I don’t mean to be one of those “why ship THAT ship when THIS ship is RIGHT THERE” and I know it’s to each our own but
wHy ShIp ZoR/////oBiN wHeN fRo/////BiN iS rIgHt ThErE!!!!1111
I don’t dislike zor///obin but I hate the implications of it because I can imagine fanboys projecting onto zoro and also shipping lu///boa and san/////ami in the gross kind of “alpha male gets the beautiful woman on his arm” kind of way

I wasn’t going to do a play by play of the opla eps I saw but literally took the time to watch two episodes today because Baratie
Man
MAN
MAN WHAT DID THEY DO TO THIS ARC
The Baratie is supposed to showcase Sanji and Zeff but they literally turned it into the Zoro and Arlong/Nami show
What’s this captain nonsense? Yeah making Luffy feel like he was wrong because he was in charge adds to some drama but huuhhh??? Sanji is literally an afterthought.
They didn’t go searching for a cook, Luffy had some of Sanjis food before seeing his kindness (not the end of the world but), Sanji didn’t see the Zoro fight (dying for your dreams etc), Zeff making sashimi on Zoro’s chest for reasons but Sanji was literally just standing there. Yeah he made them sushi later but huh????
Anyway, too much worrying over Zoro, too much Nami exposition (ZoNas rejoice tho), Zeff and Sanji’s last argument made it look like Sanji just “joined the crew” because he was having a fit and decided to run away from home.
I don’t care that Mihawk literally killed Kreig off screen or that Arlong became the reason they had to fight. The way Gin just came in and just disappeared afterwards was Huh??? Like okay if Kreig isn’t relevant, sure, I guess.
I know the Sanji flashback like the back of my hand but I feel like it did not need to be that long??? The camera stayed on little Sanji moving to the other end of the island for way too long and we did not need to see that many days, especially if we didn’t get to see him regretting throwing food away or losing the last of his moldy bread.
Yeah Luffy got to see Sanji in action, knew he was a good cook and a good guy but I felt like he never really asked him to join his crew. He did ask once but he didn’t really push it, wasn’t incessant. This Luffy loves food just as much so shouldn’t he be more thrilled about having a cook? (It’s because there were so many other things going on, Sanji literally was Not Important.)
I’m just…
Big sigh
I do love the Oregano joke, super cute when the two were prepping brunch together. The parting scene was… not as dramatic but I feel like a lot of the scenes kinda miss when it comes to the dramatic parts (shanks losing arm, the hat pass, even the reveal of Zeff losing his leg. Do I blame the soundtrack???)
OH BUT THEY ADAPTED ALL THE IMPORTANT ZORO SCENES JUST FINE HUH??
