Hey

A living shiny dex is when you have a shiny of every pokemon in the pokedex at the same time (so rather than having one shiny geodude and evolving it into a golem to get it in the dex, you would get a shiny geodude, graveler and golem)

The reason I’m doing Legends Arceus is because it only has 250 pokemon and a decent amount of them are shiny locked, plus shiny hunting is pretty easy in that game

The only ones I didn’t need was Unown G, Hitmonchan, and technically the Event Pikachu.

Otherwise, I’ve completed some shiny lines! So that’s a win to me.

#alt with eyes hidden under the cut #cofagrigus #their eyes are shiny. made of plastic. so they're looking a little bright. apologies for this #so. generally when i have quarrels about the pronunciation of a pokémon's name (since i don't watch anipoké) #where someone else and i pronounce the same pokémon's name differently. which doesn't happen very often‚ since typically i talk about #pokémon mostly entirely in text. because most of the communication about things i like happens in text. and the pokémon games #are not voice acted. so pronunciation of their names is sparse and sometimes limited to anipoké but even they're inconsistent i think #but whenever i have quarrels about the pronunciation of a name. someone else and i pronounce it differently. i go to pokédex 3d pro #on the 3ds. because every time you go to a pokémon's dex entry‚ the pokédex guy says their name out loud #i basically treat this as gospel for how to pronounce pokémon names. i've been proven wrong a lot but i've also been proven right a lot #and this guy. oooohhh this guy. before pokédex 3d pro i pronounced this guy's name as though the F-slur was right in the middle #only recently did i learn that it kinda sounds like “grievous‚” [kʰɐ.fə.'gɻiː.gəs] #at least. that's how the pokédex 3d pro guy says it #whereas i had been pronouncing it [kʰow.'fæg.ɻɪ.gəs]. so. you can see the issue that arises with that pronunciation #a lot of these pronunciations that i have to double-check just live in my head. and it's only when i say them out loud that i realize #how i'm saying them. like how i pronounce “centiskorch” as [sɑ̃.t͡si̠.skoʁʃ] for some fucking reason. my brain sees it and is like #yeah that's? a french word? even though it looks nothing like one #i also tend to pronounce “grumpig” as ['gʀʊm.pɪç] because of the “ig” at the end. i guess. german instinct #of course these are pronunciations i never say out loud but the first time i Have to say this pokémon's name out loud i'll go #oh yeah! it's not pronounced like that. i should probably not say that #and then i do not. just a fun little story about my twisted and fucked up mind. a little peek into my enigmatic brainspace #jesus christ these are some of the longest tags i've ever written. i'm gonna stop

One fun fact about me is that when I have pokemon hyperfixations I usually end up returning to legends arceus to work on a shiny living dex I have going on. This is somewhat unremarkable but the interesting part is that if I play legends arceus for more than two days in a row I start hallucinating the shiny sound effect. I hear it when I'm playing. I hear it when I'm not playing. I hear it when I'm awake and I hear it even when I'm asleep. I have dreams about catching shiny pokemon that have made it difficult to remember which shinies I do and do not have because the dreams are so frequent and vivid. Legends arceus has a bizarre effect on my psyche is what I'm saying.

The reason I bring this up is because I'm three days into playing palworld. Tonight, the shiny equivalent "lucky pal" music has been playing over and over in my head. Exactly the way it began for legends arceus.

@harmonytre (She/It) here! I've enjoyed shiny hunting for a long time and want to try something special. A shiny living dex, of marked pokemon! The challenge will be streamed over on Twitch and edited videos will be added to Youtube. And the audience can gain PRIZES!

How will this work?

I am searching for only personality marked shinies (not including the Uncommon Mark). I have both the shiny and mark charm, but currently only have Scarlet (and Sword). The hunts will include forms and gender differences.

The hunt will be randomly decided between: pokedex order, randomized pokemon line, hunt of my choice, and hunt of YOUR choice (recommend in the askbox).

I will make a post announcing who I am hunting and how. It is likely guesses will need to be in hours/minutes/seconds. You can guess on either the post or the discord. (Note: the discord is my art discord, but it's okay if you join only for the shiny channels.)

Below are the prizes:

CLOSEST GUESS (phase): YOU get to name the pokemon for the future giveaway

CLOSEST GUESS (target): 1 illustration of you with the newly caught pokemon (will be featured on the video)+ 1 shaded fullbody commission of your choice

SPOT-ON GUESS: a shaded commission of a full team of pokemon and trainer (or a commission of similar value)

I went insane over the past week and I got this Bakugan for it

#never have I ever actually wanted to complete the National Dex #but the whole Pokemon Bank closing sometime in the future put some fear in me #its a 99.9% living dex I'm just missing non shiny Zamazenta. non shiny dracovish and my own iron boulder #also apparently they just. give you a melmetal for moving a Pokemon from Go but it took like a day for that gift

the conflict between being immensely frustrated that pokemon dlc in general just seems to throw as many new characters at u as possible so they can keep being like 'look at this! look at this new thing! new content!' insted of actually expanding the themes and characters we actually give a shit about, and being relieved that because of those dumbass decsions, i never feel the urge to buy them
