I love your charactazation of both reader and Silco in this. The power imbalance, I love the way you handled the atmosphere. I was holding my breath most of the time and my stomach was turning when you described their relationship. As unhealthy and dangerous as it may be, fuck it, reader is so fucking humane in the way he thinks, the way he wants Silco's approval. It makes me think about what happens if he fails in one of his tasks and comes back bloodied, outnumbered by enforcers who don't answer to Silco, but carrying with him the thing Silco wanted. A few glowing stones, hanging heavily in a bloodied palm. Or maybe under his tongue if he feared he might drop them on his way back. Maybe his arm is broken, or a few fingers, and he falls on the carpet in front of Silco's desk because he's just so exhausted. He makes himself move, though. Enough to sit up on his knees and look up at him, holding the stones in his good hand. Sorry for getting carried away -- I'm still trying to wrap my head around how hot was that scene you wrote.
