okay silly little interpretation of emily because its SOOOOOOOOO transcoded afterthe cut
“It was the worst thing that I'd ever done
It was a head shot
You know you gave me the gun”
trans people have to essentially kill their past self in order to grow and be free. "you know you gave me the gun" could be referring to the support of other people through their transition. But it could also be referring to being forced to kill their past self in order to get granted acceptance.
"Oh please, just hide me now
I won't tell a soul"
This could be referring to the shame and fear that comes with being trans, hiding your identity to the world for safety.
"It was the worst part
What you did to this little girl"
This could be referring to trans people being traumatized and abused by those around them (especially parents).
"Emily, you're far from home"
this could be about your body/mind not feeling like your own, like home, Due to dysphoria.
"And Emily, we'll figure if I could figure it out
We'll both never be afraid"
this could be about the fear that comes with figuring out your gender idenity, it's a long and often painful process.
"Emily, come home"
coming home could be referring to coming to terms with your identity and starting to love your body
"It was the last time I saw her alive
Sometimes you do things
You need to do to survive"
back to the killing your past self thing. "Sometimes you do things you need to do to survive" could be referring to killing your past self so your true self can live
"Oh please, don't leave me now
I'll miss you so much
Oh please, don't go away
I'm needing your touch
But please don't leave me now
Baby, please don't go away "
People leave you and backstab you for being trans, parents often kick their kids out over it.
