   By some strange miracle, a mindless beast had found his way to the surface. It’s almost funny - A thoughtless mind consumed by feral thoughts had found its way to the surface where a sound mind could not. 

      Regardless, there is now a very real danger. Not to the Inklings, however - But to the Salmonid. Then again, is it truly any different than what Grizz would normally subject them to?

         This entire area... it seems familiar. However, he is unimpressed by it. No - There’s something else drawing his attention much more. It’s a scent... one that seems to awaken something in him. Rage..? No... longing?

   Well, whatever it is... it’s close, and he doesn’t want to wait anymore. 

      Charging forwards, he swiftly approaches whatever, or whoever, it is. Upon getting closer, the source of it is obvious. A Salmonid - Humanoid in shape. Golden scales lightly glowing under the pale moonlight.

         However, his charge doesn’t stop. Now fixated on this new target, he launches his attack. Clawed hands forwards, so he can lash out at this strange being the moment he is within range.

Sora stands with his mother’s hand atop his shoulder. To some it may look to be a supportive gesture, the grounding touch of a mother’s hand, but Sora knows it’s to keep him in place, to stop him overwhelming the other boy. He never gets to meet other kids ! He practically vibrates with excitement; he wants to run over and all of the dozens of questions flitting about his mind, but he knows he needs to be calm. 

For now, at least.

how he'd convinced himself to do this mathias didn't quite recall, all he hoped was that beat wouldn't mind or get upset. in hindsight, he probably should've asked first, but by the time he'd considered that thought their lips were already touching, a soft press of warm lips against beat's own, chaste and gentle, something beat could back away from if he didn't like it...

                         they’d  just  been  catching  up ,   mathias  telling  beat  all  the  stories  he’d  been  through ,   all  the  adventures  he’d  had ,   everything  he’d  been  through . . .   it  all  seemed  so  exciting .   there  had  been  a  pause  between  laughter ,  both  of  them  staring  at  each  other  for  a  second  too  long  before  beat  had  been  the  first  to  crack  and  look  away ,   a  blush  rampant  across  his  cheeks .   why  did  he  feel  his  heart  quicken  and  his  breath  catch  in  his  throat  as  he  looked  into  his  eyes ?

                        of  course ,   he  knew  why .   deep ,   deep  down  in  the  recesses  of  his  being  did  he  know .   it  was  just . . .   kept  so  far  down  that  he  hardly  gave  it  the  time  of  day .   when  he  looked  at  mathias  again ,   it  began  to  claw  its  way  up .

                        without  the  time  to  register  what  it  was  that  he  was  doing ,   soft  lips  were  pressed  to  his  own ,   chapped  and  in  desperate  need  of  moisturizer .   bright  blue  eyes  went  wide  as  he  let  the  realization  of  what  was  happening  encompass  him .   he . . .   was  kissing  him .   it  was  a  kiss .   thick  brows  furrowed  together  as  he  fought  with  himself ,   but  finally  allowed  his  eyes  to  shut  and  to  return  the  kiss for  just  a  moment .   he’d  allow  himself  this  one  time . . .   this  one  moment  where  he  did  what  he  wanted  and  didn’t  fear  for  what  this  meant . 

                        a  hand  moved  up  to  cup  the  back  of  mathias’  neck ,   pulling  him  closer  for  just  a  moment  before  he  forced  himself  to  pull  away  and  look  down .   his  shoulders  slumped  forward ,   his  head  drooped  and  shook  back  and  forth .   “   what  the  hell’m  i  doin’ ,   ”   he  muttered  to  himself ,   a  hand  tugging  off  his  beanie  and  then  running  through  his  hair .

                        “   . . .   what  are  you ,   ”   he  demanded  quietly ,   yet  steady  and  strong .
