favour, fangs bared in a snarl, eyes ablaze crimson, letting the newly Turned vampire feel the full weight of an Elder's presence. He briefly relished the fear that followed realisation in those eyes, watched how he tried to shrink into himself, knees trembling.
'I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Sorry, sorry..!' His blubbering was an inelegant as his charms had been.
'Get. Out. Do not make me regret what mercy I show you now...' He kept his voice low, but those sensitive ears would pick it up all the same. Miguel could just as easily break a man's mind as his body. Satisfied that the message had been received, he released his crushing grip, and watched the terrified Fledgeling hurry to the exit, sparing horrified glances over his shoulder. He blinked, eyes losing their furious crimson lustre as he scoured the crowds once more, ensuring you were still there.
'So many hot people here tonight, god!' Your friend called out, but you did not look, barely paying attention, eyes firmly on the man who regarded you still; tall, broad, stylish, and looking right back at you. When did it get so hot in here? He took his hands from his coat pockets, glancing at his watch before giving you a charming smile and beckoning softly with one curled finger.
You would come to him, he had almost grown fond of you. He would look after you, keep you safe from the hungry Fledgelings. Tonight, you knew you had gotten lucky. Little did you know you would feel the bliss of his aching kiss.

i'm begging transformers writers to do something interesting with the fact that cybertronians are able to have altmodes that are just objects....
give me cybertronians whose altmodes are literally disability aids. like imagine the level of trust between two individuals; one who is disabled, maybe they their legs don't work or maybe their back struts have decayed to the point that they cannot be replace and having a cybertronian with a wheelchair or cane altmode assigned to them so that they can live a normal life without being shoved away to the fringes of society to rot. imagine having your conjunx endura or amica endure being the one to help you walk around or get to the store to buy groceries for the two of you, how much you trust them to keep you upright while they in turn trust you not to treat them like an object.
imagine cybertronians who can turn into listening devices or recorders to sit in on lectures or classrooms so that their friend with audial problems can listen back and get their notes in one time. imagine a cybertronian whose optics started to malfunction or whose just didn't work at all upon first coming into existance and having a friend or partner who can turn into a mobility cane to help them traverse the world. give me cybertronians who have really awful chronic joint pain because they've been alive so long that their parts can no longer be replaced who spend their time being taken care of because the world they live in deemed them existing enough to deserve being taken care of.
imagine cybertronians who've domesticated species of turbofoxes or other native wildlife and train them to be service animals, or herding animals, or hell just fucking pets.
imagine a version of prewar cybertron that integrated its disabled or otherwise unable to work citizens into their loving fold and simply accepted them for who they are.
i'm sick and tired of seeing the headcanons that cybertronians cannot be physically disabled or that the disabled don't exist on their planet because they're machines and can therefore just be fixed. that's boring, it's stupid and it's highly uncreative. transformers is a beautiful piece of media that should be able to incorporate as many people into it's worldbuilding as it can. i. want. more. disabled. cybertronians.
in fact i want more prewar worldbuilding in general. we know painfully little about what cybertron was like before the war and even my babygirl idw 2005 covers it to such a little extent that i'm going to spend the rest of this post complaining about it.
i want more cybertronians with hobbies not related to their altmodes. give me more examples of whirl's clockmaking or cyclonus' singing or swerve's bartending. i want cybertronians whose altmodes are science based spending their weekends hiking up in the mountains, simply taking in the beauty of their planets. i want cybertronians with racing altmodes sitting down and doing yoga in the part because they just need time to slow down. i want cybertronians with radio or communications altmodes/jobs who have hobbies like baking or reading or painting. the reason why so many of these characters feel so dry to me (i'm looking at you transformers prime) is because none of them have things to do outside of the war, not a single goddamn one.
i wanna know more about prewar culture too. i want to know all of the cities of cybertron and how their regional dialects formed. i want to know all the grammatical differences between conjugating a verb in kaonian and icaonian. or the way that northern area of tarn has a distinct accent from the southern. i want vosian accents to be described as elegent or rugged or cruel or how the way they form their glyphs has fundimentally changed the way their vocalizers produce sounds. give me radio stations that broadcast across cybertron with all the latest hits from popular singers. give me movies that get made in helex and then translated into iaconian and then further adapted for vosians.
i want a whole book full of the different ways to make things like energon candies or how to reduce different metals down to be consumed. give me a cybertronian, that before the war, was a cook and how they tried desperately to write down all the recipes in their brain module less that one recipe for sweet honey engex that their deceased conjunx taught them how to make be lost to the waves of forgotten history. give me a frantic archivist scrambling through the ruins of a kaonian library because they know its the only thing left of their family's once rich culture. give me a cybertronian whose job it is to help develop new structures, to design and instruct construction bots on where and when to build homes or libraries or restaurants.
i want a damn lore bible that goes into excruciating depths on how cybertron created and designed their cites, their roads, and their whole lives. i want that thing filled with the ways that families can be formed and how siblings and friends and conjunxes and amica come into existence and how all the cities of cybertron have slightly varied rituals for how those bonds are formed.
i'm so tired of the focus getting put on the war. i want to know the ways that this culture formed, how it grew, how it developed into the breeding ground for the unrest that led to the war. i don't care about megatron and optimus, i care about the cybertronians who came before them, who paved the streets that they walked on, who first spoke the languages that roll off their glossa and get inscribed onto their datapads. give a comic series or animated show that simply shows the day to day lives of various cybertronians before the planet went to hell. and if the writers are so damned insistant on retelling the same damn story again and again than fucking give me characters reminiscing or mourning the fall of their homes, their cultures, friends, family, lovers who all died. give me characters who tell their humans friends all about the sports they used to play, the movies or plays they used to attend, the boring homework they got assigned by their teacher or the bakery just down the street from their houses.
give me a cybertron that's bustling with life and culture. give a cybertron that feels alive

jobs masterlist.
because there can never really be enough masterlists regarding jobs for muses as far as i’m concerned. jobs on here will be separated by university / town / city / cruise / entertainment, as those tend to be the main roleplay settings i see. i’m gonna try to keep these more unique as opposed to popular ones like professor, barista and bartender - just because i feel like having unique jobs would be more useful. if you found this at all helpful, please reblog / like.

I HAVE A THING!!!
i'm mostly neck deep in my autumn exchange fic, but have also been working on this klaroline fic that is technically for halloween, but god only knows if i'll finish it, b/c i'm also trying to finish one single gd thing for riverrosetober.
this is a snippet from the halloween fic. it's technically a true blood crossover, but there's only one mention of a single season villain, and i kinda massaged that character's lore a smidge. tiny bit. a skosh. completely overhauled it. so, you don't need to have seen that at all. anyway, i'm trying to make it an exercise in just writing something and then blissfully sending it out into the world without obsessing over it. lololololololol
Klaus didn't notice at first.
Understandable, given the situation he found himself in, New Orleans a far bigger clusterfuck than he'd anticipated. Unforgivable, because he hadn't spent over a millennium honing his paranoia only to lose focus and fall down on the job once two-thirds of his long-term plans had resolved in his favor. And perhaps he was at his wits end, but he found himself oddly bored by the proceedings. Marcel and the witches. Hayley and Camille. His family. Despite the intrigue and murder, two of his favorite pastimes, there was something a bit hollow and listless about it all. Like the excitement he'd found in Mystic Falls had been leeched out of him, leaving only tepid machinations. He recalled joy bubbling up inside of him, like champagne and sunshine, but could no longer invoke anything of the sort.
It took weeks of turning the problem over and over in his mind, before he began to sense the stitchwork in his memory. Even then, it wasn't until he was observing--not stalking, Rebekah, thank you very much--Cami at Rousseau's one night that he knew what had been removed.
Or rather: who.
He spent the evening sweet-talking the bartender as she poured him drink after drink, tipping her every time, until she finally tossed over her shoulder, sassy and offhand, "You're not going to seduce me, Klaus. I'm way too smart to fall for those lines."
He hardly managed to stagger outside and to an isolated location before he was on the ground, clawing at the agony in his head, at the lonely, longing desperation erupting in his chest. The smell of his own blood gagging him, even as he mutilated himself like an animal, trying to tear out what tortured him. It eased off gradually, until eventually he found himself panting, filthy, and exhausted, soothed by the nearby rush of the Mississippi and its muddy-fishy-pollution stink, and the endorphin-soaked relief of the absence of pain.
When he could think again, he fumbled for his cellphone, arms rubbery and fingers clumsy, and despite his bleary vision, found a contact he would have sworn hadn't been there an hour ago. Except it had. He'd had her name, her mobile number, home address, email, the terrible strip mall Chinese restaurant whose egg rolls she loved, her bloody mother's bloody blood type, for fuck's sake, stored in his contacts for months.
His guts curdled when an automated voice told him the line wasn't in service.
He went down the Mystic Falls contacts. The Bennett witch didn't answer. Neither did Stefan. Damon, remarkably, did.
"Listen, I thought the whole taking your psycho family and moving far, far away thing meant I got to stop having these little bromantic chit-chats with you," the absolute prick on the other end of the line said without a greeting.
"If I could reach anyone else, believe me, we wouldn't be," Klaus ground out, throat like broken glass and raw meat.
"Jesus, you sound like shit. Well, almost everyone's gone traveling for the summer, now that things have settled down. If you need a witch, Bonnie's not really taking calls. And also hates you, so you know. Tough luck."
"Who do you suppose I'm calling in regards to, you imbecile?" Klaus panted, heaving himself up off the ground. "Caroline! I'm trying to reach Caroline!"
There was a long pause, and then, with the kind of honest bewilderment that could not be faked, Damon Salvatore asked, "Who?"

tumblr choose your own adventure: part 5
Previous parts: https://www.tumblr.com/trans-girl-nausicaa/tagged/CYOA
>Go to a barcade.
Today has been stupid.
Your job, which is usually mind-numbing, has been really getting to you lately. You think about how you have no interest in food service whatsoever, and how this job is just what (barely) pays the bills. You are irked that you got reprimanded for a relatively harmless jab at the oversensitive Dennish Splatsyn, while he and the other guys at this job make shitty, sexist comments with each other all the time. What a double standard.
The satisfaction (?) of acquiring some half-century-old Czech curios isn’t enough to dull the sting of your banal and frustrating existence.
You check your inventory.
INVENTORY:
[Wallet] [Cash: $36.50]
[Mobile phone] [Battery: 89%]
[Keys]
[Antique Czech Typewriter] [Ink ribbons: 0]
[Antique Czech Lighter] [Fuel level: 0%]
[Antique CZ 75 Pistol, 9mm, Automatic] [Ammunition: 0]
All the stuff you fished out of the dumpster is currently unusable. You suppose you’ll have to go shopping for the requisite items if you want to use any of those.
Anyway, it’s the afternoon, let’s go to a freakin’ barcade.
You open your phone’s map application and search for “barcade.” You request directions to the top location on the list. Following the application’s directions, you take the bus to the trendiest neighborhood in town. It’s the kind of area where you can get an expensive haircut or go to a candle store. Maybe even get an expensive haircut IN a candle store. You’re not really sure.
You spot the barcade. It’s on the corner of a major street with a lot of foot traffic, and it has large windows though you can’t seem to see inside. Curiously, the neon sign, reading “The Potion Seller,” seems to not be working. As you get closer, you see a large sign on the door.
The sign informs you that this location is closed and the business is actually in the process of moving locations. The new neighborhood is somehow even more bourgie than this one.
Somewhat put off, you pull out your phone again and do another search.
Ah, okay, there’s actually another barcade 5 blocks away from here. Figures.
You walk to the other one.
It’s a lot smaller, nestled in the middle of the street next to an alley. It has small windows but a warm light shines from within. You step up to the door and a small sign reads “The Adventurer’s Tavern.”
You open the door.
The center of the room has a couple large tables. One of them hosts a group of friends who look to be setting up a tabletop roleplaying game.
On the WEST side is a bar, staffed by a single bartender. Behind the bar there is a shelf of board games and a menu board listing several video game themed cocktails.
On the EAST side are a row of pinball machines.
On the NORTH side there are several arcade machines. One person is playing a fighting game.
There are more people entering the barcade through the door behind you. You had better get out of their way.

Some small bits of useful gossip from Zakee, the bartender at the Amkethran tavern.
The local monk order used to be a lot more helpful to the townsfolk until Balthazar arrived, at which point they started ignoring the locals and putting restrictions on the smugglers who brought much of the area's supplies.
Some say Balthazar is himself a Bhaalspawn. ( :O ) Melissan was the one who brought him to Amkethran originally.
Melissan is known widely as "protector of all Bhaal's children" (and Zakee compares her to Elminster's protection of the Harpers).
Sendai, one of the Bhaalspawn generals we're here to take out, is a drow elf, and Balthazar is mobilizing forces to face her.
Abazigal, the other general, is also spoken of, but Zakee doesn't know if it's one person; he heard the name spoken of in conjunction with discussion of an "army of dragons." That sounds concerning.
The monks in the monastery were originally a warrior order that was exiled from some ancient place.
Balthazar doesn't let anyone into the monastery, and the place is protected by spell wards. (Imoen speculates that there may be other ways in than the front door, however, and Zakee says the local smugglers might know a way in.)
Zakee doesn't know what the mercenaries in the town are here for, but there's speculation that Balthazar is trying to raise an army.
Marlowe is not an Amkethran native, but arrived a few weeks ago and is stuck here because his daughter has fallen ill. He apparently drinks a lot and rambles about undead creatures in the local graveyard cave.
He also doesn't offer item identification services, which is pretty damn rude of him. :P
