Re-reading the comics and I totally forgot how dark they are

#zuko #zukaang #aang #atla zuko #atla aang #atla #avatar the last airbender #the promise #unpopular opinion maybe but i loved how nothing in this book was cut and dried and how everyones' trauma came back to haunt em #progress isn't linear so i don't mind zuko's behaviour here #he suddenly has a lot more pressure on him and he's obviously scared shitless he'll do the right thing etc. like shit just got real #super sad #aang didn't want to kill ozai but idk he was just being a friend to zuko here because zuko asked it of him #aang was obviously conflicted BUT he also wanted to uphold his duty to the world #which zuko totally sold him on and used as an argument for aang to honour the promise. #i can totally see that happening #i loved the ending too how zuko turned out to be right all along and it was the generational trauma that just convinced him he wasn't right #like is some of the characterization/plot contrived? sure totally! but wow i'm shocked to see how ice-cold the overall reception is #@tumblr stop messing w my tags and sticking them in the post body omg #atla spoilers
