Im Herzen von der quirligen Stadt Marrakesh steht die alte Medersa Ben Youssef Koran-Schule. Die Medersa Ben Youssef ist eine ehemalige Koranschule im Herzen der Medina der marokkanischen Stadt Marrakesch. Die Medersa wurde wahrscheinlich um das Jahr 1340 gegründet. Diese tollen Verzierungen entstanden aber erst um 1570. Seit dem Jahr 1960 ist der Lehrbetrieb in dieser Koran-Schule eingestellt und zum Museum umgestaltet. Nun können Touristen das ganze besichtigen und tolle Bilder von den Mosaiken machen. The medersa Ben Youssef is a medersa, Koranic school. A jewel of Saadian architecture, it is located in Marrakech, Morocco. General description: Its plan is inscribed in a square and it has a floor. The walls are made of terracotta bricks, entirely masked by plaster and decorations. The exterior facades have only rare and small skylights and are not decorated. You enter the Ben Youssef Madrasah through a long corridor which opens into a vestibule, which opens at a right angle to the west side of the large courtyard. The rectangular courtyard is paved with marble and has a basin in its center. Its east side, particularly decorated, has a porch opening onto the prayer room. Two galleries occupy the entire length of the south and north sides, opening onto the courtyard under five arches each. Opposite the front door, on the other side of the rectangular basin, opens the prayer hall consisting of three naves delimited by marble pillars supporting arches with facades chiseled with ornamental motifs.
