Hi slug! It seems everyone including me is curious about shiptalk now haha. I suppose while we're on the topic, what do you think of the Samatoki/Rio and/or Jyuto/Rio dynamics? I feel like the former in particular is pretty underrated. You can answer for either platonic or romantic, I don't mind!

Yeah, today's a day for shipping questions I guess.

As I just mentioned, I don't think about shipping MTC all that much, but in terms of their overall dynamics... okay, so here's the thing about MTC. It's a group of babysitters. Riou and Juuto are babysitting Samatoki for obvious reasons. Samatoki and Juuto think they're babysitting Riou whenever they go out to his camp, and Riou thinks the exact same thing but in reverse. Juuto doesn't know it, but he's being babysat as well whenever he goes off on one of his emotional outbursts. So Juuto/Riou is very much, "Let's cooperate [in looking after our troublesome manchild], although our methods [of parenting] may be different" and Samatoki/Riou is very much, "Let's let the toddler tire himself out while we adults sit outside." They all think they're the responsible one in this relationship. It's very funny to me.

I like them as both friends and as a ship; I think they just like each other and enjoy each others’ company a lot! They can have dates where they eat bugs and stargaze together, romantically or platonically.

I am ENAMORED with RiouDice as friends. Let's go. LET'S FUCKING GO! MY BOYS! MY BOYS!!! They're HANGING OUT, and APPRECIATING ONE ANOTHER even though the rest of the cast normally VIEWS THEM AS WEIRD. But no! They have mutual RESPECT and ADMIRATION and they're SHARING FOOD OUT IN THE WOODS! WHOO!!!!

I don't really see them as romantic. If one of the mangakas really gets on that agenda, then perhaps I'll change my mind, but for now that's where I stand.
