The concept of prophetic visions and dreams in The Sandman universe is objectively hilarious when you realize it automatically involves Destiny, Dream, and Delirium, and Destiny being absolutely fed up with his younger siblings messing with his domain.
…which is probably why there are far more records of prophetic visions than prophetic dreams but the symbolism in visions is…incredibly trippy and often unsettling. But the earliest stories of either leans more in favor of prophetic dreams.
Dream doesn’t mess with his siblings domains lightly, and either asks permission, first, or has Lucienne keep a record of the tab owed to Destiny over this.
Delirium, however…
Yeah…she’s just that youngest sibling who messes with your stuff and as infuriated as you are with her it’s often as productive as shouting at a baby because she WILL cry and rip her hair out and never grasp why her actions upset you.
(so Dream gets the brunt of Destiny’s Ire. even when Desire Did It.)

a. Look, the Dream responsible for Twilight was one of the more loyal subjects to Lord Morpheus, given the whole deal with Edward Cullen. It had been meant as an affectionate tribute.
b. Dream was still in the gods-be-damnned fishbowl when Twilight came out and was more than a bit discombobulated when he and Lucienne later found out that there was a wing of the Library dedicated to it and its fan fiction. Matthew helpfully steered Dream away from anything resembling "fifty shades."
"Look, Boss, you've gone through enough suffering this century. Don't look, don't ask, trust me on this."
c. Dream absolutely reserves the right to torment anyone for the whole Twilight thing and for the love of Glory, he is definitely NOT Edward Cullen. And obviously he was very much happily married to his uh... Bella, a.k.a. Hob Gadling, even if he's still trying to figure out how to get back at him for the "little adorable eldritch abomination" crack. Ah, married life.
d. For the record, they don't plan to have a "Renesmee" in their future, even if Hob had the strangest dream of cuddling the cutest little baby (who had a very decided resemblance to His Darkness, with the fluffy black hair and the brilliant blue eyes) and teaching the little tot that "Shaxbert is yucky!" Dream still hasn't figured out which of his Dreams was responsible for that and he's fairly sure that wasn't prophetic. Fairly. Sure.

So I was talking with @ghostboyjules about Tragic Dreamling Songs, and ended up accidentally plotting out a Dreamling fic based on the elder scrolls: oblivion?
(You do not need to know anything about oblivion to understand this, I promise. Hear me out.)
Dream is a mage specializing in illusion/mind control type-magic. He's technically of royal blood, but he's the spare of a spare of a spare and he'd only end up on the throne if literally everyone died. As a teenager, he was an arrogant little shit about this, right up until he accidentally got a lover killed while digging into Eldritch Magic. He then hid himself away in a backwater town, as an extremely solitary artist.
He's living peacefully, if not happily, right up until a gate to hell opens in the middle of his town. He takes sanctuary in a church with some other citizens, and is essentially just there waiting to make a tragic last stand when hell's soldiers inevitably bust in (he's a POWERFUL mage but even he can't stand alone against hell).
And all of a sudden the doors burst open and- it's not a demon.
It is Some Guy, in mismatched armor he clearly looted off a dead man. He doesn't look like he's bathed in months. Even from a distance he reeks of smoke and sulfur.
"I'm looking for the artist," he says.
(putting the rest under a readmore because dear GOD it got long)
"How the fuck did you get here," Dream's neighbors say. "There is a hellgate outside."
"Oh, I destroyed it," the man says. "What, like it's hard?"
There's a lot of confusion after that; the man has news from the outside world. This hellgate wasn't an isolated incident- a mage named Burgess who'd had a grudge against the royal family made a deal with the Devil to have them assassinated. The unfortunate side effect of this deal is that now Lucifer has access to the earth, and is opening hellgates in order to take over completely.
This particular hellgate is closed, though; the man goes off with some soldiers to retake the rest of the town, but eventually he finds Dream again. He still hasn't bathed, but at least someone gave him a suit of armor that doesn't technically belong to a corpse.
He tells Dream that his name is Hob, and he's been sent by the royal family's librarian to find Dream because everybody else above him in the line of succession is dead. Surprise, Dream's the Emperor now.
Dream, petty, is like "They sent you?"
Hob's like "Yeah and I was in jail for several murders so you can see how bad things have gotten."
(I think Hob's just a bandit trying to make himself sound cool but I'm open to saying he's an assassin)
Hob eventually proves that he's working for the royal family (and apparently the deceased emperor had a prophetic dream about him?), and brings Dream to Lucienne. She explains that there's a ritual, technically part of the coronation ceremony, that they can do to close the hellgates and banish Lucifer. Only problem is it requires artifacts or relics connected to seven eldritch, powerful deities. One from each, except the god of Dreams- the rulers of this land had special ties to the King of Dreams so he needs to take precedence in the ritual. He's got three.
As the ruler-to-be-with-said-special-ties-to-the-King-of-Dreams, Dream is the only one who can actually complete this ritual. He can't risk his life, and the members of the royal court left after everybody got assassinated are, you know... the librarian. Very knowledgeable, limited combat skills. So the person who keeps getting sent out to retrieve these relics and/or the thing they need to find the relic- is Hob.
Dream, who grudgingly grew to kinda enjoy Hob's company while Hob was escorting him to Lucienne, bids him goodbye the first time expecting him to die.
Hob shows up three weeks later, long after everyone had given up hope. When asked why it took so long he says he got sidetracked and ended up stuck in a painting for a few days? And then he had to rescue this girl from a cult? it was very important. But anyway, he's got the sand!
And this just keeps happening. Dream keeps expecting Hob to get killed looking for these relics, Hob, against all odds, keeps surviving. Dream's actually starting to think they have a hope of winning this.
He and Hob grow closer in the brief moments they can snatch when Hob's not off nearly getting himself killed. He learns that Hob is actually decently handsome when he's bathed.
When Hob returns after winning the relic from the goddess of Death, having actually spoken to her in the process, Dream yells at him for his recklessness for a full ten minutes, before pulling a startled Hob into a hug that is extremely painful on his bruised ribs. Hob doesn't complain.
That night, Dream confesses how he got his first love killed. They were looking into drawing on these eldritch gods for magic- the King of Dreams, specifically, because clearly Dream, a member of the royal family, would be powerful enough to control the god with connections to the royal family. His lover thought they should stop, Dream pushed on anyway, she paid the price for it.
Hob, in turn, confesses how he'd turned to banditry, that at first it was because he was literally starving to death but at a certain point it became too easy not to see people as people. They grow closer after that- they were already close, Hob managed to figure out Dream better in their brief meetings than anyone else has, and Dream's somehow done the same for Hob even though Hob's much more of an open book, but it goes deeper, now.
Not long afterwards, Hob needs to go retrieve the Dream King's ruby, the final piece of the Close the Hellgates spell. And... there's no way he survives this. It's being held in a pocket dimension belonging to Burgess. Sure, Hob's survived everything up until this point but this entire dimension is controlled by Burgess. It's not possible for him to survive there. And yet it's their only option.
(Dream tries to tell Hob he loves him, here. Hob presses a brief kiss to his cheek and tells him to say it when Hob gets back.)
Hob leaves. Dream is still the ruler, and in public he keeps it together, is having everyone prepare for battle, but inside he's a wreck. He's doomed two lovers to death, and for what.
And just when he's convinced himself that this was all worthless, Hob comes back. He is even filthier than the first time Dream saw him and his arm's been broken and set wrong and he's wearing corpse armor again! Why does he keep doing that!
Absolutely none of this stops Dream from flying into his arms immediately and kissing the life out of him.
"I thought you'd died," Dream tells him later, in private.
"I won't," Hob assures him. "I've decided not to."
Dream isn't sure if he finds this comforting.
So like! Tides have turned! Things are great! Dream and Hob are stupidly in love! They are making it everyone else's problem, just a bit!
But then, as they're about to complete the Close the Hellgates spell, Lucifer gets the upper hand. Demons are pouring into their hideout, there's no time to finish the ritual, everyone's going to die.
But, Dream thinks. If he can't properly finish the ritual, he can... overload it. The magic equivalent of closing a door by melting it shut rather than locking it. It'll kill him, for sure. But the Hellgates will close.
He's about to do it.
But then Hob, who knows Dream better than Dream knows himself at this point, says, "Fuck. No. Wait. I didn't want to do this but- I'll buy you time."
His face is grim, in a way it hadn't been any of the times Dream sent him to certain death.
And Dream, even though he'd been about to do the self-sacrifice ploy literally five seconds ago, is immediately like "No. I can't let you do this. I can't let you die for me."
And Hob, sheepish, is like "...remember that time you yelled at me for ten minutes straight about how dangerous it is to interact with the Eldritch Beings that Control the Universe, I should not under any circumstances have spoken with one?"
"Yes?" Dream says, not fond of where this is going.
"I may not have been. Entirely honest with you. About what I did," Hob says. In the flickering light of the single torch that's still lit, a sudden gleam appears in his eyes, too steady to be a trick of the light. "I may have. Made a deal. With Death. I won't die for you, because I can't."
And as much as Dream would love to yell at Hob for that one, there are more immediate problems, so Hob goes to guard the door and Dream goes to complete the ritual properly.
Even though he's doing the ritual properly, Dream has to shatter the ruby to complete it. Instead of killing him, all the power from the ruby flows into him-
and he remembers that he's one of the Eldritch Entities in Charge of the Universe. What he'd thought of as 'digging Too Deep into magic and getting his girlfriend killed' was... essentially that, he'd had a mortal lover, they Dug Too Deep Into Magic together. In the fallout, she got killed and he got turned mortal.
Which was kind of a cluster to begin with- none of his siblings knew what had happened to him, and they still have strict rules governing what they can do and probably wouldn't have been able to interfere if they had. His people weren't sure what would happen to him if he died as a mortal, and were frantically trying to figure out a way to get him back, but everything they could come up with was Extremely Finnicky Rituals. Even aside from the practicalities of enacting an Extremely Finnicky Ritual, none of them could figure out how to trick Dream into doing it. Human!Dream is exactly as stubborn as Regular!Dream, and about 90% more distrustful of Eldritch Magic.
And then Lucifer got summoned by Burgess, saw a chance to take out one of the Cosmic Powers that Be while he was weakened, and jumped on it.
The whole 'ruling family is the only one who can stop Lucifer via an Eldritch Ritual' thing was a con, on Lucienne's part. Dream-on-earth had been lead to believe he was royalty to account for... the fact that he is, on a cosmic scale.
Lucienne, when she realized what Lucifer was doing, came up with a plan to have Dream do the Give-Dream-His-Powers-Back ritual in a way that fit with human!Dream's narrative (not only to save his life but also because Dream was uniquely situated to stop Lucifer from taking over the world- he was attacked first, he's not bound by any 'don't intervene' rules).
Also she sent the former emperor a prophetic dream about Hob because Human!Dream desperately needed a bodyguard. Why Hob? He was the best available option of 'people near the emperor at that point in time.' It worked better than anyone could have expected.
Anyway. Dream is Dream-Dream again, he makes short work of Lucifer and goes to find Hob, who is very dead.
So Dream is standing in the corner, quietly having a yup you did it you killed two lovers in a row crisis, completely unable to move, when his sister shows up and says, "Again???" in a deeply exasperated tone.
He's too distraught to be offended.
And then he realizes she's not talking to him.
Death waves her hand, and suddenly Hob is a person again instead of a bloody wreck on the ground. He sits up with a groan that sounds like he'd just spent the night sleeping on the floor, not literally died.
"Thanks," he says to Death, scrambling to his feet.
"Don't mention it," she replies. "Could you please just wait a week before dying for this guy again?"
"I make no promises," Hob tells her. She gives him a look.
"He's worth it, alright?" Hob says, "I-" and then his eyes, scanning the room for threats, find Dream, and a smile dawns on his face. He turns his back on Death- turns his back! on Death!- to run over to Dream, picking him up and swinging him around before pulling him into a kiss. "Your eyes," he says, wonderingly, cupping Dream's cheek in one hand as he breaks the kiss, "Is that from the spell? Does it hurt? They're beautiful, but-"
"They. Do not hurt," Dream says, and then winces. His voice is back to an eldritch rumble, deep enough that it's both felt and heard, and Hob seems too dazed to be bothered by his eyes but surely this will affect him-
"Good," Hob says, snuggling contentedly against Dream again. "Glad you're safe," he murmurs.
"Hob," Death says, quietly stunned, because this whole time her brother's been missing-maybe-dead and she's been distracting herself by helping this cute lil no-longer-mortal save the mortal king he's in love with. And now here her brother is. Safe. Alive. Being snuggled.
"Oh, right, I need to introduce you!" Hob says, twisting in Dream's arms so he can look at Death. "This is-"
"That's my brother."
(And then there are several tearful reunions, and Dream has to be assured by both Death and Hob several times that Hob is VERY not-mortal now and also VERY willing to make contracts with eldritch entities and that includes marriage contracts, nudge nudge. And then Hob and Dream kiss a lot and live happily every after the end)

I've always been a huge supporter of the whole, seers/prophets/oracles fall under Destiny's dominion. And I love the idea of the silent assistants of The Garden of Forking Ways being the likes of Nostradamus, Cassandra and Mother Shipton etc. (Or the Zodiac.. But never mind that for now). However, today I was pondering over it, and realised if Destiny never reads ahead in his book...Technically he'd be surrounded by a staff that all know more about future events then he does. 😆 Can you imagine the likes of Agnes Nutter, 'Lucienneing' herself around Destiny's realm...
Agnes : Alrig't, ye have just enough time a for quick turn round yer garden, a bowl of bran flakes... Then get yer nicest robe on. Yer li''l sister will be ere at three. Ye best not be tardy!
Destiny: (Checks his book) Indeed.

I see you have a book out! What’s it called and what’s it about? How do I find this wonderful thing?
I do! It’s quite good, but of course I think that I wrote it for myself. It’s called False Idols and it’s currently on Amazon since I self published because trying to go through a publishing house was a special kind of hell that I wasn’t prepared for.
False Idols is the story of Lucienne Prophet, the last surviving member of a group of three friends who were fighting against the end of the world. Michael, once her friend, was the Chosen One who was going to stop the end of the world according to prophecy. It’s too bad that he’s dead now. With no options left and people around her dying left and right she’s going to find a way to stop the apocalypse or die trying.
It’s also the story of Aracelis, the last Orsan blood mage left after the nation of light massacred her entire people. She is going to have to chose her allies carefully as the light god wants her dead at any cost and Lucienne Prophet, her one and only friend, is a powerful person within the nation of light as she’s trying to save them from utter destruction.
It’s dark and R rated and I do kill people off so there’s a warning for that. (Sasha the loyal war dog survives)
Also I realized as I was doing preparation to start writing the sequel that there’s a bad misprint where part of chapter 7 is missing which I have to fix sooner rather than later and that’s frustrating but I think it still makes sense. Here’s my book! (Don’t read the other book I have out there it’s not good)

Happy FFWF! 💛
Can you bless us with some married!Jeloise headcanons?
Happy FFWF!!! 🧡 aahhhh, my OG ship!
Jim and Héloïse got married at the parish church in the village of Dunsworthy-in-the-Moor, where the Hexleys lived. It was meant to be a small wedding, close family only, but Jim had a lot more close family than Héloïse, so they opened it up to friends as well. Things got a little out of hand, and they ended up having to have their wedding breakfast at the Chudley Cannons homeground, the Hexleys’ garden no longer being big enough to host everyone.
Héloïse originally researched and wrote from home after they had children, but found it hard to concentrate, and she missed having adult conversations. When Jim became increasingly fatigued by his career as a Healer, they decided to swap roles. Jim took up managing the household, and Héloïse returned to academia, eventually becoming a professor of astronomy at Hogwarts, and later, Beauxbatons.
Their children were brought up English/French bilingual, with Héloïse only speaking French to them at home.
Jim never let Héloïse too close to his beehives, only serving to make her more fascinated by their inner workings.
While their son Marius’ future is pretty well mapped out, their daughter Lucienne is a bit of a mystery to me. Part of me thinks that she probably followed her Uncle Lysander’s footsteps into journalism, however.
After the death of her grandmother, Héloïse inherited a rather large sum of money and a château, and a story about this appeared in the Daily Prophet. The following day, Jim received an anonymous letter congratulating him on such an auspicious match. He never found out who the letter was from, but Héloïse had her suspicions.

Contrary to what some people think at first sight of his description, Edgar is not someone who rejects emotions. He might be driven by a mind that craves logic, but his heart is a loyal one and contributes to his decisions greatly. Following positive nihilistic philosophies, he knows the importance of love, of loving, and of living in the moment freely. This being said, while he does enjoy a night full of quick-lived romance, he is mainly a terrible serial monogamist.
Age Fourteen - Ainsley
He was in year four when the kids around him began trying things out. Drinking, flirting, kissing. Removed from everyone as he was at that time, he saw no reason to participate, but when he heard that Amelia too had played such games at a recent party, he grew jealous. The two were still in a process of detaching themselves from the other and the idea to be so purposefully excluded from her adventures lit an angry little fire inside of him.
So he stomped up to one of his (very few) friends, Ainsley, who was herself reading a book in a corner at a Ravenclaw party, and prepared a whole speech about why logically it’s of fundamental use to try some of those games yourself, for the sake of both philosophical and physiological development, and then -- never got a single word out. Instead he just pressed a kiss to her mouth.
“Thank you.” “You’re welcome.”
And they never spoke of it again.
Age Fifteen - Tsi / Fabian
It was in a similar line of thinking that Tsi, a Slytherin, chose Edgar to be her boyfriend. They’d been transfig partners for almost three months, working on a project together, and eventually she decided he’d be good for snogging. Seeing how Amelia, too, just had gotten a boyfriend, Edgar wasn’t very hesitant to agree. He thought it rather agreeable that Tsi didn’t care about his opinions or wishes and just told him what to do, when and how, as it at least alleviated any form of awkwardness -- and taught him a lot.
She broke up with him when the Summer holidays came, with the words: “You’re probably gay anyway.” He was a little upset as to how one could possibly come to such a conclusion, and then spent the Summer drunk and making out with Fabian.
Age Seventeen and Eighteen - Wandering Philosophers
After graduation, Dell invited Edgar to join his little group of Wandering Philosophers. If one has ever seen one of those Summer of Love hippie bus drug montages, one can image what this year abroad was like for Edgar. It was perhaps 1971 and not 1967 but that did not stop the excess of free love and free drugs.
By the end of the year, Edgar had made more experiences than his mind cared to remember, had massively changed his opinions on friendship and other people, and had -- somehow managed to find a steady girlfriend?
Age Nineteen - Janis
Said steady girlfriend came with him back to Hastings. It’s not entirely clear what came first, her or the end of Edgar’s travels, but either way, the moment he’d spoken his first I Love You, he knew he wanted her to come to England with him. As he worked for the West Sussexian Wizarding Paper, they rented a small apartment by the sea, and he was the happiest one could be.
She was not. The American Witch often hinted at him how small the world had become, how the routines felt so terribly familiar, how there was no newness anymore -- and he thought she meant it in a positive way. It turned out, she didn’t. When Edgar stumbled upon Ainsley one day, she suggested he’d join the Daily Prophet in London, and when he told this to Janis, her cry of relief was great.
“Yes, please, Edgar, go!” she said, and in between words of reassurance that she did love him, that she just hated the small town life, she was already packing her own bags.
Age Twenty to Twenty-Two - Lucienne
It took a while for Edgar to recover from Janis basically fleeing from him, but it was all the easier now that he’d moved to London and was close to Amelia. The two had barely been in contact since graduation, and while he’d done nothing but smoke weed and discuss heatedly if Camus or Sartre were superior, she’d worked herself up to the top of the Ministry of Magic. He couldn’t be prouder. But as he waited for their very different lifestyles to clash, they only grew closer and closer again.
This process was brusquely interrupted when Edgar met Lucienne. She was an actress from one of the underground Wizarding Theatres he wrote about regularly, and (as he’d written in one of his reviews) she needn’t no spotlight to make her shine. She was a bright firework herself, wherever she went, people turned heads, and Edgar never fully understood what she saw in him, why she picked him.
But it mustn’t have been pity, for she was the one to suggest he move in with her. The fact that their greatest obsession was also their common interest helped. While Edgar joined the Order and had his mind growing clouded with the dangers of this war, Lucienne always managed to remind him of the world’s beauty as well. They could rehearse, discuss and analyse plays for hours and hours without it ever growing boring, and while the city outside grew dark, at least inside their apartment Lucienne’s light illuminated everything brightly.
Age Twenty Three - London
It was in the Fall of his twenty-second year that Edgar witnessed the first death of someone close in the Order. Some even said he’d been the cause for it. It changed something in him. After the funeral he saw Caradoc cry for the first time. Had the two hated each other up until that point, something connected them over the grave of their friend. Edgar brought him home, not to Lucienne, but to Amelia. They told her about the Order and about their loss, and till this day, Edgar is not sure why he chose Amelia to comfort them. Perhaps if he hadn’t, if he’d brought Caradoc to Lucienne (who was, after all, an anti-bloodpurism activist) everything would’ve been different now.
But as it were, he stayed with Amelia for days, perhaps weeks, incapable to face Lucienne again, until, about a month later, she sent him his things. No letter, nothing attached. Just a clear sign: they were over.
This was the only time that he and Amelia shared a flat, and along with the truth of his political endeavours, this truly sealed their relationship with wax. Ever since having been sorted into two different houses at Hogwarts, they’d slowly but surely grown apart, but now it was as though they were in Mexico all over again. They cooked together, went out together, slept together -- that is in the same bed, of course. Sometimes they brought home someone from a pub, but it was never until they fully reached the bedroom that it became apparent for who that person was meant for. Amelia? Edgar? Neither? Both? Either way, the moment the person was gone the next day (or same night -- after all, the Bones twins were quite good at being hostile to unwanted people) they were clinging together again.
It was during this time that Edgar remembered why he’d changed his writing hand from left to right, once upon a time: it was to hold Amelia’s at all times.
Age Twenty-Three to Twenty-Five - Genevieve
(Un)fortunately, there were still moments they had to spend apart, namely at work. And it was during work (visiting a Muggle play on Drury Lane) that Edgar met Genevieve. She was different from anyone he’d ever met. She was of royal blood and knew her manners, spoke of luxuries and her own charities with ease, while at the same time showing no sign of vanity or arrogance. She loved theatre and due to being a Muggle, knew nothing about the war that was slowly but surely devouring Edgar’s mind.
Edgar realised quickly that if he wanted to keep up with her, he needed to leave Amelia. And so it came that only after about three months of dating, Genevieve bought them an apartment and they moved in together. He was enamored by her every move, every word, every sight. He was incapable of reviewing any plays but romances, began writing terrible poetry himself and -- neglected everyone but her. Had Amelia been the center point of his life only half a year ago, he now barely remembered to reply to her letters, and was the war still raging, he struggled to see its somber colours through his pink glasses.
So it came, that when it turned out that Genevieve was no Muggle at all, but a Muggleborn who’d chosen to live amongst Muggles, something changed. On the one hand, he loved her even more, now capable to show her the House of Bones and introduce her to his family, on the other hand he knew what this meant. And indeed, it didn’t take long until her family was attacked by Death Eaters. The family had once upon a time been closely connected with a family from the Sacred 28, but after the Statue of Secrecy had been established, the ties had been cut. However this didn’t change the fact that the family knew of the Wizarding World, being reminded of it ever so often whenever a new magical child was born.
“My family is in danger and I don’t know what to do.” “Have you heard of the Order of the Phoenix?”
It was the first time Edgar told someone about the Order, other than Amelia. But while Genevieve thought he’d now ask her to join the fight (she was eager to), he told her about this pilot project of theirs, about taking in refugees and helping them to flee.
“You want me to leave?” He wanted to say no, because never had he loved someone as earnestly and deeply as her, but he said “Yes,” and she was too noble and dignified to fight. After all, it really was the smartest decision.
Age Twenty-Six - Tsi
Yes, Tsi from Year Five. What happened in between Genevieve and the heartbreak she caused and Tsi, should be of no mystery anymore: Amelia. They didn’t officially live together this time as she had her own boyfriend, but they still very much spent every waking moment together. Eventually the boyfriend left. Neither of them really acknowledged it. What mattered was that Amelia forgave Edgar for leaving her so suddenly, and he promised to never to it again.
About four months later, Tsi found Edgar. She had barely changed. She was still a fierce and stubborn Slytherin, hungry for power and control, and all too earnest about her urges and desires. So Edgar, still nursing his heartbreak, was willing to submit himself to her demands once more. She was so different from Genevieve it was easy to forget her in Tsi’s commands and willful ideas.
It ended abruptly when Edgar learnt she agreed with Voldemort’s ideas.
Age Twenty-Seven - London Again
Once again heartbroken, Edgar found himself with Amelia again as well. But this time she made him promise to never hurt her again properly.
“No one must come between us again.” “No one will, I promise.”
Amelia was by now an affiliate of the Order and because Edgar was almost certain that the Other Side knew his face and name, he didn’t want to put Amelia in danger by living with her. So he got his own apartment, a little thing in Muggle China Town, and on the nights he doesn’t spend with Amelia or working, he does bring people home. He cannot stand sleeping alone anymore, the silence causing his thoughts to spiral terribly.
So it doesn’t really matter who that warm body is, he’s content as long as he can nestle up to it at night. Sometimes it’s a good friend, drunk, like Fabian, who needs a place to crash, and sometimes it’s a stranger, who Edgar makes sure not to learn anything about, out of fear to fall in love again.

Personal Evaluation
We were asked to create awareness for a social issue of our own choice. However the aim of the module was to emphasise the importance of experimentation by trying various different ways of expressing our ideas and concerns. We were encouraged to take on new challenges and thinking of what other softwares, media, material and production we can produce and skill in. My target audience was quite broad when i was designing and creating my work i wanted to keep the language simple in order to be able to communicate my message effectively throughout different genders and demographic of people. However i wanted my work to specially make a difference in the west where the seems to be a negative representation of Islam which has led to unfortunate consequences in the way Muslims are being treated. In order to be relevant and not biased towards my chosen topic, I researched a lot into islamophobia and where/how it all started. The term Islamophobia refers to the dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force, which isn’t something new it has been occurring since the very early days when Prophet Muhammed was still alive, however the term first started being used around 100 years ago in 1918. Islamophobia specially grew after the horrific incident of 9/11 in 2001 done by unrepresentative extremist group called Al-Qaeda that was when innocent American Muslims civilians were publicly being harassed on the street physically and verbally due to their faith. However, well established newspapers such as Independent Newspaper have reported that Islamophobia is even worse under Trump than after 9/11 attacks. There’s a viral tweet that has been going around saying “We didn’t blame German’s for Hitler, we don’t blame Christians for KKK so do not blame Muslims for ISIS”. This gave me all the background detail i needed in order to begin exploring different ways of pursuing to communicate this message to the world, that at the end of the day we’re all the same, that we’re all human and shouldn’t judge each other based on based on their skin tone, religion or ethnic background. I really wanted the message i send across to make an impact which is why i tried to incorporate elements to my compositions that were identifiable by my audience. As people are more able to feel a connection or sympathy with things that’s identifiable to them. For example the “We can do it!” poster is known worldwide and women feel a special connection with that poster as it empowers us, therefore my poster of Halima would catch women’s attention and hopefully start viewing Muslim women the same way rather than passive beings controlled by Muslim men. Like wise in my video i decided to include Trump in my video has he’s been very controversial in the media since his presidency began, whether you like him or not people like to talk about him.
I started by looking at how other designers used posters to tackle social issues whether it was global warming, mental health or racism. I analysed the way they used text and image to communicate with the reader. I then specifically looked into art work done on islamophobia, where i found a lot of different illustrations and drawing done on the topic. In my research i had also found out that most crime hate against muslims were targeted at muslim women which is why i started sketching a few ideas in my sketchbook that mostly focused on Muslim women. I also sketched something that related to the well known NOH8 campaign however once my sketch was drawn i realised that the poster would be too simplistic and not innovative enough. I drew my Halima ‘Muslim women can do it too!’ poster and saw that it had a lot of potential which is why i decided to develop my idea further on photoshop. Where was with my other poster i got inspired when i was going through all the photographs i had taken in Dubai, and was particularly drawn by the photos i had taken of the two young Arab ladies and how elegant they looked.
I looked into 5 practitioners who had worked closely with social issues as i wanted to get an insight into how professional are hoping to solve these problems. Lucienne Roberts has done a lot raise awareness to mental wellbeing and general health concerns i looked into her exhibition at Wellcome Collection’s called “Can graphic design save your life?”. The key features i found in the posters at her exhibition was that they all had a pale look to them, there were no popping bright colours the colours were all somewhat low saturation. I also looked at Banksy’s work as he’s a graffiti artist and political activist. A lot of the work Banksy has done on social issues such as war, he uses a of imagery of children in them. I also looked into Yi-Fei Chen’s work, her work is definitely different to anyone else work I’ve seen, she doesn’t use a conventional method of conveying her message through deign instead she designs bizarre yet fantastic objects such as the tear gun. I noticed that Fred Martins work is very true to him as he sticks to his own specific style which is like his trade marks of using dripping stretched lines in his illustrations, his posters are clean and straightforward. Lastly i looked at Mauro Gatti, his designs were very childish and happy, he used a lot of bright colours and his work looks very cartoon like. I believe Mauro Gatti’s work had the most impact on my own personal reasoning for my posters. My editing processes switched between Photoshop and Adobe After Effect. I used photoshop to edit my images and used After Effects to edit my video. On photoshop the key editing features i used consisted of magic wand tool for subtracting figures from their background, filter gallery, brushes and different blending mode of layers. I also used Photoshop to draw my illustrations for my video. On After Effects the main editing i used was key framing different features such as scale, position, rotation and opacity. The most time consuming and challenging part about editing my video was making everything flow and making sure all the sound effect i added would be in sync with what was happening on the screen.
I found out in my research that the media is one of the main reason why islamophobia is spreading and becoming more common as they only show negative imagery of Muslims which is why people have developed a bad perception of the religion. So in my first poster i wanted to communicate to the audience that not everything you see in the media is real. Again as i mentioned earlier, i wanted to stand up for Muslim women who seem to be easy target for hate crimes which is why i created the Halima poster and the reason i chose Halima as the face of my poster its due to the fact that she’s a successful modest hijab model working along side famous designers, photographers and she’s working in an industry where nudity sells therefore in order to be doing so greatly with out showing much skin is quite revolutionary which i believe complements the text “Muslim women can do it too!”. Posters was one of my production methods just because they simple yet they allow you to connote a message which makes them affective (if constructed properly) as well as the fact posters are suitable for a wide age group and demographic as they’re clear to understand and straightforward for the reader. i also chose to create a video as videos can be virtually shared on various different social media platforms which allows the awareness o spread, videos often can have more of an impact as you can add non diegetic sounds as mood music to fully convey an emotion. You can also fit a lot more content into a video.
I think i was successful at meeting the aim of the module by creating a video which is something i hadn’t done so i did leave my comfort zone and try something new. My music choice for my video was also very effective and really managed to make the child scene more emotional and dramatic than if i hadn’t added the music like was with the sound effect of the pops and spray in the beginning of the video, with out those sound effects my video would’ve been quite dull and boring. On the down side my video was slightly short, it was just under 40 seconds, I struggled slightly trying to work with After Effects as it doesn’t give u the flexibility to edit images as freely as photoshop does. I think that i may have focused a bit too much on the whole muslim women aspect of the concept as both of my posters were based on that. However i can argue that the main reason i got sidetracked by that idea is because women in general are underrepresented anyway. I would definitely manage my time more effectively in the future, one way i wasted so much time was that i had an idea about what i wanted to do with my project however i spent way too long trying to make that idea work rather than just moving and and coming up with another idea that would actually work. Next time i would also step away from creating a poster as i don’t believe posters really challenge me as a designer anymore its become a bit repetitive and i would rather grow my skills else where.

The Writing Works of Mine That I'm Actually Proud of
These here things are a bunch of things that I wrote that I’m particularly proud of, and if you want to get to know me/my writing style, these are the things to read.
The Novels, a.k.a This is Gonna Take a While To Read
Waiting for Ragnarok (Amazon link): the published book; Immortal Viking Anders gets reincarnated a high school girl Cecile in 2008 where life isn’t as violent as it usually is and oh hey that history teacher is super attractive.
Waiting for Someone Else’s Apocalypse: side-quel to Cecile’s WfR adventures as told through the perspective of the love interest Kate Barrington.
False Prophets (draft 1)/finished novel can be found here for purchase: the best book I've written so far. There is a prophecy about the end of the world and it is here, darkness creeps across the land and only the chosen one can stop the rapidly approaching apocalypse. It's just too bad that he's dead. Lucienne Prophet is the only one willing to go out swinging, and she'll have to work with some truly dangerous and unsavory people if she's to survive and save the world. This is where you can read a much longer version of this explanation on my website. This is where you can read the spoiler version of the same thing.
Short Stories, Fan Fiction, and Others
Shorts
The Riddles of the Sphinx: the whacky adventures of Eli the man who can’t solve a riddle to save his life and his companion Klea the Sphinx who will only help him out if he solves a riddle.
Cold Black Iron and Green Fire: a detective fiction story set in a strange and magical world. Detective Saint Felix is a broken woman trying to put herself back together as she solves various magical crimes in her city full of the supernatural and the dangerous. I'll finish up that next story starring her one day.
The Queen of the Kill: an assassin that has popped up in a few stories for some reason. I don't know what to do with her or her stories, but I do like them.
Fan Fiction
Mass Effect
Mass Effect: Control Lost: what Crimes of War turned into. My attempt at the story for Mass Effect 4, dealing with consequences, indoctrination, the Reaper remains, the impossible shadow cast over the galaxy by The Reaper Killer herself, all of that fun stuff as seen through a couple of OC’s working for the Mysterious Shadow Broker. The ultimate goal is to turn this thing into a fully fleshed out Choose Your Own Adventure Game and I make some progress every couple of years but it's a massive undertaking and I need to pay the bills.
An Epilogue to Destroy: what happened to Commander Shepard after the Crucible blew up and the Reapers all died.
Mass Effect Andromeda 2, Hypothetical Design Doc: I liked Mass Effect Andromeda, it was fine. Not terrible, not great. Shame we'll never get a sequel. Unless someone at Bioware reads this hypothetical design doc and likes what they read and lets me in as a writer. That'd be cool. But it won't ever happen so here's this instead.
The Legend of Korra
Old Souls: Asami’s quest to get reincarnated with the Avatar, also one of my favorite stories I’ve ever written
The Colors I See: everything is black and white until you see your soulmate, sucks for bisexual Korra
Love Isn’t as Easy as the Books Make it Seem: Korra as a harlequin romance novelist, Asami as herself, they met once and had hot, steamy sex only to disappear into the night never to reunite, until Asami picks up a copy of her favorite romance novelist to find the story was about her.
The Podcast
I write a podcast (and do the audio editing). I sell it as Law and Order: Sword Coast. It's a crime fiction podcast done in the style of a narrative true crime podcast but set in a homebrew dnd world. How do you get away with murder when a suitably powerful cleric can just as the dead who killed them? How hard is it to get away with murder when you can cast fireball? All these questions and more will be answered in various ways through out the lifetime of the podcast. Transcripts are being posted slowly on my website.

Lucienne Prophet
Featured in: False Idols and it’s yet to be written sequel False Prophets
Looks: one two three(she’s on the left)
Height: 6′1″
Body type: FUCKIN BUILT SON (she is very muscular and strong and is built like a truck)
Hair: dark, if it’s not under a helmet or tied back it is poofy and wavy, but she’s never not fighting something or someone so it is always tied back
Eye color: brown but with flecks of gold
Skin type: dark, kinda dry cause she doesn’t have time to moisturize, she’s got a war to win
Tattoos/scars: She doesn’t have any tattoos, shortly into the novel she gets a scar that’s very important for plot reasons; and she has a a couple of scars because of her captivity
Family: none living, she had a mother and father who died during the war for the end of the world; her husband, Theo, died rescuing her from captivity that no one comes back from
Goes by: Luce, Lucienne is what friends call her, Luce always just felt like her name more than Lucienne is
Story and Personality:
Lucienne Prophet is the current General of the Rangers, the scouting military branch of the Holy Armies of Iryvon the God of Light. She inherited the position (because she was friends with the Chosen One and Holy Executor Michael) when her husband died in her arms rescuing her captivity. Luce doesn’t like her position of authority, she doesn’t feel like she earned it even though every single Ranger under her command would argue the opposite. She fights with two swords, each one covered in illegal spells to help her fight and kill her Corrupted foes.
Before Lucienne joined the Empire’s Armies she attended military school as it was the best school in the country and the easiest way to pay her way into the best colleges. She wanted to study anthropology to study cultures swept away by the advance of Iryvon’s Empire. But when the Corrupt attacked her school, killed her friends, and one of her best friends was anointed as the Chosen One to end the apocalypse, Lucienne knew she couldn’t walk away from that, so she followed her future husband Theo into the Rangers.
Lucienne has an extremely low tolerance for people she views as incompetent or bad at their jobs, doubly so if they waste her time. This has led to the view that she has a short temper, which doesn’t hold true for anyone she considers a friend or worthy ally.
Unfortunately Luce doesn’t have any surviving friends or family. Theo died rescuing her from something that should have killed her, and her family died in the one of the opening battles of the war she was fighting. Those people that she considers friends, Luce will do more than anyone should to protect them and keep them alive, since she has already lost so much.
One of the few friends that she still has is Aracelis, the last of the Orso Blood Mages, though their relationship is not without its complications. Luce doesn’t know the extent of her feelings towards Aracelis (romantic or otherwise) because she’s got a war to fight and so many other things on her plate that she doesn’t have the luxury of wasting time or energy on thinking about it.

Lucienne Prophet, Ranger General
1. Favorite color? She does really like green. Green is the color of life and spring (and also the standard color for most of the Rangers)
5. First memory?Picnic with her family watching the sun set behind the mountains, her father reading her favorite story, her stuffed animal friend Amelia clutched tightly in her hands
9. Voice claim/face claim? So I’m actually kinda really bad at this kind of stuff. Initially, and I mean like early concept waaay the hell back before this was even titled False Prophets and when Luce’s name was Isabella and she was the chosen one and she was resurrected in the second chapter, I did envision her as Zoe Saldana. And right now I can’t imagine her as one other than the art I’ve gotten drawn up for her.
Would it be cheating if I just said her voice would probably just be Jennifer Hale doing a slightly more tired and bitter renegade Commander Shepard?
35. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?Daydreaming? No, too focused on the tasks at hand. Worried most of the time? Yes. Always worried, always stressed, always fighting. Living in memories would take too much time and effort, and Luce has gotten extremely good at locking those things away. Except for when she’s trying to sleep.
44. How does your character react/ accept criticism? If it was remotely helpful she’d take it and work on it. But 90% of the time she feels that they are wrong and should shut the hell up and get out of her way. (or, you know, demote a sexist old white guy out of her way)

While at work today I came to the realization that I can make False Prophets a bit happier in the beginning by switching some stuff up (namely having Luce and Aracelis in disguise as Major Marks being a thing) and then having it be so much worse when Aracelis’ numerous “betrayals” come to light and absolutely wrecking Luce even farther.
Someone needs to take Luce away from me. Put her in a nice story with sunshine and daisies and happiness and trust and love and lots of books.
