Are you dreaming of #vanlife ? In 2020, I definitely was. I discovered a few @youtube channels that inspired and motivated me to begin my own nomadic journey! Those channels got me hooked on YouTube at the same time. They are channels like Chrome’s over at Vancity Vanlife. And @thenomadicmovement & @trentandallie were in there too. The draw of the open road and meeting others living this way already is what initially drew me in. It looked like a simple yet challenging lifestyle. Now, going on two years later, I see there’s much more to it than that. There’s this whole community of people who will support and help you reach your dreams and goals. A community full of new friends and nomads at various points of the journey. In 2020, I was a newbie to Vanlife. I built out my minivan camper and traveled to 4 National Parks. Across 14 states, I attended 8 meet-ups and even started my own website in the process. There is still a long way to go before I can mark all 63 National Parks and 48 states off my list. Until then, I’ll continue to share my journey and knowledge with you. I have so much to share and wildly enough, not even two years later, van life is a reality for me. Do you like storage solutions for your minivan camper conversion? I wanted to moved my Jackery 1000 to this area next to the kitchen cabinet so I thought up this mini platform/shelf. But to get it to work, I had to take off one of the drawers in my three drawer plastic storage unit. I previous painted these drawers green and I will paint the added shelf to match. And because my van’s Jack and tire iron are located in the panel on the left in this area, I will be adding hinges to the cabinet side of this new shelf and removing the mega you can see here on the left. This will allow me to raise up this shelf when I need to access my Jack.
