I admit I haven’t seen a ton of SPOP so please correct me if I’m wrong but it’s really frustrating to me how badly the MLM/transmasc characters are handled in it- Kyle is canonically gay and is treated as a joke, both the bi men in the show end up in m/f relationships/mainly express interest in women and OH YEA FALCON WAS SEAHAWKS DAD IN THE ORIGINAL SHE RA THATS WEIRD. We don’t even see the real peekablue- jewelstar and Rogelio seem fine but man for a show that’s meant to be progressive

Well, you're not wrong. I'm not entirely bothered that the bi characters ended up in m/f relationships, but as @spop-romanticizes-abuse said, their attraction to men isn't actually confirmed anywhere in the show. I think the crew mainly "confirms" the characters' orientations on social media, which is. You know. Cheap.

Kyle is also a weird case because people claim he's bisexual too, since Nate decided to shove Lonnie with him and Rogelio out of the show, which is bullshit (but trust me, someone called me a biphobe for calling Kyle gay, lol)

Like, we still have Bow's dads at least. But they're not an important part of the show, unfortunately. In fact, I don't particularly like the way this show treats men in general. Most of them are stupid or underdeveloped (or both), and I especially say this because of how Kyle is treated throughout the show. The entire punchline is that he's a pathetic white guy, so he suffers for no reason at all.

I don't know, I personally don't find that progressive in the slightest. I think it's no wonder why there are radfems/TERFs in the SPOP fandom.

Season 5 spoilers:

Okay so I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence or if everyone already knows this but I noticed something when rewatching she ra:

When people got chipped , it was always only half of a relationship , here are the examples: Spinnerella got chipped and Netossa didnt , Catra got chipped and Adora didnt , Scorpia got chipped and Perfuma didnt , Mermista got chipped and Sea hawk didnt.

There is also Hordak getting chipped and Entrapta not being , but he wasnt really chipped as he was already a clone.

Also Glimmer and Bow where the only two characters (in a relationship) where neither of them got chipped. ( out of the sort of main characters , not including people like Kyle, Lonnie and etc.)

Also Micah got chipped , and ig Angella didn't but she wasn't really around to get chipped.

So yeah lmao , idk if people already knew that I just thought it was cool (also a really heartbreaking)

Headcanon SPOP Ages

I know there has been a lot of debate on the princesses ages, and it’s really unclear to define some of them based on things like their species, how they age, and a lot of other unknown facts. But, for some reason, I have decided to try and break down their ages piece by piece with what little information we have ahead of the Season 4 premiere.

Mara (Early 30s at time of "death")

• There’s still a lot to learn about Mara, and I think we’ll get a lot of answers out of this upcoming season. However, so far, we know there hasn't been a She-Ra in well over a thousand years (before Adora) and it seems like Mara didn't live that long even though she accomplished so much... But based on her appearance I would say she was probably in her 30s when she "died" or I guess, disappeared?

Angella 🤷‍♀️ (less than 1000)

• She’s another mysterious character. We don’t know her species, when she was born, if there’s any more of her kind (besides Glimmer) or really what happened to her in the portal. What we do know is that she's an immortal being and that she is not a first one. She also did not know about Mara and has only heard stories of She-Ra prior to Adora's appearance.

• Technically since he's a clone of Horde Prime we can't be too sure of his real age or if he ages differently because of this. But based on his physical appearance and the rapid decline of his health (because of his defects) I place him in his late 50s, but he could be older than that too.

Hordak (Late 50s?)

Shadow Weaver (Late 40s or Early 50s)

• If we assume that Light Spinner was in her 30s when she was teaching Micah as an early teen and that he had Glimmer approx. 10 years later and given the fact that she's a teen now, the numbers add up somewhere around that age. But, just like a lot of others on this list, we don’t know her species and how she ages, so it’s hard to tell.

Micah (Late 20s at time of "death," 40s now?)

• I'm basing this on his appearance and the apparent graying in his beard as seen in "Remember." Since I personally believe that the portal would be unable to recreate beings that have passed, and that Micah in person looked much older than his mural, we can assume that he's definitely still alive and that he has aged normally during his time away. Also, in that episode he looked like he was probably in his mid 40s which would make sense given the passage of time since Glimmer was a baby to now.

Princesses Parents (30s to 50s?)

• Honestly, it's hard to tell given the fact that the only princess’ parents we've actually seen are Angella and Micah. We definitely need more information about them to make a precise estimate.

Entrapta (Early 30s)

• I believe one of the She-Ra crew members said that Entrapta was in her early 30s, plus there haven’t been any mentions about her parents and she appeared to be living alone with the robots in Dryl during season one. Also given the “subtle” hints at her relationship with Hordak, it would make sense that she would be older than the other princesses.

Spinnerella and Netossa (Late 20s)

• To me, they seem to be the oldest princesses in the Rebellion right now. This is based on appearance (obviously) and the fact that none of the younger princesses hangout with them, or really knew what they did prior to season one. They are also one of the few canon couples on this show and usually canon couples are older in shows that are intended for a younger audience.

Perfuma (26 or 27)

• She also seems to be an older princess, given how well established she is in ruling her kingdom and overall physical appearance. She also seems to be in full control of her powers and is confident in her ability to use them, which we see younger princesses like Glimmer and Adora falter in.

Sea Hawk (25 or older)

• I’m basing this one mostly on his personality, since his physical appearance isn’t much to go off of. Yes, he has a mustache and is well built, but that doesn’t really help us define anything. What we do know is that he is an adventurer and very spontaneous, often acting compulsively without thinking (i.e. setting boats on fire) which indicates to me that he isn’t that emotionally mature yet, but I could be wrong.

Scorpia (23 or older)

• I know some people might fight me over this one but hear me out. Obviously, she has to be older that Adora and Catra because she’s not in their squadron (with Lonnie, Kyle and Rogelio) and she was already a force captain by the time Catra became one. Also, her overall appearance and demeanor makes me think that she’s in hermid-20s.

Mermista (22 or 23)

• I think she has mentioned her Dad before in the series and she appears to be newish when it comes to ruling her kingdom. Her powers are also pretty well developed, but I feel like she has more to learn somehow. The fact that she could possible be in a relationship with Sea Hawk also influences me to place her in her early 20s.

Adora (19 or 20)

• Noelle has repeatedly called her a young adult in interviews on several occasions. Her upcoming path to self-discovery also seems like something most young adults go through in that age too. But, technically speaking, I guess she's over one thousand years old too given that she's a first one who came into the future through magical portal, right?

Catra (18 or 19)

• I don't see there being a huge age difference between them given that they grew up together and everything else that has happened between them. And the only reason I'm listed Adora as being older is because her cannon birthday comes before Catra's.

Bow and Glimmer (17 or 18)

• Just like Catra and Adora I see Glimmer and Bow being close in age given that they also grew up together, etc. But in my headcanon I believe Bow is older than Glimmer based on his occasional maturity and emotional stability. He always seems to be the one that mediates his friend’s outbursts and his overall willingness to make new friends is very mature of him.

Frosta (12)

• I think she's the only princess that we know the canon age of. In the newest short we see her celebrate her 12th birthday. She is also surprising mature for her age and she seems to has excellent control of her powers.
