Reshade looks really complicated to install correctly from what I've seen at other simblrs! Maybe it isn't worth it and it would just be easier to edit the pictures yourself? Just a thought :3

I don’t wanna sound like I have an ego, but I have a good knowledge how computers and software work ( I study computer sciences), so I mostly know what I’m doing. The frustrating thing is Reshade works on my other games who use my dedicated graphic card, just not the sims, so I’m really confused and I have no idea what’s causing it. I have fiddled with so many options and changed a lot of settings on my lappy, but no success at all. At the end you have a point, I woudn’t have used reshade that much, but I just would have liked to see the difference it could have on my gameplay and what toll it takes on my computer. But it makes me so sad to see all those awesome pics and not be able to use it yourself.

02/07/16: Kiara

In my first post I said I’ll write up an entry about Kiara, so here we go! 

Ki turned two years old in May, and so far the ‘terrible twos’ haven’t seemed to hit her yet, luckily for her mama. She’s always been a pretty sweet-tempered baby, but who know how long it will last... she’s growing up fast! 

Naturally, Ki is very curious and is always wandering around the house, so Noah and I have to be constantly watching her to make sure she doesn't get into trouble. Her curiosity is a good thing, though; she asks questions all the time about what I’m doing, it’s great that she’s so interested in me cleaning up after her mess haha! 

Her favourite place is in the garden, she seems to love picking flowers in summer and giving them to her dad or I, or just watching me work in the veggie patch. Again, we do have to be careful because our house has a lovely big pool at the back and we don’t want Ki falling in accidentally. There is a fenced area for her, but you never know when she might go dashing out of the door! This year, though, the crazy winter weather has kept her inside. I might take a few photos of her in the snow once the clouds let up.

As for sleeping and such, Ki is still sleeping in a cot in Noah and I’s bedroom, but I’m thinking moving her to a big bed soon, and giving her a bedroom of her own once she can safely travel up and down the stairs without me worrying. That might be a while because she’s still quite small and a little clumsy, though. And to be honest I don’t want her to go just yet!

“The City of Endless Stars”. A citadel drifting high in the peaks of faraway mountains, cresting the sweeping snow tundras at the edge of the world—where days glimmer briefly and nights are deep and infinite. Tsune Stellae is a city of astronomers, scientists, and philosophers in reverence of the cosmos, gathering during the longest nights of the year to study the movements of the planets, of supernovas and falling stars; to divine the whispered secrets of the sun and moon. Although the passage of stargazers wanes and waxes throughout the seasons, at the heart of the citadel are twelve families who have guarded the most precious instruments and libraries of astronomical knowledge for centuries.

Rules — Tell us about the “What If” couples in your story; how they might have worked or failed, what their relationship dynamics would be. 

Cheers @lazysunjade for tagging me and partaking in another picture match despite it ending up in both of us having breakdowns ❤ It feels a little forbidden to participate in this challenge when the story isn’t even halfway, but I’m doing it anyway. The concept of Misha and Mako as a couple was actually something I was thinking about for over a lengthy period last year, as I was unsure about both of their sexualities. At their character births both were straight but as they grew more nuanced, it became increasingly clear to me, at least, that Mako was bi or pan—Misha being straight, sexuality wise, although his romantic orientation is indefinite. Mako’s attraction lays in body and beauty, while Misha’s in mind and soul. Although their technicalities don’t quite align, if they did, their potential would be very strong.

At first glance they seem like polar opposites, but they share many aspects, it’s just these sides show at different times (from Eva’s perspective). Misha generally appears as a confident, magnetic, passionate lover of people and partying, wild and free, while Mako shadows him as a somber and reserved introvert; but Mako can also be very sociable and experimental, Misha quiet and philosophical. Perhaps the most fundamental thing they share is a deep curiosity and wonder about the different kinds of beauties in life, born out of their respective oppressive childhoods. There’s a mutual understanding in the trauma of their youths, a knowledge privy to them to what fears that has caused, thus the desire to protect each other. Art museums or nightclubs, jewels or wildflowers, their search for vibrant emotions and the meaning of life is what forms the basis of their connection. Misha channels this craving into healthy experiences for Mako (unlike his New York days); Mako gives the safety for Misha to explore what he truly wants. So, in a similar way to Evako, they have a ‘yin and yang’ dynamic that would make a solid foundation for a romantic relationship.

What brings it crashing down is their difference in values. Misha is very much for the greater good—he is incredibly empathetic and driven by a selfless sense of justice. Mako’s values... or technically the Hayashi values, are rooted entirely in self interest. I don’t want to say much more because spoilers, but that would certainly cause fatal issues, and even if they were attracted to each other, a genuine relationship would never last. More subtle things that break down the potential are: a power imbalance, meaning (and I will expand on this in the second variation of this challenge) Mako’s status still demands a level of respect and yielding from Misha, no matter how close they are; and the fact that Misha is near flawless and emotionally mature, while Mako is rife with critical flaws and complications, which means that only one of them has the true capacity to grow in this relationship, bringing a price for the other. As compelling of a romance Mishako would be, Eva and Mako’s characters were always developed as a duo, their growth interdependent, balancing each other out in their unique sets of strengths and flaws. Everything that makes Misha and Mako such a compatible pair already exists in their deep platonic bond, and I don’t think a romantic relationship could make that any stronger.
