#this is a followup to my micro bio prof talking abt me to a former student. now prof #im just trying to think out how to proceede #bc i emailed him like: here's what im interested in blah blah understandinf mechanisms of extremophiles blah blah #and he emailed back with what his lab does which is space biology. which is different that what im interested in #bc he takes microbes and takes away uv or gravity to see how they react #which is like kind of the opposite of my interest bc hes testing their plasticity #BUT it can also tell us how things like gravity and uv radiation shape how a microbe finctions. like u are removing a vital pressure and #tracking what happens. which is super cool #so now im like how do i reply to that? bc his research is different than where i wanna go but its also kinda super cool and i read 2 of his #papers and now i have questions. #like does waitlessnes in space lead to adaptations in microbes like those seen in aquatic microbes bc they also experience waitlessness #and other such comparisons between micobes that grow without these constraints: those found in deep ocean. and those deprived of conditons #idk its hard to put in words what i want to ask. so well see #in other words im super burnt out on my thesis work. and im v tired #im stuck on my stupid code #idk maybe i meet with my pi tomorrow. but tomorrow is supposed to be spring break? so idk whats happening #idk im behind on so much #unrelated
