people shipping olimar and louie are so funny to me. you think louie is going to be a more attentive lover than olimars wife? louis pikmin? you think he's going to be a good father to those kids?

louie just wants to be left alone, and the only time he would want attention is to infodump about his latest recipe. after that he will walk away and eat in peace. you think he would want to be around children whos palates have yet to develop appreciation for the finer ingredients?

louie didnt even remember what olimar looked like. you think hes gonna be a better lover 2 him? louie would spend all of olimar's money just as easily on kitchen renovations. olimar has seniority over louie so his paycheck, though meager, is definitely better than louie's.

louie would also, on purpose, go missing under mysterious circumstances on pnf 404 and would do his best to never be found if given the option

other people can articulate this better but im really sad that palworld of all things is taking off, especially when series that are actually lovingly crafted with unique creatures and lore like digimon/yokai watch/monster rancher/etc were dismissed for being 'soulless pokemon ripoffs' and then the ACTUAL soulless ripoff gets big

and people try to say you're defending nintendo/gamefreak when you criticize palworld really dismissively.

like. if i want to 'stick it to nintendo', and play a game with luxray and cinderace, i'll just pirate some actual pokemon games?

and even beyond pokemon, there's tons of indie games out there in the creature training genre (monster crown comes to mind) that have a lot of heart and effort put into them, i'd much rather give them my money.

there's also a ton of pokemon fangames out there with a lot of effort put into them that are, for the most part, completely free to play.

tl;dr regardless of ai being used in this game or not, i feel the same way about palworld as i do about ai. why do i want to play soulless stolen copies of something when i could play games with actual heart and effort put into them?

if you really wanna be anti-corporation, play some indie or fangames where its obvious the devs really cared about what they were putting into the world, doing their best to create something unique that the pokemon games themselves don't offer, yknow?
