chrobin week 2022 ✶ day three ✶ birds

i and thou, from the one to the dual, from the dual to the other, the wonderful, unending, unfathomable process of becoming each our selves, for each other.

a few years ago i watched two birds of prey circling each other in the sky, and was moved to tears. that experience was the beginning of this image, i’ve had it in my mind for awhile. no matter my age, or where i am in life, the concept of the dual has moved me, whether it be inter or intrapersonal. this piece, in turn, means the world to me. 

i have been obsessed with the concept of the pas de deux, and of dancing itself, mirroring movement in such an intuitive way. chrom and his tactician are always performing their pas de deux, whether it be in battle, or in word — two halves of a greater whole, they complete each other. this pas de deux was referenced for the pose, as i’ve had the song on repeat. it encapsules every feeling i wove into this piece, as does the poem “growing”, excerpt above. even then, there are so many more symbols to discuss — the yarrow, the eagles, the stars! i could go on for so long. i’m sad that it looks so crunched here, it is meant to be looked at closely!
