Why is every clothing website all of a sudden labeling any and every dress that is above the knee a “mini dress” 😭 it’s incredibly hard to tell whether they mean mini as in mini-skirt length barely covering my ass (usually they do) or if they mean a work appropriate knee-length regular short dress because they’re calling it all the same damn thing! The only option is now “mini dress” and then we jump to tea length and maxi like….

#I have only noticed this like. this season. #maybe they’ve been doing it for a while but?? #and dresses in general are all of a sudden even shorter. like. all of them. and I’m a short person to begin with! #so it’s like. now I exclusively have to wear midi dresses because we’ve eliminated a whole very normal length #category of dress! #ugggh. #and I’m not shopping in the juniors section and then being shocked these dresses are made to fit teenagers. I’m talking like. TJMAXX. #dresses that are clearly styled as business casual and yet are so short I can’t bend over in them without flashing people #now how am I supposed to wear this to the office?

My first ever @mayakern order just shipped today and it contains the ye olde cats skirt and I'll be damned if I don't go to the fine arts museum, wearing that skirt, to take a picture in front of my favorite painting in that building, the one with the cat with the human nose, which happens to be featured on said skirt. Consider this my pledge to do this.

#khar says stuff #truly i've been thinking about getting some of those skirts since last summer #when i realized 1/ that I could actually wear midi length stuff without my tiny hobbit legs looking ridiculous #and 2/ that it was actually not skirt/dresses themselves that i disliked but the absence of /pockets/ #tried to get some this spring but they all went out of stock SO FAST #and then I was trying to think of something to wear to go to the drag race france show in october #and roomie suggested that i finally give in and place that order....... #and i did #can't wait for that package to cross the atlantic!
