"Bug? Isn't that you?"
Summary: Han and Y/N had a steamy night, with baby Aera sleeping in the other room. In the heat of the moment when Han marked Y/N, he never realized that it would be evident the next day, so evident that their curious 3 year old asked what it was.
Pairing: Husband!Han X Wife!Y/N
Genre: slightly suggestive, fluff maybe, mentions of baby making
Note: Aera is curious, Han is still a kid. Kim Seungmin (cameo) is a menace as usual. The Han Jisung mentioned here is no where related to the idol Han Jisung and is just a fictional character. Minors DNI please!!!
"Oh Jagiya, what is Aera doing?" asks Han who stepped into the house after a tiring day, turning towards Y/N to engulf her in a tight hug. "She just now went to sleep. You know what your daughter is exactly like you, she sleeps where ever she wishes to. Earlier she was playing with the plushies we bought her, when I came back after washing the dishes, she was on top of the pillow with the plushy squished in between her stomach and the pillow. Poor Quokka must have felt hurt" she says chuckling. "Oh really" he says nudging on her crook. "You smell differently today, anything special?" he asks to which Y/N replies, "Bruh, I reek of baby food, you're daughter eats only leaves and not anything else, just a carbon copy of you to be precise, so maybe that's what is the smell I guess, btw, go change and we'll go to sleep". "How about you accompany me to change cloths, we can experiment wearing different kinds of clothes, or maybe spend a cloth less night, that would be even fun" he suggests. "Han Jisung, I'm already tired, let's not make it worse, please!!!" Y/N pleads with puppy eyes. "Y/N, to think about it, Aera is 3, don't you think, she needs a sibling, maybe a mini Y/N or a mini Han?" "Han, Its already tiring two kids, not just Aera, but you too.... Did you kno....." she suddenly felt her lips feeling warmth, and didn't hesitate a bit to push him forward, instead joined him and held him hugging by his neck, when he picked her up and headed to their bedroom. Due to the growing stage of Aera, the couple who lost intimacy, were high on the process of their drive, and in the due course when Han, started marking Y/N, she warned him about the consequence. "Ha--han, don't do it... Aera..... Aera will a---ask what it is tomorrow, if she finds out", but Han never took a care about it, all he wanted was Y/N and said, "It's okay Y/N, if she asks, I'll explain it to her" and thus the couple had their steamy night.
The next day, "Han Jisung, you brat, look what you did to me, how do you expect me to even step out of the house, never mind about going to work." she yells, looking at the mirror. An awake Aera, enters the room to find her dad shirtless, "Daddy, why aren't you wearing your clothes? Why are they scattered on the floor?" she asks. "Ask, your mom baby!!!" he says, to which Y/N says, "The A/C didn't work here baby, so daddy felt very hot and that's why he removed it" hitting Han. "Yea, hot, very very hot" he says mockingly. She lifts up Aera, to make her sit on the bed, at that moment Aera notices the red marks on her mom's neck and curiosity spikes up in the young mind. "Mommy, why is there a red spot on your neck" she asks, to which Han bursts out laughing. Y/N berates, "Woah, you really have the guts to laugh? Yesterday when I warned you, didn't you say, you will take care of it? Now answer your daughter's doubts, let's see how you tackle them" she says as she sits on the bed. "Baby, that's a mosquito bite" Han says facing Aera, winking at Y/N. "But Daddy, we don't have mosquitoes in her, do we?" she retorts. A confused Han, then proceeds with another idea. "Ah, yesterday it was so hot wasn't it?, so I told Mom to open the windows, and a bug must have come in. It must have been the bug." he said. But little did he know that Aera had other thoughts," Bug? Isn't that you? Don't the uncles call you that?" she asks, where Y/N bursts into laughter, leaving Han flustered. "So you did it, didn't you? Why did you bite mom" she asks. Han who was speechless then, "Baby, who told you I'm a bug" "Uncle Seungmo" she replies. "Why did you bite Mom?" she insisted, "Are you an animal?" she asked. "Your Dad, is an animal, an animal which becomes wild at night. But Aera baby, this is just a bug bite, which will go away, so don't worry" she said. To change the topic she asks Aera,"What does my baby want for breakfast?" and heads to the kitchen to prepare their breakfast, meanwhile she texts Han, "Remember, your daughter is now brilliant, she is growing, she'll keep asking questions like this. One day it wouldn't be shocking if she asks us what was the noise the previous night? That would be really embarrassing and difficult to answer. Touch me next time, and I'll break your hands off. Yesterday I got carried away because of you, and yea thank you for the wonderful night yesterday >.<" she says and all she could hear from the bedroom was a "Welcome Jagiya" which she knew definitely was accompanied by a smirk.

Skz- Before he Confesses
little things they do while they have a crush on you, sfw
maknae line edition- Han, Felix, Seungmin, Jeongin
hyung line
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Han Jisung
tries extra hard to be funny when he's around you
always cracking jokes hoping it'll make you laugh
a little corny at times but still cute
overthinks every joke he made after he left
thinks you'll find him cringey and lowkey gets mad at himself over jokes he thinks were stupid
seeing you laugh makes it so worth it tho
the first time he ever made you laugh he was so happy
that was the moment he completely fell for you
spent the next few weeks daydreaming about having you all to himself so he could make you laugh like that all the time
always stealing glances at his phone when he shouldn't be (during practice, while recording, in meetings, etc) hoping to see a message from you
smiles like an idiot whenever he does get a notif from you
has a photo album of pics of you that he really likes
some of them are candids that he took and some are stolen from your social media
gets lost in your eyes a lot
will literally zone out just admiring you while you're talking
this gets him caught by the members becasue you're the only person they've ever seem him look at like that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Felix
tries to impress you by acting tough and showing off
pulls out the extra deep voice around you
fails at acting tough and it's adorable
like one time when you were watching the members play some sports game he went full try hard mode and all the members were really confused
does the thing where he'll wipe his sweat with the bottom of his t-shirt, purposefully showing off his abs in front of you
always sits near you in group settings
gets sleepy around you because he feels safe when he's with you
when he gets tired he forgets he's supposed to be acting tough to impress you
ends up just being really cute and clingy
falls asleep on your shoulder a lot on drives and when his social battery is drained at group events
always bringing you things he's baked
won't let the members touch the batches he makes just for you
brings you back little things from all the places he travels
befriends your mom with his baking
is so so so happy when your mom says she wants you to marry "a guy like him"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kim Seungmin
i feel like a lot of people say he would tease you a lot if he likes you
but i actually think he'd be exceptionally nice to you
like you're literally the only one he's not an absolute menace to
gets caught so quick by the members because no one has ever seen him be so sweet to someone
lowkey protective over you
you fell asleep in a common area once and he guarded you like his life depended on it
would not let anyone speak or make noise
gave anyone who waked past the nastiest side eye
won't let you walk on the inside of the road
puts his hand over you when the car stops suddenly
pretended to be your boyfriend when a creepy guy wouldn't leave you alone
remembers everything you've ever said to him
you complimented his smile once and he couldn't stop thinking about it
always scheming to "accidentally" create situations where you're hanging out just the two of you
shares his food with you
you are the only one that gets that privilege
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yang Jeongin
gets jealous when he sees you having fun with other members but doesn't do anything about it cuz he doesn't think you'd ever choose him
lowkey has hella rizz but doesn't realize it
does little things to try subtly show you that he'd be a good boyfriend
like he'llfind a flower and tuck it behind your ear
"beautiful, just like you"
or he'll cook your favorite meals to show you that he's boyfriend material
saw you playing with some little kids and his heart absolutely melted
always asks to share your airpods so he can listen to your music
gets really shy and nervous if he sees you looking at him
always looking to make sure you're safe and having fun in group settings
finds excuses to touch you by fixing your jewery or moving your hair out of your face
plays with your claw clips all the time
something about claw clips are just absolutely mesmerizing to this man
tries extra hard with the vocals when he knows you're in the audience
he's singing his heart out just for you :)

not yet (ksm x gn!Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: Seungmin x reader
genres/au/rating: angst, fluff, friends (idiots) to lovers, pg
summary: "Not yet" was a phrase that came to define Seungmin's life for the longest time. Until you came along, and changed everything.
warnings: swearing, kind of fake dating, emotionally stunted Seungmin, kissing, a smol but significant fight, Minho being a menace but also the voice of reason
word count: 2.8k
a/n: this was something cute I wrote on a whim and tell me why my whole heart is fluttering (probably bc Seungmin is bias wrecking me a lot lately). This is me being a space and time nerd on main, but I imagine Seungmin as lowkey a math nerd in this too. it'll make sense when you read! i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
To Kim Seungmin time was always infinite, the universe stretching out like a vast abyss that he sought to understand. He’d grumble when his mother stretched the too-tight party hat around his ears on every birthday growing up. Because what was the point, when every day was a birthday for someone or something?
An infinite series of moments made way for an infinite number of chances, and Seungmin became fearless. Fearless because there was no way he could mess up at life, not when there would always be another chance to try again later.
And so, Seungmin’s favourite phrase, whenever his mother asked him to do anything, was “not yet.”
It was a phrase that came to define his life for the longest time. Until you came along, and changed everything.
Tumblr media
“Seungminnie, don’t you ever get tired of showing up to dinner alone?” his mother laments over the yukgaejang, while Seungmin stares blankly at her, unable to comprehend her question. What did she mean, alone? The whole point of family dinners was so he wouldn’t have to resort to eating ramen in the dim light of his own apartment, or risk begging Minho for home-cooked food, fearing the smirk on his older roommate’s face.
As if on cue, the doorbell sounds, and Seungmin is the first one up, spoon clattering on the table and stew abandoned. Within a few strides, he’s swinging the door open, only to be met with burning in his nose and scratching in his throat, the tell-tale signs of a sneeze making themselves known.
Your face peeks out from behind the flowers, flustered and eyes growing wide with concern.
“Damn it, I thought you wouldn’t be allergic to these ones,” you whine, and Seungmin sniffles, ushering you inside. “Sometimes I think you’re faking it, Minnie.”
“___!” his mother runs to the door at the sound of your voice, nearly smushing the bouquet as she wraps you in the biggest hug. “We haven’t seen you in so long, I made extra yukgaejang, come!”
And as she leads you by the hand into the dining room, Seungmin hangs back, a smug smile on his face. The universe had his back, once again.
The dinner table conversation turns lively once again, his parents and sister pestering you with updates about your life in the city, like you and Seungmin aren’t still attached at the hip like you were when you were children.
There’s a lull in the conversation, silence falling over the table with only the clanging of utensils to fill the void, broken only by a heavy sigh. Seungmin knows what’s coming next, and so do you, judging by the way you sink into your seat.
“I always thought the two of you would end up together,” his mother blurts out, tears forming in her eyes.
You pat her on the back, dancing around her confession, telling her you’ll always be ready to show up uninvited to dinner as long as there’s an extra bowl of yukgaejang waiting, and all Seungmin can do is stare into his bowl.
No matter how many times he reminded her that you were just friends, that the realistic probability of you and Seungmin dating moved closer and closer to zero the older you grew, she stubbornly refused to give up hope.
She’d throw it back in his face, repeating his favourite phrase. “Not yet.”
And Seungmin couldn’t tell her maybe some things were just meant to never come to life.
Tumblr media
The two of you walk back towards your apartments in silence, your shadows dancing on the sidewalk, creating a far livelier scene than the comfortable silence that exists between you.
Seungmin doesn’t notice you’ve fallen behind until he’s at least ten paces ahead of you, turning back to see your lonely figure under a streetlight, staring up at the stars. He resists the normal impulse in his brain to leave you behind, knowing you’ll catch up, and instead backtracks, stopping to stand next you.
“Do you really think it’d be so bad?” you ask the darkness, not turning to meet Seungmin’s eyes. “If we were to actually date?”
Seungmin’s mind is sent reeling at your confession, the neat box in which he’d compartmentalized your relationship suddenly bursting open, exploding with chaos.
“We’re getting older, Minnie,” you ponder. “Don’t you ever feel like you’re running out of time?”
Seungmin’s face darkens, and he knows he can’t answer the question without hurting your feelings. Because to him, time was never something he’d run out of. If he fucked something up, there’d always be something new, something better waiting for him on the horizon.
“You shouldn’t think like this, ____,” he breathes out. “You just haven’t found the right person yet.”
The two of you are sitting on the sidewalk now, long legs hanging off the curb. Seungmin instinctively pulls you into his side, making sure your body is shielded from any stray passerby that happen to be inhabiting the sidewalk or the wild people in the bike lane.
“It’s always yet, Seungmin, but what about now? What are we doing with our lives?”
Seungmin’s never thought about now. He’s thought about the past, like the time he showed up to your house on your 16th birthday, a copy of your favourite novel clutched behind his back. Only to go ungifted when you’d barreled into his arms, raving over the used car your parents had gotten. He’d thought a lot about the future, the two of you going on to end up with faceless partners, settling down in houses whose walls he couldn’t picture, kids whose names he hadn’t thought out, maybe a dog or a cat.
But he never stopped to think about the present, and looking into your eyes, he remembers exactly why. It terrified him, the faint glistening of tears, the way your breathing sped up, your fists clenching and unclenching. And he’d never had good advice to give, just always ranting on about how “tomorrow is a new day.”
Seungmin bows his head, long strands of hair falling into his face, hopes you don’t see the way his own lip quivers when he thinks about right now, the two of you sitting on a city sidewalk, together but still lonely.
“Okay,” he manages to choke out, and your head whips around in shock.
“What do you mean, okay?” you sniffle, and Seungmin pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Let’s do it. Let’s try dating.”
He feels your body go still next to him, arm going limp when you suddenly decide to let go, hoisting yourself up.
“Minnie, I was just kidding when I said that. You don’t have to date me if you don’t want to.”
“Who said I didn’t want to? I mean try, at least?” Seungmin rises up to his feet, heart thundering at the blank look on your face. “If we try and it doesn’t work, there’s always another chance, right?”
Your face twists in a strange expression, so brief Seungmin could have almost imagined it, before you let out a dazzling smile, one Seungmin thinks rivals even the brightest star he sees in the sky tonight.
“Right.”
Tumblr media
“You’re actually fucking insane,” Minho mumbles through a mouth stuffed full with dumplings, stealing the container away when Seungmin reaches over with his chopsticks. “I shouldn’t be offering you food, I should be signing you up for therapy.
“Everybody always wants ____ and I to end up together,” Seungmin grumbles, snatching a dumpling anyway, much to Minho’s dismay. “Now that we actually decide to date, it’s suddenly a problem?”
“Dating isn’t some science experiment, okay!” Minho grows flustered, the tips of his ears turning red. “It involves real people, and real feelings! Have you even asked ____ if they’re okay with this?”
You were fine, Seungmin convinced himself.  In fact you’d been exceedingly chipper, brighter than usual, chatting about anything and everything under the sun. It gave Seungmin confidence that maybe this could work. That maybe things didn’t have to change between you two, because maybe you’d been right for each other all along and he’d just missed it.
His phone vibrates with a text from you, and Seungmin is shoving the last dumpling in his mouth, ignoring Minho’s disapproving look as he throws his coat over his shoulders, bounding down the stairs to meet you outside his apartment.
“Want to go to a coffee shop—” the air is knocked out of your lungs when Seungmin crushes you in a hug, your fists banging on his back to let you go ten seconds later. Your face is flushed, an eyebrow raised in confusion, and Seungmin thinks you’ve never looked prettier.
“Isn’t that what couples do when they see each other?” Seungmin asks innocently, only to be met with a sigh.
“You’re paying for my coffee today,” you grumble.
Tumblr media
Dating you is easier than Seungmin imagined — the years of friendship provided enough experience in how to spend time together, but now he gets to tell everyone that you’re together together. He thinks his mother’s joyful scream nearly splits his eardrums the moment she finds out, rushing to the phone to dial up your own mother. The conversation between them lasts a good hour and a half, and a smile pricks at Seungmin’s lips at the pride in her voice.
He gets to catch you off guard by randomly deciding to pay for your smoothie, or to wrap an arm lazily around your waist when you’re talking to someone, the subtle squeak in your voice sending his heart aflutter.
Dating you is everything Seungmin could have imagined and more, because those infinite moments he’d always thought about, are moments spent making you laugh at his deadpan jokes, moments spent clinging to your back, begging you to make him some food since Minho stubbornly refuses to, and he thinks there’s no way he could mess this up.
Until he kisses you. The two of you are cuddled up on the couch, the soft soundtrack of the film you’d chosen together lulling Seungmin to sleep in your lap, his eyes heavy-lidded. It’s when your leg shifts that Seungmin wakes up, sleepy eyes blinking up at you, only to realize your hand is resting against his cheek, thumb softly stroking his skin. He wonders if the stars in your eyes are from the reflection of the movie on the screen, or whether they mirror the ones in his own.
Seungmin moves without thinking, his forehead collapsing against your own, and he feels your surprised gasp against his cheek before his lips are brushing against yours softly. Warmth blooms where your fingertips still rest on his cheek, lighting up his entire body with an unspoken feeling.
He breaks away from you, still holding you close, but the smile that grazes his lips is gone as soon as it appeared, your downcast face in front of him. Seungmin waits one second, then two, then a whole minute, but it feels like an infinity while he wills you to meet his eyes.
“I can’t do this Minnie,” you finally whisper, your voice bubbling and breaking, a lone tear streaming down your face.
“I don’t understand,” the words feel heavy on Seungmin’s tongue, like he’s numb and struggling to get them out. It was just one moment, there’d be another that followed, but how could everything have gone wrong?
“I can’t keep pretending like this doesn’t mean something to me,” you finally let go of his hoodie, and Seungmin felt the cold he hadn’t noticed before seep in. “To you, this is all infinite, like it’s always been. There’s always a yet, because every moment is temporary. It’s meaningless when you have tomorrow to worry about, right? Wondering where we’ll go on our next date or what random thing you’ll do next to knock the breath out of me?”
“But this,” you continue. “Right here, right now, it isn’t just something to me. It’s everything. It’s everything because I love you and because I’ve always loved you and because you’ve never been able to see that in your infinity, there has to be some kind of beginning and end. And you’re it for me. But I’ll never be enough for you.”
Seungmin wants to tell you you’re wrong, that he’s stopped thinking about infinity and mere moments, because he realized the same thing, that he never started actually paying attention to time until he met you, and you injected all the moments of his life with meaning. But the words that come out instead are wrong, so wrong.
“You’ll get another chance,” he watches you flinch at his words, rushing to slip on your shoes. You linger at the door, hand twisting around the doorknob. “You just haven’t met the right person yet.”
The knob clicks, and the door slams. And Seungmin is left alone, in the vast abyss of his infinity once more.
Tumblr media
Minho spares him the lecture, and Seungmin is grateful. He doesn’t need to hear the “I told you so”, doesn’t need to face his mother’s concerned face when she asks why you haven’t been coming by lately. The loneliness cuts into him like a knife, and he wonders if the imaginary future he’d dreamed of all his life would be enough to take the pain of right now away.
The weather grows colder, and Seungmin’s heart freezes along with it. Time stretches out before him as he looks at his phone, waiting for a call or a text, teasing him, threatening him, as if to say - don’t you wish you had enough?
He spends his days staring out the window, watching the world pass by around him, realizing he’s tired of moving alongside it without you by his side. And then the snow begins to fall, a few flakes to start out, until it turns into a sea of white, and he can’t even see outside anymore.
The door clicks softly behind him, Minho’s voice echoing behind him while he stomps the snow from his boots.
“It’s really coming down out there,” Minho pauses, his voice clipped. “I saw ____ at the grocery store just now.”
Seungmin’s head whips around at the mention of you, but Minho, ever the menace, keeps his mouth shut, not knowing whether the next sentence that leaves his mouth will send Seungmin spiralling or not.
It’s silent between them for a few moments, Minho putting away his food in the kitchen cupboard, while Seungmin runs through endless scenarios in his head about whether you’re happy or sad, whether you’re doing fine or falling apart, whether leaving tore your heart in pieces as much as it did his.
And that’s when he spots it, tucked between the cushions of the couch. Your scarf, blue patterned and worn. You must have left it the last time you were here.
Seungmin knows that rationally, you’d probably have a backup scarf. Knows that rationally, with how much he’d chewed your head off about the future, that you’d have planned ahead.
But you’d never been the rational one.
Minho jumps in surprise when Seungmin leaps to his feet, yanking the scarf out from the couch.
“It’s cold outside,” Seungmin breathes out, and Minho raises an eyebrow. “Right now. Right now it’s cold outside, and ___ left their scarf here, and they, and I– shit!”
He’s running out the door before Minho can stop him, your scarf against his chest like it’s a lifeline.
. . .
He sees you just outside the grocery store, struggling with the heavy load of groceries you’d bought for the storm. The tiny shiver that rakes down your spine is enough to send him running your way.
“Seungmin?” you call out to him in shock, seeing his frantic figure bound towards you in the snow.
“Your scarf,” he heaves, shoving the crumpled fabric into your hands. “You left your scarf.”
“Minnie,” you can’t help the nickname that slips out. “It’s okay, I have another one for next time–”
“This isn’t about next time,” Seungmin interrupts you, wrapping his arms around you, not caring that you drop your bags into the snow. “This is about right now. And right now it’s snowing.”
“Yeah,” your breath comes out in a fog. “It is.”
“And right now,” Seungmin’s voice cracks, unshed tears filling his eyes. “Right now I love you. I think I probably always have and I probably always will, but that doesn’t matter. You’re my past, you’ll be my future, and I hope you’ll be mine, right now in this moment.”
“What about not yet? The infinite possibilities of the universe?” You whisper, clutching his coat while he wraps the scarf around you.
“The universe is infinite because you’re at the center of it - an infinite number of ways to make you smile, to be whatever you need, to tell you I love you. You’re the beginning and the end, and everything in between.”
Your lips are crashing onto his, mouths colliding messily through the veil of your tears, and Seungmin never wants to let go. When you break apart, it’s to lay your head on his chest.
“Come home with me,” he whispers into your hair. “Let me make you some tea.”
You shake your head, burrowing into Seungmin’s neck, humming your response.
“Not yet.”

kinktober !
Tumblr media
kink: knifeplay
pairing: kim seungmin x fem!reader
wc: 3k
knifeplay: consensual BDSM edgeplay involving knives, daggers, and swords as a source of stimulation.
It was perfect. You had fake blood all over your room, staining your once blue sheets, but the costume was perfect.
For Halloween, your friends had decided to host a party at one of the dorms. You and your best friend, Jeongin, had decided it would be the best idea to dress up as Sidney Prescott and Ghostface. Your costume was quite easy - you already had an old denim jacket you could cover in blood, and a basic lilac top to go underneath it. When put together with a simple black pair of jeans, you felt completely ready. Your costumes were going to be the best.
The Instagram pictures would be amazing, too, you decided while walking to the party. You didn’t have a long way to walk, and it was quite amusing listening to the kids screaming for candy outside people’s doors - but all you could hope was that one of the members of 3Racha had actually cleaned the dorm this time, and not left it all on Hyunjin.
Music was already booming when you arrived, reverberating around your sober brain and making you wince. Would you regret coming here?
You realised you really did regret it, when the front door swung open and you were met with fox-like eyes in a… a fucking Pokemon trainer costume. Felix emerged from behind him, sharp yellow ears perched on his head and his cheeks covered in red.
“Listen,” Jeongin began, gloved hand reaching out to you. You sighed, shutting your eyes. “It was Felix’s idea. Look at him. He’s really convincing, and I’m sorry I didn’t text, but Chan’s put this stupid no phone ban on and-”
“Look!” Felix chirped, and when you finally saw him… well, you understood what Jeongin meant. He was in yellow dungarees, tail wrapped on a string around his waist and little ears bobbing with his glee. When he looked at you, his face fell. “Oh. Oh, I’m so sorry. Did you guys have something planned, or-”
“No, not at all, Lixie,” You murmured, pulling him in for a hug. He really was so cute. No one could resist him. “I’ll find my Ghostface somewhere.”
Felix nuzzled into the hug, wrapping his arms around you, before he was squealing. “Seungmin’s dressed up as Ghostface! Oh, Innie, did you plan this?”
You blinked, turning to Jeongin. Seungmin was your arch nemesis, but only purely on the basis that you both had some heavily unresolved sexual tension.  Jeongin wouldn’t do this to you - or so you thought, because when you looked at his face, he was looking extremely guilty. “I know you have some… issues, but it needs to end now. It’s making things awkward, and, and… you can take pictures together, y’know? Then be friends,” He was mumbling, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. His Pokemon hat obscured most of his face, but you could still see the pout on his lips. Fuck this. You had the two sweetest men in front of you apologising, expecting you to be angry at them, but even you weren’t that mean.
You sighed, finally pushing past the two figures to enter the party. You were immediately attacked by a black plastic streamer dangling from the ceiling, and you swatted it away with a grunt. “It’s fine. Let’s do the pictures, then.”
It had always been the plan - to take pictures all together before the party really got into full swing. You had a feeling you’d been a little late because there were already quite a few people there. Still, you diligently walked into the kitchen behind Felix and Jeongin anyway, where everyone was standing around, conversing.
There he was. Ghostface mask pulled halfway off of his head to reveal dark, menacing features and a black cloak draped over his slender figure. Chunky black boots made an echoing noise as he tapped his foot impatiently on the tile, sipping out of a glass with one gloved hand and the other holding - a knife. It glinted in the light as he spun it around with his fingers, playing way too comfortably with the blade. Oh. Oh, no. Someone was playing a practical joke on you.
“Is that knife real?” You squeaked, and Seungmin turned to you with a glare. “Like, it’s not a prop…? Why do you have a real knife?”
Seungmin raised an eyebrow, then his lips were curling upwards with a smile. “To finally kill you with.”
“Haha, that’s so funny,” You deadpanned, but half of you was considering if he was being genuine about it. It wouldn’t surprise you - he was a sadistic fuck, always had been since you met him. It was why you wanted him so bad. “Let’s take these pictures. I’m already over it.”
Felix fiddled with his camera, flicking off the lens cap and trying to get it in the perfect position on the counter. You scurried in front of Seungmin as he walked over after placing his cup aside. Once Felix had set the timer, he ran in front of the lens and clutched onto Jeongin. Oh, yeah. What was Seungmin supposed to do, given that you were matching?
You had your answer quickly. With one gloved hand, he pulled his mask down and pulled you into him by the waist, and then he was positioning the knife at your exposed collarbone. It nipped teasingly, the blade threatening to draw blood. You looked down in shock, only to see Seungmin’s hand confidently holding the handle - god, was he skilled with this? He hadn’t killed people, hopefully, but… what if he was into something like this?
Wetness pooled in your panties at the thought. It’s a kink straight out of your deepest, darkest desires. The idea of being too scared to move in case the knife bites at your skin, dripping crimson liquid down your body only to be lapped up by the blade again… yeah. It was hot, and for some reason, with your fake-enemy pressed against you, it was even hotter. You didn’t even blink when the flash went off, too focused on trying to keep your breaths even.
Seungmin dropped his hand once the picture was taken, and then he yanked the mask back again. He was staring at you with a bewildered expression, but he looked somewhat impressed. Pulling you to one side by your arm, he gripped your waist again, trapping you against the wall so he could whisper into your ear. “Did you get turned on when I held that knife to your neck?”
“No, what’s wrong with you-“
“I heard you holding your fucking breath,” Seungmin hissed. “That’s fucking insane, you know? Dressing up as Sidney and then getting all… like that. It’s like you wanted me to do it.”
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. Seungmin’s eyes flitted around your face. “I was actually meant to match with Jeongin, so maybe I wanted him to.”
“Oh, c’mon,” Seungmin scoffed, rolling his eyes. He pinched his temples, and then he sighed. “I know you want to fuck me. God, I want to fuck you too, so bad. I’m sick of playing this stupid push and pull when I could be upstairs fucking you with this knife to your neck right now.”
Your eyes widened. You let out a puff of air, trying to find the words to say, but you only noticed that fuck, Seungmin was awfully close all of a sudden. His breath was heavy on your burning cheeks. When you looked around the room, you could see that no one had noticed the two of you - Felix was too busy still jumping around and Changbin and Jisung had dressed as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. You wanted to coo at Changbin, his bulging arms so adorable in the little green dress and wings, but you were definitely more engrossed in what Seungmin had to say.
“The party. We can’t leave, you know?” You finally spoke, and Seungmin pulled back. You wanted to cry. He looked around the room, nodding, before he was pulling the mask back onto his face and obscuring his annoyingly perfect features.
“Half an hour. Jisung’s room, upstairs. Is that alright with you?” His voice was muffled, and you had to crane your head a bit to hear him. You nodded nonetheless, and he gave you a quick wave before disappearing into the crowd of dressed up men.
You sighed heavily. This was about to be the longest half an hour of your life.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
Jisung’s room was chaotic. You had literally no idea why Seungmin had decided on his room out of everyone’s - surely Hyunjin’s would be better, or even Chan’s with the mood lighting? You opened the door anyway, entering the small room and stepping over piles of clothes to lay back on the bed. At least the bedsheets were cleaned. Jisung’s lamp was the only source of light, leaving the room basked in a creepy orange Halloween atmosphere. It definitely fitted the setting.
It had been exactly half an hour. Seungmin was late. Was he ever late? In your whole pseudo-friendship, you were sure he’d never been late, and-
The door burst open and a masked figure emerged. You jolted, sitting upright on your hands and blinking at the man in costume. It briefly crossed your mind that you couldn’t even be sure it was Seungmin, and then he was tearing the mask off, throwing it aside.
“It’s still me,” He said, tone soft. Was he a mind reader as well as a borderline psychopath? You nodded, wiggling forward on the bed when he sat across from you. “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Did you bring the knife?” You responded. Seungmin burst out laughing, and then he was bringing it out from his jean pocket, beneath the cloak.
“You are very fucked up. Has anyone ever told you that?” He murmured. You stared at his gloved palms as he threw the knife aside, moving on the bed to pin you down against the mattress. You wiggled impatiently, spreading your legs to allow him between them. Your chest heaved, staring up at him with doe eyes as he blinked down at you.
“‘M not fucked up,” You mumbled, pouting. Seungmin chuckled.
“What was it Billy said in the movie again? ‘It certainly fucked you up, it made you have sex with a psychopath’? Is that not what’s happening right now, baby?” His breath was hitting your face again, and you just couldn’t help it this time. With one hand on the back of his neck, you pulled him down, pressing your lips against his in the filthiest kiss you’d ever shared. Seungmin groaned, hands meeting your waist and delving into your mouth with his tongue. You let him nibble into your bottom lip, let him nearly draw blood with his teeth until you were whining, bucking your hips up for more.
You whined, chasing his lips for more kisses. You heard fabric rustling, and then Seungmin was pressing an ice cold blade to your neck. You shifted immediately, laying back against the pillow and looking up at Seungmin obediently. He just smiled, appearing borderline menacing in the dim lighting of the room. You were so fucking wet.
“You do get off on this,” Seungmin mused. He leaned back on his ankles, letting the knife drag down your body. With a clean swipe, it was cutting through the fabric of your tank top and leaving you in just your bra. “Should I make you bleed, hm?”
“You can- you can do anything you want, Seungmin,” You sighed, arching your back to get more of the feeling of the blade against you. Seungmin bit his lip, dragging the blade down to your jeans. He wouldn’t be able to cut through that fabric - it’s too thick, he’d need something sharper. You could practically see the cogs turning in his head and then he was shaking his head, unbuttoning your jeans and yanking them down your legs. They balanced precariously on one ankle, and you kicked them off before eyeing Seungmin up and down. “Are you… gonna get naked, or?”
“I have different plans for tonight,” Seungmin replied quickly. He gripped the knife firmer this time, until he was dragging it down to your underwear. You knew you were wet, and you shut your eyes and moaned loudly when he pressed the blade into the wet spot forming in the fabric. You thanked every god that the music was still just as loud as earlier. “I’m going to finger you and play around with this knife. I don’t think you could handle more tonight.”
He was right. Another thing that irritated you beyond belief was the fact that Seungmin seemed to read your mind. First with your silly knife play kink, and now with the fact that you definitely couldn’t handle full blown sex tonight. You would’ve tried, and gotten yourself all fuzzy over it - but he knew better.
“Okay,” You agreed. He hummed once more, and then he hooked the blade into the lace of your underwear, cutting them off of your body. He was a bit heavy handed though, and your legs thrashed when the blade nicked your skin just a little, causing a small crimson red cut to bloom on your hip bone.
“Oh, would you look at that?” He ogled the cut, running his thumb over it. It made you whine in pain, yet he ignored you and thrust his thumb into your mouth. The taste was tangy, a bit too metallic for your liking but the whole thing was so fucking hot you couldn’t deny him anything. “Did you like that, too? Okay. We’ll explore that another time.”
Seungmin threw the knife aside once more, and then two long fingers were pressing into your folds. You laid there with legs spread, letting him explore every dip and crevice in your pussy and examine how wet you were. You knew you were dripping, and he did too - it was just a waiting game.
You squirmed, bucking your hips up. “I’m wet enough. I promise that I am, just-“
You gasped when he pressed the knife against your throat again. You hadn’t even seen him grab it. “Stay fucking still,” He warned. “I decide when you’re ready.”
Well, you could definitely get on board with that. Seungmin sunk his middle finger into you nonetheless, meeting no resistance. Your hole was dripping around him, leaking down to his knuckle and making him sigh in approval at the sight. He still had his gloves on, the faux leather buttery and smooth inside of your hole. “This pussy’s tight, huh?”
“I’d clench it for you,” You breathed out, letting one of your hands grab your tits over your bra. The knife was still pressed tightly against the column of your throat, but you managed to pull your tits out of the lace, making Seungmin’s eyes instantly flit down to your pebbled nipples. He started to thrust his finger inside of you, the material of his gloves dragging on your rim. “I’d- I’d clench around your cock, Seungie. Make it so tight for you.”
“Yeah?” Seungmin breathed. On his next thrust in, he pushed another finger in, and then he was curling two directly at that lovely spongy spot inside of you. “I’ll look forward to it, baby. Do my fingers feel good?”
“So good,” You gushed, tweaking your nipples with your fingers. “It’s so good, and- the knife, oh god-“
“Is it like you imagined, yeah?” He moved up to your side, easing his pressure on the blade so you could turn your head and kiss him. It was just as filthy, and he moaned in approval when your walls fluttered around his digits. When he pulled away, a string of saliva connected you both. “Maybe next time, I’ll fuck you with the handle of the knife.”
You keened, starting to bounce your hips against his hand. He obliged with your movements, pressing his palm up against your clit and letting you grind the sensitive bud into his calloused hand. It was just the right amount of soft and rough, making your toes curl in your socks and your orgasm build steadily, a white hot pleasure in your pussy.
“It’s- I need it-“
“God, do you even know what you need?” Seungmin chuckled, kissing your cheek. “I think you need to cum for me, don’t you?”
You nodded erratically, letting your head fall onto his shoulder. Seungmin dropped the knife to his opposite side once more, replacing it with a firm grip to your throat with his spare hand. The sight of his gloved digits around your throat and restricting your airflow had you wailing once more, gripping his wrist and grinding with renewed fervour.
“I think- oh, I’m gonna cum,” Your lips parted, letting out muted moans and whines at the feeling of his fingers inside of you. “Oh, yeah, I’m gonna cum!”
“Cum for me then, no need to make a noise,” Seungmin was still amused, and you gasped before you were cumming. “That’s it, there you go.”
You felt your hole gush around his fingers, soaking the material of his gloves with white cum and your clit throbbing through your orgasm. It felt good, not only to cum but to also finally have some tension resolved with such a prominent person in your life.
When you finally came to, you were still gasping, breath heavy and burning your lungs with every exhale. You heard Seungmin coo at you, laying back and dragging you onto his chest.
“Good?” He questioned, and you nodded.
Then, something hit you. “Seungmin?” He hummed in response. “You cut my shirt open. What do I wear for the rest of the party?”
Seungmin stopped breathing, and then he burst out laughing, full body laughs wreaking havoc on his body.
“It’s not funny!” You whined, but you were giggling too, slapping his chest playfully.
“You can wear the cloak, baby,” He kissed your nose. “I have clothes on underneath.”
You hummed, nodding. “You still have to wear the mask though.”
“Fuckin’ freak,” He mumbled, but he was still grinning.
“You like it.”
Seungmin kissed you again, chaste and sweet. “Unfortunately, yes.”

Tumblr media
You were standing at the crossroads between love and absolute sin. And somehow, Seungmin was the bridge to both of those things at once. You counted almost five orgasms that night.
The first time, he teased and edged you through your panties, with skillful fingers. He was spooning you, his breath hot on your neck as he kissed it every once in a while, encouraging you, humming along to every sound escaping your lips; as if he was agreeing with you about how good it feels. Rubbing your pussy and clit, stopping every few seconds to make sure you don't cum too early, Seungmin was making you feel so good and so safe.
Unfortunately the edging didn't last very long because through your panties, he couldn't quite grasp how close you are. You came, relaxing into putty into his warm grasp.
"We're continuing, right?" He asked you, to make sure. Of course you were continuing. Your appetite was barely awakening, and you needed so much more from him. You were craving every single thing that you knew only Seungmin could grant you.  Nodding sheepishly at him, you turned to watch him fish out your vibrator from the drawer.
You and Seungmin had somewhat of an agreement. A mind-blowing sex agreement.
You've known him for years; worked on assignments with him, met him again at a part time job, got wasted with him a couple times, shared with him your deepest secrets. And one day you told him: that you have a fascination with certain kinks and that you wished you had someone to explore them with.
"I can do that." Is what he replied with and you didn't know if you were supposed to be laughing, crying, mortified or excited. There was definitely a spark, a connection between you and Seungmin since day one - in the idea that you had impeccable teamwork in whatever you worked at together. And he was, of course, very attractive, kind and a great person overall - when he wasn't being a menace. However, your kinks needed exactly that, for him to be a menace to you. You wanted to be edged, teased, overstimulated and tortured with pleasure until you couldn't think straight. And Seungmin took up the challenge.
So after the first orgasm, he brought out your bullet vibrator and, without even taking off your clothes, he placed it inside your panties, turned it on and pressed it onto you, making sure the panties were keeping it in place. The vibrations began to deliciously settle into your nerves, and Seungmin was moving the vibrator up and down to stimulate you as intensely as possible. The air grew hot very fast, and soon your hips were moving with a mind of their own to chase after that vibrator. You were struggling; clearly wanting it - wanting to cum again, you were craving it desperately. Seungmin was heavily amused watching you.
He made such a self discovery by volunteering to help you out. He liked it, a lot. He wasn't sure if he liked this kind of kinks in general (because he gets to tease as much as he wants) or he likes it because it's you. When he finds the courage to, he'll realize it's actually you he likes the most.
"C-cumming!" You warned him, and he was woken out of his thoughts. You orgasmed again, thighs shaking. He climbed further up your body, pulling your pants and panties down to grab the vibrator, which he pushed even tighter into your puffy clit to overstimulate you. You cried out, physically trying to fight him off with shaking, hip jerking and your nails burying into his arms. But he wasn't planning on stopping, dragging that sharp pleasure on and on, whimper after whimper sounding from you as you rolled your head on the pillow frantically.
It was so hot. Your body was so hot. Like your engines were overheating, like there was suddenly no more air to grasp onto. It was torturous, but pleasurable in unexplainable ways.
He didn't let the device slip even for one second, taking off all of your clothes with just one hand, including your shirt that was beginning to stick to your skin.
He could look at your pussy now. Really look at it, watch it twitch - the wet, leaking mess it had become. Your juices were sticking to the vibrator, making slick noises as Seungmin continued to play with you. Suddenly, he maneuvered the vibrator in his hand in such a way that it was extremely lightly grazing your clit, instead of pressing into it like it was before. It was a completely different kind of pleasure now, one that wasn't so hot and thick, it was light and ticklish, and it was replenishing your hunger for another orgasm.
"You're so slutty." Seungmin mumbled, and then he looked directly into your eyes. A pang of pleasure shot through your body at the eye contact, especially because he licked his lips. He was parched, hungry - not for food or water though, for you. His hard on was becoming uncomfortable. "I love it." He continued. "I love how slutty you are." He was still moving the vibrator up and down, very lightly rubbing your clit and letting the vibrations do the rest. His fingers were beginning to feel numb from holding it for so long. "God, look at you. So wet." You have no idea how, but he got you close to a third orgasm. "You're so sexy. I could watch you forever." He kissed your knee, your thigh, left feather light kisses on your belly. You wanted to caress him, grab him up and kiss his lips, but you were doomed to tightly grasp the bedsheets.
So close. So, so close. The pleasure sharpened and sharpened, until it finally freed you. You came again, but this time around he just helped you ride out your orgasm, body shaking and arching, legs locking around his body. Then, he turned off the vibrator. Your chest heaved, your head dizzy and ears muffled.
He moved up your body, leaving pecks on your chest, neck and then all over your face. You giggled, hand slightly shaking as you finally tangled it in his hair. You turned towards him, being met with the most beautiful, chocolate puppy eyes. They were full of admiration. He locked lips with you, in a quick but soft kiss that spoke volumes to you.
Kissing was never off of the table in your arrangement with Seungmin. Weirdly.
"Are we feeling good?" He asked you.
"Mhm." You hummed happily.
"Want more?"
"Yes, please. Need it inside." You were insatiable. You kissed Seungmin again and he couldn't help but smirk.
Crawling between your legs again, he watched your arousal leak out of your patiently waiting hole. He pushed two fingers in, curling them to chase after your gummy wall. You moaned, as if you were waiting to moan that whole night. You could finally feel it, that sweet drag inside of you. He opened you up, pushing his fingers against your walls, then began to pump them in and out, his palm slapping into your clit with every thrust. But it wasn't enough, it just wasn't. Your body was beyond sensitive, and it wanted something bigger, something more substantial.
As if he could read your mind, he got up from the bed, the loss of his fingers leaving you feeling empty. He took his clothes off and grabbed a condom, struggling to roll it around his raging hard on. He waited so patiently for this, and laughed maniacally at the string of whines and moans leaving you as he rubbed the tip of his cock against your swollen clit.
"So greedy and so eager." He teased and you nodded, biting your lip. He took that as challenge, softly fucking his tip inside of your hole. "Don't worry, I'll give you what you want and more."
It already felt heavenly when he was just fucking you with the tip. But then - then he pushed himself in deeper, and deeper. He went slow at first, dragging his hard, hot and heavy dick between your walls. You could feel him in every inch of you, in your body, in your mind, and in your soul. You were so wet, squelching so loud as he moved, that he was able to glide in you so easily, with absolutely no pain. He grabbed your hips to adjust you on his dick, lifting them in an angle.
"Help me find your spot, baby." He asked, and you shimmied your hips in his grasp, arching and angling yourself so that his dick was hitting you right where you wanted it. Like the obedient puppy he is, he began to pound into your g-spot, eventually his hand landing on your clit to rub it. Overwhelmed, your body began to burn, body shaking terribly as all of your senses overloaded. Feeling you clench so hard and shake, Seungmin slowed down, thinking you came.
"Did you come?"
"I don't know." You whined. "My body is so sensitive, I can't even think anymore." Even though you were whining and mewling, you were smiling; and so happy to be at Seungmin's mercy. You were never this intimate and vulnerable with anyone before.
"Do you want us to stop?" You definitely didn't want him to stop. He spent way too little time fucking you. Your walls were still craving the push of his cock.
"No, not yet. I'm not satisfied yet." For a second, he looked at you like you were crazy. But then a look of worry replaced it.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." From worried, he went right back to cheeky as he heard the lust in your voice. What a demoness you were.
"My naughty princess." He whispered into your neck.
Yes, you were a little crazy to want more when your thighs were shaking with every thrust. But that's something he loved about you.
How crazy you were.
Wrapping his arms around you tightly, Seungmin spun you two around so that you'd be on top. With a sparkle of mischief in his eyes, he watched you move to find your preferred riding position, giving him a view of your body, that he found to be so beautiful, so perfect. Sweat was rolling down your sides, and that tortured and passionate look in your eyes was driving him insane.
You couldn't quite make yourself cum. You tried, riding him, hands pressing hardly into his chest, into his very heart, rubbing your clit with desperation as you moved. But it wasn't good enough, so he decided to help you by thrusting up into you. You collapsed into his chest at the pleasure, and he rolled you around again, to be on top and retake the lead. Lifting one of your legs up for better access to drill your hole, he decided it was about time to wrap up.
Like the absolute maniac he was, he grabbed the vibrator again and showed it to you.
"May I?" So courteous. It was pissing you off.
"You may - hnng!" Seungmin knew this was the most certain way to make you see stars. It took a couple of seconds, too. All he had to do was thrust a couple of times, let the vibrator go wild on your clit and you were convulsing, screaming, clawing at him.
He kept going through your orgasm, chasing after his own high while you were in hyper-drive, clenching so tight around him your pussy might as well swallow him whole.
"Color?"
"Ah, yellow-!" It was a simple system, really. Green meant go, yellow meant it was almost too much, and red meant stop.
"Can I finish and wrap up?" As if you were crazy enough to ask for another one after all this. But even if you did, he wouldn't agree to it. Yellow is enough for him to stop - he doesn't ever want to hear red come out of your mouth. Thankfully, you agreed to end it.
And finally, you milked him dry. He came into the condom with a grunt, stopping the vibrator and stuttering his hips into you. You both breathed hard, one more spent than the other. You've always been impressed by Seungmin's ability to not cum unless when he intends to - how even in the world does he withstand it?
After he caught his breath, he pulled out and went to clean up and throw away the messy condom. He came back to pick you in his arms, carrying your naked body to the bathroom where he gently cleaned you up and allowed you to empty your bladder and untangle your hair.
When you came back , he already tidied the room and organized a cozy spot for you on the bed where he could wrap you in blankets and cradle you in his arms.
"How are we feeling?" He asked again, and you grew so, so fond of this sentence.
"Perfect." You reply, smiling at him, and he grins back. He's radiating happiness, and if you're not wrong, he's never smiled like this around anyone else but you. "Can we become official tomorrow?" You mumbled into his chest, and his heart didn't skip a beat, it skipped multiple.
"Are you serious? D-do... You wanna be my girlfriend?" Finally. Finally he could be allowed, to love you so deep, in such a disgustingly shameless way like he desired. He hoped he wasn't dreaming, and that his sex goddess was actually, really going to become his.
"Yes." You reply, booping his nose with your finger.
"I would love nothing more." Yes, yes, and a million more times yes. Can you even begin to imagine how happy you're making him?
"Perfect." You say back, kissing him briefly before burying your face in his naked chest.
"Perfect." He copies you, leaving tiny kisses on your hair. "You're perfect."

"You what?" Your voice comes out in a screech that turns many heads in the cafe you frequented often, like most other students from your university.
Seungmin, who stood in front of you, looking calm and gorgeous as ever stared back at you with a glint of amusement in his eyes.
"You heard me." He says in a cool way that throws you off more.
"I- I need a minute." You manage to let out and cover your head in your hands. The embarrassment from screeching in the middle of the cafe and the shock of what had just happened was all too much to take in at once. You need to breathe.
It was yet another normal weekday filled with assignments, delusional romcoms and endless caffeine ingestion. After a rough summer filled with heartbreak and a depressing start to the fall semester, you had finally gained your footing. The fall had brought with it a lot of changes in you.
You found new classmates who had helped you through the rough times and cared about you. Amongst those classmates was also Seungmin, the menace of the group but surprisingly your favourite confidante. He had been nothing but a little prankster and a comedian who ensured the other boys- Hyunjin, Changbin and Jeongin, never got a single second of peace.
He went a little easier on you and Ryujin, the other girl in the group, and you figured it had less to do with your gender and more to do with the fact that he was positively scared of both of you. While he had been a little less annoying with you, it didn't mean you were entirely free of the classic Seungmin pranks either.
Which is why your first instinct on b being asked out on a date by the Kim Seungmin was to believe he was pulling a prank on you.
Seungmin might be a comedian amongst his friends but you were very well aware of his status as the golden boy of the university's band and the boy with the golden voice. On top of that angelic voice, the boy also had a face that could make everyone melt. That smile had made your heart skip beats on several occasions too.
You had met him on a very surly day of your class during the first week of the semester to discuss forming project teams. What began as a purely academic bond evolved into a sureshot friendship as his friend group got acquainted with you and your friend. You had grown very fond of the boys as they helped you forget your pain.
Seungmin was the first one to reach out and notice your melancholy and something about him made you open up about your struggles. It had been two months since then and he had been your source of support through the entire time. While the other boys were also sweet and Ryujin was your primary pillar of support, Seungmin gave you a comfort that felt worlds apart from the others.
You had your fair share of childish fun with him too. You started to notice how he let only Jeongin and you tease him. Changbin and Hyunjin never stood a chance against Seungmin and despite the latter's fear of Ryujin's brash honesty, he never let her off the hook easily either. It was not exactly a surprise to realise that Seungmin had a soft spot for you.
The surprise was that he had walked into the cafe on a random Tuesday afternoon and chose to utter the words "Will you go on a date with me?" in the most nonchalant Seungmin way with absolutely no warning.
And an even bigger surprise was how your heart was skipping several beats on hearing it and your brain was practically shouting at you to say yes even though you had never let yourself think about Seungmin in that sense.
Correction- you had consciously tried your best to not let Seungmin and his actions, smile, voice, hair or even his pranks affect you in a romantic way. You had just come off a horrendous romantic experience that should keep you sworn off romance for a decade at the least. But you would be lying to yourself if you said you hadn't thought about being with Seungmin at least a couple hundred times in the last month alone.
It had all started with that dream. One cold October afternoon, you decided to make the mistake of taking a nap and ended up dreaming of cuddling with Seungmin while watching the snow from your window. The dream threw you off balance and ever since you have been trying and failing to remove Seungmin out of your mind. The random blushes creeping up your cheeks and a pang of jealousy weighing down your mind every time he performed on stage and you had to watch all the girls drool over him. It was all really frustrating, to have to act normally around him while convincing yourself that you are better off as friends.
Especially since he had started wearing his new prescription glasses and smiling at you randomly. Everything he did got magnified and took up extensive real estate in your brain. Each night you convinced yourself you don't have feelings for him and each morning he would do something so small that would have you fighting for your life trying not to melt.
And now he had the audacity to prank you with something as big as a date and you had no idea how to react.
You parted your hands from your face to look up at him through the gaps in your fingers to find him missing. This made you sit upright and look around, part of you hoping he had left and another part sighing in disappointment at the idea of it being a joke after all. But no, there he was, waiting in line at the counter for his order- which you knew was an iced americano, no sugar and extra ice. You watched as he politely thanked the lady who handed him a drink, then turned around and smiled at the group of freshman girls giggling at him. An involuntary eye-roll escaped and you turned toward your laptop waiting from him to take the seat opposite yours.
"So?" He says, placing his drink on the table and placing his hands on the table as he leans forward.
God, that smirk on his face made your stomach do a backflip.
"So what?" You forced yourself to look and sound as normal as possible. And judging by the smirk that has taken on residence on Seungmin's face you weren't doing the best job.
"Y/N, come on. Stop playing hard to get with me."
"Seungmin what the hell! Stop trying to play one of your stupid pranks on me." This broke his stance. His face turned from playful to serious and it only made your heart beat faster.
"I'm not playing pranks y/n. I am serious." And he looks it too. You gulp down the ball of anxiety forming in your throat.
"You want me to go on a date with you? For real?"
Seungmin flinches at your tone. "Is that really such a weird thought for you?"
The doubt flashing on his face tugs at your heart and you immediately leap to say "no".
This brings the faintest hint of a smile back on his face. He takes a sip out of his drink and says "So it's a yes?"
You say the only thing that comes to your mind at that moment. "Why?"
"What do you mean why?" Seungmin's voice is barely above a whisper.
"Why me? Why now?" Your voice falters at the thought of being vulnerable only for him to end up calling it a prank or a mistake. But the way his face softens at your question removes the worry from your mind. He reaches out and takes your hand in his. The butterflies are doing a full ballet routine in your stomach and your heart thrums in your ears in anticipation.
"Y/N, I knew you were dumb but never thought you were this dumb!" You pout in response and he chuckles. "Okay okay, I was joking. But what I mean to say is... I've liked you for a while now. So I thought I'll ask you out on a date, see if it is an infatuation or something more and then figure out what to do."
It was very Seungmin of him to say that.
"What about my feelings for you?" You questioned out of curiosity.
"That's obvious. You're already head over heels in love with me." He says it with a shrug and you remove your hand from his in frustration. "Ya Seungmin, do you have a death wish?" you exclaim and roll your eyes. Of course, you knew he was joking but your stomach still churned in anxiety.
"Jokes apart, I really do like you y/n and I hope you give me this chance to show it to you. I was waiting all this while for you to take your time after your breakup and move on. Yesterday when you said you didn't even think of any of that mess or feel sad anymore I decided it is time to make my move. And of course, there is no force on you and I won't hold it against you if you reject either. But I really hope you give me this chance. The semester is almost over and we can go on one small date during the break and then figure out everything else. Please?"
Everyone called Seungmin a puppy and you were wary of the nickname initially but at that moment he was looking at you with the softest eyes, lips in a pout and a questioning look that made him look like the cutest puppy on the planet.
His heartfelt confession gave rise to a gazillion butterflies and everything beautiful in your stomach. The big smile formed on your face involuntarily.
"Seungmin that was... cute", you said chuckling. "Who knew you could be this wholesome!"
His pout intensified. "Hey, I am very cute always. But the fact that you haven't slapped me yes makes me hope I might get a yes?" The last sentence sounds more like a question even to Seungmin and you let out another chuckle.
"Yes, Seungmin. I will go on a date with you. Just one though." You feign nonchalance but he sees right through you.
"Y/N, please! I know you are squealing with happiness on the inside right now."
"Yea sure, like I am one of your cringe fangirls ugh! I am just doing this as a favour to you."
"Ahha I see. How kind of you ma'am." He says with a mock bow while his face is glowing with joy.
"Ya stop teasing me or I will back out." The ultimatum sounds like a joke even to your own ears but you keep up the act for the fun.
"No, you're stuck with me now. No backing out!" He said with indignance.
"Do you mean just about the date?" The question left your mouth before your brain could understand it and you regretted it the instant his expression turned serious again.
Seungmin looks into your eyes for a moment too long before responding, "You're stuck with me. That's all."
And just like he leaves for his next class, leaving you to smile to yourself like an idiot. A ping from your phone distracts you.
Seungmin: I'd be wholesome to you forever if it meant seeing you smile like that.
You didn't know what the impending winter would bring but for now, you decided to bask in the happiness and this new facet of Seungmin.

one.
Kim Seungmin is not your favorite person.
He is infuriating in the way he enjoys invading your personal space, always hovering around and blabbering his mouth nonstop every chance he gets. It doesn’t help his case (not that he wants to defend it in the first place) that he finds joy in hiding your things from you. You’d be damned if you left your notebook, even a pen, on your desk unattended. You already know the culprit is seated directly behind you, and the only thing you can do is ignore him in hopes that he returns it to you unscathed.
It’s much easier to not understand the reasons for why he annoys you. You would hate to find the truth behind his actions for the fear that he did it simply because he wanted to. This would only mean there was nothing to resolve to get him to stop.
Or worse, that he hates you. You admit with shame that you thought you’d actually get along quite well with Seungmin when you first met him. It felt like a scene straight out of a movie, playful banter and soft smiles directed to each other and the hopes of meeting each other again. It was honestly like a fairytale — until it wasn’t.
And you’ve tried before, to find out. You’ve made sufficient efforts in scouring for answers as to why he was that way with you, going as far as to asking Hwang Hyunjin (as embarrassing as that turned out to be). But, you had come out of all that empty-handed. So, you leave the unknown unknown and since then decided to just endure it. But it still has you wondering from time to time, had you burned down an orphanage in your past life to deserve this? Had you done something so sinister to be plagued by the presence of Kim Seungmin on a daily basis?
So, while you don’t necessarily hate the boy, you’d go as far as to say he was probably your least favorite person. And that notion weighs heavy considering you know resident menace Choi Beomgyu.
Still, Choi Beomgyu had nothing on Kim Seungmin so he’d have to accept being second to the last on your self-proclaimed list.
Speaking of the devil.
Seungmin parades into your classroom like he owns the place, laughing aloud side by side his friends. You simply drown out his obnoxiousness, the way you always do, though it never works considering it’s apparently his top priority to get on your nerves.
“Another Mcdonalds takeout?” He inquires, picking up the discarded paper bag on your desk to look inside. “You really should stop eating this junk so early in the morning.”
“Wow, keep saying things like that and I’ll start to believe you’re starting to care about me.” You abruptly grab the bag from his hands, moving to the back of your classroom to throw your trash properly before the professor walks in.
“Don’t be silly.” He simply laughs, taking his seat on your desk. “What do you even order?”
“Food, obviously.”
“No shit, Sherlock. What food specifically?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Can’t I ask a simple question?”
You know he won’t leave you alone if you don’t answer him. And you hate that you know that. So, with a begrudging sigh, you answer the boy. “Just nuggets and a Big Mac, now get off my desk.”
“Since you asked so nicely.” He’s being sarcastic, evident in how it’s obnoxiously dripping down his tone, but you can’t find it in you to care. As long as he’s out of your hair for a few minutes.
And you almost think the Gods have answered your prayers when you don’t come across him for the rest of the day. Something about that tells you there is a silver lining for the day, even if it is only ever a little line. You would hate to be blessed with his presence atop the Chemistry test you had at 7pm.
It’s one of the few advantages to signing up for night classes. The college halls were usually dead this hour, save for a few students on their way to the library after having their fifth cup of coffee for the day. And the lack of Kim Seungmin. It’s one sacrifice, giving up hours of your night, but honestly it really isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Especially when your professor always ends early in consideration of those who still had to commute back home — they had to catch the last train somehow.
To replace Seungmin, you had Yang Jeongin in your class, but he usually kept to himself more. He was a lot more civilized than his friend, and you’ve been hoping this would’ve at least rubbed off on Seungmin.
“You ready for the test?” Jeongin asks after you had taken your seat next to him. The first thing you discern is the lack of textbooks and notes on his desk compared to everyone else’s pathetic attempt to review last minute. It seems he’s given up like you did.
“Absolutely the fuck not. I haven’t even eaten dinner yet so this is going to be a disaster.” You laugh, dropping your bag down on the ground just as your professor walks in. Jeongin is on his phone for the rest of the free time you have left before test papers and answer sheets were distributed.
It’s a horrible hour and a half, and the difficulty of the test makes you want to fall to your knees and weep. The lack of dinner in your stomach doesn’t exactly help your case as by the last few minutes of the test, you couldn’t care less about why you use ammonium oxalate to precipitate Calcium and Magnesium. The only thing in your head is a picture of your go-to Mcdonalds order as you pass your paper.
A jumpscare greets you on your way out in the form of Kim Seungmin who is holding a Mcdonalds paper bag in his hands, the same one you had just been daydreaming about.
“Jesus fucking Christ.” The sight of the boy spikes up your blood pressure, and you have to pause in your step to catch your breath after not having dinner, suffering through a long test, and seeing Seungmin all within the span of a few hours.
Though, what he does next surprises you.
“I ordered too much for Innie so you can have this, I guess.” He mumbles, shoving the brown paper bag in your direction. It scorches your fingers as you reached to grab it before it can fall to the ground.
It was a strange sight for Seungmin to be giving you something without asking. Strange and funny for it had occurred to you that if someone were to tell you Seungmin would be your stomach’s knight in shining armor, you wouldn’t have been able to believe yourself.
“Oh, thanks? You didn’t… poison this, did you?”
“How little do you think of me?” He simply walks away before you can reply to him again.
You scrunch your nose in confusion, leaning down to look into the contents of the Mcdonalds paper bag he had just given you.
Nuggets and a Big Mac.
Was this also Jeongin’s go-to order?
When you look back up, said boy greets you with french fries stuffed in his mouth. There’s a hint of a smirk that’s barely visible from his puffed out cheeks.
“You know, you can be really stupid.” Jeongin giggles to himself, patting down your head and messing with your hair a little before waving you goodbye. “Bye (name)!”
You simply stare at their retreating figures, head tilted as you try to drink in what Jeongin had just told you.
Stupid about what? The test?

two.
What is the connotation of a very thrilled Kim Seungmin walking into the campus library as you’re struggling with your part for your joint project?
You’re almost convinced something significant had happened for him to walk in with a shit-eating grin on his face, but you know better than that now. So, you simply ignore him, turning back to your laptop as Felix and Hyunjin greet the boy. He’s late, but knowing him, he’s probably finished his part of the project. You hate to acknowledge his competence, but you have to give credit where credit is due.
You could obviously ask for help, but you’d run through the streets naked first before ever asking the boy to help you. You refuse to be subjected to his taunting more than you already were. Besides, you don’t need help from someone like Seungmin. He’d probably be so arrogant about how you needed his help.
Rubbing your eyes for a split second, you go back to furiously typing at your laptop — so aggressively that Yeji has to pull you back for a bit in fear that you’d destroy your keyboard.
The five of you work on the project diligently, finishing the monstrosity of your synthesis paper for Life Science at almost one in the morning.
When everyone moves to leave, you stay behind, telling them you still had a few deadlines to catch up on, namely a Statistics paper and a book review for your English Literary class. While it wasn’t exactly due yet, it doesn’t hurt to start them when the pump of coffee is already in your system.
“See you guys tomorrow!” You say in a hushed tone, waving at the group before moving your attention back on your laptop.
And maybe it’s the sleep deprivation getting to you but you don’t notice Seungmin still situated at the opposite end of your table.
He doesn’t say anything either. He knows you’re running 50% coffee and 50% restlessness, so he simply sits back in his chair with a book in hand.
He could use the time to annotate anyway.
When Seungmin glances back at you thirty minutes later, he can only watch in amusement when he finds you close to passing out on the wooden table of the library. Your eyelids are starting to droop, and even though it seems you’re trying your hardest to fight it, you find that your sleeved arm is far too comfortable to refuse.
He immediately puts down his book, moving across the table to wake you up. It seems the appropriate time to tell you to go home and get some rest.
When you don’t respond to the gentle shake of your shoulder, he choose the next best thing to wake you up. With a text book in hand, he drops it on the space right beside your head, creating a loud enough sound to jolt you in your sleep.
“Come on. We’re going home. You’re a lost cause, anyway.”
“Fuck you.” You grumble sleepily, sitting up and squinting at your laptop before shutting it down so you can start packing up.
“I’m flattered, really, but no thanks.”
You scoff, and he simply smirks in response as he helps you put your things back in your bag.
“Why are you still here anyway?” It’s a question you’ve been meaning to ask him since you finally noticed him an hour back, but you chose to bite down on your tongue and stay silent instead.
He shrugs. “Had to annotate this book, and I’m already at the library so I might as well.”
“Okay, whatever.” You move to grab a pen that had fallen on the ground carelessly, and in the process, you feel your head collide with Seungmin’s hand instead of the harsher corner of the table.
You see red almost immediately. You hate to admit the small gesture has butterflies erupting in your stomach.
He doesn’t say anything as he pulls his hand back, so you don’t make a big deal out of it.
“What time is it?”
“Almost 4 in the morning.”
You hum, thinking of how you were gonna get back to your dorm. It was probably still dark outside, and you weren’t exactly willing to put yourself in danger over finishing up a few schoolworks at the library.
“You can go ahead. I’ll just text Ode to see if he’s still awake.”
“Why?” He quips, pausing to stand next to you outside the doors of the building when you stop walking.
“You’re gonna make fun of me.”
“There is a chance, yes. But I might not.” Seungmin smirks, and you roll your eyes.
“I don’t wanna walk alone in the dark.”
If Seungmin wants to laugh and poke fun, it seems he’s doing a good job at holding back. “Don’t disturb his sleep. I’ll walk you back instead.”
“Wow, you’re actually being nice to me for once.” You say jokingly.
“I won’t make a habit out of it. Besides, I was the last person seen with you and I don’t wanna be responsible if you go missing.”
There goes being nice.
This is how you end up walking home with Kim Seungmin. You don’t remember much about the walk home, just the proximity from where he’s walking next to you and the warmth radiating from him in contrast to the cold night. He has his hands in his pockets the whole way home, and it’s the little details like what seems to be the first genuine smile you see from him that you remember the most.
When you reach your dorm, he simply stares at you in a way you’re not used to before bowing and turning around his step to start walking back to his own dorm.

three.
A month later, Chan from your university’s basketball team decides to host a party at his house.
Being friends with half of his friends had its perks in that he enthusiastically invites you when you walk past him by your department’s hallways. And while you had every intent to decline his offer, Ryujin had already accepted for you and told him he’d be seeing you both there.
And by 8pm, you find yourselves inside his packed house, trying to navigate your way through drunken college kids. The entire first floor reeked of alcohol and sweat which wasn’t a great combination by all means.
The music is loud from Chan’s speakers, and you immediately want to go home and jump into the comforting sheets of your bed to sleep the night away. Ryujin doesn’t let you flee as she leads you to the kitchen where she tells you of where Chan hides his secret stash of snacks and ice cream. Another silver lining.
You spend an hour chatting and laughing on the kitchen counter with Ryujin, a spoonful of ice cream in your mouths as you make fun of multiple people’s dancing — not that any of you could do any better. Actually, scratch that, Ryujin could probably take them all on. You continuously ask if it was okay for you to be stealing these expensive tubs of ice cream and Ryujin just tells you she’s done it before, and that Bang Chan could most definitely afford some more if he wanted to. So, you continue to eat the ice cream without guilt.
Well, until Chan catches the pair of you, and you apologize profusely. He just laughs it off, looking at the two of you fondly before feigning a scolding. Turns out, he simply wanted you two to join him and his friends in a round of truth or dare upstairs.
Another thing to add and check off your non-existent bucket list. To be deemed sociable enough to be included in an exclusive circle of friend’s truth or dare despite only knowing around 4 people there. You think it might just be Ryujin’s doing, but you happily tag along to escape the mass of people downstairs.
When you make it upstairs, you’re surprised to see you know a lot more people than you thought you would. Yeji was there, seated beside who you think is Karina. Jeongin is with his friends, Seungmin included. Some of them you know, and some you just learned to be Jisung, Changbin, and Minho. The rest don’t really matter to you as you prop yourselves down in the circle.
And then a round of the game starts, and you start to question the things in this world that perplexed you. You used to think it were simple things — wet doorknobs, tuna fish, cramps, back pains. But after tonight, you might have to start modifying your own list. You can start with someone’s attempt to rap freestyle, the sight of a shirtless Han Jisung whom you’ve barely exchanged a word with but now have seen him half naked, the sudden knowledge of who was wearing a Spongebob themed underwear, someone (you believe was Minho?) roleplaying a scene from Zootopia. The list is endless.
Who knew a game of truth or dare could be this chaotic? Though, you probably should’ve known that especially being thrown into a group of such dynamic people.
Before you know it, the bottle lands on you and you’ve never wanted to wipe the smirk on Jeongin’s face so much than right now because you know he’s probably planning something that has to do with Kim Seungmin.
You think you can keep your anxiety at bay, that is until he starts whispering with Felix and Hyunjin and you swear that if someone opened the window right now, there’s a high chance you would make a run for it and jump and simply hope for the best.
“Don’t worry, it isn’t anything crazy! You can stop chewing on your nails.” You flush in embarrassment when the group laughs, and Ryujin runs a comforting hand down your back to make sure the attention isn’t too overwhelming for you.
“I dare you to hug Seungmin.”
“Excuse me?” You ask him to repeat his dare to you as if you hadn’t heard him. But you did. Loud and clear in fact.
The smirk on his face only grows. “I said, hug Seungmin.”
Okay, you know what, that should be simple. You sigh out in response before getting up from your seat to make your way towards where Seungmin’s situated, thankful he didn’t let you do anything as embarrassing as the others.
However, the closer you make towards where Seungmin is, wearing a top that accentuated his broad shoulders way too perfectly, and sporting a smug grin on his face, you start to think this might be the most difficult one of the night yet.
Seungmin stands in compliance to your dare, and you feel all eyes in the circle shift to the pair of you, as if anticipating it more than you.
His eyes survey you, as if to question if you were really gonna do it. And to egg you on further, he decides to open his arms wide which earns a few howls and whistles from the room. God, you hate him. You really really hate him.
And then you do it, just to get it over with, and Seungmin’s expression switches to a more taken back one. He didn’t expect you to actually push through with the dare. The longer the hug lasts, the more a ghost of a smile threatens to spill from his lips.
You have your arms wrapped around the entirety of his body, and his own resting just around your waist, and he’s crouched down a little so he can match your height better without you having to tiptoe so much.
When he presses you closer, the whole room erupts in cheers; vomiting air, nudging each other, and whistling.
Seungmin allows himself a quick glance at you, but there isn’t much to see when your face is pressed firmly against his chest. Perhaps to try and hide from the embarrassment of your friends shouting “get a room” even if you were just hugging.
He feels so warm in the air conditioned room, and it seems he didn’t have much to drink tonight when he smells more like fresh laundry and the perfume he always wears. This feels nice actually. But you would never tell him that. In fact, you have every intention of taking that observation to your grave.
When you finally notice the glances of friends and acquaintances alike around you, you pull back from the hug and immediately make your way back to your seat without another word.
You make a vow to yourself to get back at Jeongin for humiliating you like that — however, there’s a persistent voice in your head telling you that maybe you hadn’t minded that hug one bit the way you let on.
You ignore it.
Tumblr media
four.
The sound of a shutter going off and a flash of light greets you immediately upon entering your classroom another month later.
It seems Seungmin’s found an upgraded way to annoy you (as if hiding your things wasn’t enough). With a new phone gifted to him on his birthday, he seems insistent on catching you when you’re unprepared. It makes you frustrated — as if he wasn’t enough of an irritant.
You should be used to Seungmin doing stupid things all the time, but even after months, you find that it really is a difficult task to endure. Why is he so intent on irritating you? You’re starting to seek for the answers you told yourself to stay unknown. How could you keep letting him be without knowing why he enjoys getting a rise out of you so much?
To add insult to injury, his loud voice greets you a good morning as he waves his phone around at you. You hope it falls and shatters.
Too far?
“What? Are you camera shy?” He smirks mischievously, turning to focus his camera back on you.
“At what point do you become mature?”
“Hm, not for a long time, I don’t think.” You have to remind yourself he’s provoking you for the sake of it, and you really shouldn’t be as affected as you feel right now. So, you breathe in sharply through your nose and just let him be.
When class ends, you’re quick to rant to Ryujin about Seungmin’s new discovery at getting a kick out of you.
“He won’t stop taking fucking pictures of me.” You mutter indignantly, putting all your frustration into your words.
“You know, they say you only take photos of things if you have love for the subject.”
“What are you trying to imply?”
“Just that there must be a reason why he’s so intent on having your face litter the memory of his new phone.” Ryujin smirks when your face starts to flush red at the realization of what she’s suggesting.
“Oh, shut up.” Your words don’t come out as intimidating as you want it to, and you spend the rest of the day thinking about it.
You confront Seungmin the next day, just so you can stop thinking about it. “Why are you taking so much photos of me?”
You’re already expecting that smirk on his face, and a feigned confusion. But, to your surprise, he looks genuinely surprised at your question. You’d go as far as saying he looked like a deer caught in headlights.
You’ve unknowingly caught his tongue, but he catches himself before you can catch on. With a half-assed smirk on his face, he says the best excuse that comes in his mind.
“Just so I have multiple material to use when I need to blackmail you.”
You’re appalled, and frustrated at yourself for thinking what Ryujin was hinting at might be true. You don’t even know why you were hoping in the first place. You don’t like the boy, right?
Your lips press into a straight line, and you swear your blood vessels might burst if you stare at him any longer so you storm back to your seat and ignore him for the rest of the day.
Tumblr media
five.
There comes a point in the semester when all you’ll know is the quivering of your knees and the bloodshot red of your eyes from crying too much.
For you, it’s the result of a failed test score on a subject you studied really hard for.
You draw your knees up to press your face against them, finding solace in the quiet of the night outside. It’s early enough that you aren’t scared to walk home alone just yet.
You hear footsteps around you, but you simply drown them out in favor of focusing on washing out your frustration over yourself and that stupid test. Though, it proves a more difficult task when someone slides into the seat next to yours. When you look up, you see Seungmin staring at you. And he’s looking at you with an expression you don’t quite recognize, but equally don’t have the energy to try and deduce.
“Seungmin, I’m not really in the mood—“ He shuts you up with a handkerchief shoved in front of your face. “Why are you offering me a handkerchief?”
“Because you’re crying and seeing your stupid tears makes me upset. So wipe them away.” You stare at the handkerchief before studying his features for any hint of malice, but you see nothing but honest concern. You can’t help but feel a little touched at the uncharacteristic gesture.
“Thanks.” He hums, smiling gently down at you, and you think you’ve never seen him look this small before.
When you take the handkerchief from him, you make sure to return what looks like a trial of a smile amidst your scornful face and Seungmin is genuinely shocked you’d actually direct the closest thing to a smile at him — as if he had expected you to brush off his own and reject it.
When he shifts a little closer to where you’re seated, you surprisingly don’t feel repulsed at the distance and the way his shoulders brush against yours.
“Is it something you wanna talk about?”
The cold and quiet atmosphere of the night and the way Seungmin is looking down at you encourages you to speak, the way you never thought you would with the boy.
“Not really. Just… I’m so stupid for failing that test. And, and maybe if I studied harder than I would’ve at least gotten a more decent score.” You sigh, playing with the handkerchief as you look down in humiliation.
Seungmin scrunches his face. “It’s not your fault. We win some, we lose some. What matters is that we keep going despite the losses.”
He doesn’t snap back at you with a snarky remark like he usually would. Instead, he gives genuinely useful advice, and you think your ears could be deceiving you if he wasn’t seated directly next to you.
“Wow, I didn’t think you had it in you to say something like that.” You laugh a little, and you miss the way the tip of his ears heat in red at being able to solicit a laugh from you.
“You wound me.”
You don’t know what takes over you, but you find yourself leaning your head against his shoulder. For now, you’ll blame it on the exhaustion from crying so much earlier.
Your head against his body feels nice and comforting and warm against the biting air from the night, but you can feel him physically tense up at the contact and you almost pull your head back immediately if he hadn’t rested his head against yours.
The compromising position has Kim Seungmin in contemplation over something that’s been such a great concern in his life for the past few months, almost a year even. It had started when he met you, the first time he ever saw you and heard your voice, and the day he decided he’d spend every second thereafter trying to get your attention.
He mirrors the way you interact with your friends, and yet somewhere along the line, it had been misinterpreted into something it wasn’t and he had to live in pretense of irritating you when all he’s ever wanted was your attention. But, he thought, if this was the only way then he’d have to keep the facade up.
Besides, a little attention (even if it was with hatred) is better than none.
When Seungmin grows uncharacteristically quiet, you start to wonder what he could be thinking about and why there’s a small scrunch in his face as if he was deep in thought.
You never used to wonder what he could be thinking about. What’s changed?
“Seungmin?”
“Hm?”
“Why do you enjoy irritating me so much? Do you hate me?”
Seungmin peels his head from yours, staring down at you with a completely horrified look on his face.
“Hate you?” He feels nauseous that you could even think that, and he’s shaking his head quickly, compromising feelings he’s kept hidden for quite a while now. He’s so confounded by your statement that he gets up from his seat on the bench for a second to stare at you before calming down and returning back to his spot. “I don’t hate you. I— I could never hate you.”
You look at him, and you’re surprised to see that he’s genuinely astonished and a little upset at what you had just tried to imply.
“Then why?” You swallow down a lump in your throat, asking him in the smallest voice he’s ever heard from you. This was the perfect opportunity to ask him why, being handed to you straight on your lap, so you bite the bullet and ask.
“I actually thought we’d get along quite well when we met. And then you just started to… I don’t know.” His eyes are soft as he listens to you, lips slightly parted as if trying to think of the perfect explanation to clear your misinterpretations.
When you finish, Seungmin closes his eyes to recollect his thoughts. For a second, you think he might be coming up with an excuse to save himself but the earnest way in which he looks at you the moment he opens his eyes again quiets the voice in your head.
“I just wanted your attention.” His face visibly cringes at the sudden confession. Seungmin feels like he’s floating, looking down at his physical body that’s trying to explain himself without embarrassing himself further.
“You… what?” You blink.
He sighs out, wiping the sweat that’s gathered from his palms down his pants before tilting his head back as if trying to ask strengths from the Gods so he can admit to you whatever he’s been hiding. And then, he looks back at you and he finally confesses what he’s been keeping from you for months.
“I thought that maybe if I acted the way you did with your friends then there’d be a higher chance we’d get along. But then you misinterpreted it as hatred, and I’ve had to pretend I enjoy irritating you when all I really want to do is hold your hand.”
He squeezes his eyes shut as if afraid of your response, but all you can do is stare at him with your mouth parted.
This definitely wasn’t the response you were expecting.
“But… but it really felt like you hated me. Like— when you’d make fun of me for my food choices or that time in the library when you stayed behind to taunt me for being a lost cause.”
“You have me all wrong, (Name). When I asked you what you liked, it was an excuse so I could get it for you. Do you really think I’d accidentally buy too much dinner for Jeongin, and have the excess be exactly your favorites? And… and that night at the library. I stayed behind because I know you’re afraid to walk home late. So you would be less afraid if I walked you home.”
You meet his eyes, breath catching in your throat when you gauge the level of genuineness in his eyes.
“You— You hugged me as a dare in Chan’s party and sometimes that’s all I think about.” Seungmin falls silent after that, simply letting out a breath he feels he’s been holding for too long.
“Look, you don’t have to say anything right now. I know it’s a lot to take in.” He fiddles with the ends of the sweater he’s wearing, making sure to avoid eye contact.
“Seungmin.” The simple sound of his name from your lips has him looking at you despite trying his best not to. “I don’t know what to say.”
“That’s okay. It must be a lot to take in.”
“I thought you hated me for months and now, you’re telling me the exact opposite.” Your voice gradually quiets down, and Seungmin finds comfort when you scoot in your seat closer. “I really don’t know what to say.”
“Would it hurt to start over?” You’re greeted with his softening stare, and he bites his lips in anticipation for your response.
“I think… I think I’d like that.”
Seungmin immediately smiles, the kind of smile that’s difficult to hide even in the inky night, even if he tried.
You find yourself mirroring his own smile.
The thought of finding out the truth behind Seungmin’s actions has always scared you, but now you know you should’ve never been afraid.
Somehow, things are already starting to change, with an outstretched hand in your direction. You find yourself taking it in yours with ease.
“Hi, I’m Seungmin. It’s nice to meet you.”

THE ONE THAT CAME BACK | kim seungmin
idol ex boyfriend seungmin x reader (2.8k words)
-> anon request: a fic from your ex boyfriend texts with seungmin - please read the texts before you read this !!
Tumblr media
There were only a handful of moments in your life where you had been genuinely furious. A notable one was after your sister wore your favourite top to a party and returned it with a huge pink stain on the front. Another was when your family dog chewed up your homework and, of course, your biology teacher didn't believe you.
Right now was a third instance. Sitting across from some guy you'd met on hinge - a weak and feeble attempt to get back into the dating scene after your messy break up with your ex, whilst said ex was sitting in a booth similar to your own right in your eyeline.
You squint your eyes, trying to see if it actually was him and not actually some guy with a dark beard and a baseball cap or a scary lookalike. But after being with Seungmin for over a year before he mysteriously broke up with you, you had picked up on all of his habits. The way he looked away from you with a glassy look on his face, only to slyly look back at you and away from you again. The way he grinned that cheesy grin when you scowled at him, ignoring what your date was saying to pull out your phone.
"...and it was phenomenal!" your date finishes, leaning back against the wall of the booth as he ends the story you weren't paying any attention to.
"Sorry, what was that?" you ask absentmindedly, looking up from your phone before getting the chance to send your ridiculous ex boyfriend a snarky message.
"I was talking about my trip to Mexico," your date responds, tilting his head at you. "You weren't listening?"
"No, sorry, I was," you reply hastily, waving a hand in front of your face. "I just got distracted. I'm listening, I just need to message my mum back."
Obviously you don't tell him the real person you're going to message, because having to explain your ex boyfriend is sitting in the booth across from you is only slightly awkward. He doesn't seem to care, though, flying into another story from his trip. You pull up the messaging app, scrolling until you find your conversation with Seungmin. You hadn't texted each other in over a month, and you chose to ignore the ache in your heart from looking at your dry last text conversation.
You watch for his reaction after texting him to ask whether or not it was him sitting across from you, shaking your head when you see him pull out his phone after receiving your notification. Of course it was him. Seungmin was a menace, and you'd watched him do some really dumb things in the two years you'd known each other, but this was taking it to an all new level. You reply to all his dumb responses with an eyeroll, physically watching him laugh as you get worked up until he messages about Hyunjin telling him you were going on a date.
You'd met Seungmin through Hyunjin over two years ago now. Hyunjin and you had taken a summer art course back then and you’d quickly became good friends, and as you were introduced to his friends gradually, one particular dark headed, brace toothed boy had instantly caught your attention. When you met him at Hyunjin's birthday party, he'd constantly be making his friends laugh, introducing himself and making you feel welcome amongst Hyunjin's friends instantly. Of course it was intimidating meeting your friends idol group members, but after Seungmin had handed you a drink and made sure you knew everyone's names, you saw yourself growing more attracted to him by the minute.
After months of touring and texting, Hyunjin had finally let Seungmin's crush on you slip. Apparently, he hadn't shut up about you over the course of their tour, and once Seungmin came home the first thing he did was take you out on a date.
That seems like worlds ago now, though. You wonder why Hyunjin had told Seungmin about your date, and you wonder why Seungmin cared enough to show up to gate crash said date in the worlds worst disguise. Your thought process is interrupted, though, as you watch a mysterious looking figure walk through the doorway to the bar you were in. Rolling your eyes, you send Seungmin another text, asking him why on earth Han Jisung was joining him on his spy mission.
"...and that's when the tree fell down and my car exploded."
Your head snaps upwards after listening to the sentence, giving your date a shocked expression. He shakes his head with a smirk, taking a sip of his drink.
"Sorry, just wanted to see if you were still listening," he explains, and you give him a downturned smile.
"I'm really sorry," you say whole heartedly, trying to stop yourself from laughing as you remember Seungmin's texts about how fugly your date was. Now that he'd put the image in your head, you could not shake the thought of how Seungmin was ten times better looking that the man sitting in front of you - and you felt terrible. You were the one who asked to go out with him over hinge, after all.
"Don't worry about it, I can see you're not really into this," he says with a shrug, and you can't help but internally cringe at the awkward situation.
"Yeah, I'm sorry," you apologise for the millionth time, feeling horrible. Although it had taken two months, you'd finally felt as though you were over Seungmin, just to realise you were entirely not over him at all.
"Hey, don't apologise," your date says kindly. "These things happen. But just so you know, those two old guys in that booth over there keep staring at you."
You close you eyes with a smile, shaking your head. "Don't worry, I know them. Sorry to drag you here, I just don't think I wanna take things any further."
He nods in understanding, and you thank god that he's not a douchebag who would make you feel bad for cutting your date short. He pulls out his wallet, taking out a couple notes.
"Do you need a lift home?" he asks, placing the notes on the table. You appreciate that even after all this, he still pays enough to cover your share too.
"No, but thankyou. I'm just a short walk away," you say with a genuine smile. You feel your phone pinging with messages as your date stands up and bids you a farewell. You sigh, leaning back and pulling out your phone to reply to Seungmin. You message to say you could could discuss things properly tomorrow, knowing that it was clear you were not over your breakup and that if Seungmin was going to these lengths just to spy on your date, he clearly wasn't either.
Plucking up your courage, you stand up, feeling Seungmin's gaze trained on you. You make eye contact, walking over to his booth.
"What was with the newspaper this morning?" you hear Jisung say in a fake deep voice, attempting to hide his face. You roll your eyes, standing next to him and tapping his shoulder.
"Hi, Jisung," you say nonchalantly, watching him turn slowly and give you a lopsided smile.
"Hi," he says back, realising you knew it was them the whole time. You turn to Seungmin, giving him a deadpan expression.
"You're an idiot," you say, trying to keep your voice neutral. It was the first time you'd spoken to him in person since that day he'd broken up with you, and your heart was racing. "I'll see you tomorrow."
And with that, you turned on your heel and left the bar, walking home without texting Seungmin again.
Tumblr media
Seungmin felt like you were 100% right. He was an idiot. Perhaps the worlds biggest one.
"She's not wrong, you know," Jisung says with a tilted head. Seungmin makes a face at his friend, sighing as he rereads the texts he had exchanged with you. "You need to tell her the real reason you broke up with her and not the bullshit excuse you gave at the time."
"I know," Seungmin groans, taking a sip of the coffee he had ordered. "I know. I'm just...embarrassed."
"She'll understand," Jisung points out. He'd known you just as long as Seungmin had, and in those two years he'd grown to really like you. He knew how head over heels his friend was for you, and he'd heard Hyunjin gush over the talented artist he'd met on his summer course. Truth be told, even Jisung was annoyed when Seungmin had explained why he'd ended it with you.
"You think?" Seungmin asks honestly, tapping his foot against the floor. Jisung rolls his eyes.
"Dude, you know her. You know how patient and understanding she is with you. Has she ever given you a reason to doubt her?"
Seungmin thinks about it for a couple minutes, enjoying the peaceful silence between him and Jisung as he did so. As loud as his friend was, he knew when quiet was needed, and in this instance all Seungmin needed was a breath of fresh air.
"She's one of the only people I've ever met who actually understands how busy our schedules are and loves you despite it. Remember on your one year anniversary when we got held back to practice for our comeback and instead of being mad you had to postpone your fancy dinner, she stayed up until 4am and surprised you at the dorm instead?"
Seungmin smiles at the memory. He'd been so gutted to have to cancel, and was so worried about what you'd think, but you'd shown why he fell in love with you in the first place. Your calm aura, yet outspoken and captivating personality had drawn you to him instantly.
"I think maybe with how busy we've been since our comeback, you kind of lost sight of your relationship for a while," Jisung says, putting in his two cents on the situation. Seungmin nods, agreeing with him. "You can sort it tomorrow. For now, can we please go back to our dorm? This beard is ridiculously itchy."
Seungmin laughs, feeling his head clear knowing he would finally be able to explain and sort things out with you tomorrow. He just hoped you'd forgive him for being an idiot.
Tumblr media
You must have checked your appearance in the mirror over a million times.
Okay, maybe a million was on overstatement, but you felt as though you were going insane. After maybe the first month of being in a relationship with Seungmin, you'd stopped worrying about what you looked like in front of him, so you felt as though you were right back in the beginning going on those initial dates.
Seungmin had texted you earlier reinforcing the fact he wanted to see you today, and although you were more than excited to finally hear his explanation for the impromptu breakup, you were nervous as hell. When you hear the buzzer to your apartment door go off, you're in half a mind to just call the whole thing off. But the prospect of potentially getting back together with the love of your life caused you to take a deep breath and leave your apartment, walking down the stairs to meet Seungmin at the main door.
He's in sweats and a hoodie, yet you think he's still the most handsome man you'll ever see. He looks just as nervous as you feel, looking down at you as you open the door.
"Hi," he says cautiously, taking a second before moving out of your way and walking towards his car. You follow, going towards the passengers seat and climbing in. The sense of nostalgia you feel from being back in the front seat of his car is overwhelming, so you take a deep breath to ground yourself.
Seungmin turns to you, trying not to smile at the fact your here, with him, again. "So..."
"So," you repeat, giving him a nod as if to allow him to start talking.
"I've been an idiot."
You can't help but to chuckle, because at least he's self aware. "You have been."
"And I owe you a proper explanation as to why I broke up with you," he rushes out, afraid that if he doesn't keep going, he'll clam up. You nod, willing him to continue.
"I never...it wasn't because I stopped loving you, or you did anything to make me want to break up with you."
"It's not you, it's me?" you breathe out with a smile, chuckling slightly at how stressed your poor ex boyfriend looks.
"As cliché as it sounds, yeah," Seungmin shakes his head, his dark hair bouncing. "You couldn't have been a more perfect girlfriend, which is why I broke up with you."
You screw your face up, seemingly forgetting how hard Seungmin finds it to voice what he wants to say, but you stay quiet to let him continue.
"I felt terrible for months about how I couldn't be there for you because of my job. I was busy constantly, I could hardly even text you," he explains, looking distraught. "When we had our comeback, I was so stressed and overworked and I felt as though I was being the worlds worst boyfriend to you."
"Seungmin, how many times have I explained that I understand your job and how much it means to you?” you say, looking at him. He avoids your eye contact. "I would never ask you to put me above your job or spend more time with me. I love you, and that means everything that comes with that - the sneaking around, the late nights. I'd take a late night drive with you over a date out in the open with someone else any day."
Seungmin turns his head, looking at you straight in the eyes.
"What?" you ask when he doesn't say anything.
"You said love. Present tense," Seungmin says, a bewildered look plaguing his features. You nod, not really understanding what he's getting at. "You still love me?"
"Of course I do, Min," you say, unable to help yourself from using the nickname you'd adopted for him over the years.
"Even though I'm an idiot who cant express how I'm feeling?" he adds, and you laugh, nodding your head.
"Even though you're an idiot who can't express how you’re feeling," you confirm. "Why did you ever think I wouldn't understand this?"
"It wasn't so much that you wouldn't understand," he says. "I was just embarrassed that I couldn't handle everything. I wanted so badly to be able to tell you how I was feeling but I didn't want to even admit to myself that I was struggling."
"Hey," you say gently, taking his large hand in yours. He looks towards your intertwined hands for a moment and smiles. "I'll always be here for you. No matter what, we can get through it together."
"So you want to get back together?" he asks, hoping you'll say yes.
"Of course I do, Min. Those last two months sucked without you," you laugh, trying to hold back the tear that's threatening to spill. Seungmin smiles at you, a proper grin, and you can't stop thinking about kissing him. he seems to be thinking the same thing as he looks towards your lips, his smile fading as he looks back up to your eyes.
"Would it be far too soon for me to kiss you right now?" he says straight up, and you smile and shake our head. He leans forward over the centre console and places a gentle kiss against your lips, lingering there for a couple seconds before pulling away. You don't allow him any time to say anything, though, as you Pull him towards you by his forearm and kiss him again, properly.
He moves against your lips as he always used to; slowly, with meaning, but as the kiss starts becoming more intense you can tell just how much he's missed you by the way he kisses you with so much longing. You pull away after a minute, breathing deeply as he places his forehead against yours.
"I missed you so much," he whispers, keeping his eyes closed. You smile, giving him another peck before moving away.
"I hate the fact I have to go to work in an hour," you say, huffing. Seungmin chuckles beside you.
"I hope you see the irony in that," he points out, and you laugh in response. "I won't keep you any longer, I just knew I had to sort things out with you now until it became too late."
"Remember to thank Hyunjin for being a rat and telling you about my date," you say to him, and he rolls his eyes at you.
"I'll thank Hyunjin for being a rat," he says with a grin. "And I can see you again soon?"
"Of course," you smile. "I'll text you and we can sort something out."
Seungmin nods as you unclick your seatbelt, moving to open the passenger door. You go to kiss him goodbye and you feel him smile against your lips, but as you go to get out the car you feel him pull your hand back.
"You okay?" you ask, and he nods, showing off a toothy grin.
"I love you," he says sincerely, and you shake your head at him.
"I love you too, idiot."

deny me (lovesong) — kim seungmin. ·˚ ༘♡
Tumblr media
↝ pairing: kim seungmin x reader ↝ genre: humor, fluff, established relationship!au ↝ word count: 4k ↝ warnings: general menace behavior, you and seungmin are in love but pretend not to be, gross sickening fluff, jisung obviously doesn’t have the paboracha brain cell this week (don't mind that the banner isn't a gif my photoshop subscription expired.......)
↝ summary: the only thing you love more than your boyfriend seungmin’s smile is his obsession with fucking around with his friends. or, after one too many fights between his two best friends who can’t get along for the life of them, han jisung isn’t sure he can handle it anymore (who’s going to tell him that they don’t actually hate each other and are, in fact, dating?)
Tumblr media
Thursdays have always been your favorite day of the week.
“Hi babe.”
To be fair, any day that you get to see Kim Seungmin is your favorite. But for the six months that the two of you have been dating, Thursdays have always been your day because it is when you get to see him the most, free of any distractions.
The two of you met through your mutual friends, and although you love them (well, you love them sometimes), they can be demanding. Early on in the friendship, back when you were all itty bitty freshmen with a thirst for the party life, Changbin claimed Fridays as your going out nights. Saturdays, then, were reserved for movie night at Hyunjin and Minho’s after a few too many Marvel marathons sophomore year. Sundays eventually ended up being taken by weekly brunch with Jeongin, and every other day of the week—well, those ended up occupied by one clingy, over-attached Han Jisung.
But Thursdays? Those Seungmin kept clear just for you.
“Ew,” you wrinkle your nose as your boyfriend leans down and plants a sloppy kiss on your forehead.
He raises a brow before flopping into the seat next to you and wrapping his arm around your waist.
“Say that again,” Seungmin mutters as he peppers more kisses on your face.
Somehow, he manages to make the words sound both threatening and endearing at the same time. His lips trail their way down your cheek, along your jaw, to the corner of your lips, until you can’t take it anymore.
“Okay, okay,” you relent with a laugh. “I missed you too.”
“That’s what I thought,” he says triumphantly. You tilt your head up, ready for the final kiss, but he pretends not to notice the way you pucker your lips.
“Now get away from me.”
Seungmin dramatically pushes you off, but the smirk playing across his face tells you that he is just joking.
“Okay, loser,” you sniff, taking a sip from your coffee.
“How was class today?” He asks, shrugging his bag onto the ground.
“S’alright,” you sigh, pushing a cup towards him. You had ordered his iced Americano when you had arrived a few minutes earlier. This was your favorite café, and it had become a tradition to meet here after classes—it was a bit far from campus, sure, but you never minded, and neither did Seungmin.
He takes a big sip from his drink, grinning happily.
“Are you finally done with that project Professor Cho assigned?”
“Yes, thank god,” you roll your eyes.
“Good,” he laces his fingers with your hand on top of the table.
“Now you can focus all your attention on me again,” he bats his eyelashes.
“Awww, was my Minnie jealous of my biology class?” You coo.
“Never,” he wrinkles his nose. “I don’t get jealous.”
“Riiiiiiight,” you nod. “So what do you call that time you ignored Jeongin for two weeks because, and I quote, he was ‘breathing too close’ to me?”
“I just didn’t want any of his stupidity to rub off,” Seungmin says sincerely. “You need every brain cell you can get.”
You scoff and try to break free from where his hand holds yours, but his fingers just tighten their grasp.
“Okay, well what about that time you blew up on Changbin because he fell asleep in my lap?”
Your boyfriend’s eyes narrow at the memory.
“That was, like, a week before we made it official,” he insists. “It wasn’t jealousy, it was anxiety.”
“And who’s fault is it that it took us so long to get together?” You tease.
“Jisung’s,” Seungmin says immediately.
“Okay,” you admit. “That’s like, half true.”
Before you and Seungmin started dating, before the two of you were even friends, there was Han Jisung.
You met him on the first day of college orientation. He latched onto you immediately, claiming that you were the only one who seemed nice enough to be friends with someone as annoying as him. You thought he was just trying to be funny, but after three days non-stop with hi, you learned the hard way he was being dead seriously. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), he was annoying in the exact same way as you, so the two of you got along splendidly.
Seungmin on the other hand had no choice in his relationship with Jisung. Neighbors by chance, childhood friends by force, the two of them were attached at the hip all throughout middle school and high school. In what your boyfriend describes as a cruel twist of fate, Jisung even ended up following Seungmin to university a few towns over. He jokes about how he’ll never be free of him, but you know Seungmin does actually care a lot about Jisung, even if he refuses to admit it.
Once it became apparent that you were a permanent fixture in his life, Jisung made it his duty to connect the bridge between his two best friends. Unfortunately for him, however, you and Seungmin don’t have the smoothest of starts.
The day that Jisung tries to introduce you is probably the worst day possible. You are irritated and sleep deprived, and Seungmin is a week out from the deadline for his biggest presentation of the semester. In short, the two of you are teetering on the edge of sanity and are a little more than a bit exasperated with Jisung himself.
After staying up all night studying for an exam, the last thing you want is to get wasted and stay out past 2am, and yet that is the most likely fate you face when Jisung drags you out to a party against your will.
You really don’t want to be here, but—well, you figure that since you have nothing else to do, you might as well take a chance to de-stress. The party is still in its first leg and hasn’t grown into the rager that it undoubtedly will be, so it is relatively easy to venture into the kitchen and grab a drink.
The first time you lay eyes on Kim Seungmin is when you make your way back to Jisung. The two of them are standing in the backyard, locked in a tepid conversation as you approach.
“Seriously, Jisung,” Seungmin says, running a hand through his hair. “This is why you dragged me out of the library?”
The first thing you notice is how hot he is. Tall, strong jawline, angular face, chocolate eyes.
The second thing you notice, almost immediately after, is how unhappy he looks to be here. Even more unhappy than you.
“C’mon,” Jisung whines, tugging on Seungmin’s arm. “It’s just for a little bit, and I promise Y/N is cool! Is it a crime that I want my best friends to be friends?”
“It is when I have a ten page paper due tomorrow,” Seungmin mutters.
You don’t blame him for being pissy, but something about the way he says it, with such clear disdain in his voice, rubs you the wrong way.
“Nice to meet you too,” you say sarcastically as you come to a stop next to them.
“Y/N, there you are!” Jisung exclaims happily, latching on to your arm too.
You take a sip of your drink, pushing down the wince that threatens to spread across your face at the taste of pure battery acid jungle juice. And the entire time, you maintain eye contact with Seungmin, never breaking even as you swallow.
To his credit, Seungmin stares back with no hesitation. If you hadn’t been annoyed with him, you probably would have found his confidence insanely attractive. Instead, it annoys you even more.
And while the two of you are locked in an intense staredown, Jisung stands in between you, one arm still linked with yours and the other with Seungmin’s.
“Y/N,” Jisung begins excitedly. “This is Seungmin. Seungmin, this is Y/N.”
“Right,” Seungmin says dryly. “No offense. I’m sure you’re great...”
The rest of the sentence is implied: “...but I have better things to do right now.”
“You too,” you can’t resist jabbing back.
“So nice to meet you,” Seungmin says briskly. It’s not rude, but it’s not not.
“Not sure if I can say the same,” you respond, a smile stretching across your face despite the acid in your tone.
“G-Guys...” Jisung interrupts nervously, but neither of you notice.
“Right...” Seungmin says again, nodding slowly.
Despite your abrasive remark, he doesn’t show much reaction. His apathy is like an itch under your skin; in the end, that is what annoys you the most.
(Now, you love how cool and collected Seungmin can be. But back then, when you first met him, you hated it.)
“Well,” Seungmin turns to Jisung, who has gone as pale as a sheet by now.
“We met. I’m going to go now.”
“W-What—?” Jisung stutters. Before he can intervene, Seungmin nods once at you and turns, taking three long strides away from you.
By the time Jisung finally finds his words again, Seungmin has already disappeared.
The next time you meet Seungmin is at one of the first movie nights at Hyunjin and Minho’s. It has been a few weeks since Jisung’s failed attempt to introduce you, and you are already cozy on the couch next to Felix when Seungmin walks in.
Jisung is in the middle of telling a very animated story to Minho when he spots Seungmin and immediately freezes. The color leeches from his face so fast that you think he might pass out, but it is only when he looks quickly between you and Seungmin that you realize exactly why he looks so nervous.
“Min,” Felix says happily. “You made it!”
Seungmin nods, his eyes briefly passing over you before he spots the empty spot next to Chan and makes a beeline for it.
After a little time and a lot of sleep (and maybe just a tad bit of reflection) you have come to the realization that maybe your reaction to Seungmin at the party wasn’t warranted. After all, he was entitled to be annoyed at Jisung and the situation in general, and it wasn’t you specifically that he was irritated about, so you have no reason to take it personally or hold a grudge.
Which is why you’re not annoyed at Seungmin’s presence. tonight. Instead, you can’t help but feel a little bit... awkward. Chagrined, maybe?
You might feel calm but Jisung is two seconds away from pissing his pants. In fact, he’s so desperate to clear up any misunderstandings that halfway through the movie he texts you for an emergency rendezvous in the kitchen.
“IpromiseIdidn’tknowhewasgoingtocometonight!” Jisung blurts out in one breath once you two are away from the rest of the guys.
“Okay...?” You raise a brow.
“So, like,” he blabbers, “don’t hate me! I love you both and I’m sorry for forcing you guys to meet—”
“—Jisung,” you interrupt. “It’s okay.”
“Really?” He asks uncertainly.
“Really,” you affirm.
“Okay,” he nods, and you feel the overwhelming urge to give him a paper bag to breathe into. Not because that is the proper treatment for hyperventilation—precisely because it isn’t, and maybe if he passes out then he’ll stop worrying.
When you walk back into the living room, Seungmin doesn’t even look up at you, but you have the strangest feeling that he knows exactly what you and Jisung were talking about.
Later that night, you loiter around the apartment a little bit longer than you usually would, just to avoid leaving at the same time as Seungmin. Your plan backfires, though, when Jisung has to leave early. You try to hang around a little bit longer, but then Minho and Hyunjin start to wonder why you are still there, and you have no choice but to leave.
Which is how you end up trailing awkwardly after Seungmin on your walk back to your apartment. It takes him precisely two minutes to notice that you are behind him, and then three more before he comes to a halt.
“I’m not following you!” You insist immediately. “My place is just in this direction too.”
“Okay.”
“Okay...” you parrot back awkwardly.
“So,” Seungmin begins a moment later. “I just... I wanted to apologize.”
“What?”
“For that night at the party,” he clarifies. “I was kind of... no, I was very stressed. And rude. It wasn’t cool for me to treat you like that.”
You are so stunned you don’t know what to say.
“Jisung speaks very highly of you,” Seungmin continues. “And I swear, if it had been any other day, I wouldn’t have been such a dick. Not that it’s any excuse...”
“Well,” you begin, a warm blush spreading over your cheeks. “I don’t think that’s really your fault. I was kind of a bitch, too.”
His serious facade cracks and a small hint of a smile peeks through.
“Either way,” Seungmin says. “I did actually want to make a good impression, believe it or not, so... Do you think we could start over?”
You don’t even have to think before you respond, “I’ll gladly erase that version of Y/N you met for this one. I promise, I’m not always that rude.”
His face breaks into a bigger smile, and it almost takes your breath away.
“Well,” he says. “That makes two of us.”
That is the beginning of your friendship with Seungmin. After that first movie night, you start to see him more frequently on campus. Then, the new semester starts, and you find that the two of you share an intro to film class.
Almost naturally, the two of you start to hang out more and more, and you begrudgingly realize that maybe Jisung was on to something when he insisted that the two of you meet.
It is only when you’re too deep in and the feelings (romantic, of course) for Seungmin have really started to take root do the two of you realize—even though you rehabilitated your relationship, Jisung still thinks you hate each other.
This realization hits on a Friday at a party that Changbin drags the entire group to. This time, thankfully, both you and Seungmin do want to be there, and the night is going well.
(At least, as well as it can when you are grappling with the complicated newfound feelings you have for a recent friend-slash-study buddy.)
Then, in the midst of a tequila the midst of a tequila-induced haze, Jeongin finds you and Seungmin on the dancefloor.
“Hey!” he shouts. “You guys are friends, right?”
Seungmin looks at you, then shrugs.
“Yeah!” You shout back.
“Then why,” Jeongin asks, “is Jisung about to have a mental breakdown about you two?”
“What do you mean?”
He keeps whining to Changbin about how horrible it is that you two hate each other!”
“We don’t—” You begin.
The realization hits you and Seungmin at the same time, and it’s like you can see the lightbulb go off in his head.
“Oh...” you mutter.
“Oh,” he agrees.
“You guys are weird!” Jeongin shouts, eyes flitting between the two of you as you stare at each other.
“Heyyyyyy!” Jisung shouts even louder, his voice anxious as he comes to a stop between you and Seungmin.
“How are you both doing?”
His nervousness is almost laughable, but when you look at Seungmin, there is a devious twinkle in his eyes.
By now, you know him pretty well. And that look? It tells you only one thing: that he’s about to do something to fuck around with Jisung.
“I’m fine,” Seungmin says primly. His tone is such a stark contrast to how he was speaking only moments ago—it is guarded and prickly, and you catch on immediately.
“Who knows,” you mutter a moment later, going along with Seungmin.
“So you guys—” Jisung begins wearily.
“He keeps following me,” you point out.
“She keeps following me,” Seungmin rebutts.
“R-Really?” Jisung asks nervously.
“Whatever,” you roll your eyes. “I’m going to find Felix.”
Seungmin averts his gaze quickly, but not before you see the way he is biting back his laugh. And when you turn on your heel and head outside, a smile is plastered to your face as Jisung begins to badger him with questions.
The smile remains glued in place as the sound of Seungmin fibbing fades into the background.
That is the first time you pretend to still dislike each other in front of Jisung. The next time it happens is right before Hyunjin’s birthday when Felix ropes everyone into baking brownies for him. After that, it is when you and the guys go paintballing and you and Seungmin end up on opposite teams.
The fun of it is always how flustered Jisung gets. None of your other friends actually believe that you and Seungmin dislike each other—they know better than that. But Jisung, with his whole chest, thinks you and Seungmin hate each other. (Never mind the fact that you can’t look at him without hearts in your eyes...)
Once the charade started, you and Seungmin never clarified how long you were going to play along with it. Eventually, months have passed, and then when he finally works up the guts to ask you out officially, the face remains firmly in place.
Which is how you wind up here, six months later and happily dating, with your mutual best friend under the assumption that you guys actually hate each other.
“What are you thinking so hard about?” Seungmin asks as he takes a sip from his iced Americano.
“How irritating you were when we first met,” you say wistfully, tapping your fingers affectionately on the back of his hand.
“Hmmm? I recall you being just as irritating,” Seungmin tells you.
“Me?” You gasp. “I’m an angel. I could never.”
“More like a devil in disguise,” he rolls his eyes.
“If I’m a devil, what does that say about you?”
“What can I say? I love charity work,” he declares dramatically. “You’re my community service project.
“I’m telling your mom,” you attempt to pull your hand out of his, and this time you succeed.
A pout stretches across his face, and it only takes a few seconds for you to break and lace your fingers with his once again.
“You’re scared of my mom,” Seungmin challenges, a lazy smirk stretching across his face.
Butterflies swim through your stomach, but you shove them down at the obvious jab.
“I’m not scared of her!” You insist. “I’m scared of meeting her. There’s a difference.”
“Sure, babe,” he nods solemnly.
“I’m serious!”
“I’m sure you are,” he placates.
“Stop looking at me like that,” now it is your turn to pout.
“Like what?” He asks innocently.
“Like you think I’m cute.”
“But I do think you’re cute,” Seungmin points out.
“Well,” you say, flustered. “Stop!”
“It’s your fault for looking like that,” he says. “I’m not making you do that. In fact, don’t you think it’s more unfair for me?”
“How?” You narrow your eyes.
“I should be the cute one in the relationship,” he says like its obvious. “It’s not fair that you’re more adorable than me.”
“Awww, Seung,” you light up.
“I think you’re very adorable, and—” you coo, but stop short when something outside the coffee shop window catches you by surprise.
“—And I hate you,” you finish shortly, shoving Seungmin’s hand out of yours and crossing your arm with a huff.
“What?” He mutters, confused. “Wait, what just happened? Did I do something wrong?”
You roll your eyes, scooting your chair away from him. A distinctive chime rings, indicating that the door has been opened and then closed.
“Babe—” He begins, but then he stops too.
“Bab-y,” Seungmin says derisively, arranging his face into a mask of cool disdain.
“I’m calling you a baby.”
“Nice save,” you mouth, and Seungmin sticks his tongue out at you.
“Y/N,” Jisung’s voice comes behind you. “Seungmin! What are you guys doing here... Together?”
He sounds equal parts shocked and horrified, and for a moment you feel bad for him.
Then you remember that time last month when he woke you up at the ass crack of dawn and dragged you on a hike up a mountain, only to abandon you halfway up because he got a call from the girl he’s been hooking up with to come over, and you suddenly don’t feel bad anymore.
“Our professor assigned a group project,” Seungmin fibs seamlessly. “Y/N and I got paired up.”
“No need to sound so annoyed,” you say sweetly, kicking him under the table.
(It’s less of a kick and more of you playing footsies with him, but it has the desired effect when Jisung’s eyes flit nervously around and Seungmin’s finger twitches ever so slightly towards your hand.)
“Who said I’m annoyed about it?” Seungmin asks, a serene smile stretching across his face.
“You did,” you tell him. “Many times, actually.”
“I’m more than annoyed. Exasperated, maybe, or incensed.
“Anyways,” you roll your eyes, barely able to keep your laughter at bay.
The funniest part about this conversation is that Seungmin isn’t completely lying.
Although the two of you aren’t currently working on anything, you were paired up a few weeks ago. Throughout the project, he couldn’t stop complaining about how annoying it was to be paired up with you—he claimed you were a pretty distraction, and that he couldn’t be expected to get any work done around you when he could kiss you instead.
“What are you doing here, Jisung?”
“I was just passing by!” He says shrilly, a little bit too fast.
Your raise an eyebrow. Recently, any time Jisung finds you and Seungmin in a (fake) argument, he can’t seem to escape fast enough. Individually, he has no problem being around you two. But it’s like he’s afraid to be standing in the blast zone when it comes to you and Seungmin together—which, in your opinion, is hilarious.
The farce, then, is both amusing and beneficial, which is probably why you and Seungmin have dragged it out for so long. Because god knows, if Jisung knew that you and Seungmin actually liked each other, he would never give you any alone time.
His two best friends being friends is his dream. His two best friends dating? Frankly, you’re scared to see how he would act...
“Passing by?” Seungmin asks. “This far away from campus?”
“Yup!” Jisung exclaims cheerily. “And would you look at that? It’s already 4pm. I’ve got to go! I’ll see you later, bye!”
He is already inching towards the door before he begins speaking. By the time he has squeezed all the words out, his hands are on the door.
You barely have the chance to say a quick “bye!” before he swings the door open and rushes out.
You and Seungmin watch through the window as Jisung speed walks away from the coffee shop, his fingers gripping his bag tightly.
And then, when he is out of sight, you both burst into laughter.
“Sorry babe,” you pout, reaching for Seungmin’s hand once the coast is clear. “I don’t actually hate you.”
“Well, unfortunately,” he clicks his tongue. “I was actually calling you a baby.”
Your pout deepens.
“But you’re my baby,” Seungmin amends, giving you a little kiss on the cheek. You sigh happily, scooting close so you can link your arm through his.
“D’you think we should tell him sometime soon?” You ask.
A moment of silence passes.
“Nah,” Seungmin says finally.
“Really?”
“He was a menace to me throughout high school,” he says. “This is my revenge.
“Okay...” You say uncertainly.
“And, if you think about it,” Seungmin goes on. “It’s his fault that he still hasn’t noticed after all this time. All the other guys know. Even Hyunjin knows.”
“You know, that is a good point.”
“Thanks babe,” he kisses your cheek again, a smirk on his face. “I know it is.”
“Oh, hush,” you mutter, not entirely happy with how smug he looks.
But then, he leans in and finally kisses you on the lips, and you forget why you were annoyed with him in the first place.
