Hello friends! Alex (or cherry) here! Or as people used to remember me as: @drapetxmaniia.
This is my nostalgia RP sideblog where I shall come now and then when the moment hits. My main blog is @cherryao3nova so that’s who I shall follow as.
This is a mainly a Multi-Doctor blog, with the 13th & 14th Doctors being my main muses. (About Muses) BUT I will also RP 9/11/12 & 15 when the muse hits
This blog will not be following the TimeLess child plot, this blog is also canon-divergent post Spyfall. She DID NOT deactivate the master's perception filter!! I do not see the doctor actually ever doing this!! - She would have knocked him out and ran. She'd have grabbed the Masters tardis, but makes sure to pick him up before the germans can come find him.
It is also a non-flux compliant blog - BUT, This is 'The Star Beast', 'Wild Blue Yonder' and 'The Giggle' canon compliant.
(I can be flexable with all this though if the plot requires it - i somewhat (kinda) know what happened)
I’m a giant Thoschi fan. I ship them together, but if you dont, then I do HC that they were at least VERY close in the academy years. (If not, you know, together during school.)
I won’t always use icons (cause im mostly on mobile) and can write both short or long paras, but I do mostly mirror. Im mutuals only, but you can pop into one of my Feel free to answer an open starter.
About me: Cherry (or Alex); 29+ She/They Enby/AroAce/AuDHD (Main (AO3) blog: @cherryao3nova old RP blog: @drapetxmaniia also RP icon blog: @iconsmadebyalex
Rp may be slow, I don’t always have the spoons/muse/motivation. I work from home and I’m a carer, helping my mom look after my dad. Also my adhd can cause me to jump from thread to thread, so please be patient with me, thank you ☺️ Writing verses under the cut.
MainVerse:This post may be subject to change (Mobile Post) ((each person is separate to each other in this verse)) The doctor is relatively canon, except for the little bits that i don’t agree with.
9th Doctor: Canon 10th Doctor: Canon 11th Doctor: Canon 12th Doctor: The Doctor does not lock missy in the vault, He has her on the TARDIS, yes she cant leave without him with her, but she has his tentative trust while on board and the TARDIS is always watching her every move. 13th: spyfall - she didn’t disable the perception filter - or let the master get taken. - knocks him out and takes him in her TARDIS before the Germans find him. (she can either stop his plan and then leave him with his tardis or have him stay on her tardis and travel with her.) - Or for more angst - just run leaving him to wake in his tardis.
This Verse does not go along with the Timeless child. Or The Flux. As far as the Doctor is concerned Gallifrey is still around. This blog is very Thoschei Friendly.
14th doctor: Canon
15th Doctor: Canon so far, but heavily my own HC/writing till we get more.
------------------
HopeVerse: written with immortaljackal,
and Layla’s relationships with the Doctors 9-13.
9th Doctor: (Canon) Relationship wise: the Doctor is best friends with her    10th Doctor: (Canon) Relationship wise: casual flirting starts, pretend marriages when traveling, platonic snuggling, platonic relationship - which get even more clingy after Rose. 11th Doctor: (Canon) Relationship wise: the platonic relationship grows, till he starts to realise that he likes-likes her, and then it turns Into pining till he actually gets the bravery to ask her out and by the time Clara turns up, they are together. 12th Doctor: The Doctor does not lock missy in the vault, He has her on the TARDIS, yes she cant leave without him with her, but she has his tentative trust while on board and the TARDIS is always watching her every move.  (...This has not been explored yet...) Relationship wise: the love grows. This doctor feels very lucky to have Layla. At some point he proposed. And they got married. It’s an adorable stage of the relationship. 13th: spyfall - she didn’t disable the Master’s perception filter. just left him as she gets away. Relationship wise: married couple, shenanigans, very in love, like gosh so cute. Dorks. This Verse does not go along with the Timeless child. As far as the Doctor is concerned Gallifrey is still around. This Verse also leans Quite a bit to EU Who
Flux is a no here as well, but 14 & 15 will follow the canon with the 4 episodes we have had so far.
----------------------
divergent verses: Any other verse that doesnt fit in these two, will be in this one with their own name. No i will not write the timless child and no i will not write the flux. I havent even watched 13's season 2 so i dont know the whole story there.
And a note on shipping: I will do so only if there is chemestry. And even if you do not wish to write master/doctor, the doc its still very soft for their best friend enemy.

Designed a combat exoskeleton and an... "armed" motorcycle for a story.
The exoskeleton is designed for ultra-high mobility, which means heavy armor is limited to the helmet and torso, while the rest just gets some light kevlar. A high-volume low-pressure hydraulic system give it speed at the expense of strength, and a hydropneumatic drum allows the limbs to be backdriven slighly to act as shock absorbers. Smoke grenades, electronic warfare countermeasures, and a automatic-dodging function on the jetpack improve its survivability.
The motorcycle is heavily armored from the front, with heavy armor and a pair of redundant wheels. Its AI allows it to drive and fight independently of the rider, and it has a pair of retractable arms to help with manual tasks.
All weapons on suit and motorcycle have aim-assist using a pair of gyroscopes, which is how the suit is able to mount weapons on the back of the arm, where hardsights would be less effective. When the rider is not on the cycle, its weapons are controlled solely with the gyroscopes.
The story takes place on Earth, chronologically earlier than my other stories, so the technology is appropriately slightly more primitive.

Species of Starjourn: D'Jonzi
Tumblr media
The D’Jonzi evolved on a perpetually twilit world, tidally locked to an increasingly unstable red giant. They were forced to abandon their homeworld as its ability to support life declined and ultimately failed. Their civilization was not technologically prepared for this and had to bootstrap starfaring tech development in a very short space of time. They almost didn’t survive to reach a stable era as many of their early attempts to get into space failed, costing numerous lives and a lot of precious resources.
But the D’Jonzi kept trying and eventually fled their home using space tech that would be considered advanced to us but primitive by 25th Cent. standards.
In time, the D’Jonzi built better ships using orbital sanctuaries. This allowed them to leave their solar system, which had no other viable planets, and look for a new home. At first, they traveled as a massive flotilla moving slowly through space in colony ships. Before they could find a suitable new home, they discovered gravitronium and FTL technology.
In the mid 2200s, human surveyors made first contact when mapping planets at the far reaches of what was then the Sol Commonwealth. The human expedition was not interested in sticking around to found a colony and ceded the world to the D’Jonzi. During this period, contact was maintained and the two civilizations found they had more in common than not. The D’Jonzi became allies of the Sol Commonwealth and later a founding member of ALTO.
To this day, the D’Jonzi primarily live in space and are common in space stations and staryards throughout the galaxy. Their colony ships are ancient but many are still in service, moving slowly through space and acting more as mobile stations than their original purpose. Most of these ships and stations are akin to ancient historical cities on Earth and are treated with reverence. They are also welcome to visitors and some have become popular tourist destinations driven by the novelty of a destination that will never be in the same place twice.
A very old species, the D’Jonzi nonetheless remained technologically stagnant for most of their history due to the limitations of life on their home planet. They are comfortable around humans after two hundred years and many have settled in human colonies. There are tens of thousands of D’Jonzi residents in the Sol System, for example.
The D’Jonzi have also settled many worlds by this time but they are deeply romantic about their homeworld (many refuse to say its name aloud) and it’s common for D’Jonzi to agree that no planet will ever replace it, will ever be suitable enough to call home. By time of writing, efforts to assess their homeworld for resettlement have yielded little hope but efforts continue and new radiation shielding technologies have potential.
The D’Jonzi homeworld’s habitable space was always small, a thin equatorial band of twilight between two hemispheres. They evolved to be monocular and extremely light sensitive. The low gravity on their planet gave them their boneless, willowy bodies which are tougher than they look due to a solid endoskeleton made of thick cartilage. Their skin appears blue in most lit conditions but darkens considerably toward purple in twilight conditions. There is little difference between male and female D'Jonzi but they typically use cosmetics and wardrobe to differentiate as their voices are also very similar and not everybody has the right olfactory glands to properly tell them apart.
With no natural predators, the D’Jonzi are prone to existential terror when faced with “monsters” and the like. The idea that something could or would eat them is deeply terrifying to them. However, the preciousness of life on their planet, all of which they saved in genetic vaults, gives them a reluctance to kill and they are typically nonviolent bordering on pacifism. Their time as deep spacefarers promoted taking the long view in their culture and though they don’t live much longer than humans, they still tend to think in “cosmic” timescales.

Proposal for the text of the back cover of Vernor Vinge's "A Fire Upon the Deep"
Our galaxy is divided into zones: the uninhabitable unthinking depths closest to the galactic core; the Slow Zone, whence humans emerged thousands of years ago, where travel is limited by the speed of light and the best available technology is mechanical and deterministic; and the Beyond, where a thousand advanced civilizations live, work, and trade. These sophonts range from humans to strange creatures like the skoderiders - plant-like aliens accustomed to forming memories over hundreds of years made mobile and given reflexes by the strange devices they ride. Beyond our galaxy lies the Transcend, where godlike Powers dwell. A small research team of humans enters it in an attempt to find technology that could be useful back in the Beyond - their research material turns sentient and swiftly moves against them, leaving only a few humans to escape aboard a primitive ship that falls deep into the slowness, finally landing on a planet inhabited by the medieval, warlike Tines - doglike creatures who exist in packs that think as one, collaborating on inner thoughts via high-frequency chatter. The humans are stranded on the Hidden Island of Lord Flenser, who made his name carving up and fusing together his subjects' pack members and thus their very souls. Meanwhile, on the library planet and network hub Relay, a Power falls victim to what is now known across the galaxy as the Blight, sending a couple of skoderiders, an ordinary human, and an ancient unfrozen Slow Zone space trader touched by godshatter to find the last survivors from the Blight's birthplace: a young pair of human siblings, each captured by opposing Tinish armies, each gradually discovering what their different species can learn from each other. But the Blight is aware of the potential for a countermeasure, and nothing is guaranteed when you can be betrayed by the limitations of the fabric of space-time itself.

"Empowering Steps: Unveiling the Diversity of Advanced Prosthetic Leg Solutions
Tumblr media
The Evolution of Prosthetic Legs Prosthetic legs have come a long way from their earlier crude forms to become increasingly sophisticated and functionally similar to biological legs. From helping amputees regain mobility to now enabling high-performance activities, prosthetic technology has revolutionized lives. Let's take a deeper look at the evolution of prosthetic leg design and technology. Early Prosthetic Designs Some of the earliest known prosthetics date back to Ancient Egypt around 900 BC. These were basic wooden legs that provided support but very limited movement. Through the centuries, prosthetics incorporated new materials like leather and metal but remained quite primitive with no solid ankle or knee joints. Some notable early designs include the peg legs worn by pirates that provided stability but no flexion. During the American Civil War, many soldiers lost limbs and created a demand for better prosthetics. The first major innovation was the addition of simple knee joints allowing some level of flexion and extension in walking. However, the prosthetics remained heavy, uncomfortable devices more than just functional replacements. World Wars Drive Innovation The huge number of amputee soldiers during the World Wars of the 20th century drove significant advances in prosthetic technology. Lightweight aluminum alloys replaced traditional heavy woods and metals, making the devices much more wearable. German engineers invented the endoskeletal framework that placed mechanical components inside lightweight aluminum shells, improving strength-to-weight ratio. British engineers began using flexible rubber suspension systems as an alternative to leather straps for suspension. All these innovations made post-amputation rehabilitation and mobility significantly easier for many troops. Recent Advances in Prosthetic Legs The new millennium has seen exponential leaps in prosthetic leg technology allowing increasingly natural function. Advanced materials like carbon fiber composites make the devices extremely lightweight without compromising strength. Computer-aided design and 3D printing enable highly customized shapes and fittings. Bionic and myoelectric prosthetics use sensors to read muscle contractions and generate movements through mechanical actuators, providing close-to-natural motor control. New ankle joints replicate complex human ankle biomechanics, improving gait, energy efficiency, and performance capabilities. Promising research areas include powered ankles, multi-articulated "bionic" legs, mind-controlled prosthetics, and neural interfaces. Enabling High-Performance Activities Perhaps one of the most inspiring developments has been how sophisticated prosthetics now enable high-performance capabilities in amputees that were unthinkable earlier. Examples include disabled athletes competing and winning at the Paralympic Games across track & field, football, cross-country skiing, etc. New high-tech "blade" legs for running make elite sprinters out of leg amputees. Veterans have skydived, climbed mountains, and even climbed Mount Everest with prosthetic assistance. Evolving snowboard legs allow carving down slopes. Waterproof sockets and flexible components enable scuba diving, surfing, and freediving. We see elite disabled weightlifters, swimmers and gymnasts showcase their skills using customized equipment. Prosthetic technologies have opened up many physically challenging avenues for amputees that were once considered impossible.

Optimum Training Dataset Required For Computer Vision Process
Tumblr media
A functional AI model is built on robust, reliable and dynamic data. It is difficult to build an effective and efficient AI solution without having access to vast and thorough AI datasets for training. We are aware that the project's complexity determines and influences the quality of the data. We aren't sure the amount of training data we'll need to build the model that is unique.
These kinds of artificial intelligence depend on a procedure known by the name of Automatic Speech Recognition, ASR. ASR converts Speech Datasets to text which allows humans to speak to computers and understand. The usage of ASR is increasing rapidly. In a recent survey that was conducted by Deepgram in conjunction in conjunction with Opus Research, 400 North American executives from various sectors were surveyed about ASR implementation in their workplaces. 99 percent reported that they're currently using ASR in some manner usually as voice assistants on mobile applications showing the technology's significance. The field of computer vision has been in use for many years, but early efforts were primitive and focused on the development of systems that could identify the shapes or edges. The limitations of hardware were a problem and researchers were struggling with mathematical models the basis of which to build on their software algorithms. Computer technology has advanced dramatically in the past two decades with the introduction of advancements that are powered by faster hardware, more powerful software, and most important deep learning and machine learning.
ASR built in Natural Language Processing
As we have said before, NLP is a subdomain of AI. It's a method of instructing computers to comprehend human speech, which is commonly referred to as natural speech. In the simplest sense this is a brief overview of the way the speech recognition algorithm that is based on NLP could work:
You enter the ASR program command or query.
Your speech is transformed into a spectrogramthat represents a computer-readable version the audio file that contains your words. This is done by the program.
Acoustic models improve you're audio recordings by reducing background noise (for example the barking of a dog and static).
The algorithm splits the clean-up file into phonemes. They are the most fundamental elements of sound. Phonemes in English comprise those alphabets "ch" as well as "t."
The program analyzes the phonemes that are in the sequence and uses statistical likelihood to deduce sentences and words from them.
The NLP model will analyze the meaning of the sentences to determine if you were trying to say "write" as opposed to "right."
After the ASR program understands what you're trying say it will create an acceptable response, and then respond to you using a text-to-speech converter.
Training Your Computer's Vision System
There are a myriad of cutting-edge companies using computer vision to other industries. They span from insurance apps that look at photos and determine the severity of damage from an accident To AI systems that can see satellite photos of buildings and their surrounding foliage assess their risk of wildfire, in vending machines, which be able to recognize and mirror your facial expressions to More interactive customer experience. There's a vast distinction between perceiving and seeing. A need to develop more perceptual software is the driving force behind advancements in computer vision, as well as the latest developments in machine learning models and neural networks and models. However, without the correct training data The most sophisticated neural network does not have the nuanced knowledge that is required to correctly identify objects that are present in the world, or even make a basic judgement for example, like discerning between a ripe blueberry from one that is not. Utilizing huge quantities of training data that are high-quality computer vision systems is taught to discern objects accurately to accomplish the task. To build a computer vision software requires a huge quantity of images correctly labeled, chosen and classified. Since computers do not understand the full context of the image or in a real-world scenario, Image annotation It is still a task for humans. Image annotation is supported by a highly skilled group of data annotators and software such as GTS provide rapid marking up and labeling of photos and videos all the way to the each pixel, should it be needed.
What Do You Do If You Need Additional Datasets?
Everyone wants access to large Text Dataset, this is much easier to achieve than it is. Accessing huge amounts of high-quality, diverse data is essential for the project's success. Here, you will find innovative strategies to make collecting data significantly more simple.
1.Dataset Open
Open datasets are generally regarded by many as being the "excellent resource" of data that is free. However however, open datasets may not be what the project needs. Data is available from various sources such as public sources like EU Open sites for data, Google Public search engines for data and many more. There are a number of disadvantages of using open datasets to develop sophisticated applications. It is possible to risk conducting tests and training your model using incomplete or insufficient data if you utilize these datasets. The methods employed for collecting data usually not known, and can have an impact on the final outcome of your project. The utilization for open sources of data could have profound implications in terms of privacy, consent and identity theft.
2.Dataset Supplement
If you have some existing training data, but not enough to satisfy all your goals for your project Data augmentation methods must be employed. The available data set is reused to satisfy the needs of the model. The data samples are transformed in various ways, leading to an array of data that is diverse, dynamic, and varied. In the case of photographs as an example, a basic example of data augmentation could be displayed. Images can be enhanced by a variety of methods that include being cut and mirrored, scaled or rotated and having the color settings altered.
3.Data Synthesis
In the event that there's not enough information We can utilize artificial data generators. Transfer learning can benefit from synthetic data because the model is able to be trained using synthetic data and later using real-world data. An autonomous vehicle powered by AI is an example. It can begin to be trained to recognize and study the objects that appear in computer vision games. In the event that there is a deficiency of data from the real world to develop and test your models the synthetic data can come in useful. It can also be used in cases of privacy and data sensitiveness.
4.Personalised Data Collection
If other forms do not deliver the desired results custom data collection could be the most effective solution. Web scraping devices cameras, sensors, and other tools are able to produce high-quality datasets. If you need a custom dataset to enhance the efficiency in your modeling, buying customized datasets could be the best choice. A variety of third-party service providers can provide their expertise. To develop high-performance AI solutions, models have to be trained using high-quality reliable and reliable ML Dataset. However, getting accurate and rich datasets which positively influence results is a challenge. If you work with reliable data suppliers You can build an effective AI model that is based on an established data base.

The Game Changer
Tumblr media
As humans were once labeled as primitive, orality is a term given to the verbal ability to communicate to a population with little to no concept of literacy. Gradually as humans also opted to develop their communication skills, reading and writing became a medium for them to have more sensible conversations and have a better grasp of how things work around them. When they thought that this could be the greatest evolution of humanity, great minds have come up with more innovative ways in order to improve the means of communication for humankind- the evolution  of media. As the traditional media emerged in the forms of TVs, newspapers, and radios, the front liners of information dissemination paved the way of humanity’s civilization. It became the reliable medium for people to keep up with the times, to see the world in a different perspective, to have a grasp of the culture and practices in the other places, and to have ideas of the social issues and conflicts. The emergence of traditional media was a great leap for mankind however, it  can only deliver a limited amount of articles a day, mostly only from highly regarded individuals hence ordinary people were not able to tell their stories to a bigger audience.
After decades of arduous work, media has evolved into something so revolutionary, that it literally gapped almost all aspects of life. Convergent media is a phenomenon that occurs when new media, digital media, mass media, and traditional media combine into a single digital system. The production, distribution and use of various media technologies and platforms to share tasks and resources and create improved capabilities constitute convergent media as a technology phenomenon. There are almost no limitations when it comes to the online world. There is content for everyone's interests, especially on social media platforms, which nowadays, are one of the primary sources of entertainment and information. This influences people to watch and listen to content creators they connect with, look for answers to certain queries, or gather brand new information. While convergent media shares some properties with new media, such as portability, it cannot be classified as the latter. Since it combines many media platforms and technology, it differs from new media, which just employed them for the transmission of information. Even though it is much more complex when it comes to the accessibility compared to the previous form of media (as it is constantly updating its features and operations), it greatly aided the communication and information dissemination to the general public at a real time basis that people have shifted from the traditional means (sitting in couches to get in touch with the news collected all throughout the day) to having the willingness  to learn how to navigate their mobile devices to see the real time happenings in the different parts of the world. A smartphone, for example, may be used to view and read news, listen to music, and send emails. Another example of the influence of media, paired with a possibility of earning money and recognition, and the innate curiosity of humankind, encourages individuals to upload their own content as well and open themselves to the society, be it for entertainment, dissemination of information, or a source of income. Although it can be greatly taken advantage of in today's society given the amount of people who are trying to misinform and mislead the general masses, it is still undeniable that the evolution of media and our privilege to have access from traditional to convergent is a big leap in the phases of humanity.
As the world and technology continues to evolve, there are predictions that we may even have a virtual reality of the world we’re living in now. Who knows one day, maybe we can get to have sensations in front of our revolutionary devices, right? We cannot deny that orality and literacy has become the root of the evolution of the means of communication we have now. Thanks to the curiosity of the individuals who made it possible for us to be sharing our insights in this platform now that we are able to facilitate real time publishing of this blog.

What are the common Trends for Connected Cars?
Few techniques are as prevalent as cellular connectivity. It has a significant effect on human life and this will only increase in the coming years.
There is a nearly 300 times surge in mobile data traffic in the last ten years. Cellular really does connect the world, and it is allowing the formation of complete ecosystems erected around data sharing. The influence of the automotive network and its connected vehicles will be massive.  The way to travel is drastically changing with increased safety, superior pleasure, and less influence on the environs
The arrival of the connected car is unlocking a wide spectrum of opportunities. The primary thing is the ability for collecting data from vehicles. This is utilized for predicting maintenance needs, identifying which services can be enhanced, and will ultimately permit the car to function autonomously.
The automotive ecosystem has automakers, research bodies, and government, as well as the people and procedures driving collaboration and modernization. Automotive OEMs surely will develop new capabilities on their own, but by sharing the data of connected cars and resources with a better ecosystem, the speed of growth will advance significantly, helping all. Players create new business models while customers get improved, safer products. Shared data and acumens lay the basis for intelligent driving.
Automakers are quickly introducing a new cohort of connected vehicles. Electric car brands like Tesla and Polestar are available today for customers to relish the expediency of constantly updated digital services over-the-air while enjoying emission-free transportation.
Self-driving cars are still fairly early in their growth. Several entities are helping the maturing industry, with commencement levels of automation like ADAS, active cruise control, and lane assist systems. Highly and fully self-drive module of driving is still in primitive stages of maturity with progressive companies’ players like Einride stressing that the rapid progression of fully self-driving cars is only limited by regional exposure and the capability to share the data of connected cars.
Shared mobility fleets like Volvo M and Renault’s Mobilize, are presently fueling the automotive industry. The data which is collected from shared mobility providers will guarantee that their fleets are efficiently operational for a long time, delivering sustainability benefits. These also provide burghs with the information required to better address the issues like traffic mobbing and more effective infra planning.
The data collected from connected cars will also improve future vehicles. That said, for these tendencies to advance competently and securely, the industry must work toward achieving the goals together and be eager to share anonymized data between all the entities.
All these trends are seen in the connected car market of the U.S., and that’s the primary reason for the rapid growth of the demand for connected cars in the U.S. Almost, all the technological advancements in the automotive sector in contemporary times are based on the principle of storing and analyzing, the data which is stored in the connected cars.

Attero recycling reviews  -  Potential of recycling e-waste in India
Tumblr media
India globally ranks fifth in generating e-waste after the US, China, Japan and Germany. E-waste or electronic waste is typically referred to discarded mobile phones, chargers, computer monitors, headphones, CDs, refrigerators and air conditioners among many other things. E-waste is growing exponentially in the country. The growth of the information and communication technologies has catapulted and enhanced the way electronic products are consumed and increased the magnanimity of its adoption. Electronic products are prone to obsolescence and upgradation which speeds up the consumer behaviour to discard them. These discarded old products accumulate to form e-waste which merges with the solid waste stream and compounds the waste disposal woes.
Majority of the e-waste recycling in India is carried out in the informal sector via primitive methods. Efficient handling and recycling of e-waste requires adequate legislative measures, and solutions that are cost-effective, eco-friendly and use the latest technologies.
Attero recycling pvt ltd states that electronic waste has emerged as a serious health and environmental issue in India. Computer devices account for 70% of annual e-waste that India generates, 12% is contributed by the telecom sector, 8% and 7% by medical equipment and electronic equipment respectively. The amount of e-waste generated in India varies from state to state. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh produce maximum amount of e-waste, followed by West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
The importance of effectively handling and recycling e-waste is gaining momentum globally. Studies reveal that by lowering the generation of e-waste and limiting it from entering the waste stream, and improving end-of-life handling, can prove instrumental and beneficial in the move towards building a more circular economy. In a circular economy, waste is reduced, resources are optimally conserved, and strategically fed back to the supply chain from production of new products.
Attero recycling pvt ltd explains that India has had laws to manage e-waste since the year 2011. The law mandates only authorised recyclers and dismantlers to collect e-waste. The E-waste Management Rules, 2016 was passed by the government and enacted in October 2017. Over 21 products (Schedule-I) were included under the purview of the rule. Components of electrical and electronic equipment were also included under the purview of the rule. The rule has played an instrumental role in strengthening the Extended Producer Responsibility, considered as the best practice globally for effective management of end-of-life products.
Despite these rules, close to 80% of e-waste in the country continues to be broken down, at a huge environmental and health cost, and polluting the soil and the groundwater. Attero recycling reviews a report by ASSOCHAM, one of the apex trade associations of India, which reported that e-waste generation in India increased from 1.8 MT per annum in 2016 to 5.2 MT per annum in the year 2020.
India has taken cognizance of the situation and has developed technologies that are economical and recycles plastics and valuable materials in an environmentally sustainable manner. These technologies include two exclusive PCB recycling technologies, viz 1000 kg/ day capacity (~35 MT e-waste) and 100kg/batch (~3.5MT e-waste) processes, with acceptable environmental norms. It must be noted that e-waste also contains plastic, which constitutes nearly 25% of its weight. India has developed technologies for novel recovery and conversion of waste plastics to value-added products. The technology can convert 76% of the waste plastic into suitable usable material.
Attero recycling reviews that there is gargantuan potential in augmenting e-waste recycling in the country, and over the last few years, India has made massive strides and taken right steps towards it. However, despite it e-waste still continues to be ignored and rot in waste disposal plants. A lot of ground needs to be covered by conducting awareness campaigns about the ill-effects of the e-waste, implementing skill development programmes, investing in programmes that aim at building the human capital required for the job, and promoting adoption of safe technologies for the effective recycling of the e-waste.
E-waste can act as gold for India, if India learns to recycle, regulate and recover in a timely manner.

The Patient's Life Story on Electronic Medical Records Software
In November 2004 the FDA approved the use associated with RFID tags (Radio-frequency identification) At the price computer technology is evolving it can take some imagination in order to picture how electronic advances will change health care within the coming years. Typically the economic and socio-political climate trends suggest that the prospect could possibly be less compared to idyllic. Down the road wellness care information may be kept in the centralized databank with the complete rundown of a personal identity; this signifies that whoever regulates the data handles the medical, economic, and privacy concerns of the personal. Thinking returning to the particular days of enjoying Pong on some sort of simple text pc, large and primitive by today's criteria, nobody would have got guessed we might sooner or later have nearly the total information worldwide available on some sort of tiny mobile phone. Miniaturization has been typically the trend as microchips get smaller in addition to more powerful. Industries like medical could obtain software that will gets ever extra sophisticated to combine medical records. The next step in connection with patient will end up being even more revolutionary. The particular associated with nanotechnology gives a new of possibility, since it provides typically the capability to put in nanometer-scale microchips to the body to perform electronic functions. Producing hand motions or even moving the sight may be the way we interface with typically the systems of the future with some point. Simply as electrodes in addition to RFID chips happen to be used on typically the exterior, additionally it is probable to use the particular technology internally. You would probably think that implanting such a chip would certainly be finished with limits of use beneath the law, which it truly is at the moment of this writing. With many regulations changing overnight and runaway centralization, it will only take some sort of new law in order to require citizens to have radio frequency identification chips placed in their arms which could serve as their bar codes. Typically the RFID chips at the moment utilized are injected in a patient's arm; imply carry medical files on their individual but when sought they provide gain access to to the databank where the records are on document. Greater technological progress will mean that a new person's history could be followed, providing an temptation to merge more data in to those chips. Study indicates that simply such a strategy is underway with the goal regarding having all professional medical records, financial information, criminal records, and so on being available to the authorities. Methods associated with keeping electronic clinical records will more than likely follow the trend involving accelerating technology to the stage of making this intrusive. It will be inevitable the ease of managing an inventory of the human population is not going to go undetected by governments within search of ways of easy control. Medical publications presented the final results of a survey done in February june 2006 of 253 Main Information Officers plus Directors of Details Systems at healthcare facilities (The 2004 Leadership Survey). get more info indicated that 55% of them regarded auto-identification as the particular IT solution that will was most critical in order to their institutions. The value would be significantly higher in military services and political groups. The march of progress goes on but there are two possible futures, possibly one of enlightenment where patients can count on new miracles of contemporary medicine to aid the particular living or possibly a potential of an Orwellian nightmare where a new totalitarian bureaucracy that will can turn off your current chip when it is displeased - kind of a big cable company. Another type involving chip has been developed that is consequently tiny it fits on the finish of a syringe and can attach itself to the particular cortex in the human brain. It would become competent at altering brainwave frequencies to make the subject either docile or thrashing. The potential regarding abuse is obvious and we can simply hope that privacy remains intact through the entire political power-grabbing. Capitalism & Racism in Black Sails
In order to properly understand the individual and collective responses to England’s empire in Black Sails, it is necessary to understand capitalism and its relationship to racism. What follows are my thoughts on the relationship between capitalism and racism (focusing on the late 1600s/the development of capitalist England), and how those things relate to the show. It’s a long post, but by no means is it an exhaustive analysis of either capitalism or Black Sails, so I look forward to what others have to say on the subject!
First, what is meant by “capitalism”?
Capitalism describes an economic system in which private businesses own the means of production––the materials and tools used in the production of goods. This system creates distinct classes within society: the bourgeoisie who own the corporations and the proletariat who must work at these corporations and thereby become subservient to the bourgeoisie.
Explained in Ellen Meiksins Wood’s The Origin of Capitalism, capitalism emerged most specifically in England as a result of the agrarian feudal creation of the landlord-tenant relationship, in which the landlord rented land to the tennant, who was incentivized to produce as many goods as possible. This system led to the complete privatization of land and the creation of wage-laborers who could not produce enough goods to themselves become part of the bourgeoisie. Over time, as these wage-laborers became more numerous, society shifted from being agrarian-centered to revolving around the creation of cities to facilitate the mass production of goods.
How is capitalism tied to racism?
The spread of early capitalism throughout Europe was facilitated by improvements in technology allowing for the mass production of goods from raw materials. Capitalist countries thus turned outward in search of raw goods to power their economies. As Marx explains in Capital:
The discovery of gold and silver in America, the extirpation, enslavement and entombment in mines of the indigenous population of that continent, the beginnings of the conquest and plunder of India, and the conversion of Africa into a preserve for the commercial hunting of blackskins, are all things which characterise the dawn of the era of capitalist production. These idyllic proceedings are the chief momenta of primitive accumulation. On their heels treads the commercial war of the European nations, with the globe for a theatre (Chapter 31).
Capitalism thus rests on the idea of “primitive accumulation,” that being the initial expropriation of the individual from the land, achieved through feudalism domestically and chattel slavery internationally. Because capitalism demands the constant mass production of goods, it requires increasing volumes of raw goods––sugarcane, cotton, coffee beans, etc.––which are obtained through the extension of colonialist enterprises in order to keep parts of the world in a continuous state of underdevelopment.
Although pre-capitalist societies had slaves, the advent of capitalism necessitated slavery on a mass scale, produced through the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, in which indigenous populations were wiped out and replaced with slave laborers. This system resulted in complete alienation of labor as white laborers in the “New World” were replaced by the early 1700s with more ‘cost-effective’ enslaved Africans who had no ties to their owners or to the land they worked. As former Trinidadian Prime Minister Eric Williams put it:
Here, then, is the origin of Negro slavery. The reason was economic, not racial; it had to do not with the color of the laborer, but the cheapness of the labor. [The planter] would have gone to the moon, if necessary, for labor. Africa was nearer than the moon, nearer too than the more populous countries of India and China. But their turn would soon come” (14).
Racism, then, is indistinguishable from the power structures of capitalism. The desire of the bourgeoisie to increase their capital led to the creation of the slave trade in order to accumulate mass volumes of raw goods so their proletariat workers could transform them into goods to then be sold back to the workers for profit.
This system thus creates two types of exploitation: the exploitation of the enslaved people and colonized lands, as well as the exploitation of the domestic working class. The need to keep this system in place demanded capitalist societies craft the false belief in white supremacy in order to justify the enslavement of Africans, Indians, and various Indigenous peoples in Asia and Latin America.
So, how does piracy come into the picture?
In the mid-late 1600s, England began its industrial revolution, propelling the island to increase its Atlantic trade. This desire to trade created a new merchant class, expanded the number of laborers in American colonies, and launched England into various wars with competing European powers. In Villains of All Nations: Atlantic Pirates in the Golden Age, Marcus Rediker describes the social conditions of this era thusly:
By 1716, big planters drove armies of servants and slaves as they expanded their power from their own lands to colonial and finally national legislatures. Atlantic empires mobilized labor power on a new and unprecedented scale, largely through the strategic use of violence––the violence of land seizure, of expropriating agrarian workers, of the Middle Passage, of exploitation through labor discipline, and of punishment (often in the form of death) against those who dared resist the colonial order of things. By all accounts, by 1713, the Atlantic economy had reached a new stage of maturity, stability, and profitability. The growing riches of the few depended on the growing misery of the many.
Piracy emerged from this poverty in England and in its colonies, as poor people who knew how to sail figured they had little to lose and much to gain in turning to piracy. Moreover, piracy offered an alternative to the oppressive nature of living under England’s empire. Pirate ships “limited the authority of the captain, resisted many of the practices of capitalist merchant shipping industry, and maintained a multicultural, multiracial, and multinational social order.” On these ships, pirates learned “the importance of equality…[their] core values were collectivism, anti-authoritarianism, and egalitarianism, all of which were summarized in the sentence frequently uttered by rebellious sailors: “they were one & all resolved to stand by one another.” In Marxist terms, pirates retained control over the means of production and their labor, producing a more egalitarian division of profit in which all received the same share.
The Golden Age of Piracy, then, emerged in response to England’s adoption of capitalism. Despite the threat of death, exploited workers turned to piracy out of desperation and the quest for securing immediate wealth. Although piracy was often violent, it nonetheless embodied a system of labor in stark contrast to that of capitalism, based not on unequal acquisition of goods but on the fundamental equality of human beings.
How does this capitalist context enrich our understanding of Black Sails?
England’s capitalist-driven empire provides the system under which all of our characters struggle and thus informs their every decision. The characters’ backstories we are given all pertain to their desire to either escape from capitalism or assimilate with it. As this post is quite lengthy, I won’t go into detail about every single character, only the ones who most illustrate the manner in which capitalism operates.
First, James Flint’s backstory is not simply that of a man who experienced homophobia and wants revenge for it. We learn of him that his father was a carpenter and he was raised by his grandfather in Padstow, a working-class fishing town in north Cornwall. Because of this, he was barred from receiving a formal education and likely joined the navy because it offered him the opportunity for some sort of upward mobility, though it’s clear in his interactions with his peers that they will never see him as an equal due to his lower-class status. The manner in which James’s peers treat him very likely plays a role in his decision to support Thomas’s plan for Nassau. Despite the plan still being colonialist, it did seek to undermine a key component of capitalism: the dehumanization of the working force. This dehumanization is a fundamental element of capitalism (and this empire) because if laborers believe they have inherent worth, they are more likely to challenge the bourgeoisie. Thus, James’s exile from England was not because he was gay, but because he sought to undercut the foundations of England’s wealth, a choice driven by his love for Thomas and his own relationship to capitalism.
Connected to Flint’s backstory is Billy’s, as it also involves the navy. From the mid-1600s to the early 1800s, Britain relied on the practice of impressment––forcing people to serve in the navy––to advance its colonial aims. Billy’s parents were levellers, people who opposed impressment. As punishment for this, Billy was taken as a child and forced into “press gangs” and served in the Navy for three years as a bonded laborer (the naval equivalent of debtors’ prison) until his ship was captured by Flint and he was given the opportunity to join the crew after killing his captor. Like Flint, then, Billy became a pirate as a direct result of the violence done to him by capitalist-imperialist England.
Likewise, Jack became a pirate as a consequence of English capitalist industrialization. His family had for generations owned a tailoring business, but it was driven out of business by the creation of a massive textile mill. After his father died, Jack was forced to assume responsibility for his father’s debts, which he would work off as an indentured servant at the very textile mill responsible for the debt. Jack, then, turns to piracy to escape capitalism.
To understand the backstories of Flint, Billy, and Jack, you must understand the process by which England assumed a capitalist economy and how that shift from feudalism to capitalism affected both domestic and international practices in the early 1700s. The introduction of distinct classes based on relationships to labor mandated strict inequality and the valuation of mass production at the expense of individual lives.
How does Black Sails depict the relationship between racism and capitalism?
The most obvious answer here is the show’s involvement of Madi and the Maroons, who exist solely as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Because this is already a lengthy post, I would like to set Madi aside in order to talk about Max, who I think offers a less overt critique of what Cedric Robinson calls “racial capitalism.”
Max, rather than seeking to run from capitalism, wants to become a member of the bourgeoisie. Her enslavement is, of course, the result of French colonialism in the Caribbean, but rather than recoil from civilization, her enslavement propels her to want to join it. As she tells Anne:
“When I was very small, I would sneak out of the slave quarters at night to the main house. I would stand outside the window to the parlor. I would stand amongst the heat and the bugs and the filth on my toes to see inside. Inside that house was a little girl my age… With the most beautiful skin. I watched her dance while her father played music and her mother sewed. I watched her read and eat and sing and sleep, kept safe and warm and clean by her father. My father. The things it took to make that room possible, they were awful things. But inside that room was peace. That is what home is to me” (3.3).
She reiterates this understanding of society to Marion Guthrie when she states that “progress cannot begin and suffering will not end until someone has the courage to go out into the woods and drown the damned cat” (4.07). While she recognizes the evils of civilization, she also believes that it offers comforts for the select few, and she wants to be one among the few.
Max, indeed, is successful in assimilating into capitalist society. She works her way out of sex work until she owns most of Nassau, not once but twice. This achievement initially seems like a massive success and proof in the viability of Max’s methods, but in subtle ways, the show demonstrates that assimilation is not liberation.
Because, as Ibram X. Kendi stated, “The life of racism cannot be separated from the life of capitalism,” Max’s attempts to assimilate come with the betrayal of the rest of the enslaved people. Although she herself refuses to use slave labor, her treaty with Mrs. Guthrie, Silver, and the Maroons requires the Maroons to return escaped Black people into slavery. Moreover, she has won herself power in a system that refuses to recognize her presence, forcing her to pretend that Featherstone is the real governor of Nassau.
Further, her assimilation into the capitalist system alienates her from other Black people. The two characters with whom she is most closely associated with are Anne and Eleanor, white women whose whiteness affords them a certain level of protection not offered to Max. She never interacts with Madi or any of Madi’s people and she therefore cannot comprehend any other path but assimilation.
For all of Max’s efforts to learn from Eleanor and do better than Eleanor in running Nassau, she ends up in virtually the same place as Eleanor, but even more hidden. The Guthrie family still holds financial control of Nassau, Woodes Rogers still looms in the distance, and though piracy exists, it is even less acceptable. Thus, while Max is often credited as the person who most “sees life as it is,” her alienation under capitalism prevents her from seeing life “as it should be.”
Conclusion
As capitalism emerged as the dominant economic and political system beginning in the early 1700s, it came to define all aspects of global society, down to the very relationships people had with each other. It is impossible, then, to truly understand the motivations of anyone in the show without discussing their relationship to capitalism. This is by no means an exhaustive account of Black Sails’ commentary on capitalism and racism (I didn’t even mention Vane’s conversation with the Spanish soldier), but it hopefully underscores the idea that knowledge of capitalism (and therefore imperialism) is essential for fully comprehending the show.
