#this is not abt ppl who face barriers to voting or are likewise disenfranchised #this is about every single person ik who thinks (wrongly) that politics is pointless and has no bearing on their life #so why should they bother to make any effort 2 be informed or vote or CARE #'eh politics isnt important' oh yeah bud fer fuckin sure it only controls major fuckin aspects of ur entire goddamn life #my brother voted (probably bc he knew he knew our household would never let him live it down) but i asked him if he did any research #and he said nope ill probably just vote for the incumbent like ???? how can some1 so smart be so moronic????? #like if ur making an INFORMED choice not to vote based on principles or not feeling like any of candidates represent u #then i can totally respect that but the majority of ppl i talk 2 who are just like whatever about voting or politics #dont even know who their incumbent mpp is let alone anything else about how the ontario legislature even works #they sure as hell arent looking at party platforms or voting records ! #onpoli #idk im just. frustrated. #how can u have a majority government that got 47% of the votes AND only 43% of eligible voters even cast a ballot! #how is that democratic!!! in any way shape or form!!!!!! #also ik a lot of ppl are confused abt like voting systems and mpps and ridings and stuff #but i PROMISE there are actual great & accessible breakdowns of those things all over the web #like take electoral reform which genuinely can get quite confusing with the numbers and all the systems n stuff #ive seen multiple amazing yt videos on that topic ! and yh grade 10 civics was a long time ago 4 most of us but just. #pls. care abt other ontarians at least man like cmon
