Thank you James Hemings for bringing Mac and Cheese to America!!!! I knew Thomas Jefferson didn't know anything about making his own food. They always give him the credit for the Mac & Cheese.
Jefferson gave James his freedom in exchange for keeping James's brother enslaved and as his new cook. Jefferson was sick and twisted .
—James Hemings was born in 1765 into slavery and lived much of his life enslaved. He was among the many enslaved people who came into Thomas Jefferson's possession through his wife's inheritance.
—In May 1784, Hemings received a summons to join Jefferson in Philadelphia. From there they travelled to Paris where he was trained in the art of French cooking. At a time when illiteracy was imposed on all African people, he was not only literate but fluent in English and French.
—James went on to make culinary history. He ran the kitchens of Jefferson’s residence on the Champs-Élysées, overseeing meals served to the notables of Europe. This made him the first American chef to be head cook at an American embassy.
—Macaroni & cheese, vanilla ice cream, French fries, crème brulée, meringues, and many other foods were introduced by Hemings, though Jefferson got the credit.
James continued his legacy and became one of the nation’s most influential culinary instructors. His transfer of knowledge impacted Black cooks, caterers, and chefs who were instrumental in developing American dining.
Hemings life was cut tragically short in 1801 through suicide at 36; a letter addressed to Jefferson said that the cause was “drinking too freely.” Ultimately he left an important legacy in culinary history. He helped to create and define American Cuisine as we know it today! #JamesHemings#BlackHistory

Note
do you think they have any shared interest or hobbies :0
they definitely bake! uzbekistan was nomadic for a while before settling down, so the food she has is definitely tasty, but for survival. making something sweet would have been a luxury these nomadic tribes didn't feel the need to have, hence her small array of desserts.
turkey however was given a lot of time to sit down and crave something sweet. not just that, he was surrounded by cultures that had something to bring to the table, which is how you get food like baklava, lokum, kunefe, and others.
so you have someone who doesn't know how to bake, and someone who has years of experience. he'd definitely teach her how to bake sweet treats!
in turn, she teaches him how to make her food: dimlama, somsa, and of course, osh/plov! heavy emphasis on the last one, this one time turkish food creators were trying to cook osh, they did it in a frypan... WHERES YOUR WOK !!
but its ok because when uzbekistan teaches turkey to make uzbek pahlava, he almost cries inside. raisins?? a meringue layer?? what??
they both also watch turkish dramas. though it's funny because when they watch it at her house, some parts sadik was absolutely sure were in the episode are just gone.
🇺🇿: see we had to get rid of the not halal parts of the episode
🇹🇷: so you got rid of like. half the episode???
🇺🇿: i got jumpscared by a guy and a girl eating their faces off once it's not happening again
so anyways the marketing team for mendirman jaloliddin definitely called them over and took promotional pics with them.
they also probably watch those russian true crime dramas about cases from the ussr(rip uzb is a true crime girly)
dancing! when turkey goes to uzbek weddings with her, she(and the local grandmas) teach him how to dance. she falls on the floor in stitches every time. halay is easier for her to get used to, until the music randomly speeds up and slows down.
unrelated but... in my mind...miss nargiza is so so good at lazgi. this is my sign to draw her in a lazgi fit. it's how she trains herself to smile at world meetings, since you need to keep a smile on the whole time. watching her dance is...kinda uncanny...
museums, sometimes? uzbekistan loves going to art and history museums, she likes looking at the legacy her people have left behind! she brings turkey along as well. depending on what kind of museum, he'd be down for it or he'll pass
🇹🇷: but i've already seen you in those outfits like 3 centuries agooooo
🇺🇿: ok but have you seen these tapestries?? never probably
music. rubob-baglama duo when
reading! i like to think sometimes they'll chill and read
oh omg clothes shopping too. again I can see turkey flip flopping around: sometimes he likes it sometimes he hates it but I imagine they spend time picking out each others' outfits <3

So personal Kirby species yah- Frubbles. Strawberry is self explanatory of what kind of Frubble she is Frubble Fylass is a special case Born a Frubble with a hint of Gem apple genetics and some other nobody knows where exactly he came from as his family was born outside of the kingdom, however he's not really fond of talking about his family unless it's his found family he'll ramble on about them constantly....
Strawberry was running an errand to get stuff with her mother they unfortunately had been separated due to strawberry getting distracted and lost she has been attacked by a few denizens of the nearby dangerous forest, this is how she lost her horn...... luckily for her though her mother was a excellent fighter and fought them off however not without sustaining a lethal amount of damage.. Strawberry had to rush her to the nearest doctor, she lasted for a few days before she had a peaceful passing...
Strawberry has some guilt from this because she wonders what would've happened if she didn't get distracted that day...Strawberry has some guilt from this because she wonders what would've happened if she didn't get distracted that day...
She carries on her mother's legacy spreading smiles and joy on the citizens faces which lead her to meet Frubble Fy and a few other friends of her mother's
She ever since her death has gotten letters from her dad from far off places and sometimes she'd have trinkets from them, he's trying his best to be there for her but it's not easy when you are a very important person to your kingdom and safety
She by time grew up and has became an excellent sword fighter and with great care carries her mother's rapier sword she would use when in her other persona, she was going to gift it to Strawberry when she was old enough to know her secret...but instead Frubble Fy was the one to tell her such and hand her the rapier sword as she trusted him to if she wasn't able to in the future.
I still need to draw Meringue.. who is the Royal Secretary and head of communications and... she's an ass HASHDSJZ She's very picky and gatekeepy about who speaks to the queen Only if it's what she sees as important to the kingdom will she allow such... Not many know what the queen looks like as the hierarchy is a bit fucked thanks to a few people and no no the queen isn't one of them
Unfortunately we got some weeds in this kingdom...
And this is another factor to what led to Fy's retirement as much as he loved his people and queen he couldn't stand for the wrong doing of the council And in the future he does set things right, He has morals and those weeds do NOT follow them
In the future Fy and Strawberry's dad help fix that and even the queen gets a say as she's been stifled by the fuckers all along
(Frubble Fylass is based on @george228732 's fylass he has part of the credit for Frubble Fylass' existence! Check him out too!!)

16 Black Innovators Who Changed Food Forever
Macaroni and cheese. Ice cream. French fries. Jack Daniel's whisky. Frozen foods in general.
We wouldn't have any of the above foods, plus many others, were it not for Black food innovators and figureheads that have made significant contributions and altered the way we eat and make food today.
Below are just some of the stories of these incredibly talented and inspiring individuals. Some of these names came from research via the New York Times and Food and Wine, but we've also included historical sourcing and context for each person as well. You can click on their names to view those original pieces.
Nathan "Nearest" Green
Tumblr media
Known as "Uncle Nearest," Nathan Green was a skilled distiller who mastered the "Lincoln County" process. This method of distilling is thought by food historians and whiskey experts alike to have been brought in by slaves, and uses charcoal to filter and purify foods. The "Lincoln County" process, in particular, uses sugar maple charcoal to filter bourbon.
Green trained hired hand Jasper Newton Daniel (known to the world as "Jack Daniel") while working on a priest's distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Daniel eventually made him the first master distiller of Jack Daniel's, the famous Tennessee whisky many people drink today.
While Jack Daniel's shares the story of Green on their website, an all minority-led whisky brand named "Uncle Nearest" continues to build upon his legacy with spirits that use the same distilling technique, but feature Green's name on the bottle.

While Thomas Jefferson is sometimes credited with bringing foods like mac & cheese and ice cream to the United States, Hemings was the one who actually learned to make them. A slave in the ownership of Jefferson prior to his presidency, Hemings traveled with him to France in 1784 specifically to learn the art of French cuisine.
Hemings became the first American trained as a French chef in history as a result, bringing back several dishes to the United States. French fries, ice cream, macaroni and cheese, creme brulee, French meringues, and French whipped cream are just a few examples. These dishes and others would be incorporated in Hemings' signature half-French, half-Virginian style of cooking he became renowned for.
Hemings would later also cook one of the most famous dinners in American history: the one between Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton that settled who would pay for the Revolutionary War and established Washington, D.C. as the United States' capital. He eventually was freed by Jefferson in 1796.
Zephyr Wright
Tumblr media
Zephyr Wright was the personal chef for President Lyndon B. Johnson and his family for over twenty years. It was her cooking that made the Johnson household a popular one for D.C. dinner parties.
Wright would follow Johnson to the White House during his tenure, and was in charge of the home cooking in the White House kitchen. She would also temporarily cook all meals, including VIP ones, in between the tenures of two White House Executive Chefs.
Wright is thought to have heavily influenced Johnson's support for the Civil Rights Act of 1964,. Wright was known to have spoken up to the President during his time in Congress about the injustices she faced road tripping between Texas and D.C. during congressional recesses, saying that she was not allowed to use the bathroom in areas she was driving through, and couldn't stop off and eat at restaurants. President Johnson reportedly used some of her stories to convince Congress to sign the bill. He would also give her a White House pen when the act was signed into law.
Leah Chase
Tumblr media
The Queen of Creole Cuisine, Leah Chase was the heart and soul of Dooky Chase's restaurant in New Orleans across seven decades. Known for her fried chicken, red beans and rice, gumbo, and other classics, Chase started out in the 1940s when she got a job as a server at a restaurant. She eventually took over the helm and made it a safe haven for anyone to come and eat at.
Dooky Chase's was known as one of the few places that it was publicly okay for races to mix at, since the cops wouldn't bother activists inside the restaurant. Thus, leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, including local leaders and national ones like Martin Luther King Jr., would often strategize while eating there.
Chase would go on to serve presidents like Barack Obama and George W. Bush, along with Associate Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and other influential figures. Disney has even made a movie with a character inspired by her: Princess Tiana of Princess and the Frog.
Abby Fisher
Around the early 1880s, Abby Fisher was known for her award-winning pickles and the Mrs. Abby Fisher Pickle Company in San Francisco. She had at least 35 years of cooking experience, some estimates had it, and the awards she won for her food reflected that.
However, Fisher is probably best known for publishing one of the first cookbooks ever authored by an African-American woman. The book, called What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking, contains over 160 recipes and uses the dictated words of Fisher herself.
The cookbook surged in popularity in the late 20th century when a publisher began reprinting it in 1995. Today, it offers a window into these early recipes that places like museums try to recreate for guests to sample.
Edna Lewis
Tumblr media
Edna Lewis became a legend while she cooked at Cafe Nicholson in Midtown Manhattan starting in 1949. Her fame and Southern recipes led to guests like Marlon Brando, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Salvador Dali showing up for dinner. After stepping away from the chef's role (as an active partner) in 1952, she would lecture at the American Museum of Natural History while working as a chef and private caterer.
Lewis would later become inspired to write her first cookbook as demand for them grew in 1972. She was one of the first African-American women from the South that would publish a cookbook that did not hide her name, gender, or race. She would go on to publish more in the future, eventually becoming known as the Grand Dame and Grand Doyenne of Southern cooking.
Larry James and Jereline Bethune
The Bethune family, to this day, runs Brenda's Bar-Be-Que Pit in Montgomery, Alabama. Open since 1942, the restaurant would become an important hub for those in the Civil Rights Movement.
After Rosa Parks infamously refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus, Larry James and Jereline Bethune were instrumental in using their restaurant to organize bus boycott efforts around the city. As the movement continued and literacy test laws (meant to curtail the Black vote) were introduced, Jereline would also quietly hold lessons teaching other African-Americans how to read. They were then able to pass these literacy tests and go out and vote.
Alfred L. Cralle
Tumblr media
Ice cream today would not be the same without the work of Alfred Cralle. Born just after the Civil War, he had an affinity for mechanics as a young age, and would go study at Wayland Seminary, a school set up after the Civil War to educate newly freed African-Americans.
Cralle would go on to work as a porter at a drugstore and a hotel in Philadelphia, and developed the idea of the ice cream scoop while watching people struggle using two different spoons to get the ice cream into cones. Cralle's mechanical inventional, which is the basis of how ice cream scoops work to this day, was invented in 1897.
Cralle would also become a successful promoter of businesses in Philly, and was the assistant manager of the Afro-American Financial, Accumulating, Merchandise, and Business Association in Pittsburgh.
Tumblr media
Ever heard the story of how potato chips were invented to spite a customer at a restaurant? George Crum was the chef at said restaurant, the Moon Lake Lodge resort in Saratoga Springs. A customer came in around the summer of 1853 wanting extra-thin French Fries, frustrating Crum to the point he sliced them as thin as possible, fried them in grease, and sent them out.
The chips became a big hit, eventually becoming known as "Saratoga Chips." While Crum never patented the dish, he did open his own restaurant, "Crumbs House," that served a basket of them at every table.
Chips wouldn't become a grocery product until 1895, and the concept of bagged chips didn't show up until 1926.
Tumblr media
Joseph Lee was one of the most influential people when it came to industrializing the way we make bread.
Having worked in a bakery from a young age, Lee eventually became the owner of two restaurants in Boston, as well as a hotel and a catering company. Looking to find a way to minimize bread waste, he eventually invented a machine that would convert day-old bread into breadcrumbs. Patented in 1895, he later sold the rights and the breadcrumb maker would spread across the world.
That wasn't Lee's only invention, however. He would later patent the idea for an automatic bread maker that mixed and kneaded the dough, the basis to the same devices (think, stand mixers) that we still use in our kitchens today.
Tumblr media
Lloyd Hall is considered to be one of the pioneers in the world of food chemistry. A pharmaceutical chemist for Griffith Laboratories in Chicago who completed graduate school, Hall would be awarded over 100 patents and received multiple honorary doctorate degrees for his work.
Hall's main area of work came around the development of techniques to preserve food. Some of his most revolutionary patents included using  "flash-dried" salt crystals that revolutionized meatpacking. He also introduced the use of antioxidants to prevent the spoilage of fats and oils in baked goods, and developed a process known as "Ethylene Oxide Vacugas," which could control the growth of bacteria and molds in food.
Tumblr media
John Standard was an inventor instrumental in modernizing two pieces of kitchen equipment that virtually every household has today: stoves and refrigerators.
Refrigeration was a concept that was being researched as early as the 1830s, but mainly focused on using some sort of power. Standard's improvement to the fridge, patented in 1891, was an unpowered design that used a manually filled ice chamber as the central cooling unit.
Standard also made significant upgrades to the oil-powered stove, patenting one with a space-saving design in 1889 that could be used in applications like buffet-style meals on trains.
Tumblr media
If you've worked in the food industry or any commercial transportation that required keeping stuff cold, you've likely seen the Thermo King brand somewhere in your lifetime. Frederick McKinley Jones was the founder of that company, and inventor of the first automated refrigerated system for trucks.
A skilled and gifted electrician and mechanic, Jones had patents for sixty different inventions across a wide variety of fields, including the portable X-ray machine, motion picture devices, and even medical storage units.
He's most known for the Thermo King, the refrigerated system he invented, because it allowed for fresh goods from around the world to be transported and sold in stores. Jones is essentially responsible for not just all refrigerated transport globally, but also the entire frozen food industry.
Tumblr media
Known as the "Oyster King of New York," Downing was most known for his 19th-century restaurant, Thomas Downing's Oyster House. His oyster hall was legendary, with prominent figures like Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens having dined there.
Downing was born a free man, as his parents were freed by plantation owner John Downing. He grew up and was educated on Chincoteague Island in Virginia, and eventually made his way up to New York following the war of 1812. Like many other African-Americans in New York, Downing eventually went into the oyster business, opening his own oyster cellar in the 1820s.
Oyster cellars were the universal food of New York at the time (similar to hot dogs today), but many establishments weren't as trusted as Downing's. That's because he specifically catering it towards the fine dining clientele, with a large dining area, carpet, and chandeliers gracing the hall. Elaborate dishes like oyster-stuffed turkeys and a pan roast made with wine and chili graced the menu.
This, at the time, meant that African-Americans couldn't eat Downing's restaurant, but few were aware of the double life he led. Downing's basement was a key stop in the Underground Railroad, and as an abolitionist, he helped many that were escaping the South in search of freedom. He also led political efforts, funding schools for African-American children and leading the fight in desegregating New York's trolley system.
Downing was so regarded in New York that when he passed away in 1866, the New York City Chamber of Commerce closed so that its members could attend his funeral.
Tumblr media
The sugar industry in the United States has Norbert Rillieux to thank for allowing them to become so powerful. Were it not for his inventions, making sugar would still be a time-consuming and dangerous process.
Originally, the sugar refinement process, known as "The Jamaica Train," was dangerous and expensive. Laborers (usually slaves) would transfer ladles of scalding hot sugar case juice between open boiling kettles, often resulting in scalding and terrible burns (anyone who's worked with sugar knows how painful it can be). The result was a dark syrup that was molded into cones and dried before being sold.
From  1834-1843, Rillieux developed a system for refining and crystallizing sugar using a much safer and controlled method, allowing the United States to eventually dominate the sugar market. His process is still used today for freeze-drying food, pigments, and other food products.
Tumblr media
Many people know George Washington Carver for the myriad of products he invented that utilized peanuts or sweet potatoes. As an agricultural scientist working in the South, he was also a man responsible for helping revitalize much of the economy in that region.
Working out of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, Carver was a teacher and a researcher from the late 1890s until his passing in 1943. An early pioneer of crop rotation, he encouraged farmers to plant peanuts in the soil after harvest to replenish lost nutrients, helping farmers improve not just their livelihoods, but their diets as well.
Carver's research and work focused on revitalizing soil and maximizing plant production while keeping costs to a minimum. Outside of agriculture, he was a massive promoter of racial equality, and massive advocate of peanut oil as a potential treatment for polio. While never proven, the claim was widely circulated in media, and eventually turned into a "Peanuts for Polio" fundraising effort that helped raise money for medical care and benefits for children affected with the disease.
Following Carver's passing, then-Senator Harry S. Truman sponsored legislation that would lead to the construction of the George Washington Carver National Monument. It was the first-ever national memorial to an African-American.

so, many months ago i sent an anonymous ask to @satanfemme requesting a matching butch flag to hys femme flag, and hys response was that hy didn't feel comfortable making it due to not being a butch hymself ─ but that i (or any other butch) could make one if we wanted to!! and that's exactly what i did. hopefully i remember to include all of the thoughts i wanted to put down.
to OP, assuming you see this: i'm going to copy your post format, as the point is for it to match and that the flag is based off of yours. if you are uncomfortable with anything or you would like me to change/delete something, please let me know and i will be happy to communicate effectively!! :)
^^ i'd also like to note that i acknowledge your blog is 18+. at the time of this post, i am 17. i hope that this sort of contact can be counted as an exception. i won't follow you, or interact with any of your other posts. but i'd still like to respect your wishes as best as i can. give me a heads-up if there's anything else i should be aware of, thanks.

to start off, it was unintentional that the colors are slightly more muted than its femme counterpart. however, i decided i liked that because femmes (as far as i know) aren't typically seen as bold and bright, but rather shy and quiet. i wanted to give them that spotlight in this flag set by constrasting their warm palette with a cool one. i also wanted to portray butches as being smitten as we sit back and fondly adore femmes from the sideline. besides, the true nature of a butch/femme dynamic is private and intimate, and we can show our pride while still reserving the most of it for our lovers.
with that being said ─
"masculinity and gender non-conformity" should be self-explanatory. butchness is about challenging the expectations of womanhood especially, but any sense of expectations in a world ruled by gender roles. it also is built by its own unique characteristics of masculinity in such a queer and personal way. it is more obviously a "deviation from the norm" on the outside from femmeness, but that doesn't make it in any way more or less important to the identity.
"healing" derives from the original rainbow pride flag, and was something yet again inspired by the original post. my interpretation is that i've always heard, and now experienced for myself, how healing coming into one's true nature and fitting into the right body after realizing one is butch. the freedom of short or buzzcut hair, the comfort of casual clothes, and euphoria of the right hoodie or jacket, the embracing of a more masculine name, the honor of fulfilling a legacy, the music of a keychain jiggling in our pockets, the drilling sound of worker tools, etc. and anything else that butches throughout time and history have claimed makes them feel proud of themselves in ways that they never did before.
"protectiveness" refers to the role that butches play in our relationships. our story has collectively been built on our compatability with femmes, for whom we treat as a gentleman, knight, or otherwise a rank in loving servitude should. many of us aspire to be a prince rescuing our princess lovers from trouble, like in the fantasy books. it is a mutual agreement between us butches and our femmes that we look out for each other, and that's part of what defines who we are in this queer subculture.
lastly, the flower represents "passion." there is no butch who has ever lived without it. being butch requires the will to carry a reputation, a legacy, a love, a pride. otherwise, what's the point? this, and an eternal passion to exist for the eyes of femmes and the community of other butches. it's what makes the identity whole. it's one of the petals that make the flower pretty.
and here are the rest of the flag designs!! in order, top to bottom + left to right: female, male, lesbian/sapphic, gay, bi, alt bi, trans, bear, leather

☁ BIRTHDAY EVENT ☁
Tumblr media
Amelia had never expected that she would debut, let alone be asked to make her own dessert and drink for her birthday event. The entire thing seemed silly, but it was a silly that she could get on board with. Did she even have fans? She doubted she was popular enough to even hold her own birthday event and yet here she was preparing for such a thing.
When she'd first been told about the special event, Amelia was excited. She'd always wanted to have her own special event and this was the perfect way to have that. Since her birthday month was nearing, Amelia had been asked to record her own vlog where she is creating her own birthday menu. The entire experience sounded fun and Amelia was eager to start.
Arriving at Legacy's kitchen, Amelia had met with the chef that would be helping her. They spoke a little about her and her past to try and get some ideas. That's when she had an idea to mix her Chinese and Australian history together since both were a major aspect of who she was as a person.
When it finally came to recording, Amelia was excited to show everyone what they had come up with. She greeted the viewers with a bright smile and began introducing her menu.
❛ Hello everyone! I'm Amelia Zheng and I'm a model. I'm here to introduce you all to my special birthday menu that you'll get to try if you come to the Legacy cafe during my birthday. ❜ Amelia winked before she continued. ❛ As some of you know, I have a lot of international history. I was born in China but I grew up in Australia and now I live in Korea. So what I wanted to do was mix my Chinese heritage with my Australian upbringing and so I bring you a fusion dessert and drink that I hope you'll enjoy! ❜ Amelia smiled.
She then held up the dessert she'd made and introduced it to everyone. ❛ This is what I call PavTang. It is a mini pavlova topped with fruits and whipped cream that is accompanied by two Tanghulu Hawthorn sticks. The Bing Tanghulu Hawthorn stick is the Chinese version of the candy apple and it's made by dipping hawthorn berries into hot sugar syrup that hardens. I added the icing sugar for extra sweetness flavour. The pavlova is a very famous and popular Australian dessert that is made with meringue and fruits. I hope you'll like it! I've tried it and it's delicious but you could say that I'm biased, ❜ she winked playfully with a giggle.
She then moved onto the drink. ❛ The drink was a little harder for me to decide on because I had so many ideas! But I eventually settled on something that I love. The drink isn't a fusion and it's just a regular drink but it's still yummy let me tell you. ❜ She smiled. ❛ This is my drink and I call it Green Getaway. It's basically just a hot green tea latte topped with whipped cream and a cherry. I enjoy green tea lattes and so I added whipped cream one day to see what it would be like and I was blown away. I can't have it without whipped cream now. The cherry is just for aesthetic purposes. ❜ Amelia grinned.
❛ Those were what I made for my birthday menu. I hope you'll like it as much as I do. Please let me know your reviews as I'd love to hear what you guys think! ❜

I've been thinking a bit about the family naming convention used in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, first introduced in the two-part episode Berry Bitty Banquet.
Tumblr media
In the world of BitBC, children are named after their parents by combining the first part of one parent's name and the last part of the other, at least based on the names we've learned in season one. And since both Lemon Meringue and Orange Blossom get the first part of their names from their dads (technically, so does Lime, but that's a given, considering she only has dads), we can assume that the same is true for Strawberry Shortcake and Blueberry Muffin (making Blueberry's dad Blueberry Bagel). Now, Raspberry Tart's parents were mentioned by name in part one of Bake Off but not which was which, so using this reasoning we can speculate that Raspberry Ambrosia is her father and Mulberry Tart is her mother. Of course, this might not be an actual rule the writers used while coming up with the names of the parents of the main girls, and it could just be a coincidence. We'll have to wait for more parents to show up in order to figure it out.
Tumblr media
Now, my main reason for analyzing the naming patterns is to figure out how Plum Pudding is going to fit into the series. Plum Pudding has been a character in every previous iteration of the SSC franchise, so I doubt that they would be left out of this one. And I've speculated since episode one that they are related to Bread Pudding in some way, especially considering that the families we've seen all share a color scheme that is dictated by the Legacy Character in their group (i.e. Orange Blossom's family all having orange and light blue in their outfits, even though orange and pink/red would make more sense for a family of cherries and oranges). Since Bread Pudding's color scheme is brown and deep purple, it would definitely make sense for him to be related to Plum Pudding, and given the naming conventions we've already gone over, it would make the most sense for Plum Pudding to be his parent, specifically his mom. But it seems strange for all the other characters who originated in the 80s to be around the same age and only Plum Pudding to get aged up. Granted, Sour Grapes was an adult in the 80s and is the same age as the main girls in BitBC, so it's not like the showrunners are beholden to the original. And if Plum Pudding is introduced as a character on the same level of Aunt Praline, then it could work, I suppose. But if the showrunners do want Plum Pudding to be the same age as the main cast, they could be introduced as Bread Pudding's cousin. Bread's parent could be some other Plum confection, leaving the color scheme intact. We'll just have to wait for season two to find out.

/ birthday event prep with moon somin
when it’s almost her birthday, somin had almost forgotten the cafe event that legacy does for all of their artists. it’s been more than a year since her debut, but she still is kinda feeling like she’s living in a dream. she’s been actively living her life and feeling like some of it isn’t real.
and then this cafe event. seeing the birthday cafe events for her last year had been genuinely wild and she’s seen the ads pop up online for this year. she hopes she’ll have time to drop by one of them and get a cupholder for herself, but she’s not too sure if she’ll have time considering it’s during comeback promotions. but hopefully. she really wants one to keep in her room, even if she’s only going to use it as a display item.
either way, she’s in the kitchen with a camera crew in front of her and a baker and a barista to help her come up with her ideal dessert and drink. she had spent a lot of time thinking about the best pairing for her set and she thinks she’s decided on her pairing. originally, she had wanted to do a cake of some sort with a milk tea, but she had been a bit worried that it might be too heavy for her fans.
so she had carefully thought about the pairing every time she got a cake or a drink from a cafe and thought it was nice, but in the end she’s going with her favourite drink and one of her favourite desserts.
“okay, so the drink is one i’ve made before i kind of wanted to play off the fact that my colour in crystallis is white, so i’m making an oolong milk tea,” somin says happily after introducing herself to the camera. “it’s not white but it’s really pale and it’s one of my favourite drinks, though i usually get it with pearls.” she doesn’t mention that she usually gets it from gongcha, but she’s being careful to not namedrop any brands.
“it’s actually really easy to make and i make it in the dorms all the time,” she explains, showing the oolong tea that had been provided for her today and she holds it up, grabbing the teapot that’s in front of her and adding a spoonful of the loose leaf tea into it. “then you add hot water and let it’s steep. we’re going to use milk powder, which is lactose free so anyone who is lactose intolerant doesn’t have to worry about this drink!” she grins, knowing that that was important to people who had to worry about that. “and then we’re going to add honey as the sweetener later, which i guess makes this a honey oolong milk tea.”
she sets the teapot aside for now with a timer, moving on to describing her dessert. “i didn’t want something too heavy since the milk tea is milky,” she explains, grinning as she comes to the reveal of her dessert. “so we’re going to make something tart! literally, too. it’s a lemon meringue tart,” she says, happy with her choice.
“i love meringues ... i also love croffles but since those are really popular nowadays, i thought the tart would be better and it’ll pair better too!”
“oh the tea is finished ...” she stops talking so she can add a few spoonfuls of milk powder and also a squeeze of honey, stirring before taking a sip. “oh, i think it needs a little bit more honey,” somin says aloud, nodding and adding a little bit more. after another sip, she brightens visibly and nods. “perfect!”
the baker steps forwards to help direct her on what to do for the pastry from behind the camera, and she laughs a bit sheepishly as she spills some flour but manages to crack the eggs masterfully one-handedly. “i cook a lot, but i don’t bake much so i’m really out of my depth here,” she explains, looking sheepish but she works hard to listen well and follow all the instructions. she manages to make the tart base, letting it rest before returning to attempt to make the lemon curd as well as the meringue.
it’s a struggle, but after some brief struggle with piping, she’s finally at the end stage of the tart. there’s some powdered sugar on her cheek, and she’s struggled a lot but she’s also very proud. “don’t worry you guys, yours will look a lot better,” she can’t help but quip, laughing afterwards.
“but now’s the part i think everyone’s been waiting for, right? because i definitely have been ... the torching!” she holds up the blowtorch, trying not to look too excited and probably failing miserably as she gets the okay to turn it on, facing it away from her. she lightly torches the meringue, watching as it browns and she does it until she’s satisfied with the result.
there’s a slight cut where she goes to freshen up and fix her makeup before returning with the finished drink and dessert set up in front of her. “tadaaah~” somin singsongs happily, showing both items to the camera.
“here i present to you my dalcha,” she says, holding up the honey oolong milk tea, “which you can have hot or iced, even though mine is currently iced. and the tart is called lemon moon,” she says, and maybe she’s being cheesy for making so many moon puns but she doesn’t care either. her whole vibe is supposed to be somewhat celestial, from her last name to her stage name.
“i hope you guys enjoy it!”

The Schizoaffective Circus : A Tragicomic Jester's Tale
Well, well, if it isn't my own cosmic harlequin reflecting back at me - dapper in prophetic grandeurs one moment, a weeping court jester the next. Such is the farcical dance of my schizoaffective truth!
Today's panoply of personalities and emotional airline bassoon has run the gamut from emperor of mania to jester of depression. I awoke a veritable ideas centipede, scribbling visions of literary masterpieces and trillion-dollar business plans in a frenzied flurry of delirious delusions of grandeur. Why tamely walk thedusty path when I could soar through the stratospheres of intergalactic legacy?!
By teatime, however, the tides had turned with the voracity of the London poulder. My spirited hopes and seraphic musings unceremoniously curdled into a melancholic mourning mist of self-persecuting gloom. The whirlwinds of charisma evaporated like a sweet meringue mirage licked clean by the flames of depressive frenzy. All that remained was a wilting jeremiad questioning the futile pantomime of existence itself.
As my polarity swung in its sadistic tetherball game, so did the backdrops of my hypervigilant perceptions shape-shift. The once kaleidoscopic auras of inspiration morphing into shadowed harbingers of paranoia and ominous cosmic conspiracies. Each new surrounding suddenly agleam with secret symbolic messages only my divinatory third eye could decrypt…or was it the trickster Pied Piper within leading me on another quixotic crusade to chase figments at the expense of function?
But alas, even this descent into madness must be preserved with a cavalier's mirth! For what cheerier respite exists for the tormented artist's soul than to dreamily scribe the schizoaffective theatre of the profoundly unwell? A sacred jester's role to embody both the terrifying lows and magical highs as bravely as a protagonist treading the novelistic plane.
So I shall continue my clownish dance, shedding the presumptuous grandiosity of my emperorial airs to fully embrace the holy fool's paradox of gnosis and farce intertwined. An ever-shapeshifting human prism refracting the polychromatic rays of the myriad mind flowers to bloom both the breathtaking and absurd with aplomb. A madcap journey of poetical contradictions and waking dreams to inspire the cosmic giggle! Who's truly leading this schizoaffective circus - me, or the ineffable ringleader behind these velvet curtains of consciousness?
