“Another gift? Cheol this is like the third one this month,” you pout as you take the bag from your boyfriend’s hands, already knowing what’s inside. He simply smiles as he leans in and presses a kiss to your cheek. “Sorry about that, but you know I love spoiling you,” he says, pressing a quick kiss to your lips. 

You roll your eyes but there’s no malice behind it, you know how Seungcheol gets when you try denying that you don’t deserve everything that he’s bought you over the months you’ve been together. The one time you said that you didn’t deserve all that he’s gotten you he gently tackled you onto your couch, smothering you in kisses until you recanted your sentence, finally accepting your fate of your boyfriend coming to your apartment, gift in hand. 

As of late, however, you noticed a trend in the gifts he would get you. Originally they were normal things, like your favorite treats from the cafe near your apartment, maybe some jewelry he thought would look nice in your collection, or some outfits he’d thought would look pretty on you. Lately, he’d buy you books, which you loved of course, it’s just after the fifth book he’s bought, you realized something. 

All the books he’s gotten you were all on your wishlist of books you wanted to read, and that’s all great, except you never shared the list with Seungcheol.  

You never shared that list with anyone in fact, so how he knew which book to get you, was beyond you. He even buys you the book you’re especially wanting to read that month, putting a star by its name on the sticky note you keep on your desk of all the books you want to read. Hell, half the time you forget where you keep the sticky note, so if he knows where it is, he does a better job at remembering than you do. 

You open the bag to see the book you’ve been wanting to read since the author announced a sequel in the works a year ago. You let out a small gasp before looking up to see him watching for your reaction, a bashful smile on his face. 

“I know you’ve been waiting for the sequel for a while and when I saw that it was finally out, I knew I had to get it for you,” he muttered, his cheeks an adorable shade of pink as you ran your pointer finger through the pages of the book, still in a bit of awe of having the book in your had as well the fact that he remembered. 

How he always knows what book to get you doesn’t matter to you, all that matters to you is the fact he knows you so well, and he wants to treat you like this just because. You put the book down and wrap your arms around his neck, “thank you Cheol, I love you.” 

He smiles, wrapping his arms around your waist, “of course, I love you too.” And he hopes you don’t mind him always checking your desk to see if you’ve updated your wishlist so he can keep surprising you like this.

Y’know what would be fun and fucked up.

Since I’m still full of spite about Dark being a costume gimmick instead of grabbing BOTW!Link by the throat and giving him the perfect identity crisis gut punch, I think I deserve to dial up the angst knob.

I already have an idea for how to write Dark as a satisfying, if still obviously gimmick fight, but I just remembered that the Palace of the Four Sword is a thing.

The Four Sword Sanctuary kind of moves around between games, but it’s meant to be in the center of Hyrule, that center just changes because the map is insane. In Minish Cap, the sanctuary is in a courtyard in the center of Hyrule Castle, behind an invisible door.

In Link To The Past, if I recall right, the Palace of the Four Sword is a secret dungeon in the base of the Pyramid of Power, which is the Dark World’s substitute for Hyrule Castle.

So.

Let’s play a game.

We could put this either in the undercroft of Hyrule Castle in BOTW, or roughly under it in TOTK, since I do like the idea of The Depths being used as that game’s version of the Dark World. Four Swords and Four Swords Alliance seem to depict the ruins of the sanctuary slightly open to the elements, so it might not be perfectly under the castle this far down the timeline- we could even move it somewhere closer to the Minshi Woods. The Palace of the Four Sword, to me, is either one of two things: the corrupted remains of the Four Sword sanctuary, or a separate location constructed specifically by the royal family to imprison all the loose ends. I lean towards the first option.

You want your gimmick gear? You want Majora’s Mask?

Fight the shade of the Hero of Time for it.

You want the Bow of Light?

Fight the shade of Twilight Princess Zelda and her wolf for it.

You want the sailcloth?

You’ll have to rip it out of the cold dead hands of the man who killed a god.

If you’re like me, and you want some Four Swords rep or even just a singular crumb of Vaati, I think having a location like that- a hero’s tomb of some sort under the palace where you do a boss rush to mug them for their stuff- is a fun reference to start with, but apparently in development they tossed around the idea of Minish Cap’s shrinking mechanic. I am pouncing on this idea like a feral wolf because absolutely nothing recontextualizes mob threat assessment like that first boss battle in Deepwood Shrine.

The reason I shouldn’t be put in charge of writing videogames is because I’d make a gimmick dungeon in the Minshi Woods where you get shrunk to Tom Thumb size and then have to fight a keese.

The reason they should hire me anyway is because in a game where weapon durability is a mechanic and yet there are No Blacksmiths, I’d make a questline where you have to visit the fae folk to bring back the secrets of metallurgy, just one sidequest of many to help rebuild what Hyrule has lost in the wake of the Calamity. The Minish are the ones who forged the Picori Blade, after all, you can play a whole game about it.

Also, just to round the whole thing out, while I like the fact that the Master Sword tries to murder you in BOTW I think it would have been cool to fight the shade of you from 100 years ago in the Lost Woods as a trial before you earned the right to wield her. Our lad has too many hangups and issues, make him stab them in the face.

I can’t believe Youth of May is done. I enjoyed it so much. It was one of the dramas from this year that I actually finished and thoroughly enjoyed.

Minsi and Dohyun both did a great job along with the rest of the cast and crew. I’m gonna miss them!

it's something........................ it really is................ i expected at the very least that the writing would be good and compelling coming from MISS KEH but damn.............................. it's not giving me anything in a positive way. it's weird. it's odd.

the dialogue, the props, the fake rocks, the fake stage scenery, the paper background of mountains as the background for some scenes. the cgi. the misplaced heavy metal music. the mix between old music and new music. the weird use of cringe moments in between............... miss KEH always said she doesn't like writing romance and it's weird for her and she admires the spawn of hell for her romance dramas and NOW I KNOW WHY because the lil bits and pieces of what she considers to be nice for the 2 main leads to build something more are cheesy.

prince chang and ashin are giving something but the characters, for now, are like the standard good people and nothing new. it's prince change but in modern times. i like minshi but her character, for now, is just cute and that's it and she hardly shows up but when she does she and jung se are eating everyone up. i really enjoy them as dad-daughter but like the rest...................... it's mediocre. exaggerated. over the top.

cannot believe that MISS KEH wrote the script. the way she wrote kingdom s1+2 and the special eps in under 90 min and they were so much more compelling and better-paced and structured. characters were different and they felt *intense* and not flat and safe. they were interesting from the start.

the run time............. why are all tvn dramas so long like i do not need 90min of runtime when 50 out of a 90min ep are wasted on nothing that moves the story forward. all the filler content. and yes you could argue that *it's just the first 2 eps. it's to set up the drama* and i understand but MISS KEH DID DO THAT better with the first 2 eps of kingdom and in less time. other dramas did it better also.

the scenery is nice. love the scenery but that's not on them that's on mother nature and she should get all the praise for that.

also iqiyi..................that file quality.............. it's embarrassing the way it's nothing at all.

she should have just worked on s3 of fokn kingdom damn..................

tbh I quite liked v*ncenzo...it wasn't extraordinary and I didn't care for the romance, but it was for me a cathartic viewing experience with an enjoyable cast, and while some complained about the villain I actually counted it as a plus. like...yeah, evil is banal and childish. and OTC almost made me, long-time 2pm fan, forget who he is, he really did well. it definitely worked in its favour that I didn't quite have the time to watch it as it aired, and so I wound up watching it concurrent w t$xi driver, which just...infuriated me so much. if you are going to write a revenge fantasy do it with your whole chest! let your protagonists be morally not all there it's FINE!! god what a waste of a nearly-perfect cast (the taxi crew) that one was. nsnjsk

other than that...honestly yeah what did even air this year. I loved Move to Heaven & Doom at... — and that was about it? I'm a lousy LDH fan bc I haven't worked the courage to watch YoM yet, I just cannot bear a sad ending rn т т

SIDELINING SONG KANG. I FOKN REPEAT SIDELINING SONG FOKN KANG FOR THAT BORING MF?????????????????????????? THEM DECEIVING US IN THE TRAILERS AND THE FAKE MARKETING???????????????????????????? my eyes were open watching this shit but my mind was foking sleeping and praying this will be over soon. it was fucking depressing to watch. even more than sweet home. and sweet home was depressing as it already is. 

foking jojo: the way they wrote her character was so obnoxiously bad. even worse than s1. and her in s1 was already shit when it came to her using her brain. I mean it was established that she was never the smartest and doesn’t like using her brain but they really made her dumb af. girl said to sunho she doesn’t need the love alarm app to let him and herself know that she doesn’t love him back. then why the fuck does she need it so desperately to let that boring mf know she likes him and not sunho??????? why did she need to remove her shield on that fokn app and get a spear to do the do???and it looks like it’s also manipulative? like she could use it on anyone? she installed that shield to protect and to not hurt sunho but she’s constantly hurting him???????? and yes, sunho is a fucking mess and problematic too but?? the fucking logic behind her explanations??? the dumb bitch behavior she excels in?? you don’t need that app to tell one guy you don’t love him anymore (PFFFFFFFFFFFF) but need that same app to tell the other MF that you do?????????????? girl needs to throw that fucking phone away and get a new phone and without her installing that shit anymore. 

her scenes with that boring mf............boring. depressing. they have hardly fun. and i should root for them? they tried to give him depth this season lmaoooooooooooo 

also that whitewashed/pale filter they put on all the eps that made all the actors look like ghosts is terrible. and the way they shot the scenes. never centering on the actors. they are always on one side of the screen. they could have combined the 6 eps into 1 and called it a day because nothing happened but repetitive boring fuckery. there was no need to make 6 episodes. no need at all. jojo whining why her life’s shit like GIRL YOU ARE THE REASON. everything felt so flat.  sunoh is so miserable and pathetic.

like WHO was waiting for 2 years to see JOJO and that other fucker make out and have no chemistry for 90% of the time. (maybe 5% of those weirdos lmaooooooooo) season 1 was such a success because of the chemistry between sohyun and kang and not because of sohyun and the other actor. 

i liked minshi’s character more in this one. at least she had a lil bit of growth and it was fun from all the other depressing and boring shit. 

the side plot and new side characters didn’t add anything. the plotholes.
