I’m sure someone else has arrived at this conclusion first because Limbus Company stuff had been floating around for a while and there was plenty of time to think of it before the game even came out but it’s kinda blowing my mind so here

Each of the Associations in The City are named after a number, each in a different language. #1, Hana, is in Korean; #2, Zwei, is in German; etc.

It just occurred to me that they correspond directly to the order of the Limbus Company sinners.

1, Hana: Korean (Yi Sang) 2, Zwei: German (Faust) 3, Tres: Spanish (Don Quixote) 4, Shi: Japanese (Ryōshū) 5, Cinq: French (Meursault) 6, Liu: Chinese (Hong Lu) 7, Seven: English (Heathcliff) 11, Öufi: Swiss German (Sinclair)

This is absolutely not a coincidence and I wouldn’t be surprised if the remaining associations were named the same way but what does it mean??? What does it-

Silly little theory about the sinners, the associations and numbers in different languages.

warning, this theory contains spoilers for limbus. ruina and the latest dantes notes. you have been warned. so with the reveal of the newest numbered association in the lastest dantes notes, ive began to notice something. each of the associations numbers and names seem to correspond to the sinner number and language of the country of their book of origin of the sinners in limbus company. here are the current examples. 1) hana assoc - yi sang - korean 2) zwei assoc - faust - german 3) tres assoc - don quixote - spanish 4) shi assoc - ryoshu - japanese 5) cinq assoc - meursault - french 6) liu assoc - hong lu - chinese 7) seven assoc - heathcliff - english 8) 9) devyat assoc - rodion - russian 10) dieci assoc - dante - italian 11) Öufi - sinclair - swiss german 12) 13) as you can see, the associations language of origin and number correlates to the sinners of limbus company. the reason why 8, 12 and 13 is because we dont know their names in universe, so then again projmoon could just reveal something entirely different for the names and prove this whole theory wrong, but itll be fun to think about until then.

Again, I am trying to analyze Don's sins, Blade Lineage Salsu Don edition(I kinda skipped three other ID, and I definitely will do them later. BlaDon ID is just the most interesting one)

Well first sin is Pride. Which, I feel, is mostly for team matching. Like you can't be in Seven without Gluttony, or in Liu without Wrath, you can't be a Blade lineage without Pride. But I guess you could also see in this her disinterest in learning something from Outis. In most of her ID and original state, she's quite fine with authority and actually likes lectures and learning new information. BlaDon, in contrast, dislikes lectures with Outis, prefering to just run away and slash some Kurokumo guys. But maybe etiquette could be just too boring even for her?

Second is Envy. And it's difficult. Mostly because no one is sure what this is representing. The only other BL ID with envy is Yi Sang and with him I guess that could represent how much he looks after their group, with him giving title of leader to Outis but still doing his best to make sure they all will stay alive and well. However, Don doesn't seem as interested in connection within BL. She mostly does her own thing there, to be honest. Or maybe it's about her again following orders? But it's feels a bit conflicting with what I thought in her Pride part.

I also saw a new way to analyze sins and it suggested that Envy could be about desire to suppress, which I guess could suit BlaDon mastering her swordwielding.

Her core sin is Sloth and it makes me a bit insane and that's way I a bit to sure in my theory. With crumbles of information about her past I think that this version of her is the closest to her past. Like she doesn't try to live for some sort of ideal, doesn't try to change her ways(if we think that her attention to justice is something relatively new for her), passively joining organization in which she can keep doing what she already had experience in. In her other IDs she trying something new, being lively and loud. BlaDon? Calmer, sure in herself and interested only in her blade and ways how she could use it. (Kinda parallels with Kurokumo Ryoshu, who's also doesn't really pay attention to anything but fighting)

me and my friend were talking about the whole "every sinner has one item they keep in all ids" thing and how its connected to their icon a while ago so im putting all we came up with here

yi sang: well hes got a book in at least Some ids and the icon looks like sheets of paper if you squint. couldnt come up with anything better (others under cut)

faust: unsure. we couldnt come up with anything for faust other than "idk it kind of looks like a brain" She might not even have an item since shes set apart from the rest (see: her ego being th eonly one to not have barbed wire over it)

don quixote: her rocinantes :) they have the horse symbol on them its just hard to see with the quality here

ryoshu: one of the most obvious (its pretty hard to miss the fact that she has a whole extra sword in every id) in some images you can see theres a butterfly pattern on the hilt

meursault: i didnt notice this one somehow but his belt buckle looks like a chain link, its got the same shape as the one in his icon

hong lu: okay maybe a stretch but im pretty sure his is his eye. icon looks like an eyeball, and i think his liu uptie story mentioned it isnt naturally Like that

heathcliff: the border around his icon is probably supposed to be his ring (unfortunately 2/4 of his ids have gloves on and you cant see it very well in his base id </3)

ishmael: her headband (this ones pretty clear i think)

rodion: she has a tattoo of a heart, cant tell if its hte same as her icon with an axe going into it because with most ids we can only see the edge

sinclair: this ones also a stretch but could be the mark since his icon has the same symbol...? but its only visible in one id

outis: her watch. shes got it in her ids and appears to be checking the time in her base ego. its got a trojan horse symbol on it too shes up to something

I can’t believe all the nonsense that has been occurring lately in our association.. an absolute disgrace these people are. Vacations, pets, absolutely unprecedented.

So I, Outis, have volunteered to deliver the report regarding the case recommended to us by the Liu Association (The death of the Stigma Workshop manager) to prove that the Seven still has some dignity left also because the report draft Yi Sang handed to me was filled with nearly nothing but poetic prose…

So, taking into account what we knew then there were only two facts very plainly displayed. First is the victim’s identity as a workshop manager. And secondly this has something to do with the Mirrors as well.

Now I’m not quite up-to-date with that case as much as everyone else seems to be but I believe this aligns very closely to a similar case Heathcliff has handled. The case involving another workshop owner’s death and the Mirror room found beneath his warehouse. There is a pattern, no? Workshop owners and that Mirror.

Therefore I tried thinking of various reasons as to why these two factors specifically would connect. The first thought was that perhaps these Workshop owners had been hired to manufacture or enhance this Mirror technology, but due to reasons unspecified had been executed by their employers.

That would have been plausible enough except for the fact I must also take into account the difference in executioners between the two cases. The first one with Heathcliff turned out to be a red herring(?) left by that deranged Mirror version of himself, while the second is by an individual who is presumably also a Mirror identity but that of the Liu Director’s. Those two have one thing in common with both being identities but does this imply that whatever faction or employer the victims had, are somehow in cahoots or in control of Mirror identities? That is certainly not a far fetched notion… But why and how? Do they have control over all Mirror identities or only to a specific few of them?

If that is the case I might need to check on that “mail delivery” I gave to Faust. He might know something since he’s one of them; one of those identities.

You know I didn’t even realise that artist looked like (and is) Yi Sang when I was putting him into Faust’s inbox… But erm, I’ve heard uninformed fixers calling him Faust’s cabinet creature.

Anyways bringing Yi Sang along might prove risky though as Faust warned us. But I shall see what can be managed. Not like he’s a crucial part of the interrogation.

In Dream of the Red Chamber, when Jia Huan tried to blind Bao-Yu by pouring hot wax into his eye, it didn't actually blind him because the Jade would heal Bao-Yu.. But, knowing PM, I'm guessing Jia Huan DID actually blind him and his "jade" eye, (that he's most likely trying to convince others is something he was born with), is a prosthetic.. I'm afraid of what this man's chapter may just be. But I'm also ready.

Yeah I am so. Something has Got to be happening with his eye, it's just a matter of What?

I genuinely don't think it's just a prosthetic, as that seems a little too simple. Especially since in the Liu cutscene while Faust does imply the eye *acts* like a prosthetic, Yi Sang seems to be of the opinion that it wouldn't make sense for it to Just be a prosthetic.

The way he says it implies that there has to be more to it than a simple obviously mechanical product, using the idea of the prosthetic as a hypothetical rather than fact. Considering it's Before Hong Lu ever mentions it's something he was born with, I don't think this is Yi Sang falling for a lie, I think it's Hong Lu trying to share some fucked up truth when Yi Sang catches onto something, but for whatever reason not being able to beyond giving vague hints.

Consider that Liu Hong Lu's core Sin is Wrath. He's the only Hong Lu we see who has Wrath as an Affinity, the Sin of Defiance, and we see that this is the only Hong Lu who seems to actively recognise his family's flaws, as he actually reacts with negative emotions to them being mentioned. I don't think this Hong Lu would actively lie about his eye, since he'd Actually Want to have a chance of getting out, but he would likely still be extremely vague because he Knows the Consequences.

There is some fuckery afoot, and considering his chapter is one of the first in the second half of Inferno, something tells me his deal (and the deals of the other Sinners in that second half) is going to be far more complex than what we've been seeing with the Cantos we already got.
